Black Culture In Rhythm And Blues
1.Echols makes it apparent early on in the reading that Janis spent her life feeling alone,
unaccepted, and unloved. Even as a young child, she always felt she didn t belong. She always
tried to live up to her parent s (and others) expectations because she wanted their approval. She
spent her life searching for that which would make her feel normal. She acted tough, abrasive,
rebellious and over confident, but many really didn t know how vulnerable and insecure she really
was. More importantly, Echols explains the counterculture in the 60s and how it related to Rock n
Roll with both gender and race. It touches on the issue of the black culture at that time, where
Rhythm and Blues was predominately considered to be that of black

The New World Order
There are many topics that may labeled as unproven belief, whether there is truly lack of
information to cover it or the information on such topics is highly classified. One of the main
unproven beliefs that catch everyone s attention is the New World Order assuming that there is
nearly 1% of the citizens, so called elite power, who own 90% of the world, including realty,
factories and governments. There has not been much information on One World Order until
recently, when a mass leak slipped into journalists hands.
New World Order is something people suspected for a while, but there has never been enough
proof to make it legit. Even today, more and more people are considered with this unproven belief,
however, the information is still very ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is a nightmare for an average American, as so many people have lost their beloved in the 9
/11 attack and every American still remembers what they were doing at the exact moment when
they ve heard about the attack. If people admit that the attack was planned by, let s say Rockefeller
family and other members of Bilderberg group, this means that whatever the country was fighting
for was fake. This means that this War on Terror that American has led for more than a decade is
a fraud, planned by the Bilderberg group in order to invade other countries resources. The One
World Order proponents also believe that among the main purposes of the elite power is reduce
the world population at least by half. This actually reminds of Nazis again and the interesting thing
is how they decide who is going to die or live. (Axelrod,

Dust Bowl Research Paper
The Dust Bowl
The air is just full of dirt coming, literally, for hundreds of miles. It shifts into everything...
A quote from the diary of Ann Marie Low describing the powerful dust storms that she experienced
firsthand on her parents farm in the Great Plains.
During the 1930s, the southern regions of the Great Plains became known as the Dust Bowl due to
the severe droughts and dust storms that plagued this region experienced. Part of this occurrence
can be attributed to the farmers because, throughout the 1920s, many farmers had exhausted their
farmland through the overproduction of crops and destruction of the protective layer of prairie
grasses by plowing. This created several issues during the early 1930s when high winds and a
drought hit the region. With few trees to hold the eroded soil in place, the winds created massive
dust storms that spanned hundreds of miles. These storms, combined with the draught, devastated
farmers and many were forced to move further west. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The economic climate of the Great Depression intensified the effects of the Dust Bowl as many
famers were already struggling to repay debts and a loss of profits due to overproduction after
World War I. Some farmers were even evicted after they could not repay their debts. Such
conditions led to a mass migration of rural farmers to the western regions of the country. Most
migrants, referred to derogatively as Okies , followed Route 66 to California and other West Coast
states. An estimated 2.5 million rural farmers migrated west during the 1930s and most found work
as ranch hands or in the agriculture industry. However, these migrants were discriminated against
and faced both poor wages and unsanitary living

How Juneteenth Changed America
After doing a little bit of research I had found what Juneteenth actually was all
about.п»їп»їп»їп»їп»ї Juneteenth or June 19th is the date that slavery officially ended all over
America. specifically it ended back in 1865 when U.S. Army Union officer Gordon Granger
arrived at Galveston, Texas to tell everyone that the war had ended and that all slaverywas
abolished. Interestingly enough, this was two years after Lincoln announced the Emancipation
Proclamation. The reason why the new law was never really enforced in Texas however was
because of the lack of union soldiers in the state. After this, many plantation slaves received there
first taste of freedom and with this some went north to union states and others spread out to the
surrounding states... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the early 1900s Juneteenth began to fade from popularity as a holiday. This was mainly
because classrooms and textbooks began to skip over the fact of General Granger s arrival in
Galveston, Even today almost all textbooks don t even make a mention of the holiday. This is
why I believe no one in our class knew about this date, I feel as though most schools probably
think that its not important since they can just shorten the explanation to slavery was abolished
with the emancipation proclamation . Another similar example to this is how schools teach that
Columbus was the first to discovered America, when the reality is that thats the farthest thing
from the truth. Also I suppose that the holiday is probably more prominent down south near
Texas and in what was the confederate states. However, now going back to what lead to
Juneteenth fading from popularity; with the great depression happening in the 30s many people
could not take the time off of work to go and celebrate the holiday. However, over the next 50
years the holiday would makes different appearances and in 1980 was officially made into a state
official holiday. Now, Junetheenth seems to be spreading all over the country with different
committees popping up all over the

Evangelical Movements
Since the beginning of the twenty first century the nature and authority of scripture have been
issues regarding the Christian Faith. Throughout this paper the nature and authority of scripture
will be surveyed in reference to three theological movements: Evangelical, Liberal, and Neo
Orthodox. All three theological movements will be explored by examining the issues, implications,
and analysis and application of the Evangelical, Liberal, and Neo Orthodox movements.
The Issues
The evangelicalism movement dates to the eighteenth century and is the earliest movement of the
three movements. Evangelicalism originally took place in Britain and the British colonies and is
connected to Puritanism and Pietism. Those who are in accordance with the beliefs ... Show more

I believe it is possible to be in a Christian community where the believers in it come from one or a
mix of any of the three movements. From being raised in a Christian household, I have an
understanding of the various views on the authority of scripture. After doing further research
and writing this paper I have a deeper understanding of the authority and nature of scripture. I
know the word of God is not just based on the inspiration of God, but that it is God breathed and
infallible. Having knowledge of that fact can help me when sharing scripture and what I have
learned with the people out in the world. It is also important for us to not hold scripture above
God, but instead use it to lead people to God through the scriptures. Reading about
evangelicalism reminds me that we as children of God have a duty to be missionaries in our
communities to help evangelize the world. God is counting on us to help grow his garden of
souls. God is counting on us to plant the seed in someone who does not know or believe. With the
help of God through the Holy Spirit the sharing of His Word should come easily and we must
always remember that all things are possible through Christ. I will take the knowledge of the
scripture I have gained and

Racism In Trethewey s Native Guard
In Trethewey s Native Guard, graves symbolize of the futility of mankind s efforts to conceal its
evils, and of failure to combat the racist system put in place by white America. For years,
Trethewey s mother fought to protect her daughter from the hatred and prejudice in America.
Her protest against the hatred of America was snuffed out by abusive partners and the nascent
racism of America. In the poem Graveyard Blues, she describes the atmosphere of the graveyard
as blues y and dreary. She wander[s] now among names of the dead: My mother s name, stone
pillow for my head, her mother s name now only a marker of her lifetime of suffering. Not only a
problem in Trethewey s time, racism and inherent discrimination was an issue for even the African
American heroes of the Civil War, the Native Guard receive no recognition from the historians of
the fort or the Daughters of the Confederacy. In the poem Elegy for the Native Guards, Trethewey
states that there are no names carved for the Native Guards 2nd Regiment, Union men, black
phalanx. What is monument to their legacy? They receive no honorable grave. They receive the
most barbaric of burial rites, doomed to have fish dart among their bones. The bodies of the native
guard are cast out of sight into the ocean, neglected in an attempt to forget the evils committed
against them. Their forgotten and neglected grave symbolizes the futility of fighting against the
racism of America, as well as the futility in concealing

Cultural Differences In America
There are 196 countries around the world, Each one of those countries has their own culture. I m
a born Somalilander raised in Somaliland, coming from East Africa to the U.S was such
experimental thing to do. I have experienced a lot of culture clashes and the most important thing
I ve had culture clash about was that in the U.S respecting teachers has different meaning compare
to my country. First of all, In Somaliland teachers are well respected by the community and .
Society believes that teachers are the second parents of their students. For example, the teacher is
responsible for all of their student s life as much the parents. If a teacher sees a student doing
something out of school they are supposed to tell the student to stop what they are doing and go

In America that is totally different from what I used to. The teachers are the most well respected
in my country because people believe that nobody would achieve their dreams without a teacher
to teach them how. Students are supposed to stand up and hold their chest when a teacher
comes into the class and wait till the teachers say sit down . Teachers can t call by their last
name or first name people believe it s disrespectful so they get the call by Macaaliin which
means teacher. Students are afraid of their teachers because of the fact teachers are allowed to
beat students if they do something unreasonable. They believe if the student has parents at home
and second parents at school it would help the students to be more successful. In my country, if
you are over 14 years old you not make any mistakes when it comes to school or the teacher or
parents would beat you. Because schools believe that all children need spanking at some point in

Physical Abuse Of The Elderly In The United States
In the United States, people with disabilities are often treated badly by the society. The reason
that elders are being abused is due to the fact that they are disabled. People with disabilities cannot
do things for themselves, so they rely on other people. Elders abuse come in many types of forms.
For instance, it could be physical, emotional, or financial exploitation abuse. Therefore, elders need
someone who they could rely on and give them the good care that they need.
According to Elder Abuse and Neglect, physical abuse to elders is when you hurt elders physically.
Sometimes physical abuse could be a result of scars, bruises, and another type of marks that you
could see through elders skins. Physical abuse can also be an inappropriate

A World That Madeline Foo Is Tired Of An Artificial...
2092. A world that Madeline Foo is tired of. Firstly, she is tired of being in an artificial
environment. The plastic grass that was painted four times a year, the artificial trees that were
programmed to grow five centimetres a year. They were all fake. They cannot photosynthesize
and transpire nor can they produce oxygen and absorb carbon dioxide. This showed the
advancement in technology of this world but it was reflected no more than a decaying city to
Madeline. Secondly, self centred was just one of the many few adjectives that Madeline used to
describe her race. Kampong spirit and helping out one another in need? It was all but a fantasy.
Reality was much harsher. Humans of today are too preoccupied with getting the latest technology
and looking good to notice what is going on around them. Madeline found humans no better than
automatons programmed to wake up, work, eat and sleep. They are hollow shells with no heart to
feel and this was the thing that Madeline hated the most. Humans have no feelings. They pursue
pleasures without knowing what it was. They have no compassion, no empathy, especially so
when treating animals. Madeline got to her main point. She never undergone cosmetic surgeries
and treatment because of a very simple reason because animals were part of this; because of the
horrible ordeal that animals are put through for people to produce such technology for human use.
A visit to a laboratory decades ago had left a great impact on her. She was

Informative Essay On Albinism
How many of you know someone with albinism? Can you visualize that person? Or what do you
think an albino looks like? What stereotype comes to mind? I m sure many of you may think that
albinos have the red or pink eyes with white skin and hair, but most of you probably don t know
that is not always true.
For those of you who don t know, I have a type of albinism that will be discussing today along with
what albinism, who gets it, the different types, the symptoms, and if there is a treatment or not.
Most of you may ask, What is albinism and who gets it? Albinism is a rare genetic disorder that
causes the skin, hair, and eyes to have little to no color. About 1 in 18,000 to 20,000 people in the
United States have a form of albinism, stated by Rose Kivi, author of the article Albinism Health
line published on November 23, 2015.
Albinism is caused by a mutation in one of several genes. It also has a defect in one of several
genes that produce or distribute melanin. Melanin is the pigment responsible for the color of the
skin, hair and eyes. People who have albinism are more susceptible to developing skin cancer
because there is a lack of melanin produced in the body. Melanin also plays a huge role in the
eyes, so the lack of pigment causes them to be extremely sensitive to light, according to the article
Albinism last updated on May 24, 2016.
The people who are at risk for albinism are people who inherit a gene from one or both of their
parents if they have the gene

Explain How Software Utilities Improve The Performance Of...
D1: explain how software utilities can improve the performance of computer systems
There are many software utilities that can be used to improve a computer system. Below is a list of
them.
Virus Protection
This utility helps to improve the performance of a computer system by maintaining a safe
environment for the user to use and keep out viruses that slow down a system performance and its
effectiveness on devices; it does this by preventing malware from entering a system and ultimately
removing the virus from the system if required. If the system has no viruses it will run effectively.
This is because without the virus protection, the viruses would be activate and could start slowing
down the computer. Virus protection will help slowdown this ... Show more content on

This helps to improve system performance as it will clear up more space for the computer and
make it quicker and effective.
Drive Formatting
This utility prepares storage media for use by creating barriers from other files and readying it for
file storage, this benefits the system by allowing it to have a fully functioning storage media
device that is ready to use. This is an improvement to current systems by ensuring storage media is
ready to use and makes the computer more effective and efficient as you can access files instantly.
Backup Tools
This utility duplicates any files and stores them in an alternate location such as a separate hard
drive to the one were the original files are, this is done so that if the computer fails, then there is
a copy of that file in a separate location so that it can be obtained and sent back into the system,
this will stop files from truly being lost. This improves the performance of a system as it allows
the users to resume as quickly as possible in the event of a systems failure. Also it will help stop
the computer from faulting as the computer will have back up files to recover. So hence this will
improve the performance of a computer as the computer can resume its functions

The Social Chaos Of World War I
The Nazis had branded her as a degenerate artist and the Dadaists attempted to push her out. She
was a part of the modernist revolution, and witnessed the rise of the European avant gardes; the
emancipation of women; the growth of photography, cinema, and mass media; and two world
wars. However, she proved herself as a pioneer of photomontage and as a feminist icon. Hannah
Höch focuses her artwork on the political chaos of World War I
, as shown in Cut with the Dada
Kitchen Knife through the Last Weimar Beer Belly Cultural Epoch. (Fig. 1)

After the so called socialist revolution in 1918, the Dadaists were highly vocal in their opposition
to the new Republic... The more radical branch of Dada, was the Berlin Dada. They were
extremely critical of the government s gory suppression of the Spartacist rebellion (a general strike)
in 1919 and joined the newly formed Communist Party, the KPD. Hannah Höch was the lone
woman artist associated with the Berlin Dada group.
Cut with the Kitchen Knife/ Political chaos during WW1: As seen in the photomontage, Cut with
the Kitchen Knife Dada through the Last Weimar Beer Belly Cultural Epoch (Fig. 1) reflects how
she viewed the social and political chaos that was prominent during this time in the German culture.
The lengthy war was lost and it had left Germany in a position of political chaos. Her title for this
piece voices her critique of the German military and the male dominated Weimer Republic. The
work is a snapshot of 1920. HoМ€ch has interwoven countless details, figures, portraits, mechanical
elements, cityscapes and textual exhortations into her collage.
Cut With the Kitchen Knife Dada through the Last Weimar Beer Belly Cultural Epoch (Fig. 1) is

confidence and an independent vision that does not square with her otherwise relative invisibility in
the Berlin Dada. After World War I, the

The Treaty Of The Guadalupe Hidalgo Treaty
The ratification of the Guadalupe hidalgo treaty (1848) led to an enormous increase of land for
United States. Previous disputes that included the desire to annex Texas into Mexico was
ultimately resolved through the passing of the Guadalupe Hidalgo Treaty of 1848. Remuneration
was requested from the republic of Mexicowhich was granted by the U.S. This movement allowed
and officially surrendered the land bounded by California and the Rio Granderiver. Although Texas
had been annexed in 1845 to be part of the Union as the 28th state, this led to necessity for
government control that was not easily supplied since Texas was a long distance away.
However, the annexation of Texas increased the area of land owned by the U.S. Now that
America had adopted this great amount of land, the nation had also adopted the natives as new
citizen; nearly 75,000 Mexicans became U.S. citizens. The social adaptation was a difficult task
for them, and many of these Mexican Americans had to deal with Mexican raiders crossing the
border. Raids often led to the devastation of many local towns. There was a solution to this
predicament, and that is where the Texas Rangers came into play. Twenty seven years later the
novel A Texas Ranger was introduced.
The valiant Texas Rangers were in the beautiful Corpus Christi; they were greeted with the wildest
state of excitement from the local Texans. They were ordered there for the terror that the Mexican
Raiders were causing. They did radical

Quality Systems And Quality Control
This review will discuss the costs of quality systems and quality control in the scientific sense,
within clinical laboratories by looking at the literature, to ultimately arrive at conclusions on
whether the implementation of quality systems is financially beneficial or rather costly. The
importance of such quality systems and the complex factors which impact the success and failure
of such systems will also be discussed with reference to the literature. COST OF QUALITY The
cost of quality (COQ) by definition, is the cost that is resultant of bad quality or the cost of
implementing quality systems to ensure good quality within an organization [1]. The concept of
quality saving money, time and effort was advocated by Phil Crosby who strongly contributed to
quality management theory and famously stated that Quality is free; it s non conformance that
costs [1]. Furthermore, poor quality has been shown to be common and costly amongst various
industries [2]. The positive and encouraging evidence for implementing COQ programs, to
ultimately produce higher quality services or products while saving resources, is widespread and
abundant. Successful examples are numerous and include Motorola, Xerox and Westing house;
companies which have cut quality costs by 30% to just 2 and 3% of sales over a period of time in
endeavour to gain a competitive advantage on the market [2]. Despite the obvious benefits of
assessing quality costs and implementing quality measures to provide better

a son boring machine and the even worse part is that if they could not bear a son for the men, and
this was one of the excuses why men were able to have multiple wives. Women were expected to
be obedient to the man they belong to, also if they lost their virginity before marriage, they could
only end up as a prostitute, because no man wants a dirty woman. As the women marry to their

conquerors are often remembered by many, often in conflicting light. The greatest individual
conquerors of the world s past include Genghis Khan, Napoleon Bonaparte, and Attila the Hun. But
alongside these memorable names is the widely known Alexander the Great. His colossal empire

While that may sound cruel, it was by far the better of the two, and unfortunately not the one that
Alexander pushed the League to choose. The secondary option is a horrifying decision, as the
city of Thebes ended up being completely and utterly annihilated because of it, save for a few
temples (Thebes Conquered). While some may argue that it may have been completely
necessary in order to truly prevent any possible future uprisings from Thebes, they are only
partially correct, as Alexander the Great could have possibly put down the rebellion in Thebes
with half as many casualties. During the put down of the city, there was a woman named
Timoclea, who killed one of the generals in Alexander s army (Thebes Conqueror). But although
she did do that, Alexander spared her life because he admired her courage, even though she
defied him to his face (Thebes Conqueror). This does not make up for what Alexander the Great
allowed his army to do, as Timoclea was raped and abused by several Macedonian soldiers (Jayne

they are closer to eight feet long and made of wood, fur, and horse hair. They had one pole to
keep their balance, not two. The skis varied in size over the years, the largest being a huge twelve
feet long and the smallest being about two and a half feet long. The people from older times used

The Notion Of Jesus s Identity In The New Testament
In the New Testament Jesus s identity as the Jewish messiah who is fully man and fully God is
revealed. This notion of the God man identity is logically supported by the argument called the
Trilemma. The concept of Salvation History signifies that Jesus is the fulfillment of the New
Testament promises and more importantly covenants. Subsequently, typology is the interpretation
of the Old Testamentin the light of the New Testament with accordance with Jesuss identity as the
Godman. For example, God revealed more knowledge to us through the stages of revelation. In
these stages God used words and deed to give us a fuller revelation. In the preparation stage God
essentially prepared for the coming of Jesus. This foreshadowing of Jesus took place in many parts
of the Old Testament.
The Trilemma according to the church simplifies the possibilities of who Jesus could have been.
This states that Jesus has reasonable belief to be considered a God man because he claimed to be
divine. This is seen to be evident in the quote Amen, amen I say to you, before Abraham... Show

This argument states that the church over exaggerated Jesus s whole life and ministry.
Additionally, that all of Jesus s followers and apostles were lying about Jesus conquering the
grave and his miracles. This theory is rejected by the fact that the apostles had nothing to gain but
everything to lose. The notion of the apostles being crucified, exiled, and imprisoned for a lie
makes little or no sense. The other possible counter argument say s that Jesus said all humans have
a divine nature and that he never intended himself to be out of the ordinary. Unfortunately, like the
other counter argument this notion is easily diminished because Jesus was an Israelite not a Hindu.
Furthermore, Jesus was charged and crucified for speaking the blasphemy that he was the messiah;

The Second Theory Of Time
The second theory of the relativity of time is used by Robert Zemeckis in the movie Back to the

travels through all of these different timeperiods which become altered every time Marty and Doc

Robert also made the movie Cast Away which uses time in a different fashion than Forrest

funeral for him. However, Chuck is living on a deserted island in the middle of the Pacific
Ocean. In the beginning of the movie Chuck is obsessed with time, everything must be on time
and everything is run and calculated to the second. For example, Chuck demands all of his
employees be on time to the second as he walks around with a stop watch making sure that the
employees make the deadline. When he ends up on the island he starts keeping track of time with
scratches in the rocks as tally marks. After a year or so of the approximately four years he was on

Civil Growth, Ingenuity And Generosity
Civil Growth, Ingenuity and Generosity: United States 1940

This paper was prepared for Sophomore Seminar, taught by Professor Kramer.
Abstract
The United States of America was a boiling time in the 1940 s. With World War II approaching,
United States of America (USA) citizens went above and beyond to help out the cause. Doctor s
and student of universities unraveled mysteries and did what some would call impossible. It didn
t matter what color you were or who you loved, but if you were helping to aid the USA during
war, you were all right. Through tragedy, suffering and back breaking work, the United States of
America pulled themselves together as a whole, and made themselves ... Show more content on

The USA needed more men for war and more people in the work force to cover jobs. Because of
the desperateness and proudness of citizens, not only did women benefit but also racial minorities,
homosexuals and the mentally ill benefited.
Women all around the USA were picking up their husbands wrenches and were going to work.
They had finally gotten the share of independence they longed for but, it wouldn t take long for
women to take another step towards ultimate civil freedom. In March of 1942, women were able
to step out of their dresses and jump into militant uniform. No longer did they need to become
nurses to be in war, but now they had the opportunity to become greater than men. Women took
jobs as WASP s , WAVES and WAC s . They trained male piolets, tested planes, free men of
combat roles and worked as volunteer emergency medics (Berkin, Miller, Cherny, Gormly, 2015).
If women did not get jobs or take lead, women may not have the same freedoms as of the 21st
century.
If women could do it, minorities could do it too. African Americans, homosexual and the mentally
ill gained benefits from the war. African men now had complete ease going into the military and
could serve the country like any other citizen could. This was a huge step for the USA because not
long before, African Americans were extreamly segragated. This moment of allowance shows
extream cilvil growth withing the states.
Not only African Americans, but

CEO of BP Essay
When Robert Horton left his position as Chairman and CEO of BP, the company was in financial
trouble and the employee morale was notably low. The company was experiencing losses, the debt
to equity ratio was out of control, and the company had positioned itself in so many diverse
markets that most of the employees had no idea what the company mission and goals were. When
David Simon took over as CEO, he was faced with the daunting task of turning the wayward
company around. Simon accomplished this task for three reasons: he diagnosed and modified the
organizational culture; he possessed important leadership skills; and he knew how to motivate
employees.
One of the biggest deficiencies of Horton s management was his attempt to Americanize ... Show

The drive Simon possessed was magnified through his years of school and his progression through
the company. The case illustrates Simon s drive with the story of him being told by a teacher that
he should go into industry. She was implying he was not an intellectual but this criticism only
fueled his drive. These are just a few of the characteristics Simon possessed in addition to being a
good communicator and being able to inspire trust.
In addition to possessing these leadership skills, Simon also possessed the skills necessary to
motivate his employees to perform at their highest capacity. A recurring employee complaint was
the ambiguous nature of company goals. The case tells us that in order to alleviate this, Simon
set simple goals which were achievable in the short term so that employees could see their
progress. Not only was this a way to enhance employees commitment to goals but it also helped
reward the employees in timely manner. Simon also had the ability to empower his employees to
achieve as he was described as having a sophisticated and unique talent for guiding people without
them really knowing he is doing it (Davidson).
All of the examples mentioned above worked well for Simon because he was able to excite
employees and get them all working toward the same goal. By doing this he changed the culture of
BP and in time improved overall company performance. Although Simon did great things for BP,
his approach was not without flaw. One

Effects Of Advertising On Teenagers
An Essay on the Effects of Advertising on Teens
The Effects Of Advertising On TeensThe effects of 2People see advertisements all around the globe
that attempt to lure consumers to buy products. Advertisements are placed in newspapers,
magazines, schools, and on billboards everywhere. According to marketing consultants Stan Rapp
and Tom Collins, on a typical day, an average American sees over 5,000 advertisements a day (Gay,
1992). Many questions arise about these advertisements, such as Is advertising deceptive? Does it
create or perpetuate stereotypes? Does it create conformity? Does it create insecurity in order to
sell goods? Does it cause people to buy things that they really dont need?(Alexander Hanson,
1993, p. 240). Advertisers use specific methods to target teen consumers, but these methods are not
always successful or ethical. Advertising is giving the general public information about new
goods and trying to increase overall sales, which increases the efficiency of the nations economy.
It is supposed to be a significant way of getting the point across about a product and create
motivation for people to buy. Advertising alone, however, does not get customers. It simply catches
consumers attention, gets them to walk up to a shelf, and make an impulsive purchase. However,
getting the customer back requires a more creative marketing approach. There are several ways to
research consumers behaviors, likes, and dislikes. The most popular method is tests and surveys,

Altruism within society s standards can be described as a selfless concern or action for others
(Webster s Dictionary 2012). On September 25, 2012, an Oregon teenager named Marcus Ugarte
bravely entered a burning house in order to bring a young child named Cody Ma to safety (ABC
News 2012). Both families had never met previously, but there was no hesitation on Marcus part
of climbing up to the second story of the house to save Cody. Marcus risked his own life and was
able to guide Cody out of the house and down the ladder. He is being heralded as a hero in his
community of Troutdale for his courageous actions. Another example of how altruismcan be
viewed in today s society can be seen in the works of Mother Teresa and her plethora of altruistic
acts throughout the globe. Although her focus was in India where she persued her novitiate
(training), her organization has opened over 500 centers around the world helping the dying and
the destitute (Moore 2002, pg. x). She took in the untouchables of society and gave them care and
made sure that they were comfortable. Mother Teresa is often used as the benchmark when
determining whether a selfless act is truly altruistic. Even in nature you see acts of altruism. An
example is the meerkat; who participates in a cooperative breeding and feeding, and community
guarding. The dominant males and females are the chosen , which are allowed to breed

Symptoms And Symptoms Of Fibromyalgia
Abstract
Fibromyalgia is a chronic disorder that is characterized by a set of symptoms. These symptoms
include muscle pain, joint pain, and fatigue. It can also lead to depression. Fibromyalgia has been
compared to other disorders such as bursitis and tendinitis. The similarities in signs and symptoms
make it a little difficult to diagnose. Women are most likely to be diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. It is
still unknown as to why Fibromyalgia is more common in women. However, men and children are
still susceptible to the disorder. The cause for Fibromyalgia is relatively unknown. However, there
are indicators that my lead medical professionals to believe that certain factors can lead to
Fibromyalgia. Researchers are currently undergoing tests to determine whether or not a person is
predisposed with a gene that may cause Fibromyalgia. Diagnosing Fibromyalgia in patients is based
strictly on the amount of pain felt by the patient. Treatment of Fibromyalgia can be difficult due to
the small number of doctors who have knowledge of the condition. It is important to seek medical
help from providers who have extensive knowledge of Fibromyalgia such as rheumatologist.

The Technology Upgrade Chapter 4 Summary
Chapter Four The Technology Upgrade Chapter four talks about upgrading technology. The books
talk about educators adding technology into the classroom. Technology is being used to transform
classrooms. Even though the use of technology is suggested or required from teachers some fail to
reiterate it into their curriculum (Johnson,2012, pg.83). This is due to confusion or some being
scared to try something new. Instead some stick to the familiar such as using technology for
communicating with parents, recording grades and attendance. The lack of usage in technology
sometimes has to do with lack of resources (Johnson,2012, pg.83). One way to learn how to use
technology more is to add a technology upgrade to your usual activities. Activities such as lectures,
student writing, student research, class discussions, math problems, plays and skits, and student
speeches. These are just a few examples, use basic technology, spreadsheets, and software in which
your students are already comfortable with to replace or enhance your traditional activities. Some
benefits of upgrading technology are being able to teach in different learning styles for students

describe what you want in concrete terms, use examples of previous quality work, and make sure
the tools are given to students at the time when the assignment is given. In addition, use the
assessment tool to help guide revisions, use different assessors, and revise your tools each time their

The American Civil Rights Movement
Has someone ever told you that you were not allowed to do something that others had the right to?
Maybe it was your parents, your boss, the government, but you thought you had just enough right
as anyone else did? Well, during the 1960 s not everyone had the same rights. During the Civil
Rights Movement, African Americans were fighting for equality. They didn t want separate but
equal they wanted full equality for their people. This caused many riots throughout the US. When
we look at riots we tend to think violence, although most riots were violent, not all were. One Civil
Rights Movement leader imparticular, Martin Luther King Jr., was for peaceful riots. He wanted
the people to hear what he had to say during his speeches, and to stop the violence. However, there
was another Civil Rights Movement leader, Malcolm X, who was more about violence and hatred.
Both activists were fighting for the same cause but were for different perspectives. One question
that many might have is which view was most influential during the Civil Rights Movement? I
believe that not only is nonviolence morally right, but also it helped African Americans get their
point across, where as violence was unjust and helping neither the black or white population. Martin
Luther King Jr., was the most influential leader of nonviolence during the civil rights movement.
He first became well known when he organized the protest against bus segregation in Montgomery,

Ecological Validity
Ecological Validity is defined as, how well a study can be related to or reflects everyday, real life.
Studies with high ecological validity can be generalised beyond the setting they were carried out in,
whereas studies low in ecological validity cannot. With this, we are able to see that experiments that
take place in a natural environments and can generalise the findings to the outside world have high
ecological validity. Whereas, if the experiments lack realism and has little in common with the
natural environment, then the experiments would have low ecological validity.
When looking at Harlow s Monkey Study, we must look at the location of the study and the
number of test subjects involved. As mentioned in previous slides, Harlow s Monkey Study took
place in a laboratory. This means that the Rhesus monkeys were placed in an environment which
was unnatural to them, and therefore, the results may differ slightly if they were in their natural
environment. Secondly, the sample size of eight Rhesus monkeys is far too small to conclude that
the findings are reliable and accurate. Thirdly, as stated in previous slides as well, Harlow would

The Psychological Effects Of Binge Drinking Among College...
In the United States, over 80% of college students have at least one alcoholic drink over a two
week time period. Out of these college students, 40% are binge drinking on occasion. (Johnston,
O Malley, Bachman, Schulenberg, 2009). Binge drinking among college students is due to the
college environment and mostly effects freshmen in college. Now that young people are no
longer living in their parents home and are not being supervised as much as they were before
they now have the freedom to do whatever with whom ever. Which is where peer interaction
comes into play. College is the time that young adults find new friends and discover themselves
more. Peers provide the guidance and support needed to overcome the transition period. Peer
pressure, is the direct influence on people by peers, or an individual who gets encouraged to
follow their peers by changing their attitudes, values or behaviors to conform to those of the
influencing group or individual. Peer pressure is a major factor in the development of risk taking
behaviors. Peers act as influential model by introducing, providing, or pressuring risky activities to
other peers. In order to make these statistics go down colleges must and should provide resources
and trainings that help college students successfully prevail over the pressures of peer pressure and
social norms to drink.

Characteristics Of Mangroves Of Roatan And The Bay Island
ECOSYSTEMS CLASSIFICATION OF LIVING ZONES The area around Roatan and the Bay
Islands is considered to be a Tropical Humid Forest. This area of life is restricted to narrow
lowlands and covers coastal plains. The flora that integrates the vegetation of the area has
characteristics and morphological features which include trees, shrubs, and grasses; as well as
an evergreen, deciduous phenology. VEGETABLE ECOSYSTEMS Mangroves estuaries,
coastal lagoons, and Mangrove wetlands are found throughout Roatan and its surrounding
islands. In Utila, this type of ecosystem occupies 37% of the island s surface area. In Roatan, this
type of ecosystem occupies 7.2% of the islands surface area. In Guanaja figures for this type of
ecosystem drop to 6%. Utila Island, which is home to a significant portion of mangrove swamps,
has a large vegetal landscape and a high level of biodiversity. This gives Utila a strong
patrimonial value. THE CHACHALACA For example, this habitat represents a limited shelter
for the Chachalaca (a tree dwelling bird of the guan family Ortalis vetula deschauenseei) of Utila
Island. This bird subspecies is endemic to the mangroves of the island of Utila. The Chachalaca
was believed to be extinct in years past but is now protected and growing. THE GARROBO The

Why Prostitution Should Be Legalize Prostitution
The act of engaging in sexual activity or intercourse in exchange for payment defines prostitution.
The widely known view of prostitution continues to persist along the lines of immoral, unhealthy,
violent, and discriminating. Many countries criminalize prostitution with the intentions of
eliminating the problem altogether. This, in fact, drove prostitutionunderground making the
problem even messier. No matter the view, the sex work industry will always have a demand. The
networth of prostitution outweighs America s illegal drug and gun trade combined. Therefore,
prostitution isn t going anywhere and remains one of the oldest professions in history. Many
countries have already legalized prostitution including Germany, Greece, New Zealand, Austria, and
Belgium. In doing so, these countries have the capability to maintain a proper work environment
and provide health regulations among many other things. Prostitution should be legalized to ensure
the medical safety of the prostitutes and their clients. Due to the criminalization of prostitution,
prostitutes generally have a higher risk of transferring sexually transmitted diseases. A sexually
transmitted disease, or STD, are diseases or infections that can only travel through a sexual act.
Prostitutes make money from having sex with other people and in order to become prosperous,
they must have sex with several different people. Many clients also refuse to use condoms. The
prostitute will usually be offered more money if they participate in the sexual act without the use of
a condom. Condoms are proven to be highly successful in preventing someone from contracting or
spreading an STD according to the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention. If infected, many
prostitutes are unaware of their condition because they can t afford to visit a healthcare professional
or carry health insurance. The combination of a prostitutes tendency to exchange sexual intercourse
with multiple people and the client s refusal to use condoms opens the prostitute to a greater
possibility of transmitting an STD. Since a medical check up isn t financially an option or required
for the prostitutes, the prostitute may potentially be spreading an STD to their client unknowingly.

a simple but effective tool is the Earnings per share value. For Wal Mart, this is given as under:

An Overview Of Energy Management Meter System
A Framework for a GSMSmart Energy Management Meter System for Effective Measurement,
Management and Communication of Power and its Data in a Developing Grid
Abstract
Energy measurement and management are amongst the major grid challenges and research efforts
have been geared towards addressing them. The emergence of smart meters in consonance with the
smart grid concept is as a result of these efforts. This paper explores the integration of Energy
Management and Control System (EMCS) technologies into smart meters to mitigate energy
wastages and ensure energy accountability. The integrated system presented in this paper leverages
on the GSM technology to provides a tripod communication between the meter, utility and the
consumers. Results from the system prototype show that the system offers the consumer the
opportunity to make personal energy budgets in line with the energy conservation, provides more
consumption details than the traditional meters and provides for the utility a better management
platform of the consumer component of the grid.

The American Of American Literature
American literature is the literature written or produced in the area of the United States and its
receding colonies. American literature as a whole is the written literary work, and the new England
colonies were the center of early American literature. American drama attained international status
only in the 1920s and 1930s, with the works of Eugene O Neil, who won four Pulitzer prizes and
the Noble prize. During the Middle of the 20th century, American drama was dominated by the
works of eminent playwright Tennessee Williams and Arthur Miller, as well as by the maturation of
the American music. American literature is a branch of English literature and independent subject.
American society is composed of different races and ethnicities, as suggested by the name of a title,

Oxygen uptake () describes the rate at which oxygen is utilized by tissues (Burton et al, 2004). is
determined by heart rate (heart beats each minute), stroke volume (the volume of blood pumped
from one ventricle each beat) and arteriovenous oxygen difference (difference in blood oxygen
content between arterial and venous blood). Oxygen is needed for respiration, the chemical
process that produces energy in the form of ATP. Several sources agree that oxygen uptake
increases linearly with exercise, this is due to the skeletal muscles requirement for more oxygen for
the production of more ATP. Hanson et al (1998) measured... Show more content on

For the participant in this trial to sustain 60rpm, their muscles must produce progressively more
force after each increment, as 0.5kg resistance is applied to the flywheel each time, therefore the
energy demands of the muscle progressively increase. A deviation from the trend during the middle
of the trial was not expected as most sources agree the relationship is linear (Burton, Г–zyener,
Glassford), however Astrand (1961) found a non linear steeper increase in during the middle
stages. Astrand s non linear pattern may be explained by production of power increasing to a
point beyond the lactate threshold, the point at which lactic acid starts to accumulate in the blood.
A slowly developing increase in during constant work rate exercise performed above the lactate
threshold produces a curvilinear relationship and is known as the slow component of kinetics
(Jones et al, 2011). The cause for the steep increase at the final stage of the trial is supported by the
research of Bernard et al (1996), who measured the effects of increasing exercise intensities
recording oxygen consumption and heart rate simultaneously. Findings revealed a significant
correlation with the best predictions of from work rate observed at higher intensities. Bernard s
findings support results in table 1 that

Utilitarianism In Little Women By Louisa May Alcott
Little Women
By:
Louisa May Alcott
A Victorian literature characteristic shown in Little Women is utilitarianism. This is shown
throughout the book as the four girls, Meg, Beth, Jo, and Amy were so kind and often tried to
do things that make others happy and don t expect anything in return. This characteristic is
evident when Beth said I ll tell you what we ll do, let s each get her (their dear mother)
something for Christmas, and not get anything for ourselves (6). In this scene, the four sisters,
who get along beautifully, were sitting by the fire and when they notice how worn out their
mother s slippers were. Initially, they didn t get any gifts or presents for Christmas since their
father was away at war and they had to save money so they decided to use a little of their hard
earned money to each buy something for themselves. But after seeing the condition of Marmee s
slippers, they decide to use their own money to buy something nice for their mother. This quote
shows utilitarianism because the Beth, Meg, Jo, and Amy all give up their own hard earned money
to do something nice and considerate for someone else. Essentially, the four loving sisters thought
of doing something to make someone happy and put themselves aside for a while.
Another Victorian literature characteristic shown in this book is social classstructure. This is
evident throughout the entire novel because Meg, Beth, Jo, Amy, and Marmee are all quite poor
and face many different issues

Human Embryonic Stem Cell Research
In the Declaration on the Production and the Scientific and Therapeutic Use of Human
Embryonic Stem Cells, the Pontifical Academy for Life presents the field of stem cell research
with a statement regarding the official Roman Catholic position on the moral aspects of acquiring
and using human embryonic stem cells. They have declared that it is not morally legitimate to
produce or use human embryos as a source of stem cells, nor is it acceptable to use stem cells
from cell lines already established. Thus, bringing up the conflicting topic concerned with the point
in time in which a human embryo becomes more than a simple mass of cells, but a human
individual with a well defined identity. Gerard Magil and William B. Neaves, in their paper
Ontological and Ethical Implications of Direct Nuclear Reprogramming has conflicted the
Academy s position on stem cellresearch with an alternative understanding of adult stem cells. In
what follows, I will argue that the Academy does not adequately defend the Church s standpoint on
stem cell research. However, I will also suggest that even if the Church s position were accepted,
this would not provide an adequate solution to the ethical question revolving around stem cell
research.
In order to rightly investigate the position defined in the Declaration on the Production and the
Scientific and Therapeutic Use of Human Embryonic Stem Cells a summary must first be
presented. The Academy outlines and endorses the Roman Catholic Church s

Analysis Of Signs Preceding The End Of The World
Signs Preceding the End of the World Signs Preceding the End of the World is an insider s look
at the mind and journey of an illegal immigrant. A Mexican young woman crossing the border
story is what challenges the ethics of readers. The main character in Signs Preceding the End of
the World is Makina. Makina is in charge of a small Mexican town s telephone. A reliable,
messenger, she knows how to keep a secret and when to keep her mouth shut. She is dangerous
when threatened, quick to defend herself against lecherous fools, and unafraid of speaking truth
to power (Long). Makina is just like an ordinary person. She is no different from an average
American. Makina has a job and harmless when not threatened. Americans act as if immigrants are
so beneath them. Immigrants are hard workers, just like Americans. Immigrants want better lives
for themselves and their families, just like Americans. Americans and immigrants are not the only
ones who want these things. People all around the world want what is best for everyone they
know. Most people will do whatever it takes to get to what they need; even if it is in life
threatening conditions. Signs Preceding the End of the World challenges our ethics by placing the
reader in the mind of an illegal immigrant, allowing the reader to know the true feelings and
experience of the immigrant. The reader s ethics are first challenged when Makina began her
journey; when the reader finds out that Makina needs to find her brother that has

Upgrade Your Mattress Research Paper
Why Your Next Home Upgrade Should Be Your Mattress ( removed HTML ) Why Your Next
Home Upgrade Should Be Your Mattress ( removed HTML ) It s common sense to pay the most
attention to home upgrades that most affect your lifestyle, health and comfort. That s why
upgrading your mattress ranks as one of the most important improvements that you can make
around the house. Lack of restful sleep can damage your health, generate stress and lower your
overall quality of life. According the WebMD, sleep loss can increase your risk of a heart attack,
high blood pressure, stroke and diabetes. [1] The issue of comfort is more important than you
think when you consider that you ll probably spend 7 9 hours each day on the mattress for many
years. Old, worn out mattresses cause injuries from exposed springs, affect your spinal health and
harbor insects and allergens. About 20 millions Americans are allergic to dust mites, and the
reactions of allergic asthmatics are even more intense. [2] ( removed HTML ) Why You Should

decision, but there are key indicators that you can... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Zoos Pros And Cons Essay
The Debate Over Pro Or Con
People are changing the natural world in many different ways Kira Freed.
People should care of what zoos are doing to the animals because when they keep the animals in
there cages and won t let them out, the animals get very sick and don t get very much better. The
debate is from people not wanting zoos and some people liking zoos, many people don t want
zoos because the animals may not be healthy, but some people like zoos because they are healthy.
Many zoos shouldn t be kept because the animals do not feel very good around people, zoos
should not be kept because, in zoos, animals are kept in captivity, animals behavior changes, and the
animals are not taken care of the right way.
Most zoos don t have a lot of room in there cages/places because, according to the video, Jane
Goodall on Role Zoos Play in Saving Wild Animals , elephants, dolphins, wolves need room to
roam around. In the article, Pro or Con? , animals get stressed when living in small spaces. Also
according to the video, Born Wild : Are zoos a necessity? (Aired: August 2004) , animals can be
kept alone in a cage for more than a year. Therefore there is no purpose of watching animals behind
a glass wall.
When not living in their normal habitat, their behavior changes, such as, according to the Pro ...

My opponent thinks that zoos should stay because animals are safe, despite the fact, that animals
get teased by the kids/people, they are put in captivity, and their behavior changes when put in zoos.
This is important in the debate because, when the animals are not treated the right way and put
somewhere they don t belong they change a lot and they are confused because they normally see
the wild but they only see people that they are not used to. As a result the animals don t get to live
or eat where they want and where they

How Did Henry Ford Change Society
Introduction
One of America s foremost industrialists, Henry Ford revolutionized assembly line modes of
production for the automobile. Henry Ford would become the founder of Ford Motor Company
and sell millions of cars. Ford developed an assembly line method that would lead to faster
production at a lower cost. Henry Ford changed the ways that men build, and use cars. Henry Ford
changed the automobile from a expensive curiosity to a everyday conveyance that middle class
families could afford. In doing so he would change the 20th century forever.

Hurricane Katrina Effects
The calamitous natural phenomenon known as Hurricane Katrina brought terrible side effects to
lower class African Americans. A catastrophe like Hurricane Katrina changed the lives of the
lower class African Americans forever because of the devastation from several effects. People
today are more prepared for a natural disasterbecause Hurricane Katrinawas one of the strongest
storms to hit the United States coast within the last 100 years in New Orleans (Brianna Frank).
Most of these ramifications of Hurricane Katrina came from the phycological, economic and
medical effects due to this natural disaster,
Hurricane Katrina has plagued both lower class African Americanadults and their children due to
the phycological effects. The repercussions of Hurricane Katrina had an everlasting effect on the
lives of most adult victims. Many adults were at risk for being diagnosed with Post Traumatic
Stress Disorder. This was defined in an article as, an anxiety disorder that can develop after a
person has experienced an ordeal that poses severe physical harm (Hurricane Katrina). A natural
disaster like Hurricane Katrina would have been a primary trigger for causing Post Traumatic
Stress Disorder. Unfortunately, the realization of this disease was that most adults effected would
never be able to feel safe again. On the other hand, the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina on the lives
of the innocent children was also just as devastating. Many children were at the risk of developing
a disease called Serious Emotional Disturbance. This disease would have been caused by a
traumatizing event. An example of this was Hurricane Katrina. The outcome would have caused
severe stress on mainly the effected children. In their future, this disease would challenge the
children s thinking and problem coping difficulties. As discussed in one article, children with SED
are not able to cope with their peers or their environment (Hurricane Katrina). Hurricane Katrina
bedeviled the uneducated lower class African Americans as well as the low income families. Many
lower class African American families were already extremely poor prior to the destruction of
Hurricane Katrina. These people were without adequate transportation to escape the

Analysis Of The Book The Palace
For several weeks, Proserpina had stayed with King Pluto in his palace. She spent most of her
days ogling his tremendous rose gardens. She loved picking the roses and finding the small white
pearl that lay within the rare ones. Red roses were her favourite, their lush, bright petals never
drooping or falling, and in some circumstances, they smelled sweeter than any of the other roses.
Proserpinas favourite rose of all, however, was one made entirely of rubies and emeralds. The red
rubies made up the petals and the emeralds became the stem and a leaf. It was kept inside of a
large glass case, where only its beauty was allowed. Every morning after Plutobrought Proserpina
to his castle, he would hear her wake up in the early hours of the day, right when the sun began to
rise, and watch her pick flowers through his large window overlooking his land. He was lucky that
she did not know who he was, the God of the Underworld, she only thought he was the king of
diamonds and stones. Plutohad a plan, once he got her to eat something, she would be trapped in
his kingdom forever, his underworld. For now, however, he had to just watch as she deteriorated
from hunger. It wasn t that bad to be brutally honest, he s seen much worse. Since staying there,
Proserpina had vowed not to eat anything that she found, or anything that was given to her. She
was afraid that if she ate anything, it would deprive her of all of her bad memories and make her
forget all of her cares. Really,

Commentary On The Book Thief In The Orc By Triad
This short book had an interesting storytelling technique in that you just got thrown into the
middle of two men with a history together, and you really had no clue what was going on. Even
by the end of the book I still wasn t real clear what their past entailed and what they had meant to
each other or what they meant to each other by the end. JT, the orc, is a mechanic who I think
was a car thief in the past, and Austin, an elf, is still the same slick con man who he s always
been. Everything in this story is based on the men s backstory, but that backstory is never fully
conceptualized. There are brief flashbacks into the men s relationship (well, it was basically just
a sex scene), but they were a bit confusing as to time and place in relation to what is happening in
the present. Normally the only time I feel lost in a book is when it s a series and it s not a stand
alone book, but this book skated the edge in a lot of areas.
Austin and JT hadn t seen each other in two years, and Austin bribes JT into helping rescue a
friend of theirs by offering JT a stolen car. Their mutual friend, Buzz, had stolen some virtual
information and was being hunted by Chinese Triad. What had me ... Show more content on

I m sure there will be other books to come which will delve into this world and the explanations
will be much deeper, but it was a little irritating in this story. The narrative is pretty rough and
tough...not much sentiment in this story. This is a guy s story, and the sex is definitely guys sex.
For a while, I thought Buzz was going to be the third man in a love triangle, but only he and JT
had a sexual relationship, well, not so much a relationship as a hookup. JT and Austin both have
sex with other people multiple times in the book, so if this is an issue for a reader, you should
probably stay away from this story. The sex is rough and smutty, nothing gentle or sweet between

Action through the use of violence will always have consequences. There is no doubt the IRA
were prepared to pay the Butchers Bill to reach their nationalistic goals during the Irish British
Conflict. The Irish Republican Army (IRA) was a militant organisation founded in 1919. The IRA
was the armed wing of the Sinn Fein political party. The IRA was known for various tactics
including ambushes, raids and sabotage in the effort to rid British armed forces in Irelandto be able
to establish the Republic of Ireland. They operated with and without political control and took the

This led to the British government suspending the Northern Ireland parliament and implementing
direct rule from London. This aggravated the Provisional IRA because they were uninterested in
any solution other than British withdrawal and Irish unification. Attempts in the negotiations to
peace included the 1973 Sunningdale Agreement, The Anglo Irish Agreement and The Mitchell
Principles. In the end it took the involvement of Sinn Fein, the IRA and other main players in the
Irish British conflict, as well as several world leaders, to agree on a final peace process. The Good
Friday Agreement, seen as the final negotiation, aimed to set up a nationalist and unionist power
sharing government in Northern Ireland. The Good Friday Agreement aimed for the achievement
of reconciliation, tolerance, and mutual trust, and to the protection and vindication of the human
rights of all . Overall, the terrorist attacks committed by the Provisional IRA in both Ireland and
Britain did pressure both governments to negotiate for peace, however their long process to
ceasefire prevented final agreements from happening and continued the unnecessary

Candy to investigate the importance of the Cdc24 PH domain for localisation. A. Candy
transformed E. festucae with either cdc24 EGFP or cdc24PH EGFP and then three rounds of
nuclear purification were carried out to increase the proportion of hyphae that contain the construct.
Filamentous fungi contain multinuclear hyphae compartments which means that not all nuclei
within the fungi will contain the construct. Subculturing was carried out on media containing
antibiotic to purify transformants from non transformants. There was fifty independent
transformants for each cdc24 EGFP and cdc24 PH EGFP. From these transformants 34 cdc24
EGFP and 23 cdcPH EGFP contained a sufficient DNAconcentration following crude DNA
extraction from all plated E. festucae. PCR was used to screen individual transformants for the
presence of the band sized 2338 bp showing that the transformants contains the construct.
Unfortunately, a negative control was not included which makes these results difficult to interpret
but since some do not contain a band it can be assumed that contamination is unlikely to have
interfered with these results. This shows that the construct is present in many of the individual
transformants which allows continuation of this project where an attempt to visualise the proteins
can be carried out. The PCR results were confirmed by A. Candy with inclusion of a negative
control.

Hanukkah And St. Nicholas Day Summary
The residents of the annex use too much electricity and exceed their ration. Anne begins to feel
that Mr. Dussel is a strict disciplinarian and has too many opinions about etiquette. She writes that
it is very difficult being the badly brought up center of attention in a family of nitpickers.
Hanukkah and St. Nicholas Day come on almost the same day, so the annex holds two
celebrations. They light the Hanukkah candles for only ten minutes, since candles are in short
supply. For St. Nicholas Day, Father hides a basket filled with presents and a mask of Black
Peter in a cabinet. Mr. van Daan makes sausages to preserve the meat they have bought. Mr.
Dussel opens a pretend dental practice in the annex and comically attempts to fix Mrs. van Daan
s cavities. Anne tires of Mrs. van Daan s incessant complaints and is annoyed that Mr. Dussel
constantly tells her to be quiet at night but then wakes her up when he does his exercises at dawn.
Anne marvels at how diplomatic she has become while living in the annex. Mr. Kugler brings the
residents gravy packets to fill because he can find no one else to do the job. According to Anne,

  • 2. Black Culture In Rhythm And Blues 1.Echols makes it apparent early on in the reading that Janis spent her life feeling alone, unaccepted, and unloved. Even as a young child, she always felt she didn t belong. She always tried to live up to her parent s (and others) expectations because she wanted their approval. She spent her life searching for that which would make her feel normal. She acted tough, abrasive, rebellious and over confident, but many really didn t know how vulnerable and insecure she really was. More importantly, Echols explains the counterculture in the 60s and how it related to Rock n Roll with both gender and race. It touches on the issue of the black culture at that time, where Rhythm and Blues was predominately considered to be that of black ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One of the main unproven beliefs that catch everyone s attention is the New World Order assuming that there is nearly 1% of the citizens, so called elite power, who own 90% of the world, including realty, factories and governments. There has not been much information on One World Order until recently, when a mass leak slipped into journalists hands. New World Order is something people suspected for a while, but there has never been enough proof to make it legit. If people admit that the attack was planned by, let s say Rockefeller family and other members of Bilderberg group, this means that whatever the country was fighting for was fake. This means that this War on Terror that American has led for more than a decade is a fraud, planned by the Bilderberg group in order to invade other countries resources. • 4. Dust Bowl Research Paper The Dust Bowl The air is just full of dirt coming, literally, for hundreds of miles. It shifts into everything... A quote from the diary of Ann Marie Low describing the powerful dust storms that she experienced firsthand on her parents farm in the Great Plains. During the 1930s, the southern regions of the Great Plains became known as the Dust Bowl due to the severe droughts and dust storms that plagued this region experienced. Part of this occurrence can be attributed to the farmers because, throughout the 1920s, many farmers had exhausted their farmland through the overproduction of crops and destruction of the protective layer of prairie grasses by plowing. This created several issues during the early 1930s when high winds and a drought hit the region. With few trees to hold the eroded soil in place, the winds created massive dust storms that spanned hundreds of miles. These storms, combined with the draught, devastated farmers and many were forced to move further west. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The economic climate of the Great Depression intensified the effects of the Dust Bowl as many famers were already struggling to repay debts and a loss of profits due to overproduction after World War I. Some farmers were even evicted after they could not repay their debts. Such conditions led to a mass migration of rural farmers to the western regions of the country. Most migrants, referred to derogatively as Okies , followed Route 66 to California and other West Coast states. An estimated 2.5 million rural farmers migrated west during the 1930s and most found work as ranch hands or in the agriculture industry. However, these migrants were discriminated against and faced both poor wages and unsanitary living ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. How Juneteenth Changed America After doing a little bit of research I had found what Juneteenth actually was all about.п»їп»їп»їп»їп»ї Juneteenth or June 19th is the date that slavery officially ended all over America. specifically it ended back in 1865 when U.S. Army Union officer Gordon Granger arrived at Galveston, Texas to tell everyone that the war had ended and that all slaverywas abolished. Interestingly enough, this was two years after Lincoln announced the Emancipation Proclamation. The reason why the new law was never really enforced in Texas however was because of the lack of union soldiers in the state. After this, many plantation slaves received there first taste of freedom and with this some went north to union states and others spread out to the surrounding states... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... During the early 1900s Juneteenth began to fade from popularity as a holiday. This was mainly because classrooms and textbooks began to skip over the fact of General Granger s arrival in Galveston, Even today almost all textbooks don t even make a mention of the holiday. This is why I believe no one in our class knew about this date, I feel as though most schools probably think that its not important since they can just shorten the explanation to slavery was abolished with the emancipation proclamation . Another similar example to this is how schools teach that Columbus was the first to discovered America, when the reality is that thats the farthest thing from the truth. Also I suppose that the holiday is probably more prominent down south near Texas and in what was the confederate states. However, now going back to what lead to Juneteenth fading from popularity; with the great depression happening in the 30s many people could not take the time off of work to go and celebrate the holiday. However, over the next 50 years the holiday would makes different appearances and in 1980 was officially made into a state official holiday. From being raised in a Christian household, I have an understanding of the various views on the authority of scripture. I know the word of God is not just based on the inspiration of God, but that it is God breathed and infallible. Having knowledge of that fact can help me when sharing scripture and what I have learned with the people out in the world. It is also important for us to not hold scripture above God, but instead use it to lead people to God through the scriptures. Reading about evangelicalism reminds me that we as children of God have a duty to be missionaries in our communities to help evangelize the world. God is counting on us to help grow his garden of souls. God is counting on us to plant the seed in someone who does not know or believe. • 7. Racism In Trethewey s Native Guard In Trethewey s Native Guard, graves symbolize of the futility of mankind s efforts to conceal its evils, and of failure to combat the racist system put in place by white America. For years, Trethewey s mother fought to protect her daughter from the hatred and prejudice in America. Her protest against the hatred of America was snuffed out by abusive partners and the nascent racism of America. In the poem Graveyard Blues, she describes the atmosphere of the graveyard as blues y and dreary. She wander[s] now among names of the dead: My mother s name, stone pillow for my head, her mother s name now only a marker of her lifetime of suffering. Not only a problem in Trethewey s time, racism and inherent discrimination was an issue for even the African American heroes of the Civil War, the Native Guard receive no recognition from the historians of the fort or the Daughters of the Confederacy. In the poem Elegy for the Native Guards, Trethewey states that there are no names carved for the Native Guards 2nd Regiment, Union men, black phalanx. What is monument to their legacy? They receive no honorable grave. They receive the most barbaric of burial rites, doomed to have fish dart among their bones. • 10. A World That Madeline Foo Is Tired Of An Artificial... 2092. A world that Madeline Foo is tired of. Firstly, she is tired of being in an artificial environment. The plastic grass that was painted four times a year, the artificial trees that were programmed to grow five centimetres a year. They were all fake. They cannot photosynthesize and transpire nor can they produce oxygen and absorb carbon dioxide. This showed the advancement in technology of this world but it was reflected no more than a decaying city to Madeline. Secondly, self centred was just one of the many few adjectives that Madeline used to describe her race. Kampong spirit and helping out one another in need? It was all but a fantasy. Reality was much harsher. Humans of today are too preoccupied with getting the latest technology and looking good to notice what is going on around them. Madeline found humans no better than automatons programmed to wake up, work, eat and sleep. They are hollow shells with no heart to feel and this was the thing that Madeline hated the most. Humans have no feelings. They pursue pleasures without knowing what it was. They have no compassion, no empathy, especially so when treating animals. Madeline got to her main point. For those of you who don t know, I have a type of albinism that will be discussing today along with what albinism, who gets it, the different types, the symptoms, and if there is a treatment or not. Most of you may ask, What is albinism and who gets it? Albinism is a rare genetic disorder that causes the skin, hair, and eyes to have little to no color. About 1 in 18,000 to 20,000 people in the United States have a form of albinism, stated by Rose Kivi, author of the article Albinism Health line published on November 23, 2015. Albinism is caused by a mutation in one of several genes. It also has a defect in one of several genes that produce or distribute melanin. Melanin is the pigment responsible for the color of the skin, hair and eyes. People who have albinism are more susceptible to developing skin cancer because there is a lack of melanin produced in the body. Melanin also plays a huge role in the eyes, so the lack of pigment causes them to be extremely sensitive to light, according to the article Albinism last updated on May 24, 2016. • 14. The Treaty Of The Guadalupe Hidalgo Treaty The ratification of the Guadalupe hidalgo treaty (1848) led to an enormous increase of land for United States. Previous disputes that included the desire to annex Texas into Mexico was ultimately resolved through the passing of the Guadalupe Hidalgo Treaty of 1848. Remuneration was requested from the republic of Mexicowhich was granted by the U.S. This movement allowed and officially surrendered the land bounded by California and the Rio Granderiver. Although Texas had been annexed in 1845 to be part of the Union as the 28th state, this led to necessity for government control that was not easily supplied since Texas was a long distance away. However, the annexation of Texas increased the area of land owned by the U.S. Now that America had adopted this great amount of land, the nation had also adopted the natives as new citizen; nearly 75,000 Mexicans became U.S. citizens. The social adaptation was a difficult task for them, and many of these Mexican Americans had to deal with Mexican raiders crossing the border. Raids often led to the devastation of many local towns. There was a solution to this predicament, and that is where the Texas Rangers came into play. Twenty seven years later the novel A Texas Ranger was introduced. • 15. Quality Systems And Quality Control This review will discuss the costs of quality systems and quality control in the scientific sense, within clinical laboratories by looking at the literature, to ultimately arrive at conclusions on whether the implementation of quality systems is financially beneficial or rather costly. The importance of such quality systems and the complex factors which impact the success and failure of such systems will also be discussed with reference to the literature. COST OF QUALITY The cost of quality (COQ) by definition, is the cost that is resultant of bad quality or the cost of implementing quality systems to ensure good quality within an organization [1]. The concept of quality saving money, time and effort was advocated by Phil Crosby who strongly contributed to quality management theory and famously stated that Quality is free; it s non conformance that costs [1]. Furthermore, poor quality has been shown to be common and costly amongst various industries [2]. The positive and encouraging evidence for implementing COQ programs, to ultimately produce higher quality services or products while saving resources, is widespread and abundant. Successful examples are numerous and include Motorola, Xerox and Westing house; companies which have cut quality costs by 30% to just 2 and 3% of sales over a period of time in endeavour to gain a competitive advantage on the market [2]. While some may argue that it may have been completely necessary in order to truly prevent any possible future uprisings from Thebes, they are only partially correct, as Alexander the Great could have possibly put down the rebellion in Thebes with half as many casualties. • 20. The Notion Of Jesus s Identity In The New Testament In the New Testament Jesus s identity as the Jewish messiah who is fully man and fully God is revealed. This notion of the God man identity is logically supported by the argument called the Trilemma. The concept of Salvation History signifies that Jesus is the fulfillment of the New Testament promises and more importantly covenants. Subsequently, typology is the interpretation of the Old Testamentin the light of the New Testament with accordance with Jesuss identity as the Godman. For example, God revealed more knowledge to us through the stages of revelation. In these stages God used words and deed to give us a fuller revelation. In the preparation stage God essentially prepared for the coming of Jesus. This foreshadowing of Jesus took place in many parts of the Old Testament. The Trilemma according to the church simplifies the possibilities of who Jesus could have been. This states that Jesus has reasonable belief to be considered a God man because he claimed to be divine. This is seen to be evident in the quote Amen, amen I say to you, before Abraham... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This argument states that the church over exaggerated Jesus s whole life and ministry. Additionally, that all of Jesus s followers and apostles were lying about Jesus conquering the grave and his miracles. This theory is rejected by the fact that the apostles had nothing to gain but everything to lose. The notion of the apostles being crucified, exiled, and imprisoned for a lie makes little or no sense. The other possible counter argument say s that Jesus said all humans have a divine nature and that he never intended himself to be out of the ordinary. Unfortunately, like the other counter argument this notion is easily diminished because Jesus was an Israelite not a Hindu. Furthermore, Jesus was charged and crucified for speaking the blasphemy that he was the messiah; the one and only divine Son of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Marty travels back in time in the first movie and back to the present time, and then in the second he goes into the future, then the present, then the past. Marty travels through all of these different timeperiods which become altered every time Marty and Doc travel in time. As they go between different time periods, Marty and Doc encounter different alternate universes that are coexisting. Robert took these events and placed them into the life of one man, making it seem as if humans can go back and manipulate the past to our liking. In this case, he used many special effects to create the reality that we can go back into time and manipulate the past to our liking. While he does not explicitly say this, it can be assumed that he went into the past to recreate it to fit his image of the future. Robert also made the movie Cast Away which uses time in a different fashion than Forrest Gump. In the movie, Chuck survives a plane crash in the middle of the ocean but is assumed to have died as he was not found. The civilized world assumes Chuck has died and has a proper funeral for him. However, Chuck is living on a deserted island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. In the beginning of the movie Chuck is obsessed with time, everything must be on time and everything is run and calculated to the second. For example, Chuck demands all of his employees be on time to the second as he walks around with a stop watch making sure that the employees make the deadline. Abstract The United States of America was a boiling time in the 1940 s. With World War II approaching, United States of America (USA) citizens went above and beyond to help out the cause. Doctor s and student of universities unraveled mysteries and did what some would call impossible. The USA needed more men for war and more people in the work force to cover jobs. Because of the desperateness and proudness of citizens, not only did women benefit but also racial minorities, homosexuals and the mentally ill benefited. Women all around the USA were picking up their husbands wrenches and were going to work. They had finally gotten the share of independence they longed for but, it wouldn t take long for women to take another step towards ultimate civil freedom. In March of 1942, women were able to step out of their dresses and jump into militant uniform. No longer did they need to become nurses to be in war, but now they had the opportunity to become greater than men. Women took jobs as WASP s , WAVES and WAC s . They trained male piolets, tested planes, free men of combat roles and worked as volunteer emergency medics (Berkin, Miller, Cherny, Gormly, 2015). If women did not get jobs or take lead, women may not have the same freedoms as of the 21st century. If women could do it, minorities could do it too. African Americans, homosexual and the mentally ill gained benefits from the war. African men now had complete ease going into the military and could serve the country like any other citizen could. This was a huge step for the USA because not long before, African Americans were extreamly segragated. This moment of allowance shows extream cilvil growth withing the states. The company was experiencing losses, the debt to equity ratio was out of control, and the company had positioned itself in so many diverse markets that most of the employees had no idea what the company mission and goals were. When David Simon took over as CEO, he was faced with the daunting task of turning the wayward company around. These are just a few of the characteristics Simon possessed in addition to being a good communicator and being able to inspire trust. In addition to possessing these leadership skills, Simon also possessed the skills necessary to motivate his employees to perform at their highest capacity. A recurring employee complaint was the ambiguous nature of company goals. The case tells us that in order to alleviate this, Simon set simple goals which were achievable in the short term so that employees could see their progress. Not only was this a way to enhance employees commitment to goals but it also helped reward the employees in timely manner. Simon also had the ability to empower his employees to achieve as he was described as having a sophisticated and unique talent for guiding people without them really knowing he is doing it (Davidson). All of the examples mentioned above worked well for Simon because he was able to excite employees and get them all working toward the same goal. By doing this he changed the culture of BP and in time improved overall company performance. Although Simon did great things for BP, his approach was not without flaw. One ... Effects Of Advertising On Teenagers An Essay on the Effects of Advertising on Teens The Effects Of Advertising On TeensThe effects of 2People see advertisements all around the globe that attempt to lure consumers to buy products. Advertisements are placed in newspapers, magazines, schools, and on billboards everywhere. According to marketing consultants Stan Rapp and Tom Collins, on a typical day, an average American sees over 5,000 advertisements a day (Gay, 1992). Many questions arise about these advertisements, such as Is advertising deceptive? Does it create or perpetuate stereotypes? Does it create conformity? Does it create insecurity in order to sell goods? Does it cause people to buy things that they really dont need?(Alexander Hanson, 1993, p. 240). Advertisers use specific methods to target teen consumers, but these methods are not always successful or ethical. Advertising is giving the general public information about new goods and trying to increase overall sales, which increases the efficiency of the nations economy. It is supposed to be a significant way of getting the point across about a product and create motivation for people to buy. Advertising alone, however, does not get customers. It simply catches consumers attention, gets them to walk up to a shelf, and make an impulsive purchase. However, getting the customer back requires a more creative marketing approach. The books talk about educators adding technology into the classroom. Technology is being used to transform classrooms. Even though the use of technology is suggested or required from teachers some fail to reiterate it into their curriculum (Johnson,2012, pg.83). This is due to confusion or some being scared to try something new. Instead some stick to the familiar such as using technology for communicating with parents, recording grades and attendance. The lack of usage in technology sometimes has to do with lack of resources (Johnson,2012, pg.83). One way to learn how to use technology more is to add a technology upgrade to your usual activities. Activities such as lectures, student writing, student research, class discussions, math problems, plays and skits, and student speeches. Whereas, if the experiments lack realism and has little in common with the natural environment, then the experiments would have low ecological validity. • 36. Why Prostitution Should Be Legalize Prostitution The act of engaging in sexual activity or intercourse in exchange for payment defines prostitution. The widely known view of prostitution continues to persist along the lines of immoral, unhealthy, violent, and discriminating. Many countries criminalize prostitution with the intentions of eliminating the problem altogether. This, in fact, drove prostitutionunderground making the problem even messier. No matter the view, the sex work industry will always have a demand. The networth of prostitution outweighs America s illegal drug and gun trade combined. Therefore, prostitution isn t going anywhere and remains one of the oldest professions in history. Many countries have already legalized prostitution including Germany, Greece, New Zealand, Austria, and Belgium. In doing so, these countries have the capability to maintain a proper work environment and provide health regulations among many other things. Prostitution should be legalized to ensure the medical safety of the prostitutes and their clients. Due to the criminalization of prostitution, prostitutes generally have a higher risk of transferring sexually transmitted diseases. A sexually transmitted disease, or STD, are diseases or infections that can only travel through a sexual act. Prostitutes make money from having sex with other people and in order to become prosperous, they must have sex with several different people. Many clients also refuse to use condoms. The prostitute will usually be offered more money if they participate in the sexual act without the use of a condom. Condoms are proven to be highly successful in preventing someone from contracting or spreading an STD according to the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention. If infected, many prostitutes are unaware of their condition because they can t afford to visit a healthcare professional or carry health insurance. The combination of a prostitutes tendency to exchange sexual intercourse with multiple people and the client s refusal to use condoms opens the prostitute to a greater possibility of transmitting an STD. Since a medical check up isn t financially an option or required for the prostitutes, the prostitute may potentially be spreading an STD to their client unknowingly. ... American literature is a branch of English literature and independent subject. American society is composed of different races and ethnicities, as suggested by the name of a title, and information on different trends, movements, styles and subject themes of American literature. • 42. Work Rate and Oxygen Uptake The Relationship Between Work Rate And Oxygen Uptake During Incremental Submaximal Exercise Introduction Oxygen uptake () describes the rate at which oxygen is utilized by tissues (Burton et al, 2004). is determined by heart rate (heart beats each minute), stroke volume (the volume of blood pumped from one ventricle each beat) and arteriovenous oxygen difference (difference in blood oxygen content between arterial and venous blood). Oxygen is needed for respiration, the chemical process that produces energy in the form of ATP. Several sources agree that oxygen uptake increases linearly with exercise, this is due to the skeletal muscles requirement for more oxygen for the production of more ATP. Hanson et al (1998) measured... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For the participant in this trial to sustain 60rpm, their muscles must produce progressively more force after each increment, as 0.5kg resistance is applied to the flywheel each time, therefore the energy demands of the muscle progressively increase. A deviation from the trend during the middle of the trial was not expected as most sources agree the relationship is linear (Burton, Г–zyener, Glassford), however Astrand (1961) found a non linear steeper increase in during the middle stages. Astrand s non linear pattern may be explained by production of power increasing to a point beyond the lactate threshold, the point at which lactic acid starts to accumulate in the blood. A slowly developing increase in during constant work rate exercise performed above the lactate threshold produces a curvilinear relationship and is known as the slow component of kinetics (Jones et al, 2011). The cause for the steep increase at the final stage of the trial is supported by the research of Bernard et al (1996), who measured the effects of increasing exercise intensities recording oxygen consumption and heart rate simultaneously. Findings revealed a significant correlation with the best predictions of from work rate observed at higher intensities. Bernard s findings support results in table 1 that ... • 43. Utilitarianism In Little Women By Louisa May Alcott Little Women By: Louisa May Alcott A Victorian literature characteristic shown in Little Women is utilitarianism. This is shown throughout the book as the four girls, Meg, Beth, Jo, and Amy were so kind and often tried to do things that make others happy and don t expect anything in return. This characteristic is evident when Beth said I ll tell you what we ll do, let s each get her (their dear mother) something for Christmas, and not get anything for ourselves (6). In this scene, the four sisters, who get along beautifully, were sitting by the fire and when they notice how worn out their mother s slippers were. Initially, they didn t get any gifts or presents for Christmas since their father was away at war and they had to save money so they decided to use a little of their hard earned money to each buy something for themselves. But after seeing the condition of Marmee s slippers, they decide to use their own money to buy something nice for their mother. This quote shows utilitarianism because the Beth, Meg, Jo, and Amy all give up their own hard earned money to do something nice and considerate for someone else. Essentially, the four loving sisters thought of doing something to make someone happy and put themselves aside for a while. Another Victorian literature characteristic shown in this book is social classstructure. This is evident throughout the entire novel because Meg, Beth, Jo, Amy, and Marmee are all quite poor and face many different issues ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Human Embryonic Stem Cell Research In the Declaration on the Production and the Scientific and Therapeutic Use of Human Embryonic Stem Cells, the Pontifical Academy for Life presents the field of stem cell research with a statement regarding the official Roman Catholic position on the moral aspects of acquiring and using human embryonic stem cells. They have declared that it is not morally legitimate to produce or use human embryos as a source of stem cells, nor is it acceptable to use stem cells from cell lines already established. Thus, bringing up the conflicting topic concerned with the point in time in which a human embryo becomes more than a simple mass of cells, but a human individual with a well defined identity. Gerard Magil and William B. Neaves, in their paper Ontological and Ethical Implications of Direct Nuclear Reprogramming has conflicted the Academy s position on stem cellresearch with an alternative understanding of adult stem cells. In what follows, I will argue that the Academy does not adequately defend the Church s standpoint on stem cell research. However, I will also suggest that even if the Church s position were accepted, this would not provide an adequate solution to the ethical question revolving around stem cell research. In order to rightly investigate the position defined in the Declaration on the Production and the Scientific and Therapeutic Use of Human Embryonic Stem Cells a summary must first be presented. The Academy outlines and endorses the Roman Catholic Church s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The debate is from people not wanting zoos and some people liking zoos, many people don t want zoos because the animals may not be healthy, but some people like zoos because they are healthy. Many zoos shouldn t be kept because the animals do not feel very good around people, zoos should not be kept because, in zoos, animals are kept in captivity, animals behavior changes, and the animals are not taken care of the right way. Most of these ramifications of Hurricane Katrina came from the phycological, economic and medical effects due to this natural disaster, Hurricane Katrina has plagued both lower class African Americanadults and their children due to the phycological effects. The repercussions of Hurricane Katrina had an everlasting effect on the lives of most adult victims. Many adults were at risk for being diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. This was defined in an article as, an anxiety disorder that can develop after a person has experienced an ordeal that poses severe physical harm (Hurricane Katrina). A natural disaster like Hurricane Katrina would have been a primary trigger for causing Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Unfortunately, the realization of this disease was that most adults effected would never be able to feel safe again. On the other hand, the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina on the lives of the innocent children was also just as devastating. Many children were at the risk of developing a disease called Serious Emotional Disturbance. This disease would have been caused by a traumatizing event. An example of this was Hurricane Katrina. The outcome would have caused severe stress on mainly the effected children. In their future, this disease would challenge the children s thinking and problem coping difficulties. As discussed in one article, children with SED are not able to cope with their peers or their environment (Hurricane Katrina). She loved picking the roses and finding the small white pearl that lay within the rare ones. Red roses were her favourite, their lush, bright petals never drooping or falling, and in some circumstances, they smelled sweeter than any of the other roses. Proserpinas favourite rose of all, however, was one made entirely of rubies and emeralds. The red rubies made up the petals and the emeralds became the stem and a leaf. • 52. Commentary On The Book Thief In The Orc By Triad This short book had an interesting storytelling technique in that you just got thrown into the middle of two men with a history together, and you really had no clue what was going on. Even by the end of the book I still wasn t real clear what their past entailed and what they had meant to each other or what they meant to each other by the end. JT, the orc, is a mechanic who I think was a car thief in the past, and Austin, an elf, is still the same slick con man who he s always been. Everything in this story is based on the men s backstory, but that backstory is never fully conceptualized. There are brief flashbacks into the men s relationship (well, it was basically just a sex scene), but they were a bit confusing as to time and place in relation to what is happening in the present. Normally the only time I feel lost in a book is when it s a series and it s not a stand alone book, but this book skated the edge in a lot of areas. Filamentous fungi contain multinuclear hyphae compartments which means that not all nuclei within the fungi will contain the construct. Subculturing was carried out on media containing antibiotic to purify transformants from non transformants. There was fifty independent transformants for each cdc24 EGFP and cdc24 PH EGFP.
