Cracked porcelain
Audience:
When looking atmy research Ican clearly see that my main audience is young 16-24 year old males mostly
from my secondaryresearch through yougov and IMDB showing thatthe 3 top grossing horror films have a
main attraction to the audience of young males.With the exception of psycho which had a slightfavour of
women rather than men however with that said,that movie is a slasher horror which is notthe type of horror I
would like to create. I think from my primary research I have also found out that my main audiences
preferences in horror films so Ihave more of an idea of what I need to make.
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
I feel like from the start of this year I have improved an insane amount within class.Ithink my skills within the
programmes we use has been mybiggestimprovement,I have definitely learntso much within photoshop
such as recolouring and lots ofother skills within the programme.After effects is something Ihave improved
on however would still like to do some practice on therefore won’t be using it in my film.Premier on the other
hand I have learnthow to use that so well which will help so much within the editing bpth the video and sound
effects within my film.
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
My project will be a psychological thriller based around a porcelain doll thatwill taunta woman throughouther
life. It will show differentevents within her life where the doll does things to hurt/frighten the woman within the
film.I like the idea of more of a confusing film which messes with the audiences mind rather than a horror with
jumpscares as from research Iknow a lot of people offind them boring.I wantthis to make the audience think
aboutwhat is going on rather than being able to predictwhat is going to happen next. I think the main story
line is a good way to do this and my 60 second film will hopefullyreflect this.
Production Techniques (approx. 150 words)
I will definitelyneed a camera,tripod and a Mac to complete my shortfilm. Because I wantto use different
angles and types of shots I will need a tripod to be able to smoothlymove the position ofthe camera while
filming or before filming.I will also need to film for longer periods oftime as my shots will be showing events
and there will be 2-3 shots per scene within my film therefore I need to be able to cut them down within post
production.I will plan my shots thoroughlybefore filming them.
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
I will compare mywork to other experimental films similar to mine.Also look at the way I decided to edit it
together and how well the whole composition works together.Iwill also consider evaluating halfwaythrough
and seeing ifmy film is working or if I need to rethink it.
