World cup winner Paul Pogba is the front page footballer
for this ‘FourFourTwo’ football magazine. He is arguably
the worlds most commercialized footballer, his unique
hairstyles, funny antics and world class style of play
make for an incredibly popular individual, in and outside
the footballing world; therefore the idea to put him on
the front cover is a brilliant business strategy, which
would have brought in a large sum of money.
Furthermore linking him to Manchester United, the
biggest, most popular and most profitable football club
in world football, further increases the commercial value
of this particular magazine multiple times, enticing the
hundreds of millions Manchester United fans world wide
more so than just the average football fan.
Finally the bold title peering out either side of Paul
Pogba’s head, is the well known magazine brand
‘FourFourTwo’ of which this magazine is made by,
although it seems to playing second fiddle behind the
main eye-catching figure in front of it, Paul Pogba. You
can tell that they have realised that more readers of
their magazine care about the players and high quality
images on the front cover, over the actual text
surrounding it; therefore they kept that theme
throughout many, if not all of their magazines.

Firstly like all magazines by ‘FourFourTwo’ it has a
world renowned footballer on the front cover, this
time in Robert Lewandowski the prolific goal
scoring syndicate for German club Bayern Munich.
This alone is enough to draw the attention of many
football fans, as they like to know the personal
thoughts and feelings of a player of this calibre,
rather than to just be fed false facts by un-trust
worthy media sources. Secondly as you can see the
bold ‘FourFourTwo’ logo surrounding
Lewandowski’s head, has this burning effect to it
as if it were just ignited. This is smartly linked to
the ‘quote’ Lewandowski is saying “when you’re
hot you’re hot” which in turn gives a reason for the
burning logo; he’s on fire, in terms of how he is
playing.

Spanish goalkeeper David DeGea headlines on the
front cover of this Manchester United orientated
magazine, this alone will bring in sales from fans
and tourists alike. However having the #1
goalkeeper in world football and arguably
Manchester United’s best player as the main pull
factor of this magazine, the popularity will almost
certainly rise, as like I said previously fans and the
public like to know the personal thoughts and
feelings from the player themselves. As I
mentioned, this magazine is Manchester United
orientated which is the most popular football club
in world football and therefore adds to the amount
of sales. The angle at which this photo is taken
makes David look large and imposing, what most
people say a goalkeeper should be and that’s what
I think the photographers have tried to accomplish.

The most popular sport in the world, in the form of
football which appeals to anyone and everyone,
especially the national team which brings everyone
together.

Male football has dominated the footballing world for
decades and is mostly watched by the male
demographic over females. Therefore my magazine is
primarily aimed at males, as they are more likely to show
and interest, however that doesn’t restrict any females
whatsoever from purchasing and or reading my product.
Psychographic
Viewer friendly for
everyone
It’s a magazine on football and football related topics
such as fifa and pes, its not an offensive magazine in the
slightest as that would restrict younger audiences from
showing an interest.
Social Status
Anyone Football is an accepting sport, it allows for anyone to
watch it whomever you may be. From the multi billon
pound clubs like Manchester United and Real Madrid, to
those at the other end of the spectrum such as Luton
town and Sunderland everyone is in the same boat in
terms of their love for this game we call football. My
magazine won’t exclude the smaller clubs, but I will try
to include them as best I can.
