However, some groups like pregnant women and children may be more sensitive to caffeine and should limit their intake to under 300 mg and 2.5 mg per kg of body weight, respectively, to avoid potential negative effects. While caffeine has some stimulant effects, coffee also contains antioxidants and compounds that may provide health benefits when consumed in moderation.
