Solution to the Traffic Problem
Pune Traffic Police department requires a modern framework to manage the growing traffic and the growing boundaries of the city. They also have a requirement to digitize records and administration of fines in order to prevent corruption. They are keen to involve citizens to backfill the shortage of police staff. The project calls for a total redesign of their technology and tools from scratch.

As we seen everyday vehicle traffic increases day by day on road is causing many issues. We face many traffic jams due to the inefficient traffic controlling system which is unable to cope up with the current scenario of traffic in our country. To overcome such drastic scenario and looking at current traffic volume we need to develop a system which works on real time processing and works after determining the traffic density and then calculating the best possibility in which the traffic on particular cross road is dissolved. Also, it helps in saving time as on traffic roads. In present traffic control system when there is no traffic on road but the static signal not allow traffic to move to cross and it changes after at fixed interval so at every cycle this amount of time is wasted for unused traffic density road and if one road is at high traffic it continuously grows till human intervention. The basic theme is to control the traffic using static cameras fixed on right side of the road along top of the traffic pole to check the complete traffic density on other side of the road. This system will calculate number of vehicles on the road by moving detection and tracking system developed based on optical flow estimation and green light counter will be based on the calculated number of vehicles on the road.

Application of Cumulative Axle Model To Impute Missing Traffic Data in Defect...IJERDJOURNAL
Abstract: An automatic vehicle classification (AVC) station is typically composed of three sensors per lane. Instances of data missing from the traffic datasets collected at such stations can occur as a result of issues such as one of the sensors malfunctioning. Although various data imputation methods, such as autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA), exponential smoothing, and interpolation, have been proposed to deal with this problem, they are either too complicated or have significant errors. This paper proposes a model, called the “cumulative axle model,” that minimizes such errors in traffic volume data resulting from a malfunctioning sensor at AVC stations. Evaluations conducted in which missing traffic volume data imputation was simulated using the proposed cumulative axle model indicate that our method has a mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) of 2.92%. This is significantly more accurate than that of conventional imputation methods, which achieve a MAPE of only 10% on average.

is the existence of obstacles on the tracks, either fixed or mobile. This project deals about one of the
efficient methods to avoid train collision and obstacle detection. A GPS system is being used to
pinpoint the location of faults on tracks. The project presents a solution, to provide an intelligent
train tracking and management system to improve the existing railway transport service. The solution
is based on powerful combination of mobile computing, Global System for Mobile Communication
(GSM), Global Positioning System (GPS) technologies and software. The inbuilt GPS module
identifies the train location with a highest accuracy and transfers the information to the central
system. The availability of the information allows the train Controller to take accurate decisions as
for the train location. Positioning data along with train speed helps the central system to identify the
possible safety issues and react to them effectively using the communication methods provided by
the system.

In this paper, a two stage fuzzy logic system has been proposed to control an isolated intersection adaptively. The aim of this work is to minimize the average waiting time for a different traffic flow rates in real time means. In the first stage, the system consists of two modules named next phase selection module and the green phase extension module. In the second stage the system consists of the decision named module. The study was performed using SUMO traffic simulator. A comparison is made between a fuzzy logic controller and a conventional fixed time controller. As a result, fuzzy logic controller has shown better performance. The focus of this paper is to develop and illustrate the working of a geographic information systems GIS based methodology to estimate congestion and assess reliability of links on a road network considering both recurring and nonrecurring congestion components by time period of the day.
The estimated reliability can be used to identify optimal travel paths and make better routing decisions
For this research data collected was for the city of Charlotte in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina which are used to demonstrate the methodology.

During recent years traffic congestion is become a serious problem in almost all cities. Due to the high density of traffic, pedestrians find it difficult to cross the road. Even though several advanced strategic plans are introduced to regulate the traffic but due to lack of provision for on- road pedestrian crossing, rate of accidents become very high. One such provision is given is elevated path for pedestrian to cross the road, but the elderly person finds it difficult to use that. Hence an idea is proposed to help the elderly people by giving provision for on- road pedestrian crossing in high density traffic areas like near schools, hospitals, markets, etc. which reduces the accidents rate also. To implement this, here an additional time delay is introduced in the traffic signal for pedestrian crossing in addition to vehicle crossing in all possible direction. Additionally, provision is given to track the vehicle which violates the traffic rules and to clear the traffic for emergency vehicles. All the above said three parameters can be simulated by using PROTEUS software.

The main problem is the traffic jams due to vehicle congestion phenomena at intersection. To solve this problem an intelligent traffic control system that continuously sensing and monitoring traffic conditions and adjusting the timing of traffic lights according to the actual traffic load must be implemented. At present , a variety of traffic control has been designed using electrical technologies.Traffic load is highly dependent on parameters such as day-time , season weather and unpredictable situationssuch as accidents, special events or construction activities, these parameters will cause delay on the traffic flow. The traffic system in Libya is still controlled by old fashion ( i.e equally time interval signal control)and no intelligent system used to monitor and control the traffic flow. Optimized Traffic Signal Control System at Traffic Intersections Using VanetIOSR Journals
Abstract: Traditional Automated traffic signal control systems normally schedule the vehicles at intersection in
a pre timed slot manner. This pre-timed controller approach fails to minimize the waiting time of vehicles at the
traffic intersection as it doesn’t consider the arrival time of vehicles. To overcome this problem an adaptive and
intelligent traffic control system is proposed in such a way that a traffic signal controller with wireless radio
installed at the intersection and it is considered as an infrastructure. All the vehicles are equipped with onboard
location, speed sensors and a wireless radio to communicate with the infrastructure thereby VANET is formed.
Once the vehicles enter into the boundary of traffic area, they broadcast their positional information as data
packet with their encapsulated ID in it. The controller at the intersection receives the transmitted packets from
all the legs of intersection and then stores it in a temporary log file. Now the controller runs Platooning
algorithm to group the vehicles approximately in equal size of platoons. The platoons are formed on the basis of
data disseminated by the vehicles. Then the controller runs Oldest Job First algorithm which treats platoons as
jobs. The algorithm schedules jobs in conflict free manner and ensures all the jobs utilize equal processing time

Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

TRAFFIC MONITORING SYSTEMS
ABSTRACT
Using a stochastic approach, this paper explores and models the basic
stochastic characteristics of freeway traffic behavior under a wide range of traffic
conditions during peak Periods and then applies the models to short-term traffic
speed prediction. The speed transition probabilities are estimated from real-world
30-s speed data over a six-year period at three different locations along the 38-mi
corridor of Interstate 4 (I-4) in Orlando, FL. The cumulative negative / positive
transition probabilities and expected values are derived from the transition
probabilities and fitted using logistic and exponential models, respectively. The
expected values associated with the most likely transition of speed are then derived
from the fitted models and used for predicting speed. Each predicted speed is also
associated with a probability value, indicating the chance of observing the
occurrence of such transition. The prediction performance was compared for three
methods using the root mean square errors (RMSEs). The weighted average
method was very close to the higher probability method in most cases. For the two
probabilistic methods, the performance was slightly better for the morning peak
periods than the evening peak period or all data combined. While the prediction
performance of the probabilistic models was comparable with those of other

methods found in the literature, the probabilistic approach based on the higher
probability provides estimates of the associated probability with each prediction.
This provides a measure of confidence in the predicted values before such
information is disseminated to the public by traffic agencies.
We have circumstantially analyzed traffic accidents in the tunnel by data
from video cameras installed in the tunnel. They are practically used for
surveillance by the traffic management. In saturated traffic, vehicles do not move
at constant speed. They repeat high and low speed over a period of time. When the
traffic density is low, vehicles run at 40 km/h. In contrast, when the traffic density
is high, vehicles are almost stalled. In this situation, rapid speed difference is
caused between low and high-density parts. Therefore rear-end accidents caused by
Speed differential are more likely to occur. In traffic jam situation, incidents occur
at a low speed about 10 km/h. It would appear that the driver’s carelessness causes
these incidents.
From the analysis, it was clear that 70% of these accidents originate in the
speed differential in saturated traffic, and the remaining 30% occurs when a driver
goes at a low speed without attention. In this paper, the system to prevent the
accident of the former type with high possibility of causing a serious accident is
constructed. It is mentioned that such a situation is tunnel, but is also noticed as a
common factor of traffic accidents in some places. Therefore this solution is
thought to be effective on any road where saturated traffic occurs.

The system consists of three parts: vehicle tracking part, detection part and
information providing part. First, an average velocity of traffic flow and also the
average size of the vehicle is calculated from a result of the vehicle tracking part
Secondly, surveillance video cameras that have already been installed in the tunnel
are utilized to observe a condition of traffic flow. And finally depending upon the
number of vehicles and their size inside the tunnel, the remaining number of
vehicles that can pass through the tunnel can be displayed on LCD at outside the
tunnel, so that drivers could get an awareness of vehicles’ space available inside
the tunnel.
EXISTING SYSTEM
This memo defines a portion of the Management Information Base (MIB)

example, Multi-Protocol Label Switched Paths. The MIB module defined by this

PROPOSED SYSTEM
This study describes the development of a vision sensor for detecting shock
waves which is one of the main factors of accidents in highway traffic flow. The
major contributions of this research are development of vehicle tracking and
detection of shock wave in saturated traffic. Moreover, realization of a vehicle
infrastructure integration system for providing arrival Information of such
propagation to drivers is proposed. Therefore a prediction technique at the arrival
time of the propagation is integrated in the authors’ system. By using this
prediction technique and taking the error tolerance of drivers into account, the
experimental results show that prediction success rates are improved by about 5%.
