Why Was Salt So Valuable
Why was salt so valuable that it was once used as money. Salt was valuable for many reasons.
Salt had different values to different people. So valuable, that it was used a money for centuries.
Salt had a various amount of uses and properties that made it so valuable to be used as a currency
for over 5 Countries (TIME). Salt is one of the most useful items in this world today and we would
be in terror without it. (Salt An Amazing History). Salt was used as moneyfor four main reason.
Those four being that it was very hard to find because in primitive times they couldn t get down
to the salt mines (TIME). Another reason for salt being so valuable was because it had three
main uses that made it distinctive. One of those being that it was a really good antiseptic which
means that it was able to kill bacteria and cure some diseases (Salt). Another reason for salt being
so valuable was because it was a really good natural preservative, this means that salt is able to slow
the process of bacteria growing on something. The last major reason for salt being so valuable was
because it added flavor to food which added to its value. Another key reason for salt being used as
money is who used it as money.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Roman soldiers and British troops were paid in salt. British troops were played in salt because
their government could not afford to pay them in money (TIME). Roman soldiers were paid in
salt because there was no other current (Salt). The other people who used salt as a form of
money were the Moorish people, they traded one ounce of salt for one ounce of gold (TIME).
The other people who used salt as a form of money were the Mayan tribe, they traded salt for
things such as tools and clothes (Minister). The French government taxed his people in salt, he
would make them buy it as a form of taxing them (Salt An Amazing

Extreme Sports
Introduction Extreme sports (also called action sport and adventure sport) are a media term for
certain activities perceived as having a high level of inherent danger. These activities often
involve speed, height, high level of physical exertion, highly specialized gear or spectacular
stunts. At present date, there are no careful studies or statistics of deaths to separate activities
with low or normal level of danger from those with high level of danger. While use of the term
extreme sport has spread far and wide to describe a multitude of different activities, exactly which
sports are considered extreme is debatable. There are however several characteristics common to
most extreme sports. Extreme sports tend to be more solitary... Show more content on

The two years following that, the Games were held in Mount Snow, Vermont. And since 2002 the
Winter X Games have been held at Buttermilk Mountain in Aspen, Colorado, and they will continue
to be held there through 2012.The Winter X Games gained media exposure due to their big name
sponsors and star studded athletes. However, their marketing ideas add to that because of the
number of fans who attend the actual events. As the Journal of Sport Management (2006) explains,
Generation X and Generation Y are the two most highly valued by marketers. This creates a
broad approach on marketing towards that certain demographic, which is why the Winter X
Games marketing and economic outlook is so out of the box . The Winter X Games inaugural
year, 1997, was televised to 198 countries and 38,000 spectators attended the actual four day event.
In 1998, the attendance dropped to 25,000 spectators. But just two years later, a record attendance
of 83,500 people attended the Winter X Games east coast debut. The Games continue to grow
thanks to certain marketing plans such as The Interactive Village, Musical Line Ups, and the
Snowskate Park.
2.2. The Interactive Village The Interactive Village is described as the designated Official Winter
X Games Sponsor Booth area. It is usually located by the main entrance of the event and it offers
fun activities for all attending fans. Some activities include scheduled autograph signings,

My Professional Development Goals Have Been Established...
Statement of Personal Goals
My professional development goals have been established along the DPT program. As I was
taking classes I had defining moments where I could clearly see my career direction moving
forward. I have become more conscious about the importance of pursuing high quality continuing
education courses and professional development opportunities, beneficial not only to me, but to the
over ninety therapists working at our practice and the 20+ Level II students coming for their
clinical internships at our agency every year. As we all have been instructed, we are accountable for
learning and change (American Physical Therapy Association, 2012). Also, under the core value of
professional duty, we are called to mentor others to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To achieve this goal, I will be working closely with the University of Central Florida DPT program
in small research studies involving children and families in our practice. Currently, two grants
requests have been submitted pursuing funds for research activities. My goal is to tap into one to
four grant opportunities per year to expand our investigative initiatives program.
As part of my professional growth, effective this upcoming summer, I also would like to enhance an
existing program at our therapy practice where we discuss research articles. Part of the
enhancement plan includes not only sharing the articles but evaluating and critiquing them. One
critical appraisal tool under consideration to be used at our agency for that purpose is the Center
for Evidence Based Medicine Critical Appraisal Worksheets (2017). In a cross sectional study
performed by Kamwendo and Tornquist (2001) discussing the perceptions of OT and PT students
in Sweden toward research related activities, results showed students using problem based learning
are more inclined to engage in investigative and experimentation studies. We all need to exercise
the core value of excellence by using evidence consistently to support our professional decisions
and interventions. A second goal I am excited to pursue is

Prohibition Negative Effects
Prohibition was the nationwide ban of making, transporting, selling, and buying alcoholic drinks
from 1920 to 1933 in the United States. Because of this ban many people turned to illegal activity
to satisfy their alcoholic temptations. So the real question to ask is, did Prohibition have a positive
or a negative effect on our country? There are many ways that Prohibition had negative a effect on
our country. Research shows that prohibition caused many people to become criminals, lose their
jobs, businesses to shut down, and caused the government to lose significant amount of tax money.
When the law first went into effect, people thought sales of clothing and household goods would go
up dramatically. Real estate developers and landlords expected rents to... Show more content on

Due to the ban distilleries, breweries, and saloons had to close down. Not only did distributors
lose their jobs but craftsmen like barrel makers, truckers, and others as well. One of the most
negative effects of prohibition was the loss of revenue for the government. Many American
states relied on the tax of liquor sales to fund their budgets. For example almost 75% of New
York`s state revenue came from liquor sales. With the new prohibition law the Federal
Government lost an estimated total of $11 billion dollars, while costing them another $300 million
to enforce it. Now the government would have to rely on federal income tax to fund budgets
moving ahead. Prohibition also has had many direct impacts on the American citizens. Many
police officers and prohibition agents frequently were tempted by bribes or the opportunity to go
into bootlegging. Many stayed honest, but many also gave in. With alcohol now being illegal, the
growth of the illegal liquor trade under Prohibition made criminals of millions of Americans. One
of the legal exceptions to the Prohibition law was that pharmacists were allowed to distribute
whiskey by prescription for many

The Consequence of Communication Failure Essay

Failure Introduction In the history and evolution of professional communication practices, there are
several instances that have greatly impacted our understanding of the necessity for clear and
effective technical communication. Few, however, have had such eye opening impact that they
continue to be discussed decades after their occurrence. Two such incidents to have reached this
height are concerning the Three Mile Island nuclear plant and the Challenger shuttle launch.

A Matter of Nuclear Proportion In a relatively short memo written by D. F. Hallman, manager of
Plant Performance Services at TMI, he relays the concerns of B.M. Dunn. A problem with the
practices and procedures of the Three Mile Island nuclear plant is addressed. Dunn is the manager
of the Emergency Core Cooling System Analysis department of Babcock amp; Wilcox (B amp;W),
the same company that designed the nuclear reactor for the Three Mile Island power plant.
(Mathes) Short, Sweet, and to the Point? Quite frankly, this memo leaves much to be desired, given
the weight of the situation. In its entirety, it is a few brief paragraphs addressing the situation and a
few questions that need to be answered promptly. It is somewhat formal yet lacks the urgency in
tone necessary to move the reader to action. There are, however, some references attached that
provide the information in more detail. These attachments aside, Hallman seems to have minimal
concern for the efficiency of the actions required. (Hallman) Upon some background research, it is
clearly seen that Hallman was not the proper person for Dunn to contact with such vital
information. For a decision such as this one, the concerns should have been sent to another
department, one with the authority, ability and experiential knowledge to understand the gravity of
the situation. Can one blame Hallman for not knowing? Could it be that he was aware of the proper
destination of such information and failed to

Automotive Repair
To be a productive and active citizen in the modern world nearly requires access to a reliable
automobile. We use our vehicles to get to and from work, to bring our children to school and
other events and to travel about our communities. The vehicle has permeated so many aspects of
our lives that sometimes it is easy to forget the extent to which we rely on it. Because of this
reliably and because of the necessity of a working order automobileto get things done, it is of
supreme importance to work to maintain your vehicle. None of us likes to be the person stranded,
prior to an important appointment, because of an automotive issue. For these and other reasons, it
is important to consider carefully an automotive service provider.
Many car repair service providers offer an extensive variety of professional services. The most
typical of these services is the oil change. When considering an automotive profession, it will
serve you well to consider the types of oil change services offered. Some companies offer a
standard oil change or a more extensive oil filter replacement procedure. An engine is a complex
machine. There are numerous moving parts that function in tandem to propel your vehicle. These
parts, when operating, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Tires incur much damage through extensive use. Since many of us use our vehicles daily and
extensively, our tires suffer routine wear and tear. Many automotive service providers offer
different tire maintenance services. Aside from typical tire sales, they also offer tire rotation and
alignment services. Working with a vehicular professional can extend the life of your tires and
make your investment last longer. These professionals can help you become more aware of the
signs of tire wear, both visible and through the feel of your vehicle s ride. An awareness of these
aspects can help you prevent future blowouts and can maximize the life of your tires and vehicle

Essay on Ap Bio Plants
1.)
Roots support photosynthesis and respiration by absorbing minerals and water and by storing
organic nutrients. They also anchor the plant. Some roots have mycorrhizae, which increase the
surface area and therefore increase the absorption. The endodermis, which is the innermost layer of
cells in the root cortex, surrounds the vascular cylinder. It is the passage of minerals from the
cortex into the vascular tissue.
The stem has a system of nodes where leaves are attached. They have a waxy coating (epidermis)
that prevents water loss. The stem and the roots are the 2 main axes in a vascular plant. Fluids are
transported between the roots and the shoots through the stem by the phloem and xylem.
Leaves are the main photosynthetic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They have vascular tissues for long distance transport like the xylem and phloem. Additionally
there is a way for plants to reproduce without requiring water. Another reason is secondary growth
with the vascular cambium. The stem or root will grow in diameter and will be thickened, reducing
water loss and protecting the surface more fully. The different plant tissues (dermal tissues, vascular
tissue and ground tissues) are adoptions as well.
4.)
Water flows from high water potential to low water potential. They have three routes for that: the
transmembrane route (out of one cell, across a cell wall and into another cell), the symplastic route
(via the continuum of cytosol) and the apoplastic route (via cell walls and extracellular spaces).
Roots are another way for water uptake and transport (example: mycorrhizae and endodermis). This
transport is regulated by the compartmental structure of plants. The concept of transpiration is made
possible through adhesion and cohesion.
5.)
The plant is required to be able to work at the molecular level, because (as only of many
examples) it needs sucrose. Proton pumping and the cotransport of sucrose and H+ are two of the
ways for a plant to get its required amounts of sucrose. The plant is also in need of nitrogen for its
organic synthesis. It can acquire that by nitrogen fixing bacteria that convert atmospheric N2 to
nitrogenous minerals.

An example for an organ is the tuber or bulb. They

All Human Beings Possess A Basic Understanding Of Love
All human beings possess a basic understanding of love and are able to express love through
verbalizations, emotions, gestures, or other acts of kindness; however, the condition of the human
heart is tainted by sin and so is love in terms of humanity. Thus, human beings are unable to
understand and comprehend love s truest form which is found in the embodiment God s being. God
s love is communicated to mankind through the covenants, the wonders of creation, the personhood
of JesusChrist, and the power of the Holy Spiritwho subsequently seals God s offer of salvation
through the atoning death of Jesus Christ. Furthermore, those whom God allows Himself to be
known can also know God s love through God s providential care and sustainment... Show more

Hence, with all the confusion and mystery that surrounds the Trinity, it becomes difficult to
understand how each member of the Trinity shares in the attribute of God s love.
Without the Trinity, human beings cannot appreciate the attribute of God s love. Thus, God
reveals His attribute of love through Jesus Christ (John 3:16) while Jesus displays the attribute
of God s love through the crucifixion (John 15:13), and the Holy Spirit makes the attribute
known through the regeneration (Titus 3:5) of the believer (Dockery, 1992). Furthermore, love
itself is in triunity; hence, there must be the lover, the love, and the loved (Conner, 1980, p. 53).
In the Godhead, the attribute of God s love finds a perfect expression (Matthew 3:16; John
14:31) in the triunity of the Father who is the lover, the Son who is the loved, and the Holy
Spirit who is love (Conner, 1980, p. 53). Thus, the Father who so loved (John 3:16) gave the Son
his love (Colossians 1:13) and the love of the Spirit (Romans 15:30; Galatians 5:22) which is
expressed to mankind not only in creation but in redemption where the invisible is made visible
(Conner, 1980).
Adding to the complexity of God s love is the fact that the attribute of God s love is not easily seen
in the Holy Spirit as the Holy Spirit never truly reveals Himself to human consciousness; hence, the

Despite the vast research on nutrition and health, malnutrition is still a major fatality in this present
day. Policymakers, social scientist and medical experts have expressed alarm about the growing
problem. While most agree that the issue deserves attention, consensus dissolves around how to
respond and resolve the problem. Malnourishment continues to be a primary health liability in

Unsafe water supplies are often contaminated with infectious agents, toxic chemicals, and
radiological hazards. In 2000, the World Health Organization and UNICEF identified some 2.4
billion people who did not have basic sanitation facilities, and 1.1 billion people without a safe
drinking water supply. (Wagner, 2009) Some communities experienced diarrhea, caused by a
variety of parasites, viruses, and bacteria that infect people as a result of contaminated drinking
water or poor hygiene. In India, more than 500,000 children die from diarrhea every year. Like
other tropical diseases, when diarrhea does not kill, it weakens, leaving people more susceptible to
other infections, such as tuberculosis and HIV. (Whitman, 2008).
Lack of Prenatal and Postnatal Education
Breastfeeding is the single most effective nutritional strategy for protecting infants against
infections and diseases. Three mechanisms have been proposed by which human milk constituents
protect the infant from infection. Two are based on the immunologic constituents of human milk
and the third is its high nutrient value. (National Academy Press, 1992) In LDCs the health of
many children are significantly impaired, sometimes permanently, by the lack of nutrition they
received during the breastfeeding phase. Breastfeeding requires a mother to have a specific diet. In

It can be seen that dhrystone scores and MIPS scores of the both Emulators are surpassing the
values provided for Motorola 68040 at 25 MHz by promotional literature of Motorola.
Interestingly, these emulations were conducted on ARM Cortex A7, which is a low end
processor. Low end here specifically means that ARM Cortex A7 has lower performance in
terms of DMIPS/MHz compared to performance of Freescale MPC8270 used in processor
module of ABB AC 800M. This instinctively implies that these emulations can be potentially
considered for integrating legacy applications built for ABB AC 450 using Motorola 68040 into
modern ABB AC 800M based on a high end processor MPC8270. These results are also significant
because emulators were open source under GPL licenses; this means that there was no extra cost
involved for commercial licenses. Therefore, these emulators suffice the need of legacy integration

Dhrystone is especially designed to estimate integer performance of a processor based systems. A
particular dhrystone score mentions number of times a fundamental function of a dhrystone
source code is executed per second. Better this score is, the better is the performance of a
processor. To calculate time taken by a dhrystone fundamental function, dhrystone uses standard
times(2) function by default. However, times(2) provides time values in terms of processor
clocks consumed. To have this value in seconds dhrystone also requires specification of clock rate
used by a processor. Therefore, it is a convention to provide dhrystone score with a clock rate.
However, there is no need of specifying clock rate, if the time calculations are performed using
standard time(NULL) function. For emulators, time calculations are done using standard
time(NULL) function. Hence, in this report no clock rates are specified with dhrystone scores

haven t acquired enough independence. Although it s your paternal instinct to take care of and
control everything in their developing lives, independence is what s going to help them succeed

to encourage more independence, in the most caring and supportive way: 1. Raise The Bar With

As hard as it is to just stand by and watch your child, whether they re succeeding or not, they need
that space to learn, evolve and experiment, or else they re always going to be looking for you to
rescue them. Entering any preschool program, your child won t have the luxury of constant
individual attention, meaning they will have no choice but to sink or swim. Since you want
them to swim, start giving them room to self resolve issues now, while they still have you as a
safety net. Before long, they ll understand that if they want some problems solved, they have to
put on their thinking caps, use patience and take matters into their own little hands. If it seems
hard for you to cease the hoovering, just wait until you feel the total exhilaration of watching
your child accomplish something all on their own; it s such a breath taking moment for parents,
you ll automatically start giving them more room to act independently in many instances. 3.
Assign A Simple Job To Your Child You don t realize how much your child depends on you for
everything, until you ask them to do something on their own. They might look at you as if you re
perfectly out of your mind or they might even cry about the new task, but being a responsible,

succeed in a busy classroom. Give them a simple job they must tend to daily, showering them with

The Mexica Empire against Hernan Cortes Essay
The Totonacs joined forces with Cortes against the emperor and his allies. Other neighboring towns
that resented the deplorable Aztec hegemony stopped paying tribute as a gesture of support for the
Spanish. As a response, those in power at TenochtitlГЎn sent forces to Cempoala to punish the
defiance but the Spanish with newly acquired allies defeated the advancing army (Castillo). It was
here at Cempoala that the Spanish would meet the Tlaxcalans for the very first time, prompting a

The conquistadors defeated the warriors of the Mexica empire due to a number of reasons that
not only pertain to the weapons they possessed. Interestingly enough, all the steel and horses
contributed to the physical aspect of war but on a psycho social level, it was the Aztecs varying
conception of warfare that led to Spanish victory. Conquistadors were taught to fight to the death
and move on to the next one while the Aztecs would focus a large amount of energy to capturing
and taking prisoners (Brandt). Whether it was for personal reasons or the desire for human
sacrifice, this concept impeded their chances of winning battles. Isolation can be noted as a small
factor as well since the Aztecs kept their empire confined to the continent and never branched out to
discover new technology.
The Spanish on the other hand had a very strong background in exploration with ties to naval and
advanced military tactics. These men were cogs in a powerful war machine that was the reason
Charles V had so much land and power. With exploration comes new discovery such as new
weapons and advancements in warfare. In every way possible, Spanish military dominance
consisting of steel, cavalry, and gunpowder was underlying reason the natives never stood a chance.

Leading Causes Of Death In Horses
There is a lot to know about horses. The most important thing you need to to know is how to
keep your horse safe. You can do this by learning about different diseases horses can have and
how to treat them as well as knowing what to do when they get hurt. The leading causes of death
in horses are old age, colic, and injury. Following the first three are diseases. If your horsegets into
an accident and hurts itself a veterinarian needs to be contacted immediately. When a horse colics
it has extreme abdominal pain. You need to call a vet right away and walk the horse around. Two
of the most common signs of a horse colicking is laying down sprawled out and looking at their
stomach.
Vaccinating your horse is essential. It is the only way to keep your horse from contracting and
spreading dangerous and potentially fatal diseases. The six main vaccines that you must give to

The Theory Of The Social Learning Theory
The act of learning is an innate characteristic belonging to people across the globe. Learning can
take place in many different forms (reading, writing, speaking, listening, excellency in a particular
skill, etc.) and settings, generalizing from one content area to another. It also occurs at varying rates
across a diverse spectrum of populations and can be influenced by any number of factors including
personalities, perceived abilities, societal values and environment. Some individuals acquire
information best in formal settings, like the direct instruction or supports found in a classroom,
while others may benefit more from informal instruction, learning incidentally from their
surroundings. Throughout the course of history, there have been many perspectives regarding
education and the manner in which individuals learn best. I will primarily focus on the educational
perspective of the Social Learning Theoryand briefly discuss its history as well as its prominent
figures, components, and implications in regard to language and literacy both inside and outside of
the classroom.
In 1954 Julian B. Rotter developed the Social Learning Theory that gravitated away from Freud s
psychoanalysis and Skinner s behaviorism that focused on behavior rather than intrinsic thought.
They were the most popular theories during that time, focusing on experimental methods,
emphasizing variables that are observable, measurable, and manipulatable, avoiding whatever is

A newspaper headline is often the only thing that readers read in a newspaper, or at least, it is the
first thing that everyone notices in a newspaper. It serves as a indicator for the reader that helps
decide whether to continue on reading the whole text or to skip it onto another one. Each headline
should be a summary of the news which follows. A headline should be a regular sentencestructure
containing a subject and a verb. It means that only lexical, not grammatical words are used. The
major reason for that is the space. Then the rule of a sentence may be broken, only minor sentences
are used, and such a headline can be rather difficult to understand. This happens on purpose to make
the headline somehow special with the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Newspaper headlines often follow rather different grammatical rules from other kinds of writing.
1. Articles and the verb to be in various functions are often left out. * LAS VEGAS A POTENTIAL
MODEL FOR CRIMEA * MISSING TEENAGER FOUND UNHARMED * EVERY WORKER A
UNION MEMBER 2. Newspapers have a special tense system. It is unusual to find complex
forms like is coming or has produced ; is used, whether the headline is about something that has
happened, something that is happening, or something that happens repeatedly. * AFGHANS
BEGIN MEETING ON CONSTITUTION * ACTRESS IRENE HANDL DIES AGED 85
Sometimes the Present Continuous is used (usually to denote something that is changing or
developing), but the auxiliary verb is usually left out. * MAYOR ELECTION SPENDING SOARS
* SOUTH AFRICA RUNNING DRY * OUTBREAK OF FOOG POISONING HITS KYIV
To refer to the future, headlines often use the infinitive. * DENMARK TO VOTE * GIULIANI TO

Mark Antony Research Paper
Mark Antony Bringing Out the Hero
William Shakespeare is one of the greatest English writers of time; one of his most famous plays
is The Tragedy of Julius Caesar. In the dramatic play, Caesar, the soon to be king, got brutally
murdered by the conspirators, because they were afraid he would abuse the power of king. Mark
Antony a friend of Caesar, then got a piece of power and wanted more. Through the beginning half
Brutus seems like a villain, but through the second half Antony turns out to be the wrongdoer.
The man who assembled Brutus to be a tragic hero is Mark Antony. While Brutus was loyal, Mark
Antony was anything but. In ACT III, Brutus states, not that I loved Caesar less but I loved Rome

What is Drafting Technology exactly? The career field is such a broad description of so many

of an object or an idea, this can fluctuate as the project is coming along. After drafting you have

that being said Drafting Technologyis exactly what is sounds like, the worker comes up with a

This is a very important skill to have because when designing a blueprint for something the
employee could run into many difficulties that may not be the easiest thing to fix and that
employee would need to come up with a solution while also staying in the specific guidelines for
the project. So like I previously stated Drafting technology is a very broad description of a career
field that has many sub categories within it like: architectural, civil, electrical, and mechanical
drafting. Civil engineering is exactly what it sounds like this sub field focuses on the thing that
deal with the civil life for example they are the engineers that build bridges and buildings. Just
like civil engineers is self explanatory so is Electrical Engineering the engineers of the field
focus on everything that deals with electronics, this can range in difficulty from designing the
motherboard of a computer to designing a cell phone. The final sub field is Mechanical
Engineer, this group designs a variety of objects that can be as simple as a single part like a bolt
to the most confusing and complex assemblies like a refrigerator. Even though all of these sub
fields have different job focuses they all have the same amount of income with a range from

Analysis Of The Book Meridian By Alice Walker
Alice Walker once said, No person is your friend who demands your silence, or denies you the
right to grow. Due to the extreme patriarchal society based in the sixties era, women s voices
were often disregarded and silenced. In the historical novel Meridian, by Alice Walker, the main
female protagonist, Meridian, struggles to comply with the harsh patriarchal systems set in place
in her community, in turn, she uses her silence as a form of resistance. She has various
encounters with a man named Truman, whom she is in love with, but fears she s not good
enough because of the color of her skin. She begins articulate her thoughts and acting without
explanation. To replace her silenced voice, Walker uses third person omniscient and
characterization. Meridian is a woman with endless thoughts and questions that she neglects to
voice or ask. The root of Meridian s resistant manner stems from the uncomfortable power
struggle she has with men, like Truman, because of the expectations of women in the sixties. Men
were placed above women and women s opinions were deemed irrelevant. The author s usage of
third person omniscient reveals Meridian s subconscious thoughts during moments where her
voice is overpowered by a male character. For example, She was also tempted to add white
exchange students. But how polite she was! (Walker 108). In this scene Meridian runs into Truman
and begins a dialogue about his beliefs. Meridian is embarrassed by Truman s infatuation with white

The Funeral Of Julius Caesar
The Funeral Speeches in Julius Caesar Words have great power and astounding capability when
the wielder uses them to their true advantage. William Shakespeare is a revered writer of the
Renaissance Era, and his work continues to be used and influential today. In his play Julius
Caesar, two speakers use their ability with words to turn the opinion of their audience, ultimately
starting a war. Through analysing their tactics as well as the words themselves we can more
fully understanding why it ended as it did; more importantly, we can also understand speaking
styles, when to implement each, and how they impacted their citizens so thoroughly. These
speeches occurred right after Caesar s assassination. Brutus spoke first, then left. Marc Antony
gave a speech following his, with his own unique tactics. It was the combination of these two
speeches that resulted in the resolution of the play. As I have previously stated, Brutus was the
first to speak. He spun a beautiful tale, using logos as his primary form of persuasion. He said
things such as, Not that I loved Caesar less, but that I loved Rome more. () These statements
painted him to be the noblest of men. He wanted the townspeople to believe his was in the right,
and did it solely for their benefit. The reasons for the assassination were stated clearly and in a
mechanical sense, it seemed none could argue with his logic. He offered to commit suicide and a
citizen promptly shouted, Live, Brutus! live, live! (), demonstrating

The Discovery Of Ekofisk Oil Field
Introduction
The Ekofisk oil field is one of the offshore giant oil field of the north sea with an estimated 6.9
billion barrels of original oil in place. It is located at Block 2/4 in the Norwegian part of the
North Sea which is about 300 kilometers southwest of Stavanger. Ekofisk has a few licensed
owners namely Total E P Norge AS (39.90%), ConocoPhillips Skandinavia AS (35.11%), Eni Norge
AS (12.39%), Statoil Petroleum AS (7.60%) and Petoro AS (5.00%) with ConocoPhillips
Skandinavia AS as the operator of the it.
The discovery of Ekofisk oil field was announced in December 1969. The discovery was a
turning point for oil exploration in the North Sea as it gave hope to the oil industry. Although
the exploration in the North Sea was triggered by the discovery of the giant gas field, Groningen,
but the effort in search for commercial oil rapidly declines after drilling over 200 exploratory
well. Since then, most of the oil companies consider exploration in North Sea is infeasible or even
impossible as the environmental conditions in the North Sea was harsh due to the strong gale force
wind, treacherous water depth and high tidal waves. Those who endured the misgivings of others
prevailed and discovered Ekofisk oil Field.

Comparison Of The Redgate Company Vs. Apple Inc.
III. Comparison
Both Redgate Company and Apple Inc. have used motivation and understanding and managing
work teams in training their employees to become more productive and work efficiently. Although
both of the company choose the same topics, the method they used in motivation and managing
work teams are different from each other. However, both of the company still have the same
objectives which are enhancing individual creativity and to provide stimulating environments.
a) Comparison in motivation
First of all, Redgate Company and Apple Inc. uses the method intrinsic motivation in motivating
their employees. The Redgate Company uses the intrinsic motivation by issuing a challenge
called Coding by the Sea to their employees. The idea of the challenge was proposed in
November 2009 from the CEO of the company, Neil Davidson. He sent an email to every
employee of the company which stated, if the employee are willing to trying up something new

However the Redgate Company has their own principle that motivation isn t about carrots and
sticks which they believe that threat of punishment and constant surveillance are not compatible

employee can have the freedom to excel. (Red Gate Employee Innovation, 2016) This is the main
reason why Redgate Company is setting a flexible working hours for their employees. They
believed that flexible working hours will motivate the staff as the staff do not need to work during
the normal office. Eventually, the employee will not feel any pressure at work and can work
productively because they are satisfied about the balance hour between their work and personal
lives. Furthermore, the work deadlines are more realistic. (Companies,

The Marathon Is A Character Driven Journey Of Self Discovery
THE MARATHON is a character driven journey of self discovery. The goal is clear and the
stakes are personal. The script offers complex characters with strong inner struggles and conflicts.
The protagonist, Leaf, is easy too root for and care about. The tone is dramatic. The script is driven
by solid themes about survival, healing, forgiveness, and second chances.
There s a lot to really like about this script and while it merits consideration, the script would still
benefit from further development.
First, the opening sets the tone and anticipation as it transitions back in time. The structure utilizes

There are far too many characters to track (mainly the teens). Because there are so many, none of
them are fully developed. Consider narrowing the cast.
Continue to develop the core teens. There are several subplots introduced, but none of them are
fully formed.
For example, a romance, triangle subplot is introduced between Leaf, Miranda, and Andrew, yet it
never feels entirely developed or resolved. Thus, explore more of the character of Miranda and her
budding relationship with Leaf. There s a lot more room for tension in this subplot. Create a
stronger relationship arc between Miranda and Leaf. This would be something that pulls them apart.
Elevate Andrew s jealousy to add more solid conflict. Push this story to the edge, even perhaps
add the all is lost moment when they send Leaf back to Juvenile Hall (for fighting with Andrew),
and then show how he s able to find his way back into the program.
The Jason subplot currently doesn t have a strong emotionally impact on the audience. The idea is
smart to show that it s challenging to survive outside the program and that some will fail, but the
audience needs to know Jason better and they need to emotionally identify with him and root for
him. As structured now, the audience doesn t feel as if they truly get to know Jason and his
struggles. Create a stronger bond between Leaf and Jason. Focus more on the relationship between
the teens, as well as Leaf s relationship

Kandinsky Vs Klee
Wassily Kandinsky and Paul Klee are two of the famous artists of abstract art. They both had
started their painting life since 1900, and they had had friendship during their lifetime. Which is
easier to compare their artworks by year and find the similarities of how they were influent by
each other. Such as Kandinsky s Improvisation and Klee s Colour shape in 1914, Kandinsky s
Black Increasing and Klee s Black Knight in 1927. Thus, the four paintingwould be the artworks to
compare. Two artists have the same perspective toward art. First, Kandinsky not only sees
colours as different moods but also sees them as the sounds of music. He also assigned
instrument tones to go with each colour: Red sounded like a trumpet; Green sounded like a
middle position violin; Light Blue sounded like flute; Dark Blue sounded like a cello, Yellow
sounded like a fanfare of trumpets; and White sounded like the pause in a harmonious melody.
(Kandinsky) It is a special perspective to see or hear art. In the same way, Klee was a musician
which found the resemblance between art and music.

The colors used in the enamel are light blue as its main background that symbolizes the sky, dark
blue, yellow, dark green, light green, red and white. Every shape has a thin golden outline, which
explains the unique and non industrialized manufacturing process. The fluid patterns seem to be
filling up the space in a non systematic nor a symmetrical way to reflect the natural behaviors of
the plants. There are no composition or main point of focus. Thus, the patterns are there to create
the surface rather than to illustrate a story. The empty areas such as the legs of the tripod are
filled with curved vine patterns. The curling vines overlap each other, creating a sense of
dimension and space on a flat surface. The leaf texture and lines make the vines recognizable.
Moreover, the absence of the leaf on the middle section of the lid shows that the curls on the lid are
clouds intertwining with smaller dragons that are hidden. This style reminisces the art of Zhou
where interlacing animals formed intricate patterns. Coincidentally, this is where the smoke or the
cloud of the incense will flow through. This censer portrays the commonly displayed theme of
journey to heaven, as it is embodied by the elements of the plants on Earth and the clouds from

The Law And Law Code
I know that people deserve the right to defend themselves in court, however a person cannot
adequately defend themselves unless they are very familiar with the law. This is precisely the
reason why lawyers exist. The law is very complex, so rather than forcing someone to go to law
school for ten years, we have them hire lawyers to help them with the law. Basically, the average
person does not know law enough to successfully defend himself or herself in court. I know that
the law code is extensive. It would take a very long time to get through it even if you read
constantly. II. Why am I interested: I can t really remember when I became fascinated in the
field of law and order. It was probably immediately after I started watching the show, you guessed
it, Law and Order. I became so interested with the court, the jury, the judge, but I found the lawyer
to be the most interesting position of them all. Whenever my parents found me not telling the
truth, or misbehaving, I would play pretend and respond to my parents with something along the
lines of: I plead guilty, your honor. I used to look back on it as something humorous and
something I didn t seriously want to do. Although, now I can see clearly that it was one of the
most serious of jobs, with huge competition and challenge. The task of the defense lawyer is
making sure the prosecution proves guilt beyond reasonable doubt. It seems to be one of the
noblest things a human can do. I would also certainly like to find

that diverse companies should book or record the revenue when it is earned and not when received

The Importance Of Religion And Superstition
Sometimes the question about spirituality, and why people believe in it swarms around the minds
of today s society. It never occurred to me about the importance of why people believed in
religion or superstition until I entered high school. Growing up Catholic, it felt like a routine to
attend mass every Friday and Sunday because that was what everyone I knew did. I was never that
interested in any beliefof God, let alone any interest in superstition. I always thought that my
religious beliefs tied to my cultural background. Growing up as a second generation of Filipino
heritage, life without Christ was looked upon as unbearable, and less motivating to do things in
life. It is as if Filipinos needed to breathe with the motivation of God, and become heavily
influenced by applying Catholicism to its culture. However, the question about why people believe
in religionand superstition is still a mystery to this day. I conducted an interview with a good friend
of mine named Andrei. Andrei values humbleness, and during my interview with him, he
reminisces about the times when he was a little boy, he and his grandmother would constantly go to

the idea of the significance of religion as well as superstition, he answered, Whatever you believe

In the most recent 2012 presidential election; Romney (R) received 57.2 % while Obama (D)
received 41.4% (Texas Political Almanac, 2013).
It is important to note that Although the two major national parties have dominated electoral
politics in the state; Texas also has spawned significant third parties that have affected national
politics (Texas Politics, 2013). The Reform party, founded by billionaire Ross Perot in the 1990
s, has gained support with a small number of Texas voters. The Libertarian and Green Parties
have experienced growth in Texas (Texas Politics, 2013). The candidates from these parties have
affected races statewide by almost 20%. In the 2012 presidential election both the Libertarian
and Green Party qualified for the 2012 ballot and resulted in receiving almost 2% of the Texas
vote (Texas Politics, 2013). However, in the 2012 elections, Republicans reigned in victory with
the Democrats only able to gain a few seats. In the 2013 legislative session, Democrats sit in 55
seats in relation to the 95 seats held by Republicans (Texas Politics, 2013).
United States Senator John Cornyn
Senator John Cornyn has been in public office for 28 years. Cornyn is described as a powerful

An Definition Of Domestic Violence Essay
The definition of domestic violence, or intimate partner violence, is a multiple or single incidence
of abusive behavior that uses oppression, threats, isolation, and fear that often results in
psychological and/or emotional trauma. Intimate partner violence is not a specific gender issue; a
common assumption is that victims of abusive relationships are only women, which is a false
belief. According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, 1 in 4 men have experience
some type of psychological and/or physical violence by their partner (2014). Partner abuse, or
domestic violence is a big social problem in the United States. Alone in Texas, the NCADV
reported that there were 76,704 victims of abuse by current or former spouses. They also
reported 114 Texan women were killed by their partners. This is more than 10% of the national
total (2015). No matter the age, gender or race, everyone is exposed to this threat. A recent report
by the NCADV also reveals that 75% of Texans ranging from 16 to 24 year olds have experienced
violence by their partners, or know someone (2015). This is definitely a scary high number. Another
common assumption is that it is only the victims the ones who suffer. This is not exactly true. Child
AbuseNeglect written by Stephanie Holt, Helen Buckley and Sadhbh finds that, children and
adolescents living with domestic violence are at increased risk of experiencing emotional, physical
and sexual abuse, of developing emotional and behavioral

The Namesake By Jhumpa Lahiri Cultural Identity
Cultural Identity is the framework that shapes who one is, as a person. It helps one to sustain self
identity and belonging anywhere in society. Although it might be transformed over time, it is the
way people undergo adversity. This sense of cultural identity is portrayed through the character,
Ashima Ganguli, who was ordained to reshape her identitywhen she migrated to America with her
husband, Ashoke. This move to America specifically Boston, allowed Ashima to be faced with
tribulations within herself. Ashima is characterized as a hesitant migrant who did not understand
how to deal with her situation (Lahiri Roy). Throughout the text of The Namesake, Jhumpa Lahiri
develops the character of Ashima Ganguli to shed light on the progression... Show more content on

Ashima surrounds herself with other Bengali migrants who are able to relate to her situation. They
all come from Calcutta, and for this reason alone they are friends (Lahiri 38). This sense of
socializing with others from the same culture gives Ashima a sense of connection and belonging.
Although, she begins to slowly do American things, she sti;; foes not feel fully at home...on
Pemberton road (Lahiri 280). Ashima s only exception to the American South Asia lives within
her children, when she chooses not to protest against her son Gogol s relationships. They ve
even gone so far as to point out examples of Bengali men they know who ve married Americans,
marriages that have ended in divorce (Lahiri 117). Ashima and Ashoke have a completely
different outlook of love and marriage than Gogol. They see love as something tied to marriage,
but Gogol is not even interested in that stuff. It is clearly inferred that Ashima and Ashoke have the
old frame of thinking when it comes to marriage. It is not seen till later where Ashima is accepting
of her daughter Sonia s relationship with an American. This acceptance of her daughter s
relationship shoes he willingness to accept others who do not always meet her

Waiting For Guffman
These past two weeks, while the theatre has been relatively calm, I chose three different pieces
of media in order to delve further into my theater knowledge. The first of which is Waiting for
Guffman , a mockumentary on the beginning of a theater company in Blaine, Missouri. The town
s resident director, Corky St. Clair, and the amateur cast of a corny small town musical
production go overboard when they hear that Mr. Guffman, representative of the prestigious New
York based Oppenheimer Organization, will be in attendance. This film was a suggestion from
my mentor, Ms. Hawkins, because it relates to many of the experiences I ve had in my third space.
For example, the cast have to go around town promoting the show in order to get people to... Show

It is tough to not be your biggest critic, but it is better to leave that job to others. Also, actors
should treat auditions like rehearsals, as if you already have the role and are going to rehearsal.
Apparently this is a commonly used tactic that many actors use to keep calm in an audition
setting. Another tip was that if you risk failure, you can make truthful discoveries about yourself
or a character. Failures become the struggles that lead to success; the word, failure, carries more
weight than it should, and most failures are actually setbacks. The only time you truly fail is
when you quit because you become incapable of success. The final piece of advice that I found
helpful was to find other creative outlets. In a field like acting, the majority of the job is going to
auditions and waiting. Therefore, it becomes imperative that you find ways to use your creativity,
rather than waiting around for someone to give you a part. Writing your own material can
showcase yourself well, especially if you do not have representation. It is ok to get a little lost, to
ask yourself deep questions, and to not have all the answers. What matters most is that you never

Theme Of The Book Holes
Have you ever been accused of doing something you certainly didn t do? Have you ever had that
feeling that no matter how good you are and how hard you try to not mess up things just turn out?
Have you ever felt as if you were accident prone or if it was just pure bad luck?Well that s what
Stanley Yelnats felt since that was what actually happened in the book Holesby Louis Sachar. There
is a lot to this book, such as themes, characters, and quite a few different locations. The main theme
of this story, Holes, is growing up because, in this book Stanley learns a lot; he has a lot of
ambition, and he shows a ton of responsibility for his own actions, but also for others as well,
whether it will get him into some trouble or not. Stanley learns... Show more content on

He takes this trait and uses it. He shows it often because in the book he learns that not all his
unlucky events are due to his no good dirty rotten pig stealing great great grandfather s curse.
Stanley shows responsibility for his own actions and at one point others actions. So, tell me
Caveman, said Mr.Sir. How did my sack of sunflower seeds get in your hole? I stole it from your
trunk, Stanley answered.
(Sachar, 56)
This quote was chosen because Stanley says that he took the seed but really he was just
covering to make friends. Another example is when he tries to find Zero and attempts to steal
Mr.Sir s truck. In the moment he gets caught he realized that it was his fault that he got caught
and not his no good dirty rotten pig stealing great great grandfather s curse that had been set on
the family. In conclusion this book represents the theme of growing up because the main
character shows three of the characterististics of the theme I chose. These include learning,
ambition, and responsibility. Stanley learns a ton while at Camp Green Lake. He also shows lots
of ambition and displays many forms of responsibility. This book follows a great storyline, as well
as one about how the camp used to be. The story also includes many characters with different
personalities and could display way more than just one main

Cause Of Government Failure
Government failures is said to be the loss resulting from government intervention in the
marketplace. The failure is an outcome of policies that are used to regulate trade which create
systemic inefficiencies and economic costs that adversely affect a product s manufacture and sales.
It is basically is an economic concept, similar to market failure, but it is more damaging.
Governmentfailure occurs when a ruler forces people to do things that the people are otherwise
unwilling to do and the results are inefficient and ineffective for the society.
Each country has its own flow of things from the president to the federal and public administrators.
The flow chart of Pakistan represents that there is democratic government which is obviously being

The estimated social benefits of a particular policy might be largely effected by the administrative
costs of introducing it.
8 Tragedy of the Commons
Anything owned by the government has a tendency to be overused and under serviced. Private
ownership will protect the asset better and will manage its use better. And hence, it will cause a
huge government failure.
9 Legislation Process
Another major cause of government failure is the legislative process itself, since it allows
legislators to insert preferential items into large complex bills where other representatives are
forced to either vote for or against the bill as a whole. Legislators cannot approve the bill without
also approving the line items, so if the overall bill is desirable, then legislators will probably
approve the bill in spite of the objectionable line items.
10 Corruption:
In most of the developing countries, either the govt. or the officials of government tried to corrupt
with the society and hence prove the inequality between other people. This cause the government
failure and the society fairness vanish away.

These activities often involve speed, height, high level of physical exertion, highly specialized gear or spectacular stunts. At present date, there are no careful studies or statistics of deaths to separate activities with low or normal level of danger from those with high level of danger. While use of the term extreme sport has spread far and wide to describe a multitude of different activities, exactly which sports are considered extreme is debatable. There are however several characteristics common to most extreme sports. Extreme sports tend to be more solitary... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, their marketing ideas add to that because of the number of fans who attend the actual events. As the Journal of Sport Management (2006) explains, Generation X and Generation Y are the two most highly valued by marketers. This creates a broad approach on marketing towards that certain demographic, which is why the Winter X Games marketing and economic outlook is so out of the box . The Winter X Games inaugural year, 1997, was televised to 198 countries and 38,000 spectators attended the actual four day event. In 1998, the attendance dropped to 25,000 spectators. But just two years later, a record attendance of 83,500 people attended the Winter X Games east coast debut. The Games continue to grow thanks to certain marketing plans such as The Interactive Village, Musical Line Ups, and the Snowskate Park. 2.2. As I was taking classes I had defining moments where I could clearly see my career direction moving forward. I have become more conscious about the importance of pursuing high quality continuing education courses and professional development opportunities, beneficial not only to me, but to the over ninety therapists working at our practice and the 20+ Level II students coming for their clinical internships at our agency every year. To achieve this goal, I will be working closely with the University of Central Florida DPT program in small research studies involving children and families in our practice. Currently, two grants requests have been submitted pursuing funds for research activities. My goal is to tap into one to four grant opportunities per year to expand our investigative initiatives program. As part of my professional growth, effective this upcoming summer, I also would like to enhance an existing program at our therapy practice where we discuss research articles. Part of the enhancement plan includes not only sharing the articles but evaluating and critiquing them. One critical appraisal tool under consideration to be used at our agency for that purpose is the Center for Evidence Based Medicine Critical Appraisal Worksheets (2017). In a cross sectional study performed by Kamwendo and Tornquist (2001) discussing the perceptions of OT and PT students in Sweden toward research related activities, results showed students using problem based learning are more inclined to engage in investigative and experimentation studies. • 5. Prohibition Negative Effects Prohibition was the nationwide ban of making, transporting, selling, and buying alcoholic drinks from 1920 to 1933 in the United States. Because of this ban many people turned to illegal activity to satisfy their alcoholic temptations. So the real question to ask is, did Prohibition have a positive or a negative effect on our country? There are many ways that Prohibition had negative a effect on our country. Research shows that prohibition caused many people to become criminals, lose their jobs, businesses to shut down, and caused the government to lose significant amount of tax money. When the law first went into effect, people thought sales of clothing and household goods would go up dramatically. Real estate developers and landlords expected rents to... Not only did distributors lose their jobs but craftsmen like barrel makers, truckers, and others as well. One of the most negative effects of prohibition was the loss of revenue for the government. Many American states relied on the tax of liquor sales to fund their budgets. For example almost 75% of New York`s state revenue came from liquor sales. With the new prohibition law the Federal Government lost an estimated total of $11 billion dollars, while costing them another $300 million to enforce it. Now the government would have to rely on federal income tax to fund budgets moving ahead. Prohibition also has had many direct impacts on the American citizens. Many police officers and prohibition agents frequently were tempted by bribes or the opportunity to go into bootlegging. Many stayed honest, but many also gave in. With alcohol now being illegal, the growth of the illegal liquor trade under Prohibition made criminals of millions of Americans. The Consequence of Communication Failure Essay uereTimothy Sherrell Professor Bunting ENC 1102 Sec. 176 14 July 2012 The Consequence of Communication Failure A Review of Two Historical Events The Consequence of Communication Failure Introduction In the history and evolution of professional communication practices, there are several instances that have greatly impacted our understanding of the necessity for clear and effective technical communication. Few, however, have had such eye opening impact that they continue to be discussed decades after their occurrence. Two such incidents to have reached this height are concerning the Three Mile Island nuclear plant and the Challenger shuttle launch. (Martha Cooper. Three Mile Island. 1979. The Washington Post. Hallman, manager of Plant Performance Services at TMI, he relays the concerns of B.M. Dunn. A problem with the practices and procedures of the Three Mile Island nuclear plant is addressed. Dunn is the manager of the Emergency Core Cooling System Analysis department of Babcock amp; Wilcox (B amp;W), the same company that designed the nuclear reactor for the Three Mile Island power plant. (Mathes) Short, Sweet, and to the Point? Quite frankly, this memo leaves much to be desired, given the weight of the situation. In its entirety, it is a few brief paragraphs addressing the situation and a few questions that need to be answered promptly. It is somewhat formal yet lacks the urgency in tone necessary to move the reader to action. There are, however, some references attached that provide the information in more detail. These attachments aside, Hallman seems to have minimal concern for the efficiency of the actions required. (Hallman) Upon some background research, it is clearly seen that Hallman was not the proper person for Dunn to contact with such vital information. For a decision such as this one, the concerns should have been sent to another department, one with the authority, ability and experiential knowledge to understand the gravity of the situation. Can one blame Hallman for not knowing? Could it be that he was aware of the proper destination of such information and failed to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Essay on Ap Bio Plants 1.) Roots support photosynthesis and respiration by absorbing minerals and water and by storing organic nutrients. They also anchor the plant. Some roots have mycorrhizae, which increase the surface area and therefore increase the absorption. The endodermis, which is the innermost layer of cells in the root cortex, surrounds the vascular cylinder. It is the passage of minerals from the cortex into the vascular tissue. The stem has a system of nodes where leaves are attached. They have a waxy coating (epidermis) that prevents water loss. The stem and the roots are the 2 main axes in a vascular plant. They have vascular tissues for long distance transport like the xylem and phloem. Additionally there is a way for plants to reproduce without requiring water. Another reason is secondary growth with the vascular cambium. The stem or root will grow in diameter and will be thickened, reducing water loss and protecting the surface more fully. The different plant tissues (dermal tissues, vascular tissue and ground tissues) are adoptions as well. 4.) Water flows from high water potential to low water potential. They have three routes for that: the transmembrane route (out of one cell, across a cell wall and into another cell), the symplastic route (via the continuum of cytosol) and the apoplastic route (via cell walls and extracellular spaces). Roots are another way for water uptake and transport (example: mycorrhizae and endodermis). This transport is regulated by the compartmental structure of plants. The concept of transpiration is made possible through adhesion and cohesion. 5.) The plant is required to be able to work at the molecular level, because (as only of many examples) it needs sucrose. Proton pumping and the cotransport of sucrose and H+ are two of the ways for a plant to get its required amounts of sucrose. The plant is also in need of nitrogen for its organic synthesis. It can acquire that by nitrogen fixing bacteria that convert atmospheric N2 to nitrogenous minerals. 6.) An example for an organ is the tuber or bulb. They ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. All Human Beings Possess A Basic Understanding Of Love All human beings possess a basic understanding of love and are able to express love through verbalizations, emotions, gestures, or other acts of kindness; however, the condition of the human heart is tainted by sin and so is love in terms of humanity. Thus, human beings are unable to understand and comprehend love s truest form which is found in the embodiment God s being. God s love is communicated to mankind through the covenants, the wonders of creation, the personhood of JesusChrist, and the power of the Holy Spiritwho subsequently seals God s offer of salvation through the atoning death of Jesus Christ. Hence, with all the confusion and mystery that surrounds the Trinity, it becomes difficult to understand how each member of the Trinity shares in the attribute of God s love. Without the Trinity, human beings cannot appreciate the attribute of God s love. Thus, God reveals His attribute of love through Jesus Christ (John 3:16) while Jesus displays the attribute of God s love through the crucifixion (John 15:13), and the Holy Spirit makes the attribute known through the regeneration (Titus 3:5) of the believer (Dockery, 1992). Furthermore, love itself is in triunity; hence, there must be the lover, the love, and the loved (Conner, 1980, p. 53). In the Godhead, the attribute of God s love finds a perfect expression (Matthew 3:16; John 14:31) in the triunity of the Father who is the lover, the Son who is the loved, and the Holy Spirit who is love (Conner, 1980, p. 53). Thus, the Father who so loved (John 3:16) gave the Son his love (Colossians 1:13) and the love of the Spirit (Romans 15:30; Galatians 5:22) which is expressed to mankind not only in creation but in redemption where the invisible is made visible (Conner, 1980). Adding to the complexity of God s love is the fact that the attribute of God s love is not easily seen in the Holy Spirit as the Holy Spirit never truly reveals Himself to human consciousness; hence, the ... (Wagner, 2009) Some communities experienced diarrhea, caused by a variety of parasites, viruses, and bacteria that infect people as a result of contaminated drinking water or poor hygiene. In India, more than 500,000 children die from diarrhea every year. Lack of Prenatal and Postnatal Education Breastfeeding is the single most effective nutritional strategy for protecting infants against infections and diseases. Three mechanisms have been proposed by which human milk constituents protect the infant from infection. Two are based on the immunologic constituents of human milk and the third is its high nutrient value. Low end here specifically means that ARM Cortex A7 has lower performance in terms of DMIPS/MHz compared to performance of Freescale MPC8270 used in processor module of ABB AC 800M. This instinctively implies that these emulations can be potentially considered for integrating legacy applications built for ABB AC 450 using Motorola 68040 into modern ABB AC 800M based on a high end processor MPC8270. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The conquistadors defeated the warriors of the Mexica empire due to a number of reasons that not only pertain to the weapons they possessed. Interestingly enough, all the steel and horses contributed to the physical aspect of war but on a psycho social level, it was the Aztecs varying conception of warfare that led to Spanish victory. Conquistadors were taught to fight to the death and move on to the next one while the Aztecs would focus a large amount of energy to capturing and taking prisoners (Brandt). Whether it was for personal reasons or the desire for human sacrifice, this concept impeded their chances of winning battles. Isolation can be noted as a small factor as well since the Aztecs kept their empire confined to the continent and never branched out to discover new technology. The Spanish on the other hand had a very strong background in exploration with ties to naval and advanced military tactics. The leading causes of death in horses are old age, colic, and injury. Following the first three are diseases. If your horsegets into an accident and hurts itself a veterinarian needs to be contacted immediately. When a horse colics it has extreme abdominal pain. Learning can take place in many different forms (reading, writing, speaking, listening, excellency in a particular skill, etc.) and settings, generalizing from one content area to another. It also occurs at varying rates across a diverse spectrum of populations and can be influenced by any number of factors including personalities, perceived abilities, societal values and environment. Some individuals acquire information best in formal settings, like the direct instruction or supports found in a classroom, while others may benefit more from informal instruction, learning incidentally from their surroundings. Throughout the course of history, there have been many perspectives regarding education and the manner in which individuals learn best. I will primarily focus on the educational perspective of the Social Learning Theoryand briefly discuss its history as well as its prominent figures, components, and implications in regard to language and literacy both inside and outside of the classroom. In 1954 Julian B. Rotter developed the Social Learning Theory that gravitated away from Freud s psychoanalysis and Skinner s behaviorism that focused on behavior rather than intrinsic thought. Meridian is a woman with endless thoughts and questions that she neglects to voice or ask. The root of Meridian s resistant manner stems from the uncomfortable power struggle she has with men, like Truman, because of the expectations of women in the sixties. Men were placed above women and women s opinions were deemed irrelevant. The author s usage of third person omniscient reveals Meridian s subconscious thoughts during moments where her voice is overpowered by a male character. These speeches occurred right after Caesar s assassination. Brutus spoke first, then left. Marc Antony gave a speech following his, with his own unique tactics. It was the combination of these two speeches that resulted in the resolution of the play. As I have previously stated, Brutus was the first to speak. He spun a beautiful tale, using logos as his primary form of persuasion. He said things such as, Not that I loved Caesar less, but that I loved Rome more. I was never that interested in any beliefof God, let alone any interest in superstition. I always thought that my religious beliefs tied to my cultural background. Growing up as a second generation of Filipino heritage, life without Christ was looked upon as unbearable, and less motivating to do things in life. It is as if Filipinos needed to breathe with the motivation of God, and become heavily influenced by applying Catholicism to its culture. However, the question about why people believe in religionand superstition is still a mystery to this day. I conducted an interview with a good friend of mine named Andrei. Andrei values humbleness, and during my interview with him, he reminisces about the times when he was a little boy, he and his grandmother would constantly go to the Christian Orthodox Church to pray. When I came to the question about what he thought about the idea of the significance of religion as well as superstition, he answered, Whatever you believe in comes from within yourself. (Vlad. Personal Interview. 19 September 2017). In some ways, I think that Andrei truly did have a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Texas History Voting Texas Voting History The Lone Star State: Reliably Republican Leslie C. Lee Liberty University Abstract In 2012 President Obama spoke to a group of people at a fund raiser event in Texas and seemed optimistic that Texas would soon be a battleground for the Democratic Party (Parker, 2013). Unless Democrats possess an extraordinary strategic plan this could prove to be a challenging task to accomplish. Recent voting in Texas has faithfully been favorable toward the Republican ticket for over 30 years (Parker, 2013). There has been a widespread margin in the percentage of votes between Republican and Democratic candidates in the last four presidential elections. Currently Republicans occupy all elected statewide offices, both state ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the most recent 2012 presidential election; Romney (R) received 57.2 % while Obama (D) received 41.4% (Texas Political Almanac, 2013). It is important to note that Although the two major national parties have dominated electoral politics in the state; Texas also has spawned significant third parties that have affected national politics (Texas Politics, 2013). The Reform party, founded by billionaire Ross Perot in the 1990 s, has gained support with a small number of Texas voters. The Libertarian and Green Parties have experienced growth in Texas (Texas Politics, 2013). The candidates from these parties have affected races statewide by almost 20%. In the 2012 presidential election both the Libertarian and Green Party qualified for the 2012 ballot and resulted in receiving almost 2% of the Texas vote (Texas Politics, 2013). However, in the 2012 elections, Republicans reigned in victory with the Democrats only able to gain a few seats. In the 2013 legislative session, Democrats sit in 55 seats in relation to the 95 seats held by Republicans (Texas Politics, 2013). United States Senator John Cornyn Senator John Cornyn has been in public office for 28 years. • 40. An Definition Of Domestic Violence Essay The definition of domestic violence, or intimate partner violence, is a multiple or single incidence of abusive behavior that uses oppression, threats, isolation, and fear that often results in psychological and/or emotional trauma. Intimate partner violence is not a specific gender issue; a common assumption is that victims of abusive relationships are only women, which is a false belief. According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, 1 in 4 men have experience some type of psychological and/or physical violence by their partner (2014). Partner abuse, or domestic violence is a big social problem in the United States. Alone in Texas, the NCADV reported that there were 76,704 victims of abuse by current or former spouses. They also reported 114 Texan women were killed by their partners. This is more than 10% of the national total (2015). No matter the age, gender or race, everyone is exposed to this threat. A recent report by the NCADV also reveals that 75% of Texans ranging from 16 to 24 year olds have experienced violence by their partners, or know someone (2015). This is definitely a scary high number. Another common assumption is that it is only the victims the ones who suffer. This is not exactly true. Child AbuseNeglect written by Stephanie Holt, Helen Buckley and Sadhbh finds that, children and adolescents living with domestic violence are at increased risk of experiencing emotional, physical and sexual abuse, of developing emotional and behavioral ... • 41. The Namesake By Jhumpa Lahiri Cultural Identity Cultural Identity is the framework that shapes who one is, as a person. It helps one to sustain self identity and belonging anywhere in society. Although it might be transformed over time, it is the way people undergo adversity. This sense of cultural identity is portrayed through the character, Ashima Ganguli, who was ordained to reshape her identitywhen she migrated to America with her husband, Ashoke. This move to America specifically Boston, allowed Ashima to be faced with tribulations within herself. Ashima is characterized as a hesitant migrant who did not understand how to deal with her situation (Lahiri Roy). Throughout the text of The Namesake, Jhumpa Lahiri develops the character of Ashima Ganguli to shed light on the progression... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ashima s only exception to the American South Asia lives within her children, when she chooses not to protest against her son Gogol s relationships. They ve even gone so far as to point out examples of Bengali men they know who ve married Americans, marriages that have ended in divorce (Lahiri 117). Ashima and Ashoke have a completely different outlook of love and marriage than Gogol. They see love as something tied to marriage, but Gogol is not even interested in that stuff. It is clearly inferred that Ashima and Ashoke have the old frame of thinking when it comes to marriage. It is not seen till later where Ashima is accepting of her daughter Sonia s relationship with an American. This acceptance of her daughter s relationship shoes he willingness to accept others who do not always meet her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Waiting For Guffman These past two weeks, while the theatre has been relatively calm, I chose three different pieces of media in order to delve further into my theater knowledge. The first of which is Waiting for Guffman , a mockumentary on the beginning of a theater company in Blaine, Missouri. The town s resident director, Corky St. Clair, and the amateur cast of a corny small town musical production go overboard when they hear that Mr. Guffman, representative of the prestigious New York based Oppenheimer Organization, will be in attendance. This film was a suggestion from my mentor, Ms. Hawkins, because it relates to many of the experiences I ve had in my third space. For example, the cast have to go around town promoting the show in order to get people to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is tough to not be your biggest critic, but it is better to leave that job to others. Also, actors should treat auditions like rehearsals, as if you already have the role and are going to rehearsal. Apparently this is a commonly used tactic that many actors use to keep calm in an audition setting. Another tip was that if you risk failure, you can make truthful discoveries about yourself or a character. Failures become the struggles that lead to success; the word, failure, carries more weight than it should, and most failures are actually setbacks. The only time you truly fail is when you quit because you become incapable of success. The final piece of advice that I found helpful was to find other creative outlets. In a field like acting, the majority of the job is going to auditions and waiting. Therefore, it becomes imperative that you find ways to use your creativity, rather than waiting around for someone to give you a part. Writing your own material can showcase yourself well, especially if you do not have representation. It is ok to get a little lost, to ask yourself deep questions, and to not have all the answers. What matters most is that you never lose sight of your ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Theme Of The Book Holes Have you ever been accused of doing something you certainly didn t do? Have you ever had that feeling that no matter how good you are and how hard you try to not mess up things just turn out? Have you ever felt as if you were accident prone or if it was just pure bad luck?Well that s what Stanley Yelnats felt since that was what actually happened in the book Holesby Louis Sachar. There is a lot to this book, such as themes, characters, and quite a few different locations. The main theme of this story, Holes, is growing up because, in this book Stanley learns a lot; he has a lot of ambition, and he shows a ton of responsibility for his own actions, but also for others as well, whether it will get him into some trouble or not. Stanley learns... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He takes this trait and uses it. He shows it often because in the book he learns that not all his unlucky events are due to his no good dirty rotten pig stealing great great grandfather s curse. Stanley shows responsibility for his own actions and at one point others actions. So, tell me Caveman, said Mr.Sir. How did my sack of sunflower seeds get in your hole? I stole it from your trunk, Stanley answered. (Sachar, 56) This quote was chosen because Stanley says that he took the seed but really he was just covering to make friends. Another example is when he tries to find Zero and attempts to steal Mr.Sir s truck. In the moment he gets caught he realized that it was his fault that he got caught and not his no good dirty rotten pig stealing great great grandfather s curse that had been set on the family. In conclusion this book represents the theme of growing up because the main character shows three of the characterististics of the theme I chose. These include learning, ambition, and responsibility. Stanley learns a ton while at Camp Green Lake. He also shows lots of ambition and displays many forms of responsibility. This book follows a great storyline, as well as one about how the camp used to be. The story also includes many characters with different personalities and could display way more than just one main ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Cause Of Government Failure Government failures is said to be the loss resulting from government intervention in the marketplace. The failure is an outcome of policies that are used to regulate trade which create systemic inefficiencies and economic costs that adversely affect a product s manufacture and sales. It is basically is an economic concept, similar to market failure, but it is more damaging. Governmentfailure occurs when a ruler forces people to do things that the people are otherwise unwilling to do and the results are inefficient and ineffective for the society. The estimated social benefits of a particular policy might be largely effected by the administrative costs of introducing it. 8 Tragedy of the Commons Anything owned by the government has a tendency to be overused and under serviced. Private ownership will protect the asset better and will manage its use better. And hence, it will cause a huge government failure. 9 Legislation Process Another major cause of government failure is the legislative process itself, since it allows legislators to insert preferential items into large complex bills where other representatives are forced to either vote for or against the bill as a whole. Legislators cannot approve the bill without also approving the line items, so if the overall bill is desirable, then legislators will probably approve the bill in spite of the objectionable line items. 10 Corruption: In most of the developing countries, either the govt. or the officials of government tried to corrupt with the society and hence prove the inequality between other people.
