My role as a sales assistant at Vans although only being there temporarily
has quickly helpedme in gaining experience within retail, my role with
Vans usually consisted of me being on the shop floor and approaching
customers in a friendly manner and assisting them with anything they
requiredhelp with, if I was not on the shop floor I would usually be in the
stockroom putting away the new stock.

2019
Duringmy time at Argos, I would often work in the stock room, doing a
task known as “picking” this involved me listening to a headset and going
round the stockroom and picking the items that were ordered. Doing this
demonstratedhow I could work well under pressure as often the orders
would pile up and it would be down to me to efficiently complete the
orders. I also occasionally worked on ‘collection’ upstairs. This helpedme
develop my interpersonal andcommunication skills with both customers
and colleagues. One of the main things I took away from my time at Argos
was how strong I believe my skills were when it came to working in a
team. This Is a skill I personally believe tobe one of the most important in
any job/career.
