This document describes the estimation of plasma glucose levels using the glucose oxidase-peroxidase (GOD-POD) method. The method works by using the GOD and POD enzymes to catalyze a reaction that produces a colored product, the intensity of which corresponds to the glucose concentration in a plasma sample. The sample absorbance is then compared to a standard to calculate the glucose level, which can indicate conditions like diabetes if elevated or hypoglycemia if lowered. Alternative methods for measuring glucose are also outlined.
