The document describes the process the author took to create a magazine cover design experiment. They began by selecting a background image of a glacier and sea scene. Then they found a photo of a fisherman online and cut him out to place in the background image. Next, the author added the magazine title and stretched it out to look realistic. Additional text elements like the tagline and headline were added using contrasting colors. Smaller news stories and a translucent shape were used to highlight additional features. Finally, finishing touches like a website link, barcode, and directory box at the bottom were included to make the cover look more realistic. In the reflection, the author notes they will carry over the bold contrasting fonts and colors for the

2. Process
For the background image I
used a picture of a glacier
with the sea in the shot o that
I can later edit the person
onto the photo to look like
they are in the photo.
I also didn't’t like the look of
the brown cliff in the
background so I will make
sure to cover that when I add
the person to the cover.
I chose this background
image as the colours looked
as if they would merge well
with the colours on the
person that I have chosen for
the cover.
3. Process
I then found a photo of a
fisher on google and cut them
out off of the background so
that I could make it look like
they were actually in the
location that I put the min,
and also to cover the brow
nin the background precisely
so that you cant see it at all
without covering too much of
the rest of the backgroun.
4. Process
I then added the title of the
magazine in a similar style to
the pre-existing one that I
looked at, but in white
instead to better match the
colour scheme of the rest f
the magazine cover, and had
it quite stretched to make the
cover look more realistic as
tat is a style of writing that I
had seen on quite a few
magazine covers.
5. Process
Next I added in some other
more significant bits of
writing including the tagline
at the top of the scree and
the headline title which states
what the main articles in the
magazine would be about,
alternating the colours for the
most important words and
phrases like had seen done in
most of the other magazine
covers that I looked at in my
research.
6. Process
To add more information
about what will be featured in
the magazine I added in some
lesser news stories in less
bold outstanding fonts and
put in the “in salt waters”
using two different fonts and
placing the atop a translucent
shape to make it stand out
more.
7. Process
T add the finishing touches I
added in a website link, bar
code and a box a the bottom
to direct you to specific pages
for different stories so that
the magazine looked little bit
more realistic, as well as to fill
up the empty space at the
bottom of the screen, and to
add a bit of contrast to the
otherwise very bright cover as
I used a dark translucent box
for the directory at the
bottom.
8. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
– I will use a similar method of having a very bold contrasting font and
colour for the title and headlines on my cover that was seen in the
experiment that I created.
– I will also use a similar layout for how I displayed the different part and
features of the cover.
