Complete Thursday and Friday in DLR. Please remain silent
  so that your classmates may thoughtfully complete their
  work.
When you are finished, please swap your paper with a
 shoulder buddy (somebody next to you). If you have time,
 please take out a blank piece of paper and put a complete
 heading on it for your vocabulary quiz.

Accountability

In order to maximize our learning time and have time for cool
   projects, our class needs to work more efficiently.
Starting today, this class will receive a strike on the board each
   time somebody (it doesn’t matter which classmate) violates one
   of our respect guidelines we came up with yesterday.
After the third strike, I will issue a pop quiz that will be graded and
   entered as a regular grade in my grade book.
You will remain responsible for the work we should have been able
  to cover provided everyone was on track.
These same guidelines hold true for advisory.
Our guidelines for scholarly
        behavior and respect
1. Respect your classmates in your words and actions.

2. Listen when somebody else is talking.

3. Class time is for class activities.

4. Come to class prepared.

5. Follow the teacher’s directions.

6. Sit in your seat as a scholar sits in his/her seat.

7. Use your 2” voice, which is a whisper.
Being Respectful Has Its Rewards

Classmates will earn tickets for respectful and on-task
   behaviors.

Tickets may be redeemed for prizes.

We will keep track of tickets in the envelope provided and
 we’ll draw for a prize each Friday.

Correct GUM for your shoulder buddy.

Place your GUM and DLR in the green basket before you
   leave today.

Weekly GUM and DLRs that are turned in late will not receive
 credit.

  • 3. Accountability In order to maximize our learning time and have time for cool projects, our class needs to work more efficiently. Starting today, this class will receive a strike on the board each time somebody (it doesn’t matter which classmate) violates one of our respect guidelines we came up with yesterday. After the third strike, I will issue a pop quiz that will be graded and entered as a regular grade in my grade book. You will remain responsible for the work we should have been able to cover provided everyone was on track. These same guidelines hold true for advisory.
