Notes From the Harp
From Dust to Clay we have been made
From the dust the Lord made man
Into an image as shapeable as clay
We are as numerous as the sand
Yet God made us in His own planned way
From earth we came
To till the same
To grow through life and make our names
That will again return to the earth someday
Help me Lord to be humble
As shapeable as clay
Help me not to proudly stumble
Help me Lord I pray
I am nothing to your awesome power
Help me Lord to always be
A servant growing like a flower
From the earth where you made me
Life, dear Lord will throw its blows
While
And strife, dear Lord has turned us cold
Help us Lord to turn back to you
Please dear Lord! See us through
Oh thou Potter design in me
A will to learn please set me free
From the anchor that sin has cast on me
Help me be a pure design for thee
We will study thy word oh God
And it shall be our melting pot
That we throw ourselves into
As we come out purely clean and new
For through your power we are saved
Yes
From dust to clay we have been made

Jesus the Good Shepherd – Part 3
The Good Shepherd knows His sheep.
Jesus said that, “But he who enters by the
door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 "To
him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep
hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep
by name and leads them out (Jn. 10:2, 3).
The good Shepherd knows his sheep by name.
Jesus is the Good Shepherd (Jn. 10:11), and
He knows us by our names. He knew Simonr
by name. Andrew was one who heard John the
Baptist speak of Jesus as “the Lamb of God”
and therefore chose to follow Him. Then An-
drew found his own brother Simon telling him
“we have found the Messiah.” When Jesus saw
Simon He said to him, “You are Simon the
son of Jonah. You shall be called
Cephas” (Jn. 1:42). Jesus also knew Zac-
cheus. Zaccheus had sought to see who Jesus
was and when he was unable to do because he
was of short stature, he ran ahead and climbed
up into a sycamore tree. In the book of Luke we
are told that, “when Jesus came to the place,
He looked up and saw him, and said to him,
"Zacchaeus, make haste and come down,
for today I must stay at your house” (Luke
19:5). Likewise Jesus has intimate knowledge
of us. For example when Jesus first saw Na-
thaniel coming to Him He said of him, “Behold,
an Israelite indeed, in whom is no deceit!”
When Nathaniel asked how Jesus knew him,
Jesus replied, “Before Philip called you,
when you were under the fig tree, I saw
you” (Jn. 1:47,48). His knowledge of who Na-
thaniel was led Nathaniel to proclaim, “Rabbi,
You are the Son of God!” (Jn. 1:49).
The knowledge that Jesus has of us, of
our very nature, is evidence that he is the Good
Shepherd. While all sheep are alike in their fun-
damental nature, each has its own distinctive
characteristics. The good shepherd recognizes
these and deals with each of his sheep differ-
ently but with the same love for all of them. So
also we are distinct in our characteristics and
yet Jesus knows everything about us and treats
us in keeping with the knowledge that He has
of us. In John2:24, 25 we are told of Jesus that
“He knew all men, 25 and had no need that
anyone should testify of man, for He knew
what was in man.”

Jesus said that, “But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 "To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out (Jn. 10:2, 3). The good Shepherd knows his sheep by name. Jesus is the Good Shepherd (Jn. 10:11), and He knows us by our names. He knew Simonr by name. Andrew was one who heard John the Baptist speak of Jesus as “the Lamb of God” and therefore chose to follow Him. Then An- drew found his own brother Simon telling him “we have found the Messiah.” When Jesus saw Simon He said to him, “You are Simon the son of Jonah. You shall be called Cephas” (Jn. 1:42). Jesus also knew Zac- cheus. Zaccheus had sought to see who Jesus was and when he was unable to do because he was of short stature, he ran ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree. In the book of Luke we are told that, “when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, "Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house” (Luke 19:5). Likewise Jesus has intimate knowledge of us. For example when Jesus first saw Na- thaniel coming to Him He said of him, “Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no deceit!” When Nathaniel asked how Jesus knew him, Jesus replied, “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you” (Jn. 1:47,48). His knowledge of who Na- thaniel was led Nathaniel to proclaim, “Rabbi, You are the Son of God!” (Jn. 1:49). The knowledge that Jesus has of us, of our very nature, is evidence that he is the Good Shepherd. While all sheep are alike in their fun- damental nature, each has its own distinctive characteristics. The good shepherd recognizes these and deals with each of his sheep differ- ently but with the same love for all of them. So also we are distinct in our characteristics and yet Jesus knows everything about us and treats us in keeping with the knowledge that He has of us. In John2:24, 25 we are told of Jesus that “He knew all men, 25 and had no need that anyone should testify of man, for He knew what was in man.” -to be continued CIA CHRISTIANS IN ACTION EVERY TUESDAY @ 9:30 AM Save The Date Ladies Retreat October 13-14 Springville Camp & Conference Sign up sheet is in the foyer.
