2. Audience
The audience for this is going to be Liverpool supporters, there is a lot of variety
between fans when you consider different areas, so it depends on whether or not I
focus on fans purely from the Liverpool area, or I broaden it out to fans in the North of
England, fans in all of England and then also fans from all over the world. The vast
majority of fans are male, however that does not mean it is exclusively male as there a
lot of female fans who take the club just as seriously. This can also be applied for the
age as the age of fans varies a lot, however a lot of the younger fans may have less
interest and are going with their parents. The main age for fans that would be
interested in reading would probably be people around the ages of 25-45
3. Audience
The main location of most of the target audience would be people from Liverpool. If i am
targeting people from Liverpool as my main audience I would have to consider people’s political
views. Generally people from Liverpool have quite socialist views and are left wing. It is also a
place where it is not known for having the best living conditions and where people are not
always financially stable which potentially affects their political stance. This means that if i took
a more socialist approach in some opinions which could revolve around ticket prices for example
if it was an article, I would reference how I think they should be cheap. Especially given the
current circumstances in football where people feel like football was originally a “working mans
game” and now people are being priced out of it. This applies a lot to Liverpool fans a lot in
particular.
4. Audience
As I mentioned previously, gender is also an aspect of my audience which should be
considered. When this is looked into further it is apparent that the main target
audience definitely is men, despite there being a small, strong female following. I
could appeal to the part of the target audience which is male by using big bold
pieces of text or simple images with less text and not over crowd things, this is
because generally men are more likely to read something or take notice of it if it is
bold and simple. Also images of the football players, who are athletic etc, may
appeal to men as it is using masculine imagery. Both men and women respond
positively to imagery which uses attractive looking people. For example it would
combine the best of both worlds if I was to use a player who is incredibly popular
with the fans in general but also can be perceived to look good to women too.
