The Velvet Roses For Lena And Corinthians
The velvet roses symbolize the lack of love in the Dead s household, for Lena and Corinthians the
velvet rose symbolize the Oppression face in society, on top of being black and living in a racist
society they also must face a second level of oppression for being women. Throughout the novel,
Macon Dead neve allows his two daughters to go out and live life, causing them to remain sheltered

Assignment #3 BLAW 502 (Summer Class I, 2013): The Richard Spellman Case
Total word count: 1724
1) Is there any need for Spellman to wade through the draft documents?
(224 words)
There is definitely the need for Richard Spellman to go through the draft documents. He needs to
ensure that the employment deal that he had discussed with Walt Sawyer was in fact what the contract
spelled out and that all information that has been exchanged informally, has been taken into
consideration on the formal agreement.. In the Open Items email sent by Spellman to Sawyer, the only
topic that wasn t explained in further detail was Spellman s base salary; further in detail clarification
was provided for bonuses, equity, and equity pool. Spellman ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

By taking advantage of a Section 83(b) election, Spellman s tax liability will be less than paying tax
when the shares become vested.
As for stock options, the tax liability depends on whether the option is a nonqualified stock option
(NQO) and an incentive stock option (ISO). When an NQO is exercised the tax liability will be at the
ordinary income rate equal to the current fair market value minus the option exercise price. Upon sale
the stock will be taxed at the capital gains rate equal to the sale of the stock minus the fair market
value on date of exercise. An ISO does not have a tax consequence, though alternative minimum tax
may be due. When the stock is sold, and if it had been held for more than one year from the date of
exercise and more than two years from being grated, the spread will be taxed at the capital gains rate.
Otherwise, the spread will be taxed as ordinary income.
Second, he wanted to ensure that his equity stake would not be diluted. Any future issuance of equity
would dilute existing shareholders percentage of ownership. Therefore Spellman and Sawyer agreed
to an antidilution provision that allowed Spellman s equity to be non dilutable by the first $35 million
of financing. He would receive an additional percentage as a bonus at the initial public offering.
The last issue focused on termination of employment. Spellman wanted to outline within the

Civil Litigation Detection Paper
A civil lawsuit involves an individual, business or governmental agency that is seeking relief from
another individual, business or governmental agency. They seek the reimbursement of monetary
damages or equitable relief for harm caused to an individual or group.
Parties to civil suits may choose to have their cases decided by a jury or a judge only. Most cases are
negotiated outside of the courtroom and a settlement agreement between the parties is entered.
When a person, group of people or business entity feels harmed by another usually consults with an
attorney in an effort to resolve the dispute and obtain equitable relief or money damages. The attorney
interviews witnesses and perform legal research. If there is a legitimate cause of action against the
wrongdoer, the attorney and client executes retainer agreement,
The plaintiff s attorney then notifies the defendant of the wrong doing. The demand ... Show more

Criminal Litigation Procedure
Criminal actions involve injustices against the people of the state and are filed by the state or federal
government or both against an individual alleged to have committed a crime. If there is assault and
battery a person can be charge criminally and sued civilly.
In criminal cases an individual accused of a serious crime is rarely desirous of arguing a case to a
judge only. An accused and the prosecutor negotiate a mutually satisfactory disposition of the case
without going to trial whereby the defendant usually agrees to plead guilty to a lesser charge in return
for the state willingness to drop the more serious charge. This process is call plea

Analysis Of Aimee Bender s Willful Creatures
Aimee Bender s Willful Creatures is a collection of fifteen short stories each with their own unique
story. Although each story has its own plot and characters, the overall effect produced individually ties
the book together into one single work. Whether the story is about a woman and her potatoes, a girl
who is bullied throughout her life, or a man who has intercourse with single mothers, the problems of
society is enlightened. Bender ultimately shapes her novel into a collection of satirical pieces directed
towards society. Through the individual messages portrayed in the stories, including Dearth,
Debbieland, and Motherfucker, Bender exaggerates and criticizes problems in society. Ultimately, the
satirical aspects of each story connect them with each other and makes Willful Creatures a work of
criteria to humanity. Each story portrays a different assessment of social issues. Take for instance,
Dearth presents a story about a lonely woman and her potatoes that transform into potato children. The
protagonist of Dearth is thrown into a messy motherhood and is forced to deal with taking care of the
newly born potato children ( Willful Creatures ). For a decent amount of the story, the protagonist
resents the potatoes and tries to do whatever she can to get rid of them, such as throwing them outside
or burying them in her yard (Bender 154 and 163). Her neglect and mistreatment of the potatoes are
utilized as a criteria to the ignorance that people feel towards their

Country Music Genre Essay
What has influenced a crossroad in two of music s biggest genres Country, Pop? In this paper I m
going to state and defend my position on why I think it s good for both genres. I will also give reasons
on why people believe Hick Hop is bad for both cultures.
Country music has always been inspired by African Americans folk music. Since African Americans
weren t allowed to perform their folk songs white performers would paint their face and sing the
honky tonk. With common theme, and history the only thing that separates the two genres is the
presentation.
But back to current day the first time we witnessed Hick Hop was in 2005 when cowboy troy
collaborated the two genres to create I play chicken with the train. Cowboy troy was African American
which was uncommon, but what stood out more was his way of integrating rap into his music.
Since cowboy troy many artist have followed in his path. This past year the number one hit song by
Florida Georgia Line (Cruise) was remixed by rapper Nelly and it sky rocketed up the music charts.
But nelly wasn t the only rapper to remix country music the other most recent rapper to team up with a
country star was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sociologist Tressie McMillan Cottom is one of the people that doesn t believes in Hick Hop this is
what she had to say in her article The Racial Dynamics of Hick Hop . I think it goes back to country
being fundamentally about a better, simpler time. And that s always a nostalgic feeling, about a better
past. So even when the music is about fun, and isn t on the surface about the past, the genre is about
that. And for white people a lot of talking about the good old times is talking about a pre integration
time a pre Civil Rights time, a time before interracial dating was common. So they ve got to walk a
fine line there between holding up the nostalgia of the genre and tapping into the youth

Wuthering Heights Justice Quotes
In the novel by Emily Bronte, Wuthering Heights, one of the main characters, named Heathcliff
Earnshaw, is in search for justice and vengeance throughout his whole life. First, Heathcliff wants
justice by mistreating his brother s son the way he mistreated when they were children. Also he
searches justice by destroying his lover s husband and taking Thrushcross Grange as his property.
Furthermore, it is noticeable that Heathcliff s perspective of justice is actually revenge.
Although Hindley s son, Hareton, was not guilty for the way his father treated Heathcliff, he still took
his anger into the little child. After Mr. Earnshaw s death, Hindley degraded Heathcliff by making him
a servant just because he had always been their father s favorite

The Terror Of The Islamic State
In the aftermath of a violent event, people often ask, Why? However, the question of what motivates
people to both engage in and support violence remains a puzzle and is the subject of much debate.
Within that broader question, there is a particular lack of understanding of how groups with extreme
views that support violence motivate supporters. The Islamic State (also referred to as ISIS or ISIL) is
perhaps the most salient terrorist group today in light of recent, high profile attacks such as those in
Belgium and Paris. However, Islamist ideology is not the only threat. Domestic right wing groups can
also motivate violent action on their behalf. The recent occupation of an Oregon wildlife refuge by an
armed group led by Ammon Bundy brought renewed media attention to right wing militia movements.
The Three Percenters, their name referring to the supposed 3% of the colonists who took up arms in
the American Revolution, are one such militia group. They are primarily motivated by the preservation
of private gun ownership and are preparing to resist any perceived threats to their constitutional rights.
There is a rapidly growing literature on this process of radicalization. Though there is no single cause,
and violent behavior does not necessarily follow radical attitudes that support the use of violence
(Neumann 2013; Leuprecht et al. 2010), little is known regarding the actual causal mechanisms (Silke
2008). In the media and popular discussion, the Internet is often cited

Concert Promoter Is Live Nation
but also creates connections that can make an artist more successful as a band with collaborators than
just by themselves. It cannot be certain if this will be as easy and profitable as sharing music through a
major label, but it is a way for an artist to keep their rights to their songs and work (Cayari, 2011).
This solution is a very risky one, but it can be very successful as well. Becoming a YouTube star leads
to more lucrative avenues such as TV appearances and movie deals (Curien Moreau, 2009). Whatever
the outcome, the success and money will take longer than if the artist were given a contract.

The other advantages to signing with Live Nation is that they are an Artist Nation; this means they
believe in being a partner to the artist and assist in managing a variety of rights, fanbases, touring, and
provide direct connection to fans. Unlike the 360 deal, Artist Nation does not confiscate publishing
from the artist, which is a big revenue stream typically. In turn, this provides the artist with more
income. The major areas that Live Nation profits from are: recorded music, merchandising, fan sites
and ticketing, broadcast rights, sponsorship, marketing, and digital rights management. This may seem
like a lot, but the percentage they take is about 6% in each of these areas. The biggest percentage Live
Nation takes is from ticket sales because that is what they are known for and that is the money making
part of the business for most artists. A disadvantage to Live Nation is they lack licensing and
distribution like record labels however, sometimes a deal can be made through a record label just for
distribution purposes. Although Live Nation lacks in certain areas that major labels have; they are
making agreements with other companies such as, Ticketmaster, to help their artists as well as
themselves to become successful. One of these strategies involves ticketing and fan clubs. The core of
the music industry is not albums or singles, but live performance; hence why Live Nation is

Social Security Programs Essay
America s Social Security Program s Change Over Time
America s Social Security Program is much different from any other financial security system around
the world. The initial framework for America s Social Security Program modeled German and
Bismarckian financial security programs, and its primary goal was to regulate mandatory social
insurance financed from payroll taxes instead of a model similar to the United Kingdom s flat rate
benefits subject to a means or earnings test (Hoskins). In addition, President Roosevelt stressed the
distinction between social insurance and social assistance, expressing preference for earned rights

In order to counteract the worsening government Social Security Program, America must implement
individual retirement programs unique to each citizen and effectively regulated by asset managers.
This new social insurance would be independent of government regulation and unreliant on the
declining population. In addition, it would create more job opportunities in the future by increasing the
need for employment among asset managers. In turn, this increase in employment would strengthen
individuals economic status, the public economy, and not cause any negative effects on the individual
retirement programs. Also, the use of individual accounts would actively exemplify America s
government emphasizing the importance of America s mantra of liberty and freedom in an economic
perspective. The implementation of individual accounts works in increasing Americans individual
private income, stabilizing America s public economy, and maintains important cultural integrity of
personal liberty with financial freedom, making a very effective solution to America s defective Social

Caracal is an alternative rock band based in Singapore which has been around since 2006. The band
consists of five members, KC Meals on vocals, Henry Louis Velge on the bass guitar, Gabriel De
Souza on the lead guitar, Field Teo on the rhythm guitar and Martin Kong on drums. Since their debut
into the local scene in 2006, Caracal has gained fame among the locals in Singapore and is considered

Also, making sure that media attention on the band is closely monitored while sending press releases
to the media informing about upcoming performances and public appearances. Lastly, the manager has
to acquire the help of a publicist or if not needed, publicise the band as it adds value to the band by
setting up CD sales, getting more bookings for shows and interviews. Opportunities for Caracal is that
being based in Singapore, the market is small and is easier to break into the music scene and be one of
the famous bands around. On the other hand, the limitation of being in Singapore is that the music
scene is not as recognized and huge such as companies in the United States of America where talent
scouts are everywhere looking for new talent every other day for their record labels. Therefore, an
action plan must be set for the goals, aims and objectives of both the band and the manager must be
put into place. Firstly, with the band flying off overseas for the Canadian Music Festival in Toronto,
press releases must be printed and sent out to the media involved in the music festival. Not stopping
there, more press releases and also portable info packs should be printed out so that when attending
artists networking conferences in Canada, the United States of America or in fact anywhere around the
world, the manager is able to promote their band to A list record labels or scouts. Networking is an

China s Significance Of The United States
Assessing China as a whole could become a rigorous challenge, but for the purpose of this paper,
certain areas will be analyzed. The First topic of interest is China s significance to the United States
(U.S.), most notably, China s economic influence and partnership with the United States. When
mentioning China s significance, China s vast standing army of 2.3 million, with millions more
available for service must receive attention. The next portion of this look into China will involve a
synopsis of threats to and from China and the threats justification with possible immediate and future
implications. Economic partnership involving the U.S. and China is an extensive one. U.S. China
economic ties have expanded substantially over the past three decades. Total U.S. China trade rose
from $2 billion in 1979 to $562 billion in 2013. China is currently the United State s second largest
trading partner, its third largest export market, and its biggest source of imports. China is involved in
almost all aspects of U.S. trade. China keeps U.S. interest rates low because of the large amount of
debt it holds and consolidates, which reaches into the trillions, rending the U.S. obligated to China.
China s ability to mass produce with quantity, at a low cost to the American consumer and the rest of
the world allows the country to rapidly grow economically, but not without short comings. The 1979
Bilateral Trade Agreement between the U.S. and China s introduction into the World

Proposal For Higher Education
Current Research
Current research over student debt and its burden has allowed an insight and analyzation over the
government s role in higher education at the federal, state, and local level. Through data of institution
cost efficiency and inefficiency, tax exporting, and the backgrounds of student borrowers,
policymakers and can create a visual representation of the importance of state allocations towards
higher education.
Government matters. A study done by Sav (2016), explores the decreases in state and federal Pell
Grant funding for public colleges in the United States whose funding decreased from 32% to 23%
from 2004 2013. Sav s study concluded that state funding appropriations contributed significantly to
the higher education ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Second, it is crucial that the states, rather than the federal government solely, play a more concrete
role in reducing the burden for millions of student borrowers. Third, policymakers should take into
consideration the dynamics and backgrounds of the student body in higher education institutions when
considering appropriations.
Collective Themes
Several themes and elements are recurrent in this research of college affordability. Federalism
concerns add fuel to the debate of the role of government in higher education policymaking. Ethical,
equity, economic, and political issues arise that divide citizens between considering higher education a
public or a private good, whether it has economic benefits, and whether it is worth taxpayer dollars.
The themes are consistent through the perspectives of the history, media, government enactments,
public opinion, political parties, interest groups and research.
Federalism
The relationship between the national government and state governments has changed and expanded
immensely (Kraft Furlong, 2015). How does the issue of rising tuition, high student loan interests, and
student debt detail federalism? The authority of each level of government is questioned in education
policy. How much power should the national government have over higher education?
Constitutionally, the national government only has explicitly enumerated

Symptoms And Symptoms Of Early Onset Bipolar Disorder
Early onset bipolar disorder is a chronic mood disturbance that causes dramatic shifts in one s mood
that is uncharacteristic of their normal mood and behavior. This hereditary behavioral disorder causes

adolescence but can appear as early as elementary school. The unique symptoms of this age group are
angry and aggressive outbursts followed by periods of remorse and guilt, declining academic

All of the individual s symptoms must cause significant distress or impairment at home, work or

listed in the DSM IV TR includes an overly high, expansive, or irritable mood present for at least one

Sister Act Analysis
The Sister Act, a musical theatre show, written by Cheri Steinkellner and Bill Steinkellner, was a hit
musical during the late two thousand, making all the way to Broadway. It has its roots in the era of
disco, with all types of different distinctions from modern types of music, and with its plot, it also
delves into the realm of hymns and old gospel music, which all culminates into a musical theatre
extravaganza.
It being a musical, makes it hard to distinguish one genre in particular, but the overlying theme seems
to be based on late 70 s disco (as that is the setting for the musical in the first place). The line up of
instruments were: two keyboardists, a trumpet, a clarinet, a saxophone, a flute, an electric bass, drums,
and a lot of vocalists. All the woodwinds and brass instruments were covered by one guy, and a lot
more additional instrumentation was covered by the keyboardist.
Their instrumentation in the play seemed mediocre initially, but after listening to how they were able
to cooperate with one another, to create harmonies sounding so consonant was incredibly interesting,
especially with vocalists thrown in. The voices mixing with the instruments and vice versa made it
sound almost angelical . The harmonies created were also very southern gospel sounding in certain
points in the musical.
The vocalists varied from scene to scene but in total, there seemed to be about 22 vocalists in all.

Attachment And Loss Volume 1
Attachment and Loss Volume 1 Attachment John Bowlby, Pimlico, 1997 Attachment and Loss Volume
1 is part of a trilogy by John Bowlby (1907 1990) on seeking a theoretical formulation to attachment
behaviour to explain the nature of the bonds between a child and its mother. John Bowlby sets out to
discuss the theoretical implications of some observations of how young children respond to temporary
loss of mother . He recognised that he would need to develop a theory of behaviour control using a
scientific approach; establishing the grounds for his view and his reasons for assuming it. The psychic
energy model employed by Freud is still regarded as untestable and other psychoanalytic theories have
historically has been worked from an existing state, backward to an earlier development. Bowlby
wanted a theory that extrapolated forward from any occurrence deemed to be possibly pathogenic to
the developing personality. In the place of psychical energy and its discharge, the central concepts are
those of behavioural systems and their control, of information, negative feedback, and a behavioural
form of homeostasis. Almost half of the book is regarding Bowlby s exploration and exposition of the
biological and psychological basis for attachment. He provides and exceedingly in depth investigation
into instinctive behaviour, its cause, function and ontogeny. He explores what behaviour is termed
instinctive and its traits, the control systems that regulate it and discusses how

Supply and Demand and Demand Curve
1. Suppose there are 100 consumers with identical individual demand curves. When the price of a

the most likely quantity demanded in the market when the price is $6? Explain and show calculations,
While the question asks of the choices given what the quantity demanded will be, there are no choices

Give two examples. One factor that might have shifted this demand curve is a change in taste and/or

for a complement like cheese spread. If the price of cheese spread for popcorn is reduced then the
demand for cheese spread and thus popcorn would increase, shifting the demand curve for popcorn. 7.

FIFA World Cup Controversy
Controversy has continuously followed wherever FIFA World Cup goes, and it appears that Russia is
set to follow suit for the 2018 games. It should come as no surprise that there is global unease while

Political tensions between Russia and the rest of the world may also come into play when

United States of America have become involved in the Ukraine crisis with the creation of the Ukraine

Polar Bear Environmental Impact
Throughout history, humans have modified their environment to suit their needs, such as housing,
agriculture, and industry, but we are now seeing major changes to the environment on a scale not
witnessed before. The greenhouse effect has run rampant through man s use of fossil fuels and is
causing major changes to the planet, many unseen by people not directly affected. Human overuse of
dirty energies that produce CO2 has led to shrinking Arctic ice and warmer temperatures that cause
disruption for the animals and people who live there. Glaciers, in places such as Iceland and Canada,
and the Arctic ice sheet are melting, breeding seasons are changing, and people and animals are being
displaced (Greene et. al., 2008). Some changes have been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The frequency of long distance swims in the polar bear population is increasing, beginning in late
spring as the sea ice starts melting, when the bears migrate from the sea ice to land or offshore pack
ice (Pilfold et. al. 2017). Warmer temperatures are causing ice to become much thinner and more
mobile. Instead of walking on a consolidated sea ice surface, polar bears may be forced to undertake
long distance swims to complete their migratory route (Pilfold et. al. :190, 2017). Since polar bears are
not pack animals, the effects of climate change on migratory behavior can vary greatly between
individual, and, therefore, this study compares male and female adults and male and female subadults.
Subadults of both sexes swam as much as an adult female did, but adult females with cubs were less
likely to swim than the other age classes (Pilfold et. al. 2017). The swims are also made in correlation
to the ice; there is a positive relation in the distance of the ice from land and the rate in which it
retreated with the frequency of swims. Most swims were made before the ice had reached its
minimum, and when it expands again, the bears track its movement toward the continental shelf

Controversy swarms this topic because many believe partition to be an inherently evil British concept,
along with it being one of the main causes for an escalated North Ireland conflict. John Whyte covered
this topic using the Organizational Process method. When Britain decided to return Ireland to a state
of Home Rule, the Ulster unionist backlash was huge. Faced with a crisis, Ireland s officials were slow
to act. Britain stepped in to try to hastily resolve the conflict. British parliament proceeded to view the
conflict along pre established nationality lines of Catholic nationalists and Protestant unionists.
Parliament ignored the fact that many Protestant unionists were not organized or firm on their position
against Home Rule. Britain did not understand that Protestant unionists were able to be coerced or
appeased without partition. Britain also chose to partition because it was one of the first solutions
presented, one that they were quick to use in foreign affairs. They failed to realize that countries like
India and Palestine were thrown into decades of turmoil because Britain or Britain s allies chose to
partition the countries. Partition was also one of the resource efficient ways of calming down the Irish.
After entering WWI, British attention was not fully focused on the North Ireland conflict. After hastily
pushing Home Rule through, the final rejection

Air Pollution continues to be a problem in Australia, and is constantly increasing each year. Experts
say that if we don t minimize the impacts of development and reduce air pollution, Australia s global

the high level and concentration of industry compared to our population.
In Australia 3000 deaths each year are caused by air pollution. Scientific research shows that over the

The Disadvantages Of Homeschooling
Homeschooling is when the parent makes the decision to educate their child at home. This form of
homeschooling has increased over the past few years, but it is not new. According to Robert Houston
Jr and Eugenia Toma(2003), homeschooling has been around since the 17th and 18th centuries.
Homeschooling during those centuries were typically done by wealthy or family that could afford the
price of private tutors. There is a difference between homeschooling then and now. In one of tge
supplementary reading this week it state and our country s early history, home education was, in part,
due to the lack of available alternatives (Houston and Toma, 2003). In today s society, unlike earlier
history, we are afraid of multiple alternative, but meaning shoes homeschooling because it fits their
family better than other alternatives.
There are a couple of disadvantages for the children being homeschooled. A child that has always been
homeschool might feel lonely. For the students that attended school before and started homeschooling
after attending school might miss their friends and that environment. Richard Medlin (2000) add
students that were in public school that were transitioned to homeschooling how they felt about the
transition. Many of the students that he acts said they miss their friends, so left out of normal school
activities(dances/sports), and felt they might lose touch with scenes normal kids were interested in.

respected field experts have to say on the matter of interracial families and children (Collins 1984).

Twice, there is more of a focus on the responses and reactions of the general public. As many may be
aware, there was an out lash on social media websites, such as Twitter and Facebook, over this ad that
featured a cheerful interracial couple and their children. The whimsical, laughing family seemed
innocent enough, but there was a clear revolt among the more bigoted communities. This lead to a
powerful reaction from interracial couples and families who took the rejection of the ad personally. In
turn, they posted their own photos of their families to protest the racism and supposed white
discrimination that many complained of. This was a very important event because it brought the topic
of interracial couples into the spotlight of the media and it was clear that there was a very steady
divide between those who accepted and disapproved. While this wasn t necessarily a poll or a census,
there was a very clear message that could be concluded from the Twitter war (Perez Pena

considering making a bid for its American counterpart. This kind of scuttlebutt isn t new, as Canadian
Pacific CEO Keith Creel has made it clear that he s on the prowl. Most recently, it was reported that

But no one has made any definite moves yet. CP s 6% pop reflects just how excited people are at the

Canada and pandering to the increased production of oil and demand for other consumer goods. A
merger would bring together the East coast footprint of Norfolk Southern and the West coast footprint
of Canadian Pacific, which happens to be backed by activist hedge fund manager Bill Ackman.
Overall, such a deal would send a positive message about the future of the economy. CP has fallen
over 8% in the past month, so it s hard to commit to as a standalone investment, even as a potential
long term play. I ll be keeping my eye on the company as merger talks continue, but don t hold your

Every Thanksgiving cook s worst nightmare is something going wrong with the turkey. It s the
centerpiece of the meal and what people are most looking forward to. Having a fully cooked turkey
means that as a cook you ve bypassed the first potential horror story, but you still have to get the
turkey from the roasting pan onto a serving platter. One mom was in charge of cooking the turkey for

turkey from the roasting pan to put it on a serving dish, except the turkey slipped and crashed to the
floor. Mother and daughter looked at each other with mouths gaping, but then the mother picked the
turkey up with both hands and put it on the serving platter. She looked at her daughter again and
uttered with quiet steel, Nothing happened.

Inflective and Forward Personalities
In Chaim Potok s The Chosen, two contrasting characters are introduced Reuven Malter and Danny

stark contrast an inflective soul, listening to silence, and growing from it. These characters set the
stage for a lasting relationship to form, to be strengthened, and to be stressed.
Danny s father s name is Reb Saunders. The tzaddik of a small community within close proximity of

father of the events, his father tells him that he should have listened. This response on David s part
initially caused Reuven to listen to Danny when he returned the second time.
You did a foolish thing, Reuven, he told me sternly. You remember what the Talmud says. If a person

The Role of Membership Fees on Public Goods
INTRODUCTION:
Public goods are goods that are neither excludable, nor rival in consumption. Excludability means the
extent the consumption of a good is limited, while rival refers to the extent the consumption of a
particular good limits the consumption of others who wants to consume that particular good. However,
some goods do not have both characteristics these goods are called pure public goods, meanwhile
others have either of the characteristics, they can be referred to as, club goods, local public goods,
common resources. Also, some goods are characterized as rival and excludable in consumption, these
goods are called private goods. Also, clubs goods, local public goods are refers to as quasi public
goods, although they may seem as public goods there very nature are not pure public goods. This
paper will focus more on public goods, as it will be used to explore the under supply of public goods
provision (Mcnutts 1991,930). The prominent characteristics of club goods is its excludability factor,
which might signify unequal distribution of the club goods, however, the club goods can be said to be
somewhat rivalrous as shown in table 1, this is because club goods can create a sense of rivalry for
individuals outside the club. Moreover, for individuals inside the club there might be rivalry in
consumption when a point of congestion is reached. The club theory proposes several solutions to
enhance the optimal provision of the club good, which includes membership fees (Bchir

Franz Liszt As A Hungarian Pianist From The Romantic Period
Franz Liszt was an extremely talented Hungarian pianist from the romantic period. Liszt was born on
October 22, 1811 in Raiding, Hungary. Liszt s father was Ádåm Liszt, an official in the service of
Prince Nicolas Eszterhåzy, whose palace was often visited by celebrated musicians. Ádåm Liszt was a
talented amateur musician who played cello, as well as several other instruments in court concerts.
Franz Liszt s father passionately taught him how to play piano, and by the age of 6, was already
recognized as a child Prodigy. At this age, Liszt began to show interest in both church and gypsy
music. He developed into a religious child, partly because of his father who spent two years of his
youth in the Franciscan order. By the age of eight, Liszt began to compose elementary works. At the
age of nine, he made his first public appearance as a concert pianist at Sopron and Pozsony. His
playing impressed the local Hungarian magnates so much that they put up the money to pay for his
musical education for the next six years. His father took a leave of absence from the Prince, so that he
could devote his time to helping his son s musical education. They went to Vienna, where he learned
piano with Carl Czerney, a composer and pianist who had been a pupil of Beethoven, and studied
composition with Antonio Salieri, the musical director at the Viennese Court and one of Mozart s
rivals. Liszt continued to perform concerts with great success, his most notable talent being his ability

How Did Joseph Stalin Conquer Poland
The devastating attack on Poland was a major factor that dictated the beginning of World War Two

Poland, they knew that their actions would provoke the greater superpowers of Europe (Britain and
France), but they were more than ready to combat them. On the other hand, they were more worried
about what Russia s Joseph Stalin was capable of. Ironically, Russia was the one wanting peace when

Fascinated By Arbus
It is important to mention how some of the people that were photographed by Arbus are shown as
characters in the movie. The opening scene is about Diane wanting to photograph people at a nudist
camp, relating to real life photographs that she had taken of nudists. The whole film also makes a
point of acknowledging that Arbus wanted to get to know the subject and familiarise herself with the
people she was going to take a picture of. In the last scene she sits next to a woman who asks her if
she is going to take a picture of her and Diane says, not yet then asks, tell me a secret which shows
how she takes an interest into who they are as well as what they look like. Shainberg draws narrative
from her real life and uses it many times throughout, especially in the way that he includes the dwarfs

As for stock options, the tax liability depends on whether the option is a nonqualified stock option (NQO) and an incentive stock option (ISO). When an NQO is exercised the tax liability will be at the ordinary income rate equal to the current fair market value minus the option exercise price. Upon sale the stock will be taxed at the capital gains rate equal to the sale of the stock minus the fair market value on date of exercise. • 5. Analysis Of Aimee Bender s Willful Creatures Aimee Bender s Willful Creatures is a collection of fifteen short stories each with their own unique story. Although each story has its own plot and characters, the overall effect produced individually ties the book together into one single work. Whether the story is about a woman and her potatoes, a girl who is bullied throughout her life, or a man who has intercourse with single mothers, the problems of society is enlightened. Bender ultimately shapes her novel into a collection of satirical pieces directed towards society. Through the individual messages portrayed in the stories, including Dearth, Debbieland, and Motherfucker, Bender exaggerates and criticizes problems in society. Ultimately, the satirical aspects of each story connect them with each other and makes Willful Creatures a work of criteria to humanity. Each story portrays a different assessment of social issues. Take for instance, Dearth presents a story about a lonely woman and her potatoes that transform into potato children. The protagonist of Dearth is thrown into a messy motherhood and is forced to deal with taking care of the newly born potato children ( Willful Creatures ). For a decent amount of the story, the protagonist resents the potatoes and tries to do whatever she can to get rid of them, such as throwing them outside or burying them in her yard (Bender 154 and 163). • 6. Country Music Genre Essay What has influenced a crossroad in two of music s biggest genres Country, Pop? In this paper I m going to state and defend my position on why I think it s good for both genres. I will also give reasons on why people believe Hick Hop is bad for both cultures. Country music has always been inspired by African Americans folk music. Since African Americans weren t allowed to perform their folk songs white performers would paint their face and sing the honky tonk. With common theme, and history the only thing that separates the two genres is the presentation. But back to current day the first time we witnessed Hick Hop was in 2005 when cowboy troy collaborated the two genres to create I play chicken with the train. Cowboy troy was African American which was uncommon, but what stood out more was his way of integrating rap into his music. Since cowboy troy many artist have followed in his path. Wuthering Heights Justice Quotes In the novel by Emily Bronte, Wuthering Heights, one of the main characters, named Heathcliff Earnshaw, is in search for justice and vengeance throughout his whole life. First, Heathcliff wants justice by mistreating his brother s son the way he mistreated when they were children. Also he searches justice by destroying his lover s husband and taking Thrushcross Grange as his property. Furthermore, it is noticeable that Heathcliff s perspective of justice is actually revenge. • 8. The Terror Of The Islamic State In the aftermath of a violent event, people often ask, Why? However, the question of what motivates people to both engage in and support violence remains a puzzle and is the subject of much debate. Within that broader question, there is a particular lack of understanding of how groups with extreme views that support violence motivate supporters. The Islamic State (also referred to as ISIS or ISIL) is perhaps the most salient terrorist group today in light of recent, high profile attacks such as those in Belgium and Paris. However, Islamist ideology is not the only threat. Domestic right wing groups can also motivate violent action on their behalf. The recent occupation of an Oregon wildlife refuge by an armed group led by Ammon Bundy brought renewed media attention to right wing militia movements. The Three Percenters, their name referring to the supposed 3% of the colonists who took up arms in the American Revolution, are one such militia group. They are primarily motivated by the preservation of private gun ownership and are preparing to resist any perceived threats to their constitutional rights. There is a rapidly growing literature on this process of radicalization. Though there is no single cause, and violent behavior does not necessarily follow radical attitudes that support the use of violence (Neumann 2013; Leuprecht et al. 2010), little is known regarding the actual causal mechanisms (Silke 2008). It cannot be certain if this will be as easy and profitable as sharing music through a major label, but it is a way for an artist to keep their rights to their songs and work (Cayari, 2011). This solution is a very risky one, but it can be very successful as well. Becoming a YouTube star leads to more lucrative avenues such as TV appearances and movie deals (Curien Moreau, 2009). The major areas that Live Nation profits from are: recorded music, merchandising, fan sites and ticketing, broadcast rights, sponsorship, marketing, and digital rights management. This may seem like a lot, but the percentage they take is about 6% in each of these areas. The biggest percentage Live Nation takes is from ticket sales because that is what they are known for and that is the money making part of the business for most artists. A disadvantage to Live Nation is they lack licensing and distribution like record labels however, sometimes a deal can be made through a record label just for distribution purposes. Although Live Nation lacks in certain areas that major labels have; they are making agreements with other companies such as, Ticketmaster, to help their artists as well as themselves to become successful. Sister Act Analysis The Sister Act, a musical theatre show, written by Cheri Steinkellner and Bill Steinkellner, was a hit musical during the late two thousand, making all the way to Broadway. It has its roots in the era of disco, with all types of different distinctions from modern types of music, and with its plot, it also delves into the realm of hymns and old gospel music, which all culminates into a musical theatre extravaganza. It being a musical, makes it hard to distinguish one genre in particular, but the overlying theme seems to be based on late 70 s disco (as that is the setting for the musical in the first place). The line up of instruments were: two keyboardists, a trumpet, a clarinet, a saxophone, a flute, an electric bass, drums, and a lot of vocalists. All the woodwinds and brass instruments were covered by one guy, and a lot more additional instrumentation was covered by the keyboardist. Their instrumentation in the play seemed mediocre initially, but after listening to how they were able to cooperate with one another, to create harmonies sounding so consonant was incredibly interesting, especially with vocalists thrown in. The voices mixing with the instruments and vice versa made it sound almost angelical . The harmonies created were also very southern gospel sounding in certain points in the musical. The frequency of long distance swims in the polar bear population is increasing, beginning in late spring as the sea ice starts melting, when the bears migrate from the sea ice to land or offshore pack ice (Pilfold et. al. 2017). Warmer temperatures are causing ice to become much thinner and more mobile. Instead of walking on a consolidated sea ice surface, polar bears may be forced to undertake long distance swims to complete their migratory route (Pilfold et. al. :190, 2017). Since polar bears are not pack animals, the effects of climate change on migratory behavior can vary greatly between individual, and, therefore, this study compares male and female adults and male and female subadults. Subadults of both sexes swam as much as an adult female did, but adult females with cubs were less likely to swim than the other age classes (Pilfold et. al. 2017). The swims are also made in correlation to the ice; there is a positive relation in the distance of the ice from land and the rate in which it retreated with the frequency of swims. Most swims were made before the ice had reached its minimum, and when it expands again, the bears track its movement toward the continental shelf (Pilfold et. al. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Moxon Browne goes on to cover Whyte s interpretations and understanding of the topic. Controversy swarms this topic because many believe partition to be an inherently evil British concept, along with it being one of the main causes for an escalated North Ireland conflict. John Whyte covered this topic using the Organizational Process method. When Britain decided to return Ireland to a state of Home Rule, the Ulster unionist backlash was huge. Faced with a crisis, Ireland s officials were slow to act. Britain stepped in to try to hastily resolve the conflict. British parliament proceeded to view the conflict along pre established nationality lines of Catholic nationalists and Protestant unionists. Parliament ignored the fact that many Protestant unionists were not organized or firm on their position against Home Rule. Britain did not understand that Protestant unionists were able to be coerced or appeased without partition. Britain also chose to partition because it was one of the first solutions presented, one that they were quick to use in foreign affairs. They failed to realize that countries like India and Palestine were thrown into decades of turmoil because Britain or Britain s allies chose to partition the countries. Partition was also one of the resource efficient ways of calming down the Irish. After entering WWI, British attention was not fully focused on the North Ireland conflict. This form of homeschooling has increased over the past few years, but it is not new. According to Robert Houston Jr and Eugenia Toma(2003), homeschooling has been around since the 17th and 18th centuries. This lead to a powerful reaction from interracial couples and families who took the rejection of the ad personally. In turn, they posted their own photos of their families to protest the racism and supposed white discrimination that many complained of. This was a very important event because it brought the topic of interracial couples into the spotlight of the media and it was clear that there was a very steady divide between those who accepted and disapproved.
