Grooming Supplies, Leashes & Collars, Training Tools, Furniture, Cages & Carriers, and Health &
Nutritional Products. Our Client is known as an aggressive leader that boasts an impressive 99% fill rate
and timely delivery from Strategically located Distribution Facilities throughout the Nation.
LOCATION: Eastern U.S.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting directly to the Vice President of Marketing this position will be responsible for the Nationwide
development and execution of Brand Building and Marketing Plans involving High SKU, High Volume
Products serving as the Company expert to build and strengthen relationships with Vendors to track Sales
and leverage the partnership in a positive position. Duties include: Develop strategies to grow Brand Sales
through New, Innovative Ideas and Promotions; Identify Trends and Opportunities within the Market;
Regular communication with Suppliers to stay current, resolve day-to-day Brand inquiries while keeping
abreast of the Industry and Competitive Strategies; Researching, Analyzing and Evaluating Vendor
Promotion, Performance, Trends, Competitiveness and Visibility; Maximize Brand Sales by Developing,
Recommending, and Executing Marketing activities; Educate Sales Teams on Promotions, Products and
Brand/Market differentiators; Reviewing Performance Data including Financial, Sales & Activity Reports to
monitor and measure Productivity, Goal Tracking and Achievement , Promotional effectiveness, and Activity
levels; Conducting Internal Brand meetings with Marketing & Sales Management as well as Business
Planning meetings with Senior Management and the Executive Team; Attending various Trade Shows and
occasional travel with Sales Representatives in the Field and to Vendor Accounts (estimated at 20%
annually).
PERSONALITY: The ideal Candidate will be an energetic and enthusiastic leader with a motivational disposition and the
ability to organize & manage multiple activities while prioritizing objectives working with large, complex
Retail Customers and Vendors. Successful Candidates should be capable of developing short and long
term strategic plans, possess complex problem solving abilities and able to review and implement solutions
and exhibit a strong attention to detail, be able to work under pressure with strict time constraints and hold a
verifiable record of excellent communication (verbal & written) and presentation skills in a fast paced
professional Team environment:
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of (5) five years of professional experience in relationship building of Consumer Goods
Marketing/Product Development familiar with Retail and Wholesale Industries. Proficient in Sales and
Forecasting Demands working with computerized systems and spreadsheets in order to measure and
analyze efficiencies. Must possess extensive experience in all aspects of Supplier Relationship
Management. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including advanced use of Excel. AS400
experience desired. Strong preference given to those with Pet Industry experience. College Degreed in
Business, Marketing or related field, M.B.A. preferred.
COMPENSATION: Our Client has targeted a highly competitive Compensation Plan including a Base Salary (commensurate
with experience) plus Bonus. Benefits include: Comprehensive Health, Medical, Dental, Vision, Life
Insurance, 401k, Paid Holidays & Vacation, and Relocation Assistance.
