STRUCTURAL RESPONSE CONTROL OF RCC MOMENT RESISTING FRAME USING FLUID VISCOUS...IAEME Publication
Frequent earthquakes round the globe and large no of structures vulnerable to it have
necessitated the need for structural response control to gain pace in application around the
globe. This paper discusses the use and effectiveness of one such device, fluid viscous dampers,
for response control of structures and to reduce damping demand on structural system. In this
paper a non-linear time history analysis has been carried out on a 3D model of a 12 story RCC
MRF building using 3-directional synthetic accelerogram. Two different cases of building
models with and without supplemental damping have been analyzed using ETABS. The story
responses in terms of absolute maximum displacement and story drift have been compared.
Time history response plots for the two models have also been compared for various responses
viz. roof displacement and acceleration, base shear and story shear forces, along with the
various energy components and damping behavior. The results of the time history analysis are
in close conformation with previous investigations and represent the effectiveness of dampers
in improving the structural response as well as damping demand on structural systems

The primary requirement of humans on planet earth is food, clothing and shelter. Prehistoric men and women used to live on trees but steadily they started developing the shelters for protection against natural calamities like rains, cold etc. and also from attack against wild animals. Soon humans grew in knowledge and they started living together, forming communities to ensure additional security and man became a social animal. Now these communities developed and started exploding forming villages which later on transformed into cities and became the commercial centres of a region. Soon within these commercial centres, land for horizontal expansion became extinct. The social animal started expanding vertically constructing multi storied structures. The present study focuses on 12 levelled multi storey structure. The structures are considered to be located at various seismic zones. The Performance of the structure is found out by static nonlinear structure. Further, these structures are provided with seismic dampers. The Modelling and analysis are carried out using ETABS software. The performance of these structures is studied and compared using various parameters such as displacement, storey drift, base shear and time period. Along with these results performance of building is predicted based on demand capacity graphs. The results are extracted and conclusions are drawn. From the pushover analysis, the performance point is found out for all the models. And also, it found that, weakest junctions of the models. The Pushover analysis shows the models with dampers are having base shear than the models without damper. The increase in percentage of base shear is around 45 . The introduction of damper causes the improvement in lateral load carrying capacity by 45 . The base shear values are lesser for Zone II and highest for Zone V. There is a linear increase in base shear values for increase in severity of zones. From the pushover analysis base shear, it is noticed that all the models are having lesser base shear values in case of equivalent static analysis than pushover analysis except Model type A4. This shows that, the model Type A4 is UNSAFE. The models can be made SAFE by introducing Dampers as in Models Type B4. Ritu T Raj | Dr. S Vijaya | Dr. B Shivakumara Swamy | Mary Bhagya Jyothi. SEISMIC RESPONSE OF UNSYMMETRIC BUILDING WITH OPTIMALLY PLACED FRICTION DAMPERSIAEME Publication
Conventional methods of seismic rehabilitation with concrete shear walls or steel bracing
are not considered suitable for some buildings as upgrades with these methods would have
required expensive and time consuming foundation work. Supplemental damping in
conjunction with appropriate stiffness offers an innovative and attractive solution for the
seismic rehabilitation of such structures. This paper deals with the use of friction damper as a
passive dissipative device in order to seismic retrofit of existing structures and discusses the
optimal placement criteria. To fulfill this objective, six storey and ten storey L-shaped
buildings have been modeled with five different damper location formats in SAP2000 subjected
to El Centro and Utterkashi earthquake records. Non-Linear Modal Time History Method has
been used for the analysis and base shear, joint displacement, member forces and hysteresis
energy has been compared to find out most optimal damper location format.

storey in which the stiffness is less than 70% of the storey above or less
than 80% of the combined stiffnesses of the three storeys above. It is the general practice in the multistoreyed buildings to
accommodate parking facilities for the vehicles of the occupants of the building. As we know that the soft storey in a building
structure causes stiffness irregularity in a structure, due to this the structure undergoes unequal storey drifts, formation of the
plastic hinges and then finally resulting into the collapse of the structure. This research work purely interacts with the effect of the
soft storeys in the analysis of RC framed structures as entitled above, and in this work the soft storeys positions has been provided
at different levels as shown in the analytical modelling. All the models are analyzed by using the ETABS software. The seismic
analysis performed consists of the Equivalent static analysis (ESA), response spectrum analysis (RSA), and the push over analysis
(PA). The seismic base shear forces, storey drifts, and the displacements has been compared with the three analysis methods as
listed above. With the aid of the push over analysis the values of the ductility and the response reduction factor have been

Dynamic Analysis of RC Multi-storeyed Building - A Comparative Studyijsrd.com
In India with a seismic moderate zone, the equivalent static force method to estimate the seismic force, subsequent vulnerability and behavior of RC building under seismic load is inadequate. The main goal of this paper is to show how the modal analysis can contribute to the understanding the behavior of building using Response Spectrum Method. In this study, Dynamic Analysis of four storied Reinforced Concrete building was investigated using Staad pro and Etabs software packages. For this, Response Spectrum Method was used to evaluate the base shear, frequency, modal mass participation and the mode shapes of the building have been plotted for 15 frequencies. Seismic Zone 3 has been considered and base shear was calculated as per the procedure recommended by IS 1893-2002. The results shows that only slight variation in frequencies and modal participation factors was observed as each software has its own way of considering the mass.
Prediction of Fatigue Life of Boom Nose End Casting Using Linear Elastic Frac...IJERA Editor
The main objective of this study is to get the life estimation of Boom nose end casting using theoretical approach and compaired it with finite element method. Therefore, this study consists of three major sections : (1) dynamic load analysis (2) FEM and stress analysis (3) prediction of fatigue life for Boom nose end casting. In this study a dynamic loads were obtained from cyclic loading at different time. Finite element analysis was performed to obtain the variation of stress magnitude at the crack locations. This loads and boundary condition were applied to the FE model in ANSYS. The analysis was carried out for different crack length on the surface area of circle of Boom Nose End Casting. As a result, fatigue life for different crack length on the Boom Nose End Casting is obtained. The main objective of this study is to investigate the fatigue life of Boom Nose End Casting under complex loading conditions. Due to the repeated bending and tensile loading acting, Boom Nose End Casting fails, as cracks forms in surface area of circle. Hence, fatigue plays an important role in Boom Nose End Casting development. Accurate prediction of fatigue life is very important to insure safety of components and its reliability. The Linear Elastic Fracture Mechanics approach is used to predict the fatigue life of Boom Nose End Casting.
Performance Levels of RC Structures by Non-Linear Pushover AnalysisIJERA Editor
In the recent earthquakes in which many concrete structures have been severely damaged or collapsed, have indicated the need for evaluating the seismic adequacy of existing buildings. About 60% of the land area of our country is susceptible to damaging levels of seismic hazard. We can’t avoid future earthquakes, but preparedness and safe building construction practices can certainly reduce the extent of damage and loss. In order to strengthen and resist the buildings for future earthquakes, the behavior of a building during earthquakes depends critically on its overall shape, size and geometry. The nonlinear pushover analysis is becoming a popular tool for seismic performance evaluation of existing and new structures. The weak zones in the structure can be examined by conducting this push over analysis and then it will be decided whether the particular part is to be retrofitted or rehabilitated according to the requirement. This method determines the base shear capacity of the building and performance levels of each part of building under varying intensity of seismic force. The results of effects of different plan on seismic response of buildings have been presented in terms of displacement, base shear and plastic hinge pattern

Abstract
From past earthquakes it is proved that many of structure are totally or partially damaged due to earthquake. So, it is necessary to determine seismic responses of such buildings. There are different techniques of seismic analysis of structure. Time history analysis is one of the important techniques for structural seismic analysis generally the evaluated structural response is non-linear in nature. For such type of analysis, a representative earthquake time history is required. In this project work seismic analysis of RCC buildings with mass irregularity at different floor level are carried out. Here for analysis different time histories have been used. This paper highlights the effect of mass irregularity on different floor in RCC buildings with time history and analysis is done by using ETABS software.

This study is carried out to investigate the seismic behaviour of the structure having various structural configurations
like OMRF (Ordinary Moment Resisting Frames), SMRF (Special Moment Resisting Frames) using different softwares i.e.
Stadd.Pro & Etabs. A comparative study of all the types of frames will shed light on the best suited frame to be adopted for seismic
loads in Indian scenario. For this purpose, a G+6 storey R.C.C. regular building are analysed for OMRCF, SMRCF framing
configurations in Seismic Zone III & IV according to Indian codes. Linear static Analysis or Equivalent static Analysis are carried
out to evaluate their structural efficiencies in terms of storey drifts, average storey displacement, Time period. In OMRF structures
the design and detailing of reinforcement are executed as per the guide lines of I.S. 456-2000 which make the structure less tough
and ductile in comparison of SMRF structures. The basic approach of earthquake resistant design should be based on lateral
strength as well as deformability and ductility capacity of structure .In SMRF structures Beams, columns, and beam-column joints
are proportioned and detailed as per I.S. code 13920(2002) which give adequate toughness and ductility to resist severe earthquake
shock without collapse. Thus it has been observed that SMRF structures behave well in earthquake than OMRF structures.

Searching is one of the important operations in computer science. Retrieving information from
huge databases takes a lot of processing time to get the results. The user has to wait till the completion
of processing to find whether search is successful or not. In this research paper, it provides a detailed
study of Binary Search and how the time complexity of Binary Search can be reduced by using Odd
Even Based Binary Search Algorithm, which is an extension of classical binary search strategy. The
worst case time complexity of Binary Search can be reduced from O(log2N) to O(log2(N-M)) where
N is total number of items in the list and M is total number of even numbers if search KEY is ODD
or M is total number of odd numbers if search KEY is EVEN. Whenever the search KEY is given, first
the KEY is determined whether it is odd or even. If given KEY is odd, then only odd numbers from
the list are searched by completely ignoring list of even numbers. If given KEY is even, then only
even numbers from the list are searched by completely ignoring list of odd numbers. The output of
Odd Even Based algorithm is given as an input to Binary Search algorithm. Using Odd Even Based
Binary Search algorithm, the worst case performances in Binary Search algorithm are converted
into best case or average case performance. Therefore, it reduces total number of comparisons, time
complexity and usage of various computer resources.
ANALYSIS OF STEEL FRAMES WITH BRACINGS FOR SEISMIC LOADSIAEME Publication
In recent decants steel structure had played an important role in construction
industry. Providing strength, stability, ductility for buildings designed for seismic
loads. It is necessary to design a structure that can withstand under seismic loads.
Providing steel knee braces is one of the structural systems used to resist earthquake
forces on structures. Steel bracing is economical, easy to erect and occupies less
space which is flexible to design to meet the required strength and stiffness. There are
various types of steel bracing (X, knee bracing). In knee brace frame system (KBFS)
the non-buckling diagonal bracing provide most of the lateral stiffness, the flexural
yielding of knee element. In our project a 6 storey steel frame building with knee
bracing system with floor plan of 9 m x 9m is considered. We studied the performance
of a 6 storied steel frame building with knee bracing system and compared with bare
frame. Pushover analysis, equivalent static analysis, Response Spectrum analysis,
Time history analysis is performed in ETABS based on IS 1893:2002 (part 1)
guidelines. The manual calculation was done on the basis of Equivalent static analysis
and Response spectrum analysis to find out base shear for foundation and lateral
force for each storey deck slab and compared the values with bare frame. Depending
on the complexity in the problem for bracing models, we had used Etabs software in
order to analysis the Base shear and lateral shear. The results were plotted in the
form of graphs and tables for their inter storey drift and inter storey displacement.

Cost Comparative Study On Steel Frame Folded Plate Roofing System Vs Conventi...IJERA Editor
Due to ever-increasing of construction materials, it becomes the foremost duty of a civil engineer to design economical and durable structures. In this project an attempt has been made to compare the cost of two types of roofing systems viz. conventional truss roofing system and steel frame folded plate roofing system. The steel frame folded plate roofing system, though found to be economical, is not widely practiced in India due to lack of knowledge regarding its analysis and design. On contrary to it, the conventional truss roofing system still remains as the widely adopted method of roofing for different types of buildings due to the available literature on its analysis, design and construction. The analysis and design of conventional truss roofing system and folded plate roofing system have been carried out for various spans. The analysis is carried out in STAAD.Pro 2004, which is based on stiffness method. Load calculations and design done manually, based on IS:875-1987, IS:800-1984 & SP:38(1987)

MODELING AND ANALYSIS OF SURFACE ROUGHNESS AND WHITE LATER THICKNESS IN WIRE-...IAEME Publication
White layer thickness (WLT) formed and surface roughness in wire electric discharge turning (WEDT) of tungsten carbide composite has been made to model through response surface methodology (RSM). A Taguchi’s standard Design of experiments involving five input variables with three levels has been employed to establish a mathematical model between input parameters and responses. Percentage of cobalt content, spindle speed, Pulse on-time, wire feed and pulse off-time were changed during the experimental tests based on the Taguchi’s orthogonal array L27 (3^13). Analysis of variance (ANOVA) revealed that the mathematical models obtained can adequately describe performance within the parameters of the factors considered. There was a good agreement between the experimental and predicted values in this study.
A STUDY ON THE REASONS FOR TRANSGENDER TO BECOME ENTREPRENEURSIAEME Publication
The study explores the reasons for a transgender to become entrepreneurs. In this study transgender entrepreneur was taken as independent variable and reasons to become as dependent variable. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire containing a five point Likert Scale. The study examined the data of 30 transgender entrepreneurs in Salem Municipal Corporation of Tamil Nadu State, India. Simple Random sampling technique was used. Economic advancement of a nation is governed upon the upshot of a resolute entrepreneurial doings. The conception of entrepreneurship has stretched and materialized to the socially deflated uncharted sections of transgender community. Presently transgenders have smashed their stereotypes and are making recent headlines of achievements in various fields of our Indian society. The trans-community is gradually being observed in a new light and has been trying to achieve prospective growth in entrepreneurship. The findings of the research revealed that the optimistic changes are taking place to change affirmative societal outlook of the transgender for entrepreneurial ventureship. It also laid emphasis on other transgenders to renovate their traditional living. The paper also highlights that legislators, supervisory body should endorse an impartial canons and reforms in Tamil Nadu Transgender Welfare Board Association.
BROAD UNEXPOSED SKILLS OF TRANSGENDER ENTREPRENEURSIAEME Publication
Since ages gender difference is always a debatable theme whether caused by nature, evolution or environment. The birth of a transgender is dreadful not only for the child but also for their parents. The pain of living in the wrong physique and treated as second class victimized citizen is outrageous and fully harboured with vicious baseless negative scruples. For so long, social exclusion had perpetuated inequality and deprivation experiencing ingrained malign stigma and besieged victims of crime or violence across their life spans. They are pushed into the murky way of life with a source of eternal disgust, bereft sexual potency and perennial fear. Although they are highly visible but very little is known about them. The common public needs to comprehend the ravaged arrogance on these insensitive souls and assist in integrating them into the mainstream by offering equal opportunity, treat with humanity and respect their dignity. Entrepreneurship in the current age is endorsing the gender fairness movement. Unstable careers and economic inadequacy had inclined one of the gender variant people called Transgender to become entrepreneurs. These tiny budding entrepreneurs resulted in economic transition by means of employment, free from the clutches of stereotype jobs, raised standard of living and handful of financial empowerment. Besides all these inhibitions, they were able to witness a platform for skill set development that ignited them to enter into entrepreneurial domain. Living in 21st century in itself reminds all of us the necessity of police and its administration. As more and more we are entering into the modern society and culture, the more we require the services of the so called ‘Khaki Worthy’ men i.e., the police personnel. Whether we talk of Indian police or the other nation’s police, they all have the same recognition as they have in India. But as already mentioned, their services and requirements are different after the like 26th November, 2008 incidents, where they without saving their own lives has sacrificed themselves without any hitch and without caring about their respective family members and wards. In other words, they are like our heroes and mentors who can guide us from the darkness of fear, militancy, corruption and other dark sides of life and so on. Now the question arises, if Gandhi would have been alive today, what would have been his reaction/opinion to the police and its functioning? Would he have some thing different in his mind now what he had been in his mind before the partition or would he be going to start some Satyagraha in the form of some improvement in the functioning of the police administration? Really these questions or rather night mares can come to any one’s mind, when there is too much confusion is prevailing in our minds, when there is too much corruption in the society and when the polices working is also in the questioning because of one or the other case throughout the India. It is matter of great concern that we have to thing over our administration and our practical approach because the police personals are also like us, they are part and parcel of our society and among one of us, so why we all are pin pointing towards them.

ROLE OF SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN RURAL DEVELOPMENT OF INDIA - PROBLEMS AND ...IAEME Publication
The majority of the population in India lives in villages. The village is the back bone of the country. Village or rural industries play an important role in the national economy, particularly in the rural development. Developing the rural economy is one of the key indicators towards a country’s success. Whether it be the need to look after the welfare of the farmers or invest in rural infrastructure, Governments have to ensure that rural development isn’t compromised. The economic development of our country largely depends on the progress of rural areas and the standard of living of rural masses. Village or rural industries play an important role in the national economy, particularly in the rural development. Rural entrepreneurship is based on stimulating local entrepreneurial talent and the subsequent growth of indigenous enterprises. It recognizes opportunity in the rural areas and accelerates a unique blend of resources either inside or outside of agriculture. Rural entrepreneurship brings an economic value to the rural sector by creating new methods of production, new markets, new products and generate employment opportunities thereby ensuring continuous rural development. Social Entrepreneurship has the direct and primary objective of serving the society along with the earning profits. So, social entrepreneurship is different from the economic entrepreneurship as its basic objective is not to earn profits but for providing innovative solutions to meet the society needs which are not taken care by majority of the entrepreneurs as they are in the business for profit making as a sole objective. So, the Social Entrepreneurs have the huge growth potential particularly in the developing countries like India where we have huge societal disparities in terms of the financial positions of the population. Still 22 percent of the Indian population is below the poverty line and also there is disparity among the rural & urban population in terms of families living under BPL. 25.7 percent of the rural population & 13.7 percent of the urban population is under BPL which clearly shows the disparity of the poor people in the rural and urban areas. The need to develop social entrepreneurship in agriculture is dictated by a large number of social problems. Such problems include low living standards, unemployment, and social tension. The reasons that led to the emergence of the practice of social entrepreneurship are the above factors. The research problem lays upon disclosing the importance of role of social entrepreneurship in rural development of India. The paper the tendencies of social entrepreneurship in India, to present successful examples of such business for providing recommendations how to improve situation in rural areas in terms of social entrepreneurship development. Indian government has made some steps towards development of social enterprises, social entrepreneurship, and social in- novation, but a lot remains to be improved.
OPTIMAL RECONFIGURATION OF POWER DISTRIBUTION RADIAL NETWORK USING HYBRID MET...IAEME Publication
Distribution system is a critical link between the electric power distributor and the consumers. Most of the distribution networks commonly used by the electric utility is the radial distribution network. Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
