Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus (L) Moench) or bhendi also known as ladies finger is an important vegetable crop in India, and African regions. Abelmoscus esculentus having the medicinal property of anti inflammatory , anti diabetics, anti oxidant activities . In this studies we are going to analysis the anti diabetics and anti inflammatory property of Abelmoscus esculentus by using molecular docking studies. Diabetics is a major cause of death and the number of new cases, as well as the number of individuals living with Diabetics, is expanding continuously. Now a days It is one of the most common diseases in the worldwide .Foot ulceration remains a major health problem for diabetic patients and has a major impact on the cost of diabetes treatment. One major complication of diabetes is foot ulceration, which occurs in as many as 15–25% of type 1 and type 2 diabetic patients over their lifetimes. The phytochemicals of Abelmoscus esculentus are analysed and optimized with the Arguslab to investigate the interactions between the target compounds and the amino acid residues of the Mafa and Mmp9. All the compound have shown binding pose between from – 3.25 to -7.95 and -7.95 into -11.40 out of ten compound . [E,E] Farenesal with Mafa protein and gossypol with Mmp9 protein show best ligand energy -10.55 and -8.88 Kcal/mol with 1 and 1 hydrogen bond of distance is 3.0 and 2.3 respectively .

Diabetes is a very serious, chronic, and complex metabolic disorder that is based on multiples aetiologies with both acute and chronic. There are two types of diabetes, one types 1 DM and the other is type two DM. Both T1DM and T2DM are the most serious type of chronic conditions that are typical cannot be cured. Insulin stimulates adipocytes, myocytes, and hepatocytes, which uptake glucose from the circulatory system. Antidiabetic drugs show useful effects through decreasing glucose absorption in the intestines increasing insulin levels in the body or increasing the bodys sensitivity or decreasing its resistance to insulin. Most of these plants contain bioactive compounds. Such compounds are alkaloids, flavonoids, glycosides, terpenoids, carotenoids, etc., which are frequently implicated as having an Antidiabetic effect. The different types of phytochemicals include flavonoids, saponins, phenolic acids, alkaloids, tannin, stillness, and polysaccharides. They have two types of drug design structure based drug desingand ligand based drug design. The protein is a structure based ligand, which is based on drug design for the role of significantly quantitative structure activity relationship QSAR and pharmacophore analysis. Protective Role of Vitamin E and L carnitine on Human Erythrocyte Membrane Ac...Usama Mohamed El-Barrany
Abstract
BACKGROUND: Several studies revealed that vitamin E supplementation results in an increase of AChE activity, whereas L-carnitine addition causes its partial restoration. L carnitine, a naturally occurring amino acid, is potentially effective in preventing peripheral neuropathy as well as lessening neuropathic symptoms. These actions account for the popular use of L carnitine and Vitamin E as an antiaging or memory-supportive nutrient and delaying progression of neurodegenerative diseases.
SUBJECTS AND METHODS: A comparative invitro study was performed, in which blood samples were collected from 40 healthy individuals. Erythrocyte membranes were separated from blood of the different samples, and then erythrocyte membranes from each sample were subdivided into 4 groups: group (1) is considered as a control group, group (2) incubation of erythrocyte membranes with vitamin E, group (3) incubation of erythrocyte membranes with L carnitine and group (4) incubation of erythrocyte membranes with vitamin E and L carnitine. Acetylcholine esterase was measured spectrophotometrically, and its levels were evaluated in these groups.
RESULTS: Comparison between the acetylcholine esterase levels in the control group and the other groups showed highest level of the enzyme in the (Vit. E + L carnitine) group without a statistically significant difference (p >0.05).
CONCLUSIONS: Our study showed that the best protective role for erythrocyte membrane acetylcholine esterase was achieved when both L carnitine and vitamin E were added.

Fibrogenesis is consequence of multicellular response; activation of Hepatic Stellate Cells (HSCs) and transdifferentiation into myofi broblasts are crucial for development of hepatic scar. Recent studies evidenced that liver fi brosis is potentially bidirectional regulated by complex cytokines, growth factors, genetic and epigenetic mechanisms (DNA methylation, histone modifi cations and miRNAs mediated gene silencing). Regression of liver fi brosis is due to increase in collagenolytic activity and increased Metalloproteinase (MMPs) activity with decreased expression and activity of Tissue Inhibitors of Metalloproteinases (TIMPs). Reversible epigenetic mechanisms, pro-fi brotic and anti-fi brotic miRNAs regulate progression and regression of liver fi brosis which initiates to discover diagnostic, prognostic and therapeutic should be comprehensively defi ned. Hence, in this review we made an attempt to understand molecular, genetic and epigenetic mechanisms of bidirectional liver fi brosis.

Methimazole affected spermatogenesis and enhanced proliferation of testicular...Jing Zang
The present work studied the effect of the antithyroid drug, methemazole (MMI) in testis of rat. Moreover, the effect of MMI on testicular macrophages was studied. The MMI-treated rats received diet food and 0.1% methimazole drinking water for 30 days. The results showed that MMI caused reduction in body weight of the animals. Histological examination of the testis revealed significant decrease in diameter of seminiferous tubules and inhibition of spermatogenesis. A significant increase in the number of macrophages was recorded in the testicular interstitium. The highest number of macrophages was found in close proximity to Leydig cells followed by peritubular location. The lowest number was observed in perivascular location. Macrophages are necessary to remove cellular remnant like apoptotic material or cell debris in inflammable tissue. So the increase in macrophage number recorded in this work suggests that either apoptotic or inflammable processes rise in rat testicular interstitium after exposure to methimazole.
Glucose lowering potential of hydromethanolic extract of RauwolfiaJing Zang
The objective of the present study was to evaluate the phytochemistry, acute toxicity and glucose lowering potential of hydromethanolic roots extract (HMREt) of Rauwolfia serpentina. The qualitative analysis of HMREt showed the presence of many important phyto-constituents except anthraquinones, carbohydrates and saponins whereas quantitatively it found rich in total phenols. In acute toxicity study, orally administrated HMREt from 5-250 mg/ kg was observed safe and non-sedative while its doses from 500-2500 mg/kg were found sedative and induced mortalities (17-100%) within 4 hours of administration. The median lethal dose (LD50) of same extract was calculated as 1412.54 mg / kg (log LD50 = 3.15 mg/ kg) from log doses verses probit graph. The HMREt in doses of 50, 100 and 150 mg/kg induced significant percent decrease in blood glucose level at 30, 60 and 120 minutes in normo-hyperglycemic test mice as compared to control and negative control groups (p<0.05). The results concluded that HMREt has glucose lowering potential either by developing glucose tolerance or by pancreatic action in normo-hyperglycemic mice.

Because of an overall rise in health care costs, lack of uniformity in drug prescribing and the emergence of antibiotic resistance, monitoring and control of antibiotic use are of growing concern and strict antibiotic policies should be warranted. The caution use for antimicrobial agents is very important as their unavailability or resistance can be life threatening. Irrational drug use is a common practice in developing countries. In India, clinician often prescribe three or four drugs to treat the most trivial conditions for the sake of satisfying the patients need to receive drugs or the drug sellers need for profit. Thus drug use evaluation studies are required for all drugs in general and particularly for antibiotics.

Nifedipine, a calcium channel blocker antihypertensive drug, is a poorly water soluble drug and belongs to BCS class II. The objective of the research work was to formulate and optimize solid dispersions (SDs) of a poorly water soluble drug, nifedipine, with sodium starch glycollate, croscarmellose sodium, eudragit E-100. Solid dispersions were prepared by solvent evaporation techniques in different weight ratios of polymers. The results indicated that homogeneous or heterogeneous conditions during the preparation methods employed governed the internal structures of the polymer matrices while retaining the drug in an amorphous form. The physical mixtures and solid dispersions were subjected to drug content and dissolution test. The best formulation, nifedipine with croscarmellose sodium in 1:7 ratio, among all was further adsorbed on neusilin US2 to form ternary mixture. The increased dissolution was achieved by more than 70percent and 30percent comparatively to the nifedipine API and marketed product respectively. The tablet dosage form prepared from ternary mixture was stable at stressed conditions 40±2°C and 75±5% RH. The release kinetics of drug from formulation and marketed product follows peppas model. The similar factor f2 was within limit for the product at stressed conditions with the product at room temperature at the same time.

Aframomum Melegueta Grain of paradise is a perennial herbal plant that is cultivated for its valuable medicinal and pharmacological effects. The study aims to determine the effect of aqueous seeds extract of Aframomum Melegueta on insulin concentration in alloxan induced diabetes in male wistar rats. Twenty five 25 male wistar rats weighing 150g 170g were used in this study. The animals were acclimatized for a period of two 2 weeks, after which they were randomly divided into five 5 groups of five rats each. Group A served as negative control and received feed and water ad libitum, group B served as positive control and received alloxan monohydrate, group C received 120mg of alloxan monohydrate and was treated with 150mg of aqueous seed extract of Aframomum Melegueta, Group D received 120mg of alloxan monohydrate and was treated with 300mg of aqueous seed extract of Aframomum Melegueta and Group E received 120mg of alloxan monohydrate and was treated with 600mg of aqueous seed extract of Aframomum Melegueta. The Administration of the extract last for a period of 21 days and The administration was between the period of 6 am to 8 am every day. Data for blood glucose and insulin concentration, antioxidant activity SOD and CAT were analysed using SPSS version 25 using ANOVA followed by Post Hoc LSD comparison. Values were considered significant at p 0.05. The result showed significant p 0.05 increase in the blood glucose level in groups B, C, D, E compared to group A at Day 0. At day 7, 14, 21 the result showed significant p 0.05 decrease in the treated groups compared to diabetic control group. Insulin level had a significant p 0.05 increase in treated groups compared to diabetic control group. There is significant increase in superoxide dismutase and catalase level in diabetic treated groups when compared to diabetic control group. The study concluded that the aqueous seed extract of Aframomum melegueta can be of immense use in phytomedicine especially for the management of diabetes mellitus. Mmuogbo, J. C | Maduka, S. Diabetes is a multifactorial disease leading to several complications, and therefore demands a multiple therapeutic approach. Patients of diabetes either do not make enough insulin or their cells do not respond to insulin. In case of total lack of insulin, patients are given insulin injections. Whereas in case of those where cells do not respond to insulin many different drugs are developed taking into consideration possible disturbances in carbohydrate-metabolism. For example, to manage post-prandial hyper-glycaemia at digestive level, glucosidase inhibitors such as acarbose, miglitol and voglibose are used. These inhibit degradation of carbohydrates there by reducing the glucose absorption by the cells. To enhance glucose uptake by peripheral cells biguanide such as metformin is used. Sulphonylureas, like glibenclamide, is insulinotropic and work as secretogogue for pancreatic cells. Although several therapies are in use for treatment, there are certain limitations due to high cost and side effects such as development of hypoglycemia, weight gain, gastrointestinal disturbances, liver toxicity etc. Based on recent advances and involvement of oxidative stress in complicating diabetes mellitus, efforts are on to find suitable antidiabetic and antioxidant therapy.

For a long time, several herbal medicines have been used for the treatment of diabetes in the form of compound drugs. Moreover, after the references made by researchers on diabetes mellitus, investigations on the hypoglycemic activity of compound drugs from medicinal plants have been more important. Although, the molecular mechanisms behind this effect is not much explored yet. There are various approaches to reduce the diabetes effect and its secondary complications, and herbal drugs are more preferred due to its less side effects and low cost. One of the major factors in the development of diabetes and its complications is the damage induced by free radicals. Therefore antidiabetic compounds with antioxidant properties would be more beneficial. It is hypothesized that the insulin mimetic effect, hypoglycemic effect and β-cell function of herbal remedies might add to glucose uptake through improvement in the expression of genes of the glucose transporter (GLUT) family in liver and skeletal muscles. Here we selected some plants with the ability to control blood glucose as well as to modulate some of the mechanisms involved in insulin resistance like β-cell function, glucose transport (GLUT) gene and incretin related
pathways. Therefore, plants remedies may be appealing as an alternative and adjunctive treatment for diabetes mellitus.
The fundamental treatment and management goals in diabetes mellitus are to control and normalize blood glucose levels and to prevent diabetic complications. It also includes maintaining normal growth and development and normal body weight. Proper diet, regular exercise, weight control and different therapeutic agents are the mainstays of diabetic care and management. Weight reduction and exercise have been shown to improve tissue sensitivity to insulin and allow its proper use by target tissues. It is obvious that medical management and goals of therapy for diabetes mellitus have changed since the publication of the Diabetes Control and Complications Trial in 1993. Recent studies have shown that the risk of developing retinopathy can decrease by 76% in properly managed diabetic patients when compared to control group and that clinical and laboratory signs and symptoms of nephropathy and neuropathy can also decrease by 54 to 60%. Diabetes mellitus is spreading around the world, penetrating populations not only in poor and developing countries, but also in developed ones. Propolis, a complex resinous material collected by honey bees from buds and exudates of certain plant sources, containing flavonoids pinocebrin, galangin, chrysin, and caffeic acid phenethyl ester.
The use of propolis as an alternative healing therapy for type-2 diabetes mellitus has been claimed to alleviate the disease. Previous studies state that propolis improves normal homeostasis by balancing the body’s condition through the enhancement of the immune system. The histological analysis of the liver shows that at a dose of 50–200 mg/kg BW propolis does not show a toxic effect so that the dose is categorized safe.
Therefore, the ethanolic soluble derivative of propolis (EEP) extract warrant further studies as an antidiabetic agent that is safe for humans.
Nutritive and Anti-nutritive composition of Wild grown Canavalia gladiata seedsJing Zang
The wild Canavalia gladiata seeds were widely distributed in Nupeland, North Central Nigeria. It was obtained and processed by decoating, sun drying and grinding into powder. Using petroleum ether (40-60oC), the fats was extracted, the protein content, ash content, crude fibre, moisture, carbohydrate with respective values of 3.60±0.14, 11.1±0.83, 4.25±0.11, 3.39±0.27, 5.85±0.47 and 72.3±0.08 % as well as the mineral contents were determined using standard methods. The mineral composition determined from the C. gladiata seeds shows higher values of potassium, zinc, iron and calcium 25.15±0.03, 25.89±0.27, 18.3±0.14 and 17.25±0.49 mg/100 g respectively. This seed analyzed contains low yield of anti-nutritional contents which suggested that, it could be safe for human consumption since it fell below the lethal dose limit. The sample contains reasonable amount of essential and non-essential amino acids with yield varying between 48 and 52%. The presence of unsaturated and saturated fatty acids in the C. gladiata was 96 and 4% respectively. The higher percentage of unsaturated fatty acid present makes this seed desirable for consumption by the person with heart diseases. In addition, from the data obtained this oil becomes attractive options for commercial purposes since it is suitable for the manufacture of soaps, lubricating oil, candles as well as pharmaceutical industries.

Pharmacovigilance is a clinical discipline that is gaining more and more attention worldwide and in Africa. The rolling out of large scale programs on HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria has heightened the need to step up efforts to have pharmacovigilance concepts to be operationalized in clinical practice. A quick search in PubMed and Google Scholar and a review of available literature was conducted in order to establish whether medical, nursing and pharmacy undergraduate students are taught pharmacovigilance concepts and skills for effective practice. It seems that there is a paucity of data on the undergraduate training in pharmacovigilance in South Africa. It may be that there might be inadequate training on pharmacovigilance during undergraduate training of medical, nursing and pharmacy students in South Africa. More studies are needed to document the views and experiences of South African students and healthcare professionals on training and practice of pharmacovigilance.

Sulfonamides are considered to be pharmaceutically important class of compounds. In the present work, N-(2,4-dimethylphenyl)-4-toluenesulfonamide (3) was synthesized by the reaction of 2,4-dimethylaniline (1) and 4-tosyl chloride (2; 4-methylbenzenesulfonyl chloride) using 10% aqueous Na2CO3 solution as reaction medium. At the second step, the synthesized molecule 3 was made to react with different alkyl/aralkyl halides (4a-o) to yield the target compounds, 5a-o, using N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) as reaction medium and lithium hydride as an activator. The synthesis of all the compounds was verified by spectral techniques using IR, 1H-NMR and EIMS; and further examined for their anti-enzymatic activities. The synthesized compound 5f represented a suitable inhibitory potential against α-glucosidase and lipoxygenase enzymes.
In vitro sun screening activity of Sri Lankan orthodox black tea (Camellia Si...Jing Zang
Currently, there is demand for the development of herbal sunscreen formulations to suppress harmful effects of UV rays. In this regard, this study, was conducted to investigate the sun screen potential of Sri Lankan Orthodox black tea (made from buds and top most leaves of Camellia sinensis L plant) using three grades (Dust No:1, Broken Orange Pekoe and Orange Pekoe) using UV spectroscopic technique and Mansur equation. Sun Protection Factor (SPF) value was determined using 20% aqueous extracts (Black tea brews). The results revealed that all three tea samples had markedly high absorbance values (1.4 to 4.2) at 290-320 nm range and SPF values above 15 which are considered as the threshold value for good sunscreen. The SPF value of Dust No:1, B.O.P.F and O.P were respectively 36, 23 and 22. This is a novel finding for Sri Lankan black tea. It is concluded that Sri Lankan black tea, especially, Dust No: 1 can function as an efficient sunscreen agent and has great promise to be developed as cheap, safe and effective topical botanical sunscreen acting via multiple mechanisms (considering its other reported bioactivities).
HPTLC determination of carotenoid profile in the leaf and bark samples of lor...Jing Zang
Influence of host plants on the carotenoid profile of Loranthus longiflorus leaf and bark samples collected from Casuarina equisetifolia and Ficus religiosa host trees were determined by HPTLC method. The methanol extract of L. longiflorus leaf samples obtained from C. equisetifolia host trees showed 9 compounds while it was 8 compounds in the leaf samples collected from F. religiosa host tree. Among the compounds, 5 and 3 compound in each sample, respectively, was identified as carotinoids while the others were unknown. Four compounds from each leaf samples collected from C. equisetifolia (peak no. 4- 6 & 8) and F. religiosa (peak no. 1-3 & 6) host trees showed similar Rf values (0.15, 0.19, 0.23 & 0.53, respectively). Similarly, the methanol extract of L. longiflorus bark sample collected from C. equisetifolia and F. religiosa host trees contained 8 compounds each. Of these compounds only 3 from each sample was identified as carotenoids whereas others were unknown and none of these compounds showed any similar Rf values. One compound from leaf and park samples of L. longiflorus collected from C. equisetifolia (peak no. 6 & 4) and F. religiosa (peak no. 4 & 3) showed similar Rf values (0.23 & 0.26), respectively.
Antinociceptive and Diuretic Activities of Tagetes erecta LinnJing Zang
In the present investigation, the possible antinociceptive and diuretic activities of methanolic extract of Tagetes erecta has been tested in animal models. The methanol extract of both aerial part and root of the plant exhibited significant antinociceptive activity at higher dose (400 mg/kg body weight) in Swiss albino mice. The root extract was found to reduce the writhing more effectively than that of aerial part which is comparable to that produced by aminopyrine, used as standard drug. In addition, crude whole plant extract was also showed efficient diuresis at higher dose 400 mg/kg tested. Diuretic activity was proved by the electrolyte loss ratio (Na+/K+ excretion ratio) and we used furosemide as the reference.
PREVAILENCE OF MIGRIANE IN A LOW INCOME COMMUNITY OF KARACHIJing Zang
Migraine is the most common problem affecting large population, with prevalence frequency 10-12 %. This study was conducted to evaluate the prevalence of migraine in a low income community in Karachi from June-Oct, 2013. Three hundred and seven participants were involved in this study. For this purpose cross-sectional community based questionnaire was designed in accordance with the diagnostic criteria given by International Headache Society. Data collection was carried out by personal visit to patients and through clinics. It was observed that females (65.5%) are more affected from migraine then male. 32.9% housewives reported that they are suffering from migraine. This medical problem is common among youngsters (38.1%) than old citizens. Employees working in different organizations (39.7%), were found to be mostly affected from migraine then self employed persons. Majority of the migraine patients (41%) reported that they are suffering from common symptoms including: photophobia, phonophobia, nausea, vomiting etc. Dietary habits of individuals were found to be closely associated with migraine such as use of caffeine, chocolate are prominent; and their use is common among 75% patients cumulatively. It was evaluated that certain disease conditions i.e. stress (33.6%), depression (22.1%) and anxiety (18.9%) are more common among sufferers of migraine.
ANTIDIABETIC POTENTIAL OF MEMECYLON TERMINALE DALZ EXTRACTS IN ALLOXAN INDUCE...Jing Zang
Memecylon terminale Dalz is an endemic plant that is exclusively present in the Western Ghat region of Southern India. The traditional healers in this region have been using this plant extract to cure disorders such as dysentery, diabetes, diarrhea, piles, haemoptysis, menorrhagia and shown to possess carminative stomachic astringent property. The present study was carried out to evaluate the hypoglycemic activity of different extracts of M. terminale Dalz in alloxan induced diabetic rats. Chloroform and methanolic extracts of M. terminale Dalz leaves were screened for hypoglycemic activity in alloxan induced diabetes in Swiss albino rats. The lipid profile was also examined in diabetic rats administered with these extracts. The efficacy of these extracts was also analyzed for their ability to inhibit α-glucosidase and α-amylase. Of the two extracts, chloroform extract (500 mg/kg body weight) showed dose dependent decrease in blood glucose level which was comparable to that of control after 24 h of extract administration. On the other hand, chloroform extract also showed good lipid profile that was comparable with standard drug. As compared to chloroform extract, the methanolic extract showed good inhibition of α-amylase and α-glucosidase enzyme activity. The results of our study indicate that M. terminale Dalz plant possesses significant protective effects against alloxan induced diabetes. However, detailed structure function analysis of active ingredients of the extract is needed to be validated.

Kidney stones formation or Urolithiasis is a complex process that results from series of several physicochemical events including super – saturation, nucleation, growth, aggregation and retention within the kidneys. Among the treatments include extracorporeal shock wave Lithotripsy (ESWL) and drug treatment. Even this ESWL treatment may cause acute renal injury, decrease in renal function and increase in stone recurrence. Data from in-vitro trails reveal that phytotherapeutic agents could be useful as either could be useful as either alternative or an adjunct therapy in the management of Urolithiasis. In the indigenous system of medicine, roots of Hedychium coronarium J. Koening are reported to be useful in the treatment of urinary stones. Hence, in the present study, the roots of Hedychium coronarium J. Koening have been selected for antiurolithiatic activity on experimental kidney stones. (In-vitro activity) Hedychium coronarium J. Koening is one of the ingredients of reputed herbal formulation Cystone for the treatment of kidney stones. In this study Alcoholic extract & Aqueous extract of roots part of the plant were evaluated for their potential to dissolved experimentally prepared kidney stones calcium oxalates, by an In-vitro model. Alcoholic extracts obtained from roots part demonstrated highest dissolution of Calcium oxalate (Kidney Stones) when compared to test extracts at 10 mg concentration. Reference standard formulation Cystone was found to be equally effective (39.12%) when compared to alcoholic extract of roots part.
This is a case report of a four year old female patient who was admitted to pediatrics ward at Owaisi Hospital and Research Centre with chief complaints of abdominal pain and burning sensation while micturition since 2 days, associated with frequent straw colored urination and nausea. The condition was diagnosed as Cystitis, for which antibiotics were started. Three days post administration of Metronidazole, seizures were experienced by the patient. This ADR has scored 6 on naranjo algorithm, which indicates the reaction as probable. This is a rare case of metronidazole induced seizures in a pediatric patient. The reason behind the event could be the dose of metronidazole, which was slightly higher than the calculated dose according to the weight of the patient.
STUDY ON ANTI ULCER AND ANTI INFLAMMATORY EFFECTS OF Vilvathi LehiyamJing Zang
The aim of the study, to evaluate the phytochemical, anti-ulcer and anti-inflammatory activities of Vilvathi Lehiyam. Anti-ulcer activity of ethanolic extract of Vilvathi Lehiyam was investigated on omeprazole induced ulcer model in albino rats. Ethanolic extract of dosage 250 and 500kg/mg produced significant inhibition of gastric lesions induced by Omeprazole induced ulcer. The extract 250 and 500kg/mg showed significant (p<0.01) reduction of pH value of gastric juice compared control. The Vilvathi Lehiyam was evaluated for anti-inflammatory activity against the carrageenan induced rat paw oedema at injected sthe doses 500 kg/mg body weight and the study was compared with standard drug Dexamethasone (2mg/kg). The Vilvathi Lehiyam has significant anti-inflammatory activity, which support the traditional medicinal utilization of Vilvathi Lehiyam. Based on the above results, of Vilvathi Lehiyam may be useful as a natural drug for the treatment of ulcer and inflammation.

Epiprinus mallotiformis (Muell.) is a tree belongs to the family Euphorbiaceae grows in the evergreen forests of the Western Ghats. The present study was performed to investigate the preliminary phytochemical analysis and antimicrobial activity of leaf extracts of E. mallotiformis the powdered leaf materials was subjected to soxhlet extraction successively by using low polar to high polar solvents. The antimicrobial activity of leaf extracts was performed by agar well diffusion method. The preliminary phytochemical analysis shows the presence of Flavonoids, glycosides, saponins, steroidsand tannins. Among the extracts methanol extract shows the significant activity when compare to all the solvent extracts. The maximum inhibition was found in Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumonia, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella typhifungi shows greater inhibition was found in Microsporumgypseum, Trichophytonrubrum, Chrysosporiummerdarium. The leaves of E. mallotiformiscould be used in the treatment of bacterial and fungal infections; the presence of various phytochemicals might be the responsible for these activities of the extract. Further studies on isolation of constituents from the extract and their biological activities are under investigation.

Propolis, a natural antibiotic is a resinous yellow brown to dark brown substance that honey bees collect from tree buds, sap flow, shrubs or other botanic sources. The pharmacologically active molecules in the Propolis are flavanoids and phenolic acids and their esters. Propolis has been used in dentifrices, as a storage medium for teeth that have avulsed, in periodontal therapy and in endodontic treatment. Propolis extract used as mouth rinse possesses anti microbial activity against streptococcus mutans present in the oral cavity. Subgingival irrigation with Propolis extract as an adjunct to periodontal treatment may also be more effective than scaling and root planning alone. It has promising role in future medicine as well as dentistry. Thus, switching back to natural resources, Propolis seems to be a promising alternative for the control of oral diseases in terms of anti microbial response and lower associated risk.

This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.

diabetes are age, family history, obesity, physical
inactivity and sedentary living, insulin resistance,
stress etc. Complications of Diabetes mellitus may
develop after many years (10-20). The major longterm complications include damage to blood
vessels. Nearly 45% of all diabetics have peripheral
vascular disease . Type 2 diabetes is one of the
major life threatening diseases worldwide these
cases are progressing at an incremental rate every
year and number of research works are going on to
control the disease by targeting its enzymes or
proteins.[8] Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a
genetically heterogeneous, polygenic disease with a
complex inheritance pattern and is caused by
genetic predisposition and environmental factors
[9].With comparison with Cancer and HIV
infection, Diabetes has emerged as a major
healthcare problem in India. With comparison with

Diabetes Atlas published by the International
Diabetes Federation (IDF), there were an estimated
40 million persons with diabetes in India in 2007
and this number is predicted to rise to almost 70
million people by 2025. The countries with the
largest number of diabetic people will be India,
China and USA by 2030[10]. Islet β-cells loose
their ability to synthesize insulin under diabetic
conditions, which is at least partially due to the
decreased activity of insulin transcription factors
such as MafA[11].MafA, a recently isolated
pancreatic β-cell-specific transcription factor, is a
potent activator of insulin gene transcription.[12].
It is known that the insulin gene is specifically
expressed in pancreatic β-cells and that insulin
plays a crucial role in maintaining blood glucose
levels. It was previously shown that an unidentified
β-cell-specific nuclear factor binds to a conserved
cis-regulatory element called RIPE3b in the insulin
gene promoter region and is likely to function as an
important
transactivator
for
the
insulin
gene[13][14].
untreated, foot ulcers lead to infection and deeptissue necrosis[17][18]. Diabetics (7–10%) develop
chronic foot ulcers, a severe and expensive
complication with life and/or limb threatening
conditions . Chronic DFU are one of the most
common indications for hospitalization in
diabetics, and almost 50% of all non-traumatic
amputations are performed on diabetic patients.
Chronic DFU do not follow the well-described
sequence of wound healing[19][20].
One other potentially important finding in diabetes
is a disturbance in the expression and activation of
matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), a group of
enzymes responsible for extracellular matrix
(ECM) degradation. MMPs can be divided into
four subgroups based on substrate specificity –
interstitial collagenases, stromelysins, type IV
collagenases and membrane type-MMPs (MTMMPs). They are secreted in latent forms which
are cleaved to become biologically active. Their
activities are also tightly regulated by their
inhibitors,
the
tissue
inhibitors
of
metalloproteinases (TIMPs), which bind to the
active MMP enzyme with high affinity. Four
TIMPs (TIMP 1-4) have been identified; each has
the ability to bind and inhibit MMP activities to a
varying extent. MMPs are produced by many cell
types involved in wound healing including
fibroblasts, keratinocytes and inflammatory cells.
Their expression is modulated in response to
signals from cytokines, growth factors, cell– matrix
interactions and altered cell-cell contacts[22].
MATERIALS AND METHODS
The Structure of the Protein MAFa and MMMP9
with the PDB ID (4EOT and 2OW2) was retrieved
from the Protein Data Bank. It is a repository for
the 3-D structural data of large biological
molecules, such as proteins and nucleicacids.
Active site prediction: After obtaining the PDB ID
(4EOT and 2OW2), thepossible binding sites of
MAFA and MMP9 weresearched using Computed
Atlas of Surface Topography of Proteins (CASTp).
These include pockets located on protein surfaces
and voids buried in the interior of proteins. CASTp
includes a graphicaluser interface, flexible
interactive visualization, as well as on-the-fly
calculation for user uploaded structures
Foot ulceration remains a major health problem for
diabetic patients and has a major impact on the cost
of diabetes treatment[15]. Antimicrobial resistance
mediated by extended-spectrum b-lactamases
(ESBLs) production by bacteria is considered to be
a major threat for foot amputation[16]. One major
complication of diabetes is foot ulceration, which
occurs in as many as 15–25% of type 1 and type 2
diabetic patients over their lifetimes . Studies show
that between 2 and 6% of diabetic patients will
develop a foot ulcer every year . The feet of
patients with diabetes are at risk for ulceration due
to a wide range of pathological conditions, the
major three being peripheral neuropathy, foot
deformity, and trauma, which may be exacerbated
by comorbid peripheral vascular disease . If left

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
Molecular modeling (docking) study was carried
out for compound like from homogalacturonan,
folacin, rutin, quertin, gossypol, cyanidin 4
glucoside, [E,E] Farenesal , glysine, i amyl
butanate, ash from Abelmoscus esculentus (1A13) fig 1(A,B,C,D ,E,F,G,H,,I, and J) for Diabetics
and Foot ulcer.

Folacin
The target protein and inhibitors were
geometrically optimized .Given the threedimensional structure of a target receptor molecule
usually a protein; chemical compounds having
potential affinity toward site are designed
rationally, with the aid of computational methods.
Detailed bioinformatics analysis offers a
convenient methodology for efficient insilico
preliminary analysis of possible function of new
drug. Figure 3 shows the structure Mafa and
Mmp9.

All the Ten inhibitors were docked against active
site of the target proteins using Argus lab which
gives an insight into the binding modes for the
various inhibitors. Out of 10 inhibitors analyzed i.e.
homogalacturonan, folacin , rutin, quertin,
gossypol, cyanidin 4 glucoside, [E,E] Farenesal ,
glysine, i amyl butanate, ash.has showed higher
binding energy of -10.55 Kcal/mol and -8.88
Kcal/mol against the target proteins. The binding
energy of all the inhibitors was shown in Table 1.
Figure 4 represents the docked complex of the
inhibitors to that of the target protein
Rutin
The Table 2 describes the molecular properties of
Mafa and Mmp9 protein in [E,E] Farenesal and
gossypol (Table 2). [E,E] Farenesal and gossypol
is a small sized molecule with a molecular weight
of
220.35046 g/mol and
518.5544 g/mol
Respectively.It has two hydrogen bond donors and
four hydrogen bond acceptors with two rotatable
bond.The chrysophanic acid and Colchicine
compound has the LogP value of 4.9 and 6.9.
Thereby it satisfies all the criteria of Lipinski's rule
of five (Christopher et al., 1997).

CONCLUSIONS
The present study indicates that analysis the
property Abelmoschus esculentus herbal plant can
be used in the treatment of Diabetes and Foot
ulcer which shows a strong binding affinity
towards MAFA and MMP9 protein . This brings a
strong focus towards these plant that, when
administered during the treatment of Diabetes and
Foot ulcer may block MAFA and MMP9
Abelmoschus esculentus
showed the highest
affinity towards MAFA and MMP9 compared to
other compounds. This creates a strong hypothesis
that the effects of complex formation by MAFA
and MMP9 .Abelmoschus esculentus contribute
towards combating against Diabetes and Foot
ulcer. Hence, Abelmoschus esculentus
may
become a prospective target for inhibition of
Diabetes and Foot ulcer and may unlock a strong
Docking complex of MAFA and MMP9 protein

specified towards it. Hence the compound specified
in this work can undergo certain specification to
improve its drug properties and could act as a best
drug for Diabetes and Foot ulcer . The mechanism
of action of Abelmoschus esculentus inhibit the
activity of MAFA and MMP9 That is involved
Diabetes and Foot ulcer hence Abelmoschus
esculentus having both property of anti Diabetes
and anti inflammatory
