 The site must be attached to a clinic

 In a busy market
 Growing city extension
 Closed to the railway station or bus
1) ATTACHED TO A CLINIC:
This is the most suitable site for opening a pharmacy .prescriber will send
you a very good number of prescription based on your rapport with him
and the service you give to your clients.
2) CLOSE BY TO CLINICS:
It is also considered as a good choice to pen a pharmacy close by to the
clinics in a colony or market area .advantages of opening the pharmacy in
such good prescription feed from the general practioner.
3.NEARLY TO HOSPITAL: Opening a pharmacy nearby to a
government general hospital or any other secondary care or tertiary
care hospital is a good idea. The pharmacist requires maintaining
wide variety of product range with different brand.
4) IN A BUSY MARKET:
Busy markets are also considered as right choice for opening the
pharmacies due to increased movement of public in this area.
5) GROWING CITY EXTENSION:
Growing city extensions are also good site for opening community
pharmacies. People in such areas find difficulties in going to market
for emergency requirements of medicines.
6) CLOSED TO THE RAILWAY STATION OR BUS STATION:
Railway stations and bus stations are also considered as good location for
opening the pharmacies. The required medicines to get immediate relief
for acute conditions such as common cold or body aches.

 Clear visibility of pharmacy
 Expansion opportunity for the exists spaces
 Facilities for temperatures control for thermos level medicine
 Separate storage space for the poison and schedule X drugs
 Government an important role in the choice of keeping in a view of the national
benefits
Clear navigation with the land, lord, regarding rent or lease of the pharmacy.
SPACE LAYOUT:
Space layout is the method of allotting machines equipment’s various production process
and other necessary service involved in the factory so as to perform various operation in
the transformation process of a product with the available space of the factory so as to
perform various operation in the most
efficiency and convert manner providing output of high quality and
minimum coast.
Objectives of good pharmacy layout;
 To attract the maximum no of customers
 Provide an opportunity for the customers to purchase more
 Create pleasure atmosphere in the pharmacy and provide basic
equipment for the clients with maximum no.of utilization.
 Provide customers convenience and satisfaction
 Minimum the salary expenses through lay efficiency and space
utilization
BASED THE LAYOUT AND DESIGN THE
PHARMACIST ARE CLASSIFIED THREE TYPES:
 Prescription oriented traditional pharmacy design
 Super drug store pharmacy design
 Pharmacy with pharmaceutical care services.
PRESCRIPTION ORIENTED TRADITIONAL DESIGN
These are the traditional drug stores which are commonly
seen in the market or street side .major objective of such
pharmacies is to serve the customers through filling
maximum number of prescriptions and sale of other
products to increase the business volume.in such
pharmacies ,the lay out will include a cash counter with
facilities for billing and collection of the cash.
SUPER DRUG STORE PHARMACY DESIGN:
Super drug store pharmacy designs are more common in the western world.
The pharmacies will provide opportunity for purchase of both prescription
and other general health care items, cosmetics, baby care, eye care, and
other gift items
PHARMACY WITH PHARMACEUTICAL CARE SERVICES
DESIGN:
Pharmaceutical care is a responsible provision of drug therapy
to achieve the desired therapeutic goals. Pharmacies with
pharmaceutical care services will have separate patient care area
for offering counselling and health screening services along
with area for display of medicines and other care items
supported with sales man services.

  • 3. SELECTION OF SITE  The site must be attached to a clinic  Closed by the clinic  Near to the hospital  In a busy market  Growing city extension  Closed to the railway station or bus
  • 4. 1) ATTACHED TO A CLINIC: This is the most suitable site for opening a pharmacy .prescriber will send you a very good number of prescription based on your rapport with him and the service you give to your clients. 2) CLOSE BY TO CLINICS: It is also considered as a good choice to pen a pharmacy close by to the clinics in a colony or market area .advantages of opening the pharmacy in such good prescription feed from the general practioner.
  • 5. 3.NEARLY TO HOSPITAL: Opening a pharmacy nearby to a government general hospital or any other secondary care or tertiary care hospital is a good idea. The pharmacist requires maintaining wide variety of product range with different brand. 4) IN A BUSY MARKET: Busy markets are also considered as right choice for opening the pharmacies due to increased movement of public in this area. 5) GROWING CITY EXTENSION: Growing city extensions are also good site for opening community pharmacies. People in such areas find difficulties in going to market for emergency requirements of medicines.

PRESCRIPTION ORIENTED TRADITIONAL DESIGN These are the traditional drug stores which are commonly seen in the market or street side .major objective of such pharmacies is to serve the customers through filling maximum number of prescriptions and sale of other products to increase the business volume.in such pharmacies ,the lay out will include a cash counter with facilities for billing and collection of the cash.
  • 10. SUPER DRUG STORE PHARMACY DESIGN: Super drug store pharmacy designs are more common in the western world. The pharmacies will provide opportunity for purchase of both prescription and other general health care items, cosmetics, baby care, eye care, and other gift items PHARMACY WITH PHARMACEUTICAL CARE SERVICES DESIGN: Pharmaceutical care is a responsible provision of drug therapy to achieve the desired therapeutic goals. Pharmacies with pharmaceutical care services will have separate patient care area for offering counselling and health screening services along with area for display of medicines and other care items supported with sales man services.
