Be in your seat and ready to work when the bell

Have a positive attitude, be willing to help out, be
willing to try out new things, be prepared to be
surprised and most of all have fun!
REMEMBER: Good work and good behavior will
be rewarded!

Personal achievements, in regards to participation,
cooperation, attitude or behavior may be rewarded
with TACO TICKETS

students can pick up a
taco at lunch.
Be Courteous • Be respectful to those talking
around you, this includes the
teacher, any guests and other
students. If someone is talking
listen.
• Participate daily and do your
role to help out
• No racial slurs, derogatory
language or cussing allowed
• SWEAR JAR : collects $ for
charity every time teacher or
students hear any foul
language, 25-50 CENTS
Be Conscience of the Room and Supplies
-Supplies are given to each student and
are limited.
-Do not WASTE or misuse supplies.
Students will be held monetarily
accountable for purposefully wasting
supplies.
-Do not DEFACE any of the property of
the room!
• Finish all food and drinks prior to entering and
beginning work (FIRST 5 MIN)
• NO snack sales or fundraiser snacks to be sold
• Accidents do happen and a spilt drink could ruin
someone’s masterpiece.
• Materials and residue of art materials are
hazardous to your health
Clean Up
• You will probably get dirty.
• Be aware of your mess! I will always leave around 5 minutes at the
end of each class for cleaning up of materials and supplies used,
along with generally area tidying.
• Do NOT pack up or begin cleaning on your own. Wait for me to call
clean up. (If you notice 5 minutes left, remind me!)
• You may bring in an old t-shirt or apron to help keep your school
clothes clean
Table Responsibilities
• Each table is responsible for making sure that all
of the supplies are put away in the appropriate
spot
• Also that all used tools are cleaned and put back
at the table
• That the table and surrounding area is wiped
down, eliminating dust and residue, making it
presentable for the other students
• Encourage and educate each other
• This is a part of your participation grade and
can have an effect on your final grade if not
followed

• Bathroom/exit passes
• 4 right now, 2 more given at the
semester
• 6 total for the year
• Write your name on each one
• After you have used them, 5 points
deducted for every additional exit
• Extra credit or raffle at the end of the
year.

• Project Prep Work - 15%
• Project Guidelines - 50%
• Post-Reflection/Criticism - 10%
• Art History/Philosophy - 5%
• Daily Participation/Clean-Up - 5%

are completed.
The Consequences

Clichés and COPYWRITTEN images
are not creative, therefore discouraged in this
class. Example Clichés:

• Hearts
• Stars
• Stick people
• Suns with faces
• Tear drops
A Willingness to TRY
• I will introduce a variety of media
and projects during the course.
• I expect you to try your best and
remain positive.
• You are capable of being creative.
Be Productive
Stay focused and work during the whole class period.
• Take breaks if you find yourself loosing focus (do not disturb
other artists in action, just take a walk around the room)
• Get inspired by tablemates, see what you can do to improve
your work and others.
• If you have finished a task or project early find something else
to work on.
• Work on other homework
• Read a book
• Work on an extra credit project/drawing
When you can and can’t use your
CAN:
During free studio time, but only with one earbud
in so that you may hear any announcements I
might have to make
CAN’T:
When anyone is presenting, during
demonstrations, observations, when
adults/teacher’s/staff enter.
SPECIAL NOTE: This policy is the
department’s policy… not the school’s policy.
Any kind of personal musical device is your own
personal responsibility!
Therefore, whatever happens to your
iPod/phone in this class is on YOU!
