Divorce Mediation And A Divorce Mediator
Keywords: Divorce mediator Broadrun VA, Divorce Mediation lawyer in Virginia, Business Disputes
in Virginia, Business Litigation in Broadrun VA
The Role of a Divorce Mediator in Broadrun, VA
Although a judge and a divorce mediator in Broadrun, Virginia both have the ability to finalize a
divorce case, the way they do so is quite different. The role of a divorce mediator in Broadrun,
Virginia is more of a helping one. In contrast, the role of a judge is that of a decision maker. In most
instances, the parties are more satisfied with the results of their cases when they use a divorce
mediator, primarily because they are able to have a direct role in the negotiation of a settlement
agreement.
A divorce mediator assists the parties in a divorce case with creating a settlement agreement. To do so,
the divorce mediator will first meet with the parties to discuss their positions in the dispute. The
divorce mediator will next attempt to help the parties find common ground in their positions. Once the
parties have reached agreement on an issue, the mediator will make note of the agreement and move
on to the next contested issue. Issue by issue, the divorce mediator will discuss the case with the
parties and help them settle as many issues as possible.
Whereas a judge will make a decision for the parties, the mediator helps them make their own
decisions. In fact, a mediator has no decision making power during mediation. The fate of the case is
entirely in the hands of the parties.

Comparing Hamlet And The Godfather
Hamlet Essay Hamlet a play written by William Shakespeare is solely revolved around the seeking
justice. Hamlet is a tragic play, which involves the Prince of Denmark (Hamlet) seeking revenge for
his father s death. Hamlet was published in the early sixteen hundred s, and after that there has been a
lot of storylines of movies, books, and TV shows that are derived from the play. One of the most
similar pieces of work to Hamlet is The Godfather the movie directed by Francis Ford Coppola in
1972. The Godfather is a prominent crime film about a war hero of World War 2 named Michael
Corleone, who openly volunteered to take control of his father s (Vito Corleone) mafia business, after
the death of his father and his older brother (Sonny ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In a meeting with Vito, Sollozzo says, Don Corleone, I need a man who has powerful friends. I need a
million dollars in cash. I need, Don Corleone those politicians you carry in your pocket, like so many
nickels and dimes. After seeing his father condition Michael steps up and without rethinking decides
to organize a fake meeting with Sollozzo where he will kill him. After, a few minutes into their
meeting Michael Corleone excuses himself to go to the restroom and returns with a pistol and drills
two bullets right on his head. In contrast, Hamlet uses incredible amounts of procrastination to kill his
father s murderer Claudius. Topchayan also notes, also notices the flaw of the main character, and has
her own theory of the reason what Hamlet did. In her article, she shows the trouble, the impracticality,
of a person who is not a natural born killer to commit murder to seek his revenge. (281 288) Despite,
unnatural capability Hamlet still kills King Claudius by stabbing him with a poisonous sword and
gagging him with a poisonous beverage. Hamlet and Michael Corleone both became very isolated and
started being dishonest to their lovers as their plot to killing the villain evolved. Ophelia, was the lover
of Prince Hamlet, daughter of Polonius, and the sister of Laertes had a very obedient soul. In the very
beginning of the play, Hamlet becomes aware about his father s death and quickly dissolves

My Personal Values
Throughout our lifetime, us as people decide to admire different objects, ideas, and people due to what
pleases their thoughts and actions. The infinite examples of things we could ve valued could ve been
toys, friends, book, etc.. But then we began to mature and begin to come out of our little shells to
discover new products, views of the world, and new ways to advance in our technology and therefore
influencing what we value today. And as I matured in my lifetime, I established a novel value to my
parents the greatest.
My parents are currently the greatest influence on both me and my life. They ve taught me manner,
how to read, write, how to count, etc.. My parents are outstanding, both have jobs, and have gone
college. Not only that, but I express a lot of love and respect toward them for influencing my good
behaviors and actions in my lifetime. However my parents are both divorced, but that makes me want
to value both of them more than ever. But that doesn t stop me from valuing them. In fact, I have to
value both of them even more. For one, my mother is an Assistant Principal at Perez Elementary while
my father is a sheriff for Webb county. I really have to show respect for my mother because she is very
stressed out from work and me being in band, but the strictness she shows teaches me how to be a firm
person about life and how to be humble. Although my mom may be strict and stressed, my dad is a lot
more lenient, motivational, and not as stressed out. My

Democracy is a system of government in which power is vested in the people, who rule either directly
or through freely elected representatives. Jawondel is in the process of transitioning, just like the said
countries. Rule of Law and Federalism are central attributes to democracy therefore should definitely
be integrated into any democratic legal system; including the one Jawondel wishes to develop.
Jawondel is a small nation currently under an interim government until a new government is elected.
Jawondel has decided to reform its government from a dictatorship to a democracy. Jawondel s leaders
wish to adopt a model which is similar to the Australian legal system and have asked that a report be
prepared on two features that should be integrated into their new legal system. Throughout this report
Rule of Law and Federation will be defined, and it will be explained how including them in Jawondel
s legal system will advocate the rights of individuals, certainty, justice and equity. It will also explore
and disclose the benefits and limitations of the features, and give recommendations to lessen the
limitations. Both features discussed in this report achieve everything Jawondel is looking for. From
being a democratic country through to displaying the rights of individuals, equity, justice and
certainty. 1.0 Federalism and Rule of Law 1.1 Rule of Law: Rule of Law (also known as

Essay on Hanging 10 for Power Generation
Hanging 10 for Power Generation
There are many different ways to generate electricity. Wind, rivers, fire, and ocean are just a few
technologies that are in current use. In this paper it will narrow the focus to the different types of
ocean wave power generation.
Wave generated electricity is a fairly new concept. Heavy research started in the early sixties. People
have been trying to build effective wave machines for about two hundred years. Designing wave
machines can be difficult do to the nature of the ocean.
One of the primary set backs in designing wave technologies is the inconsistencies of the ocean. The

As the water level inside the chamber raises and lowers, the difference air pressure turns a low
resistance turbine, generating power. The turbine spins in one direction no matter if the air is pulling
or pushing. The collectors have been design in this manner to obtain the maximum output of power
out of the machines. Most of these wave collectors, also known as oscillating water columns are still
experimental. This device is regarded as the world most advanced wave to electricity generators. An
oscillating water column in Norway is being tested and can produce 500 kilowatts of electricity.
A Salter Duck , is another invention that has been developed to produce power from waves. This
machine is basically two large pontoons hinged together at their ends. The bobbing action of the
pontoons gives the mechanical advantage to drive the internal generator. This was the first invention
to receive wide spread use to make ocean generated power. The United States Coast Guard has been
using many of these to power generating tools for their navigation lights and audio transmitters.
Another type of energy the ocean has to offer is her tides. Generators used to harness power from
ocean tides are the cheapest to build. This is for the shear fact that most of the tide power stations are
connected to land. Due to logistics it is a lot easier to build objects closer to land than in the middle of
the ocean. These power stations can

New World History
Learning about Pocahontas in class made me very interested in the topic of Native Americans coming
over to The New World . I grew up learning that Native Americans were perfectly fine with people
coming over from England to conquer their land, as Disney casually depicts it. During my research for
the paper I watched The New World which was nothing like Disney s Pocahontas. Even though they
both were missing some key history elements. The New World was directed by Terrence Malick,
produced by Sarah Green, and the screenwriter was also Malick. The film makers were pretty accurate
with the big parts of the movie; I could imagine that these parts of the movie were changed to make

others. The important recreation of Fort James was accomplished with wood chopped out of growth in

Virginia. The city of Werowocomoco was built across the river in the Chickahominy Wildlife

The presence of acute coronary syndrome in some patients served to increase lipid output, making it
difficult to clearly determine lipid disorders in some patients. This is an issue of concern because high
lipid levels are a hallmark for the diagnosis of metabolic syndrome. Hypothesis/Research Question A
careful review of the information provided by the authors demonstrates that a definitive hypothesis or
research question is not directly stated in the investigation. Rather, at the conclusion of the

Essay On Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy
Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy
Located on the X chromosome lies a gene whose improper function would take from us what we often
sloppily overlook our mobility. The freedom to dance with poise, to run with agility, to dress one s
self, to bend over and scoop a dropped pencil off the floor are all motions which are only dreamt of by
those with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. An X linked recessive disorder which can be exhibited in
both males and females, DMD is most prominent in males, affecting 3500 boys in the world
(McKusick). DMD affects muscle skeletal, smooth, and cardiac by causing degeneration (McKusick).
Diagnosis occurs around five years old, and by age ten, a wheelchair is often necessary for the patient.

Sixty percent of patients with DMD have a dystrophin gene which holds a deletion (Bulman et al.
457). Another six to ten percent of patients have a dystrophin gene which contains a duplication of one
or more exons (Bulman et al. 457). Along with these mutations, other mapping techniques have been
used to distinguish further disruptions in the dystrophin gene which seem to cause DMD. Western
blotting techniques have been used to identify nonsense mutations on the dystrophin gene (Bulman et
al. 458). Polymerase chain sequencing has been used to find a mutation in exon 26 (Bulman et al.
458). Southern analysis revealed that another gene problem which leads to DMD is a premature chain
termination, which results in a truncated dystrophin protein (Clemens et al. 1781). These are all
mutations found in patients with DMD, which shows that there are various ways the dystrophin gene
can be affected. Each of these mutations cause a problem in that they do not function correctly when
coding for the protein dystrophin.
The malfunction of the protein dystrophin is responsible for the symptoms of DMD. If the dystrophin
gene functions correctly, the normal allele codes for the production of the protein dystrophin ( NCBI ).
This is a high molecular weight protein, and it is in .002% of the total proteins. Normally, the
dystrophin protein functions inside muscle cells, providing structural support. It anchors parts of the

Medieval Themes Reflected in Modern Literature and Movies...
The common themes often presented in tales of the Medieval times still make appearances in the films
and literature that are popular among our society today. The book The Kindness of Strangers, written
by Katrina Kittle, and the movie King Kong, directed by Peter Jackson, are two examples that portray
many known characteristics of the times of King Arthur, such as honor, chivalry, loyalty, and bravery.
The legend of King Arthur revolves around the Knights Code of Chivalry. Although there was not an
official Code of Chivalry, there were a multitude of well known ideals that all knights were to

Examples Of Love In Romeo And Juliet
Was it Really Love?
Young love is a flame; very pretty, often very hot and fierce, but still only light and flickering. The
love of the older and disciplined heart is as coals, deep burning, unquenchable. (Henry Ward Beecher)
Just like in Romeo and Juliet, there are many young people who do not know the meaning of true
love. Teenagers can fall in love, it just isn t very likely that it will last. There are many ways that
Romeo and Juliet is not the the most durable and lasting love story ever. A few reasons being that the
two showed infatuation, not love, they were too impulsive, and never had really been in a relationship
before meeting each other.
To begin, people all around the world believe that what Romeo and Juliet had was true love. What
they do not know is that what the couple shared was actually closer to infatuation: an intense but short
lived passion or admiration for someone or something. This was definitely shown between the two
quite often throughout the play and the movie. For example God join d my heart and Romeo s, thou
our hands; (Romeo and Juliet. 4.1.3) During this scene in the play, Juliet is saying that she loves
Romeo so much that she was willing to sacrifice herself for him because of such a strong infatuation
towards him. Also, in the movie, Juliet puts a gun to her head because she would rather die than be
without Romeo. That does not sound like love, those are the actions of someone who doesn t know the
first thing about it. If the two

all the soft things in his house so he could land on them, but the Parrot still enraged told his family
otherwise. All the hard things were brought out and the tortoise landed on them, which is the reason

How Charles Dickens Life Influenced Oliver Twist
The range of his creative activity is, in the first place, limited to the world of his youth (Cecil 169).
This quote explains many people. What has previously happened to a person has a tremendous impact
on them. It can affect their decisions, emotions, and life. The life of a person can sometimes be seen
quite easily through what they do. Artists often reveal what their life has been like through the works
that they create. The same can be said about writers. Events in authors past often show up in his
works. The above quote is, in fact, made in regard to Charles Dickens.

he could manage to find. He got a job as a lawyer s apprentice, and then he worked as a parliamentary

the editor of a magazine and an author of his own novels.
Throughout Dickens journey through life, the poor laws of Great Britain were closely intertwined. The
first major impact that his childhood experiences had on him was his exposure to the factory system.
The Industrial Revolution created large urban areas with a central factory that employed most of the
area s people. The factory was full of lower class people in unsanitary conditions. In the days of
Dickens factory experience the old poor laws were in effect. This helped Dickens situation greatly. His
father lived in a fairly nice and sanitary prison, and was given time to find the money he owed. The
old poor law system of giving aid to the poor helped to save the Dickens family. When Dickens grew
up and was a parliamentary reporter, the new poor laws were about to be passed. Dickens realized that
the new poor laws would bring doom to many families. The new poor laws did not help the poor but
worsened their condition in order to drive them to work.

that the developers could take up for theme parks. Park administration was dependent on the
government for utilities such as power, gas and water. A typical period required for arranging
government approval for a theme park could be as high as two to five years, depending on the country.
Product differentiation
Are there any proprietary product differences in the industry?
Yes,because the theme park industry had three classes of inputs: the building and construction services
that provided landscaping and architectural support; the hardware providers that supplied amusement
machinery; and the software providers that supplied management know how.
Are there any established brand identities?
Yes, because the park manager should work with tour operators and government tourist promotion
boards to draw the tourist crowds to their parks. Theme parks spent about 10 per cent of their annual
revenues for advertising. Radio, newspaper, yellow page (telephone book) advertisements, family and

Do customers incur any significant costs in switching suppliers?

How Does Sean Penn Use Film Techniques In Into The Wild
Thoreau once said Not until we are lost do we begin to understand ourselves following this Chris
Mccandless adventures off into the wild on a journey to discover himself without being surrounded by
a materialistic society or his family. Sean Penn delicately crafted cinematography in the film into the
wild makes use of .... to show the challenges of family relationships, the power of words and self
discovery. This is shown through the use of many different filming techniques to emphasise a certain
theme.
The director uses voice overs and cinematography perceptively to emphasise the challenges of family
relationships. In the film before Chris and his sister Carnie go to the lunch with his parents he reads
her a poem She s the wrong woman, he s the wrong man. You are going to do bad things to children,

In the film there are many examples of where Penn has shown the power of words but one of the main
examples shown throughout the movie is when his younger sister Carnie does voice overs in the film.
One of the main examples of this is when she said this Chris measured himself and those around him
by a fiercely rigorous moral code. He risked what could have been a relentless lonely path but found
comfort in the character of book he loved... he could summon their words to suit any occasion, and he
would often. This displays that Chris can strongly relate to many of his favourite authors, who have
been able to capture Chris s emotions, thought and feelings in their words. An establishing shot that
also symbolises the power of words, would be when the shot of Chris is just walked into the wild of
Alaska in the opening scene. This establishing shot creates the idea of loneliness, isolation and shows
the purity in nature as he walks into the wildness. These show us how our words can impact others in
both a negative and positive

Analysis Of Canada s Aging Population
Canada is experiencing a rapid growth in aging population and it is not going to slow down anytime
soon. In 1851 there were about 65, 000 seniors in Canada and the number in 2014 is 5.57 million.[1]
In 2036 the elders will be over ten million and by 2051 one in every four Canadians will be a senior
[2].
Many believe that the aging population is a big crisis. Aging population does put pressure on the
government limiting financial resources particularly in the healthcare system. Half of the healthcare
system is used by seniors and it is expected to grow. (In text citation) Another economic impact is the
rise in taxes. If the retirement age doesn t change the people are exceeding the life expectancy and

Final Draft The War between the two major drug cartels in Mexico, Los Zetas and the Sinaloa Drug
Cartel, has exploded to new extremes and is now affecting multiple countries. There are multiple
cartels in Mexico who control certain sections of the country, but all have aligned with one or the
other of the two Goliaths. This war started over the drug routes stemming from southern Mexico to the
United States of America. The Sinaloa Cartel has controlled these routes for many decades; however,

as Los Zetas, and are currently in war with both the Sinaloa Cartel and the Mexican government.
United States of America has no reason to get involved in a war that does not concern this country.
The bottom line is that the Mexican Drug Cartel war doesn t concern the U.S. because it is not this
country s problem. The United States of America is the main consumer of the drugs being trafficked
by these to two Cartels, which makes it OUR problem, and yet no real action has been taken to stop

Essay on A Short History of the Basque Country
A Short History of the Basque Country
Archaeological and ethnographic findings indicate that Basque [people] evolved from Cro Magnon
[...] in this area over a period dating from about 40,000 years ago until distinct features were acquired
approximately 7,000 years ago. Two thousand years later the sheep, not native to these lands, was
introduced and horse and cattle farming came into being, as shown by Adolf Staffe. These
circumstances made it necessary for the people to travel periodically and cultural contacts were thus
made. This period in the history of the Basque people can only make sense if it is studied in

P. Villasante says that the Basques, in calling themselves Euskaldunak (those who speak Basque
[Euskera]) and the country Euskalerria , i.e. Basque speaking country, are making cultural history in
that it is the language that has moulded and given the Basque people a sense of unity, a sense of being
a nation. Antonio Tovar comfirms this and explains the situation by saying that the Basques did not
take part in the battles between Carthaginians and Romans; Silius Italicus refers to the fact that there
were Basque soldiers in Hannibal s armies. The Basque only intervened to defend Sertorius, the
Roman general who had shown respect for them. The relationship between Romans and Basques was
cordial: Pompey founded Pompaelo, Pamplona, in the settlement that was Iruna (the city in Basque).
Roman influence further north was less evident, however. This meant that the Basque language
survived in its entirety, with its multiple influences.
In the third and fifth centuries the Basques defended themselves against the Barbarians who came
south to the Iberian Peninsula. After fighting the Germanic Swabian tribes, they went into battle
against the Visigoths. The latter gained several victories over the Basques and founded Victoriacum in
the year 581 in the proximity of present day Victoria, which was in turn founded by Sancho the Wise

The World Of The Middle East
Pilgrimage is no more! For hundreds, even thousands of years, pilgrims across the Middle East have
been undertaking immensely costly and onerous journeys to reach holy sites, such as: Mecca, Medina,
Damascus, among many others. Although, their reasons for the visit varied, they all shared a common
underlying importance to please God. This great tradition, which brought millions of Muslims
spiritual elevation and honor by obeying Allah, does not exist anymore. Colonialism and modernity
have taken their tolls on Islam, which left very little of its purest form untainted. The industrial
capitalist agenda of the west sped up technological advancement, which subsequently warped the
world into a smaller, more easily accessible place. No longer did a pilgrim must rely solely on his own
feet, or that of a camel s. While the Middle East became a smaller place, new ethnic, religious, and
geographic borders were raised that, ever so rapidly generate logistical, religious, as well as, ethical
issues which Islam must continually contend with. So, has true pilgrimage really been destroyed and
simply replaced with a purely commercialized shell? Despite some of the arising negative aspects and
challenges, I argue that spiritual pilgrimage persists to this day; it has merely adapted to the world s
increasing volatility. Before attempting to presenting the basis for my argument, it is important to
loosely lay out what a pilgrimage to a holy site such as Mecca means and what it entails.

The Role and Significance of the Monastic Life in Medieval...
The Role and Significance of the Monastic Life in Medieval Christianity
What is monasticism?
The central and original role of the monastic life can be drawn from the meanings of the words monk
and hermit . the word monk comes from the Greek word monaches which means solitary and hermit
from heremites a desert dweller. The early monks and nuns were just that: men and women who fled
the worldliness of urban life and the ethos of a church that was at the time of Anthony and St. Paul and
established institution of the Roman Empire. They fled to the desert to repent and seek God by prayer,
fasting and hard manual labour. In the desert they practiced an aesthetical lifestyle of great poverty ...

Therefore to begin with in order to set the monastic life in context I am briefly going to look at society
in the medieval Christianity civilisation.
For many centuries in the medieval west the rule for monks composed by Saint Benedict provided the
standard pattern of monastic observance.
What was the Benedictine rule?
Richly endowed, and sometimes exploited by lay rulers, the great Benedictine abbeys came to hold a
prominent place in the social landscape of Europe as landowning corporations, ecclesiastical patrons
and centres of learning.
we must wrote Benedict in his preface create a scola for the Lord s Service. in the language of the
sixth century the word scola had a military as well as academic sense; it meant a special regiment of
corps d elite.
(Lawrence: :28)
The Benedictine monastery was not a place of quiet retreat or leisure, neither was it a school in the
academic sense; it was a kind of unit in which the recruit was trained and equipped for his spiritual
warfare under an experienced commander the abbot.
The central objective of the Benedictine monasteries was the conquest of spirituality and self will that
made a man receptive to God. In order to achieve this the rule prescribed careful ordered routine of
prayer, works and study which filled the day, varying only according to the liturgical year and

Any grocery store you walk into you can see a wide variety of colors, but the sad fact is most of which

The Characteristics And Features Of Mutual Funds
1.1 General Introduction
The term investment refers to the commitment of funds made with an expectation of some positive
returns. Two essentials aspects of investment are that firstly it involves waiting for returns, and
secondly it involves an element of risk of not getting what is expected of the investment. Basically
investment means purchase of financial asset that yield a return, which is proportionate to risk
assumed over some future period of time.
In finance, investment means buying securities or other monetary or paper (financial) assets in the
money markets or capital markets, or other in fairly liquid real assets, such as good as an investment,
real estate or collectibles with a view to earn some gain over a period of time.

Emotional Intelligence And The Nurse Essay
Nurses are said to do the unthinkable and touch the untouchable (Canfield, Hansen, Mitchell Autio,
Thieman, 2001). Why nurses can seem to do this remains a mystery yet investigated in peer reviewed
literature. Professional nurses hold values to a high standard while performing their tasks. This is done
by individuals who are astute in the language that may not always be expressed with words, the
language of emotion. It is the nurse holding the hand of the troubled and simply listening to their need
that places them in field that is spiritually unique (O Brien, 2014). The nurse offers the capacity to
identify another s emotions and encouraging the person, all the while continuing to manage the feeling
and interactions with another (Beauvais, 2012). This ability is known as emotional intelligence and
offers the nurse a capacity to assume successful leadership positions. Emotionally intelligent skill
building for leadership is now a required competency and encompasses spiritually rich aspects of both
nursing and leadership. This paper will discuss useful aspects of emotional intelligence in spiritually
rich nursing leadership.
Emotional Intelligence There are many definitions of emotional intelligence. Daniel Goleman
discussed this theory in his 1995 book titled, Emotional Intelligence. From the ideas of Mr. Goleman,
nurses may find a more useful definition for this profession than from the previous notions of Salovey
Mayer (1990) who simplified emotional

Seamus Heaney Blackberry-Picking Essay
Seamus Heaney s poem Blackberry Picking , conveys not only a literal description of picking
blackberries, but it also has a deeper meaning of the whole experience and that is death. Heaney uses
simile, imagery, and tone to reveal the deeper understanding, which is death, to the poem.
As Heaney mentions his hands being dirty and sticky from picking out many blackberries, he uses
simile to compare his sticky hands to Bluebeard s. Our palms sticky hands as Bluebeard s . Bluebeard
is a character (fictional) who murdered his wives, how can Heaney compare his sticky palms with a

To conclusion, Heaney reveals death in this poem by using simile, imagery, and tone. the berries
represent death as they go through the cycle of being fresh to being rotten. First, Heaney represents
death by comparing his hands to a character, Bluebeard, for ripping out the berries from the bushes

the fruit changed by rotting. Lastly, he uses tone by revealing how disappointed he was of seeing the
fresh sweet berries turn into old sour berries that were no longer fresh. Although he has hope, he finds

Stereotypes, Prejudice, And Prejudice
In recent discussions of American Born Chinese, a controversial issue has been whether
Yang represents the stereotype successfully on his book or not. On the one hand, some argue that he
go a little off from his main point from his book. From this perspective, many people found the book
that it is not good enough to read. On the other hand, however, others insist that Yang did a great job
on representing stereotypes, which makes his book very powerful and interesting to read. In the words
of one of this view s proponents, I had heard about stereotypes, but never really fully understood
them. This book has taught me to at least get a little grasp on the pain and hurt that stereotypes can
really cause. (Printz p.g 11). According to this view, many people really got the meaning of
stereotypes by reading American Born Chines. In sum, then, the issue is whether Yang represents the
stereotypes well enough in his book or not. My own view is that Yang successfully stated stereotypes
in his book that made it a powerful book. After, all, I have chosen to identify as a college student at

Some of the greatest successes I have experienced during my school year were being in Honor

had gotten good grades , but because I was keeping my dad the promise I made him . I still mark this
as the greatest success in my life. The second greatest achievement was being part of Honor Society.

Lincoln s view on Slavery and How it Evolved Essay
Lincoln s View on Slavery....And How It Evolved Abraham Lincoln spent most of his political career
as a member of the Whig party endorsing policies that aided economic development, supported free
soil and opposed the expansion of slavery. Lincoln was instrumental in creating the voice of the
Republican Party and during that process his own views on slavery were shaped. He played the middle
ground and therefore appealed to both former conservative northern Whigs, and radical Republicans.
The Civil War proved to be a turning point in Lincoln s view of slavery and the extent he would go to
abolish it. The Whig Party lost their political strength when the issue of slavery in the newly acquired
territories from Mexico split the party. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lincoln sought to balance the party s belief that slavery was morally wrong and oppose the expansion
of it with a promise to protect it in states where it already existed. Lincoln did not advocate political or
social equality for blacks but rather their inalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
He carefully detailed his views on the limits to racial equality of black and white people. Lincoln
knew that the majority of northern voters, while not believing in slavery, considered blacks inferior
and wanted nothing to do with them. The North s strong moral opposition to slavery was due to the
influence of the Second Great Awakening which introduced the idea that slavery was a sin. This
message became accepted in the North because their economy did not rely heavily on slave labor. The
South never accepted the belief that slavery was a sin, it was too threatening to their way of life. The
differences in the economies of the North and South greatly influenced their views on slavery. On
October 13, 1858 during their sixth and seventh Lincoln Douglas debates Lincoln states that the main
difference in the views of the two parties was that Republicans believed slavery was morally, socially,
and politically wrong and Democrats believed it not to be. Lincoln stated that these ideas had stood

People have been beaten down, spat upon, imprisoned, enslaved, and even killed for their beliefs, race,
ethnicity, gender, and other characteristics throughout history. Throughout much of American history,
African Americans have been the victims of countless injustices and have been thought of as less than
human by society. Many people opposed society s view of African Americans and stood up for their
rights. Those who stood up for the rights of slaves and African Americans tried their best to persuade
the public that their treatment of these people was cruel and an injustice to humanity. This is evident in
the speech The Hypocrisy of American Slavery by Fredrick Douglass in the years leading up to the
civil war, and the speech We Shall ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By doing this, president Johnson earns credibility with all people who are listening to his speech. Also
by using this quote, he persuades his audience that he knows what he is talking about by saying that
the destiny of America and equal rights for all are connected. Both speakers use ethos to give their
arguments validity and persuade their audience that injustices against slaves and African Americans
should be stopped and they should be treated equally. In addition to ethos, Fredrick Douglass and
Lyndon B. Johnson appeal to their audience s emotions to persuade them of their points using pathos.
Pathos is a persuasive technique in which a speaker uses language that appeals to their audience s
emotions to prove a point. In The Hypocrisy of American Slavery , Fredrick Douglass says, Standing
with God and the crushed and bleeding slave on this occasion, I will, in the name of humanity which
is outraged, in the name of liberty which is fettered, in the name of the constitution and the Bible,
which are disregarded and trampled upon, dare to call in question and to denounce, with all the
emphasis I can command, everything that serves to perpetuate slavery the great sin and shame of
America! . In this quote, the speaker uses a myriad of charged words to denounce American slavery
with great emphasis. The charged words and imagery that Douglass uses creates horrid images in the
audience s head and would appeal to

Why Do College Students Transfer To California State...
A majority of San Jose City College students will come to a point in their education where they will
get the chance to transfer to another school. Transferring to a four year college or university will help
a student further their education. There are many options and decisions that students are confronted
with. For example, students will have to choose which school will benefit them academically, how far
they will want to move, which level of education they are aiming for, what people they will want to
surround themselves with, and more. There are 23 California State University campuses; Monterey
Bay is one of the locations in the northern part of California. They serve, like all universities, to
enhance the intelligence of a student. There are many reasons why San Jose City College students
should consider transferring to California State University Monterey Bay when they come to this point
in their life. One statistic that students should be aware of when they consider going to California
State University Monterey Bay is the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Catalyst Center is a resource center for students participating in realms of co curricular service,
including; community engagement, civic engagement, volunteering, and philanthropy. The Catalyst
Center allows students to have an impact on the surrounding community of the school. Csumb.edu
states, Through service, students make a difference in the community, enhance their personal and
social awareness, gain new learning perspectives, meet new people, and develop transferable skills.
This should encourage students to come to this school, because it allows them to impact the
community in which they are learning. Transfer students should have some kind of standard in which
they want their school to meet up to; if this standard is not met, they have the power and support to

Analysis of the Opening Sequences of Three James Bond Films
Analysis of the Opening Sequences of Three James Bond Films
Analyse the opening sequences of three James Bond films and explain why they are constructed in
this way.
James Bond has been running for forty years and has released twenty movies. My essay will analyse
the following three James Bond movies:
· Dr No (Starring Sean Connery, first Bond movie made)
· A view to kill (Roger Moore)
· Golden Eye (Pierce Brosnan)
For each of these movies I will analyse the opening scenes and explain why they are constructed in the
manner that they are.
In each of the three movies a different actor plays the Character of James Bond. In the first move (Dr
No) James Bond is played by Sean ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He while gambling receives an urgent phone call (the conversation is not heard, this adds to the
movies suspense). The phone call as well as the camera shots emphasise his importance in the film.
The clothes worn by James Bond (a tuxedo) are very glamorous and sophisticated. They also
emphasise that he is important.
A view to kill, the second James Bond movie to be analysed in this essay, has the same gun shot scene
at the start, but the action in the movie is much better. This is probably due to the date of release
(1985). Dr No was released in 1962. The difference is probably due to more advanced technology
being available.
A view to Kill focuses more on girls and action. The camera angles used in this movie also make the
movie more exciting.
The first scene in this film shows James Bond (Roger Moore) skiing in the Arctic looking for a
microchip. He is dressed in white this may be a disguise to camouflage him (the snow he is skiing on
is white) from the villains who are dressed in green. The shots in this screen are close up shots and
extreme long shots. The extreme long shots emphasis the depth of the scene and also hide the stunt
mans face from the audience. The close up shots are used to show discoveries made by James Bond
i.e. the micro chip.
The second scene in the opening

Napoleon s Control Over Europe s Territory
Napoleon s Control Over Europe s Territory
Napoleon Bonaparte will remain in the heart of many French nationals as one of the greatest military
leaders that the nation has had when it comes to warfare history. In 1799, Napoleon launched a series
of wars, which historians call, Napoleonic Wars in a bid to extend the territory of France in Europe.
Many historians argue that the Napoleonic Wars were a continuation of the French Revolution in
1789. The revolution brought with it many changes, especially in the production of modern mass
weapons. Napoleon s success came from his ideas of freeing Europe, massive army and leadership
abilities.
Napoleon, Corsican aristocrat, who was a minor, rose to the position of emperor in France because ...

These two battles indicated the strategic nature of Napoleon, as well as the supremacy of the French
military in Europe. They were the turning point of his quest to dominate Europe and increase French
territory. Napoleon s success was because of several factors from his military wit to the incompetent
nature of his enemies in Europe.
When Napoleon rose to the position of an emperor, he became the head of a huge army battalion set
up by his previous predecessor. The French army was a conglomeration of loyal citizens who were
aware of the cause for their engagement in warfare. They were doing the fighting out of free will and
did not act as mercenaries as was the case in the larger parts of Europe. Napoleon impressed on them
that they were fighting to protect the gains of their industrial revolution, which was under threat from
the outside enemies, and it was a matter of patriotism rather than advancing the ideals of Napoleon as
an individual. Napoleon used his wits to create the revolution ardor among those in the military.
According to those in the army, the only way to express the ardor was to engage in battles making
Napoleon succeed in his quest to gain more territories in Europe (Gershoy 67). It was a vital reason
for the success of Napoleon, as many of his enemies did not fight to annihilate success

The Orange County School System
In 1945, a California LULAC Council victoriously sued to merge the Orange County School System,
which had been isolated in light of the fact that Mexican youngsters were inadequately dressed and
mentally sub par compared to white kids (Takaki, 378). In 1954, LULAC brought another historical
case, Hernandez versus the State of Texas, to challenge the fact that a Mexican American had never
been called to jury duty in Texas (Class Lecture, 11/30). The Supreme Court administered this as
illegal. In the twentieth century, starting with the 1952 Hernandez v. Texas suit, the case started to turn
gradually and unyieldingly ( A Class Apart ). That case prompted the first case contended in the
United States Supreme Court by Mexican American lawyers. ... Show more content on

Another instance of minority upheaval is what has now ended up known as the Longoria Affair
(Takaki, 388). This was a critical minute in the early phases of the post World War II social equality
development in the United States. Mrs. Longoria reached out to Dr. Hector Perez Garcia, the author of
the American GI Forum. On January 11, 1949, Garcia assembled a conference of the Corpus Christi
Forum; he additionally sent numerous telegrams and letters to Texas congressmen (Class Lecture
11/9). The national and global press grabbed the story and even affected U.S. Mexican relations. The
Felix Longoria issue turned into an early sample of a binding together occasion in the Mexican
American social liberties development (Takaki, 381). The intercession of Dr. Hector García and the
American GI Forum in the matter prompted an expanded enthusiasm around the nation in opening
nearby sections of the association (Class Lecture, 11/9). Among Mexican Americans and Hispanics
the nation over, the episode turned into an encouraging point and an enlisting instrument for the GI
Forum that soon had sections over the US. While Brown v. Board of Education is a broadly known
point of interest Supreme Court case, few can follow its inceptions to the instance of nine year old
Sylvia Mendez in Mendez v. Westminster (Takaki, 389). Sylvia s case, which was chosen in the
government courts in California, went before Brown by around eight years. Thurgood Marshall spoke
to Sylvia Mendez and Linda Brown

Space Exploration
English 099

Space Exploration!
Humans have dreamed of leaving the earth and traveling space for many years, and up to this day they
have taken many steps in the right direction. Yet, with every new frontier they approach, new
problems loom over the horizon. Some of these problems arise right here on Earth. Some of the issues
have been resolved, such as escaping the forces of gravity to reach outer space. Most of the problems
are far more arduous and the solutions need more time to be worked out properly. In The Coming
Schism by James E. and Alcestis R. Oberg, they posit that humans can colonize space. Humans need
to buckle up and build the technology which will help to solve problems that would arise to ... Show

This convinces the reader that cultural conflict if not solved would become a problem for space
colonization.
The Obergs use comparative strategy to persuade reader that humans should not reject space
exploration. Past experience when compared with the present situation helps readers in picturing what
will happen if the history is repeated. The Obergs states that We have the maps of the mind, and we
have the spaceship and the spacefarers, and for the moment we have the will. We can not turn our back
on space as china once turned its
back to the sea (Oberg and Oberg 3). The Obergs uses China as most of the people have read the
history of China. This comparison also works for those people who don t know the history of China as
they have to study the history to understand what the Obergs wants to convey. In present time China is
the most important country, so their past is always of interest for the readers. Just the way China had
turned its back quite literally on the sea and had experienced a rapid decline due to isolation. In the
same ways if humans reject space exploration and isolate them selves from the space they would be in
danger their own species. Therefore the Obergs compares China s history to measure the future and
persuade the reader that humans should not reject space exploration and start colonizing space.
In the end, there are a myriad of problems that face space exploration. Some of them are small

  • 2. Divorce Mediation And A Divorce Mediator Keywords: Divorce mediator Broadrun VA, Divorce Mediation lawyer in Virginia, Business Disputes in Virginia, Business Litigation in Broadrun VA The Role of a Divorce Mediator in Broadrun, VA Although a judge and a divorce mediator in Broadrun, Virginia both have the ability to finalize a divorce case, the way they do so is quite different. The role of a divorce mediator in Broadrun, Virginia is more of a helping one. In contrast, the role of a judge is that of a decision maker. In most instances, the parties are more satisfied with the results of their cases when they use a divorce mediator, primarily because they are able to have a direct role in the negotiation of a settlement agreement. A divorce mediator assists the parties in a divorce case with creating a settlement agreement. To do so, the divorce mediator will first meet with the parties to discuss their positions in the dispute. The divorce mediator will next attempt to help the parties find common ground in their positions. Once the parties have reached agreement on an issue, the mediator will make note of the agreement and move on to the next contested issue. Issue by issue, the divorce mediator will discuss the case with the parties and help them settle as many issues as possible. Whereas a judge will make a decision for the parties, the mediator helps them make their own decisions. In fact, a mediator has no decision making power during mediation. The fate of the case is entirely in the hands of the parties. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

After, a few minutes into their meeting Michael Corleone excuses himself to go to the restroom and returns with a pistol and drills two bullets right on his head. In contrast, Hamlet uses incredible amounts of procrastination to kill his father s murderer Claudius. Topchayan also notes, also notices the flaw of the main character, and has her own theory of the reason what Hamlet did. In her article, she shows the trouble, the impracticality, of a person who is not a natural born killer to commit murder to seek his revenge. Wind, rivers, fire, and ocean are just a few technologies that are in current use. In this paper it will narrow the focus to the different types of ocean wave power generation. Wave generated electricity is a fairly new concept. Heavy research started in the early sixties. People have been trying to build effective wave machines for about two hundred years. Designing wave machines can be difficult do to the nature of the ocean. One of the primary set backs in designing wave technologies is the inconsistencies of the ocean. As the water level inside the chamber raises and lowers, the difference air pressure turns a low resistance turbine, generating power. The turbine spins in one direction no matter if the air is pulling or pushing. The collectors have been design in this manner to obtain the maximum output of power out of the machines. Most of these wave collectors, also known as oscillating water columns are still experimental. This device is regarded as the world most advanced wave to electricity generators. An oscillating water column in Norway is being tested and can produce 500 kilowatts of electricity. A Salter Duck , is another invention that has been developed to produce power from waves. This machine is basically two large pontoons hinged together at their ends. The bobbing action of the pontoons gives the mechanical advantage to drive the internal generator. This was the first invention to receive wide spread use to make ocean generated power. The United States Coast Guard has been using many of these to power generating tools for their navigation lights and audio transmitters. Another type of energy the ocean has to offer is her tides. Generators used to harness power from ocean tides are the cheapest to build. This is for the shear fact that most of the tide power stations are connected to land. Due to logistics it is a lot easier to build objects closer to land than in the middle of the ocean. These power stations can ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Another six to ten percent of patients have a dystrophin gene which contains a duplication of one or more exons (Bulman et al. 457). Along with these mutations, other mapping techniques have been used to distinguish further disruptions in the dystrophin gene which seem to cause DMD. Western blotting techniques have been used to identify nonsense mutations on the dystrophin gene (Bulman et al. 458). Polymerase chain sequencing has been used to find a mutation in exon 26 (Bulman et al. 458). Southern analysis revealed that another gene problem which leads to DMD is a premature chain termination, which results in a truncated dystrophin protein (Clemens et al. 1781). These are all mutations found in patients with DMD, which shows that there are various ways the dystrophin gene can be affected. Each of these mutations cause a problem in that they do not function correctly when coding for the protein dystrophin. The malfunction of the protein dystrophin is responsible for the symptoms of DMD. If the dystrophin gene functions correctly, the normal allele codes for the production of the protein dystrophin ( NCBI ). This is a high molecular weight protein, and it is in .002% of the total proteins. Normally, the dystrophin protein functions inside muscle cells, providing structural support. There are many ways that Romeo and Juliet is not the the most durable and lasting love story ever. A few reasons being that the two showed infatuation, not love, they were too impulsive, and never had really been in a relationship before meeting each other. To begin, people all around the world believe that what Romeo and Juliet had was true love. What they do not know is that what the couple shared was actually closer to infatuation: an intense but short lived passion or admiration for someone or something. This was definitely shown between the two quite often throughout the play and the movie. For example God join d my heart and Romeo s, thou our hands; (Romeo and Juliet. 4.1.3) During this scene in the play, Juliet is saying that she loves Romeo so much that she was willing to sacrifice herself for him because of such a strong infatuation towards him. Antonio Tovar comfirms this and explains the situation by saying that the Basques did not take part in the battles between Carthaginians and Romans; Silius Italicus refers to the fact that there were Basque soldiers in Hannibal s armies. The Basque only intervened to defend Sertorius, the Roman general who had shown respect for them. • 26. The World Of The Middle East Pilgrimage is no more! For hundreds, even thousands of years, pilgrims across the Middle East have been undertaking immensely costly and onerous journeys to reach holy sites, such as: Mecca, Medina, Damascus, among many others. Although, their reasons for the visit varied, they all shared a common underlying importance to please God. This great tradition, which brought millions of Muslims spiritual elevation and honor by obeying Allah, does not exist anymore. Colonialism and modernity have taken their tolls on Islam, which left very little of its purest form untainted. The industrial capitalist agenda of the west sped up technological advancement, which subsequently warped the world into a smaller, more easily accessible place. No longer did a pilgrim must rely solely on his own feet, or that of a camel s. While the Middle East became a smaller place, new ethnic, religious, and geographic borders were raised that, ever so rapidly generate logistical, religious, as well as, ethical issues which Islam must continually contend with. So, has true pilgrimage really been destroyed and simply replaced with a purely commercialized shell? Despite some of the arising negative aspects and challenges, I argue that spiritual pilgrimage persists to this day; it has merely adapted to the world s increasing volatility. Before attempting to presenting the basis for my argument, it is important to loosely lay out what a pilgrimage to a holy site such as Mecca means and what it entails. ... Lincoln s view on Slavery and How it Evolved Essay Lincoln s View on Slavery....And How It Evolved Abraham Lincoln spent most of his political career as a member of the Whig party endorsing policies that aided economic development, supported free soil and opposed the expansion of slavery. Lincoln was instrumental in creating the voice of the Republican Party and during that process his own views on slavery were shaped. He played the middle ground and therefore appealed to both former conservative northern Whigs, and radical Republicans. The Civil War proved to be a turning point in Lincoln s view of slavery and the extent he would go to abolish it. Lincoln sought to balance the party s belief that slavery was morally wrong and oppose the expansion of it with a promise to protect it in states where it already existed. Lincoln did not advocate political or social equality for blacks but rather their inalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. He carefully detailed his views on the limits to racial equality of black and white people. Lincoln knew that the majority of northern voters, while not believing in slavery, considered blacks inferior and wanted nothing to do with them. The North s strong moral opposition to slavery was due to the influence of the Second Great Awakening which introduced the idea that slavery was a sin. This message became accepted in the North because their economy did not rely heavily on slave labor. The South never accepted the belief that slavery was a sin, it was too threatening to their way of life. The differences in the economies of the North and South greatly influenced their views on slavery. On October 13, 1858 during their sixth and seventh Lincoln Douglas debates Lincoln states that the main difference in the views of the two parties was that Republicans believed slavery was morally, socially, and politically wrong and Democrats believed it not to be. Lincoln stated that these ideas had stood face to face from the beginning of time; one was the common ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Essay about Blackberries in June Bryan Blejski ENG 101 F11 October 6, 2011 Blackberries in June In Ron Rash s Blackberries in June, it was easy to be immediately drawn into the story. People can relate to the life of Matt and Jamie. Their life of being married after high school and having a house of their own is a plan many people work to strive towards when in love after high school. Their life seems almost perfect or typical throughout the story. A wonderful and happy marriage with the wholesome relations with the other family members, and some tenseness between an in law shows how Matt and Jamie s lives are what seems to be, normal. When Charlton (Jamie s brother) has an accident and loses his leg, Matt is determined to still follow their dreams and plans ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After the accident, Jamie s mother tells her, You know you got to help them, referring to Charlton s family (Rash 246). Her mother expects Jamie and Matt to give up all their dreams and plans, including their house, to help them. But the reason Linda, Charlton, and their family have no money is because they waste it on booze, unnecessary make up, and an abundance of vehicles that are not needed. Jamie feels there is no reason to give up what she and Matt have when there is plenty of other ways for Charlton to receive help. Jamie s mother believes, That lake house, you had no right to expect such a place so young... It was a miracle you got it in the first place. You cannot expect miracles in this life, girl. Jamie will not sell her miracle and says Maybe not, Momma, But when they come a person has got the right to take them (Rash 247). Matt strongly does not put up with Jamie s family s thoughts of selling the lake house. He becomes irritated with Linda and tells her Me and Jamie do not owe you anything. Linda s reply of you owe us everything, if Charlton had not taken you on you would never have been able to make a down payment on that lake house . This only strengthens Matt s decision to follow his dreams with Jamie. It is astounding that Matt and Jamie are looked down upon because their life together is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. The Hypocrisy Of American Slavery By Fredrick Douglass People have been beaten down, spat upon, imprisoned, enslaved, and even killed for their beliefs, race, ethnicity, gender, and other characteristics throughout history. Throughout much of American history, African Americans have been the victims of countless injustices and have been thought of as less than human by society. Many people opposed society s view of African Americans and stood up for their rights. Those who stood up for the rights of slaves and African Americans tried their best to persuade the public that their treatment of these people was cruel and an injustice to humanity. This is evident in the speech The Hypocrisy of American Slavery by Fredrick Douglass in the years leading up to the civil war, and the speech We Shall ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By doing this, president Johnson earns credibility with all people who are listening to his speech. Also by using this quote, he persuades his audience that he knows what he is talking about by saying that the destiny of America and equal rights for all are connected. Both speakers use ethos to give their arguments validity and persuade their audience that injustices against slaves and African Americans should be stopped and they should be treated equally. In addition to ethos, Fredrick Douglass and Lyndon B. Johnson appeal to their audience s emotions to persuade them of their points using pathos. Pathos is a persuasive technique in which a speaker uses language that appeals to their audience s emotions to prove a point. In The Hypocrisy of American Slavery , Fredrick Douglass says, Standing with God and the crushed and bleeding slave on this occasion, I will, in the name of humanity which is outraged, in the name of liberty which is fettered, in the name of the constitution and the Bible, which are disregarded and trampled upon, dare to call in question and to denounce, with all the emphasis I can command, everything that serves to perpetuate slavery the great sin and shame of America! . In this quote, the speaker uses a myriad of charged words to denounce American slavery with great emphasis. The charged words and imagery that Douglass uses creates horrid images in the audience s head and would appeal to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Analysis of the Opening Sequences of Three James Bond Films Analysis of the Opening Sequences of Three James Bond Films Analyse the opening sequences of three James Bond films and explain why they are constructed in this way. James Bond has been running for forty years and has released twenty movies. My essay will analyse the following three James Bond movies: · Dr No (Starring Sean Connery, first Bond movie made) · A view to kill (Roger Moore) · Golden Eye (Pierce Brosnan) For each of these movies I will analyse the opening scenes and explain why they are constructed in the manner that they are. In each of the three movies a different actor plays the Character of James Bond. In the first move (Dr No) James Bond is played by Sean ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He while gambling receives an urgent phone call (the conversation is not heard, this adds to the movies suspense). The phone call as well as the camera shots emphasise his importance in the film. The clothes worn by James Bond (a tuxedo) are very glamorous and sophisticated. They also emphasise that he is important. A view to kill, the second James Bond movie to be analysed in this essay, has the same gun shot scene at the start, but the action in the movie is much better. This is probably due to the date of release (1985). Dr No was released in 1962. The difference is probably due to more advanced technology being available. A view to Kill focuses more on girls and action. The camera angles used in this movie also make the movie more exciting. The first scene in this film shows James Bond (Roger Moore) skiing in the Arctic looking for a microchip. He is dressed in white this may be a disguise to camouflage him (the snow he is skiing on is white) from the villains who are dressed in green. The shots in this screen are close up shots and extreme long shots. The extreme long shots emphasis the depth of the scene and also hide the stunt mans face from the audience. The close up shots are used to show discoveries made by James Bond i.e. the micro chip.

Napoleon s Control Over Europe s Territory Napoleon s Control Over Europe s Territory Napoleon Bonaparte will remain in the heart of many French nationals as one of the greatest military leaders that the nation has had when it comes to warfare history. In 1799, Napoleon launched a series of wars, which historians call, Napoleonic Wars in a bid to extend the territory of France in Europe. Many historians argue that the Napoleonic Wars were a continuation of the French Revolution in 1789. The revolution brought with it many changes, especially in the production of modern mass weapons. Napoleon s success came from his ideas of freeing Europe, massive army and leadership abilities. Napoleon, Corsican aristocrat, who was a minor, rose to the position of emperor in France because ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These two battles indicated the strategic nature of Napoleon, as well as the supremacy of the French military in Europe. They were the turning point of his quest to dominate Europe and increase French territory. Napoleon s success was because of several factors from his military wit to the incompetent nature of his enemies in Europe. When Napoleon rose to the position of an emperor, he became the head of a huge army battalion set up by his previous predecessor. The French army was a conglomeration of loyal citizens who were aware of the cause for their engagement in warfare. They were doing the fighting out of free will and did not act as mercenaries as was the case in the larger parts of Europe. Napoleon impressed on them that they were fighting to protect the gains of their industrial revolution, which was under threat from the outside enemies, and it was a matter of patriotism rather than advancing the ideals of Napoleon as an individual. Napoleon used his wits to create the revolution ardor among those in the military. According to those in the army, the only way to express the ardor was to engage in battles making Napoleon succeed in his quest to gain more territories in Europe (Gershoy 67). It was a vital reason for the success of Napoleon, as many of his enemies did not fight to annihilate success ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Orange County School System In 1945, a California LULAC Council victoriously sued to merge the Orange County School System, which had been isolated in light of the fact that Mexican youngsters were inadequately dressed and mentally sub par compared to white kids (Takaki, 378). In 1954, LULAC brought another historical case, Hernandez versus the State of Texas, to challenge the fact that a Mexican American had never been called to jury duty in Texas (Class Lecture, 11/30). The Supreme Court administered this as illegal. In the twentieth century, starting with the 1952 Hernandez v. Texas suit, the case started to turn gradually and unyieldingly ( A Class Apart ). That case prompted the first case contended in the United States Supreme Court by Mexican American lawyers. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another instance of minority upheaval is what has now ended up known as the Longoria Affair (Takaki, 388). This was a critical minute in the early phases of the post World War II social equality development in the United States. Mrs. Longoria reached out to Dr. Hector Perez Garcia, the author of the American GI Forum. On January 11, 1949, Garcia assembled a conference of the Corpus Christi Forum; he additionally sent numerous telegrams and letters to Texas congressmen (Class Lecture 11/9). The national and global press grabbed the story and even affected U.S. Mexican relations. The Felix Longoria issue turned into an early sample of a binding together occasion in the Mexican American social liberties development (Takaki, 381). The intercession of Dr. Hector García and the American GI Forum in the matter prompted an expanded enthusiasm around the nation in opening nearby sections of the association (Class Lecture, 11/9). Among Mexican Americans and Hispanics the nation over, the episode turned into an encouraging point and an enlisting instrument for the GI Forum that soon had sections over the US. While Brown v. Board of Education is a broadly known point of interest Supreme Court case, few can follow its inceptions to the instance of nine year old Sylvia Mendez in Mendez v. Westminster (Takaki, 389). • 47. Space Exploration English 099 December 6, 2012 Space Exploration! Humans have dreamed of leaving the earth and traveling space for many years, and up to this day they have taken many steps in the right direction. Yet, with every new frontier they approach, new problems loom over the horizon. Some of these problems arise right here on Earth. Some of the issues have been resolved, such as escaping the forces of gravity to reach outer space. Most of the problems are far more arduous and the solutions need more time to be worked out properly. In The Coming Schism by James E. and Alcestis R. Oberg, they posit that humans can colonize space. Humans need to buckle up and build the technology which will help to solve problems that would arise to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This convinces the reader that cultural conflict if not solved would become a problem for space colonization. The Obergs use comparative strategy to persuade reader that humans should not reject space exploration. Past experience when compared with the present situation helps readers in picturing what will happen if the history is repeated. The Obergs states that We have the maps of the mind, and we have the spaceship and the spacefarers, and for the moment we have the will. We can not turn our back on space as china once turned its back to the sea (Oberg and Oberg 3). The Obergs uses China as most of the people have read the history of China. This comparison also works for those people who don t know the history of China as they have to study the history to understand what the Obergs wants to convey. In present time China is the most important country, so their past is always of interest for the readers. Just the way China had turned its back quite literally on the sea and had experienced a rapid decline due to isolation. In the same ways if humans reject space exploration and isolate them selves from the space they would be in danger their own species. Therefore the Obergs compares China s history to measure the future and persuade the reader that humans should not reject space exploration and start colonizing space. In the end, there are a myriad of problems that face space exploration. Some of them are small ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
