6. MOOD BOARD ANALYSIS
Is there any repetition in the images you have collected? Repeated
colours/images styles/fonts/tone/mood
• I have taken 4 of the images myself.
• The images use a similar colour scheme, to each other; green red, yellow,
black, white and blue. I will want to use these colours in my final product
because they are dark and create a mood and tone of a psychological thriller.
• Some have been taken from the movie ‘Overlord’ to show the type of body
horror I want in the trailer. They share the same colour tone and look.
• Some photos are screenshots from ‘The New Mutants’ trailer and they show
the feel I am going for.
How will your mood board influence your final product?
• The shots from the ‘New Mutants’ trailer have been selected because the trailer has the
right feel and tone I want for my trailer, in terms of camera work(close ups, long shots),
creepy music, filming locations and lighting. These trailers have all of those features that I
want in my final product.
7. INFORMAL PROPOSAL
Current Idea
Concept • A superhero horror movie about a 17 year old British autistic teenager, Mason Lewis, is constantly
being bullied at school and tormented by his family, discovers he has supernatural powers and is
struggling to understand and control them. But he wants to use them for good so he doesn’t hurt the
ones he loves.
Type of
products you
would make
• Official poster(s)
• DVD cover
• Official font
• Trailer(s)
What you will
need to make
them
• You will need to know how to use Adobe Photoshop
• Camera
• Fonts
• Age rating
Audience • The psychographic for the trailer will aim to be needs driven. (Act upon pulse and instinct).
• The target age will be 15+ since it contain scary scenes and horror.
• The targeted gender is male so I will include mostly male characters in the trailers
• The social status is Middle class so I will use locations that higher class people wouldn’t go. (I.E:
Tunnels, unclean areas.)
8. CHOICES
Discounted ideas Reasons for not choosing
this project
Photography collage
• This is something I have done before and I
wanted to do something different for a change.
• I do not have a lot of paper to print photos off.
• It could be hard to know what to write about the
photos.
Radio show
• Done before and working with Premier Pro is
very difficult and stressful. Working with movie
editing systems is more easy for me.
• It would take a lot of time to do and the editing
system can be tricky and sometimes won’t work
properly.
• I don not have the right skill level for the
software.
