2. How does your magazine target the market
demographic?
 AGE- The target age group of my magazine are people
aged above 16 to mid twenties the reason for this is that it
is not likely people of a younger age would be allowed to
buy magazines which contains explicit language this is
something that is commonly affiliated with the genre hip-
hop, however as the children get older they may have
more disposable income and therefore they may buy the
magazine on a regular basis if they are fans of the hip-hop
genre.

3. AGE
My magazine targets this age group in many ways, one of which is through the
clothing worn by the models, snapbacks and hoodies are types clothing that are
commonly affiliated with teenagers and people in their early twenties.
Another way the target age group is targeted is by having models that are from
the same age group by doing this the target audience will feel that they can
relate to the magazine and this would therefore encourage them to read it.

4. How does your magazine target the market
demographic?
Gender- The magazine Urban Beatz is not gender
specific. However in my opinion I think the main buyers of
the magazine will be males as the colours used are generally
colours favoured by males also the artists that are
promoted are males and usually have explicit content in
their music and this is not something that most females
would listen to however there will be female readers.

5. How does your magazine target the market
demographic?
Ethnicity- This magazine is not targeted at a
specific ethnicity and is open to everyone however through
previous knowledge the main ethnicities that usually listen
to music of the genre hip-hop are African, Caribbean and
Asian people.

6. How does your magazine target the market
demographic?
Region-The region that this magazine is
targeted at is North East, the South East and West
Midlands the reason for this is because these three
regions contain very populated cities such as
Manchester, Birmingham and London these three
cities have a variety of culture including a hip-hop
culture.

7. How does your magazine target the market
demographic?
Sexuality- All sexualities are welcome to read the
magazine as there aren't any specific sexualities that are
more interested in hip-hop than another sexuality.

8. How does your magazine target the market
demographic?
Physical Ability- The only physical ability there
is required to read the magazine is the ability to see the text
and images as this the main factors of a magazine. Also the
person should be able to read it other than that there is not
any other specific physical ability that is required.

9. How does your magazine target the market
demographic?
Class-The genre hip-hop was previously created for the
entertainment of working class people however over time it
has and the target audience are now from many different
classes although many of the artists from the hip-hop genre
usually come from a working class background once they
are in the industry this also changes for them and the
content of their music is not targeted at a specific social
class. The price of the magazine may affect which social
class buys the magazine as some people may not be able to
afford to spend money on a magazine.

10. Age can determine the target audience but is not
the most important factor?
 In my opinion I believe that age is an important factor in determining
the target audience of my magazine however there are other factors
which have a higher importance in determining the target audience,
such as having the physical ability to read the magazine and specifically
magazines from the genre of hip-hop as they contain many images and
if and individual does not have eyesight it will be difficult for them to
understand the content of the magazine. Another important factor is
social class as there are individuals from the lower class who may not
be able to afford the magazine as they do not have enough disposable
income therefore this is an important factor in determining the target
audience. However age is still an important factor in determining the
target audience as people of younger age may not be targeted as there
may be explicit content in the magazine which may not be suitable for
people of a young age.

11. Is there an ideal readership you can create?
 The ideal readership that I can create is a male who is aged between
16 to 25 who is interested in the genre of hip-hop and is willing to
pay the price of the magazine on a monthly basis.
This is an individual who is my class mate who is a fan of hip-hop
and has given me guidance on the construction of my magazine,
he regularly buys magazines related to hip-hop such as XXL this
is a well known hip-hop magazine and it contains similar content
to my magazine Urban Beatz he is also a fan of many commercial
artists who are usually included in magazines such as Jay-Z and
French Montana, the magazine I have produced also contains
artists that are well known and are in the industry.
