The Justification Of The Nsa Unlawful Spying Activities
The justifications provided for the leakage of the NSA unlawful spying activities also support the
argument that Snowman s act was permissible. For instance, Snowden justifies his act by stating that
he relied on the U.S Constitution, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as well as the 1945
Nuremberg declaration. He provides his explanation for his shift from the his earlier held philosophy
of nationalism by noting that people have an international duty that surpasses their national
obligations of loyalty, (Scheuerman, 2014). He further expounds that sometimes national loyalty leads
to national relativism whereby people overlook their country s evils, instead preferring to focus on
distant and external evils.
Generally, intelligence systems are extensively concealed, which exposes them to potential abuse by
those in charge. This results in abuse of human rights such as privacy rights that is detrimental to the
very security that such systems ought to safeguard. As such, blowing the whistle on such activities can
be an effective mechanism of exposing the ills that characterize intelligence systems. Furthermore,
Scheurman (2014) argues that a requirement for whistleblower identity disclosure as proposed in
Sagar s framework enhances their opportunity to fulfill their obligations to justify their actions. They
further state that whistleblower identity disclosure demonstrates civic mindedness. In addition, the
disclosure of the whistle blower s identity helps to prevent

Causes Of Poverty In Honduras
Living a life in Honduras is dreadful because research has shown that in 2016, 66 percent of the
population of Honduras lived in poverty according to official data. Honduras also has one of the
highest murder rates in the world, and the homicide rate in 2016 was 59 per 100,000. Which means
that every 100,000 people living in Honduras 59 Hondurans will die every year. The numbers of the
homicide rate in Honduras is ten times higher than global averages, and it is also 12 times higher than
United States averages. One of the factors that breed crime is poverty because in Honduras there are
limited jobs, as well as, inadequate wages, as a consequence, those workers don t have enough money
to buy food for the entire family. Therefore those people join crime organizations to be able to feed
their family by taking from others. After researching various articles, I found out that the one who is
responsible for all the chaos that is happening in Honduras is the government of Honduras. The
government of Honduras is a problem for the country because within the government there is political
corruption. Since the corrupt politicians are abusing their power for evil it s having a negative impact
for the people who are living in Honduras. Numerous people don t know this, but, it s common to see
corrupt leaders working for the government in Central America countries such as Honduras.

Drop the Comparisons
This is a huge one and should be considered from day one. If you re taking a beginning yoga class
there is a big possibility you ll inadvertently end up comparing yourself to others in your class.
Some common thoughts that might make their way into your mind...Is her downward dog better than
mine? Why can t I touch my feet like the person next to me? Am I even doing this right?!?
Yoga is a deeply personal practice and comparing yourself to others offers no benefit whatsoever.
Remember that you are exactly where you need to be and everything you re doing on your mat is
perfect. So what if you can t touch your toes yet? The only thing that matters is that you re on your
mat and have made the commitment to dedicate this time to your own beautiful self.
6. Embrace the Journey
Yes, yoga is a journey and can open up a deeper connection with mind and body than you ever thought
possible. Embrace the challenges and remember just how amazingly beneficial this practice is.
Be open to the emotions and physical challenges you re likely to confront. You re doing something
completely new to you and even if your mind seems to be everywhere but on your mat, accept this.
You are where you are and yes, you are doing it

The Effects of Fracking on the Environment Essay
While it is true fracking , a procedure to obtain natural gas removal from shale formations, it is also
true there have been infrastructure security issues associated with this practice. Furthermore, there
have been ecological considerations from fracking brought to the forefront by countless
environmentalists. Indeed, hydraulic fracturing, as it is referred to, is a process by which shale gas and
oil is uprooted from a depth far below the earth s exterior. The process of extracting shale gas and oil
is employed aggressively while water is forced deep beneath the earth surface through a geological
arrangement. From this arrangement, oil and gas is exerted back to the earth s surface. Moreover, once
the hydraulic fracturing process is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Where this agreement usually ends, however, is with the question of quality control refining processes
from my viewpoint. Anotherwords, what control measures are enforced to ensure all contaminants are
entirely removed to guarantee a high level of quality assurance and security of the petroleum sectors
within the nation s infrastructures? Are there residual contaminants affecting the quality of fuel
supplied to the nation s energy consumers? From a preceding viewpoint, it can be related to the
Colorado Floods that occurred in September 2013. Even the prevailing thought of hazardous waste
introduced to the Colorado geographical landscape does not eliminate the second and third order
affects imposed on the nation s petroleum pipeline infrastructure by way of corrosion, introducing
chemicals into the pipeline arteries through small cracks that may extend beyond Colorado, an
implication that cannot be ruled out. Water contamination prevention or across the board programs
from the negative effect of hydraulic fracturing should be an expectation from petroleum energy
producers. Moreover, it reminds us of an infrastructure security vulnerability, which is not often
specified, when hydraulic fracturing is correlated to the role water functions through the conventional
petroleum refining process, along with vast arrays of petroleum pipelines that exist across the nation s
geographical landscapes. These concerns should be brought

Argumentative Essay On Children And Poverty
Children make up 23.1 percent of the U.S. population and they disproportionately experience poverty
in the U.S. compared to other age groups and California is one of the states with the highest child
poverty rates. Child poverty has profound educational, health and economic consequences now and in
the long term not only for individual children but also for the entire nation.
In order to create an efficient and long lasting policy agenda, one requires an understanding of 1) the
nature of the poverty problem, 2) current evidence of what constitutes proven and 3) strategies to
promote fiscal sustainability.
According to The California Poverty Measure (CPM), a joint research effort by PPIC and the Stanford

King Creon In Sophocles Antigone
While reading the Greek play Antigone , written by the playwright Sophocles, one sees that a few of
the characters can be related back to the reader/watcher of the play. For instance, many people can
identify with the protagonist Antigone through her incomparable dedication in following the laws of
beings of greater power. Others might identify with the wise Tiresias, whose wisdom and advice is
given and taught across the land. However, for a fifteen year old boy such as I, I identify the most with
the antagonist of the play, King Creon. The way that Creon manages his problems, very reminiscent to
the way that many deal with the situations that they face in their lives; how he lets his anger and pride

To be able to speak confidently and know what you are talking about is one of the most important
abilities that one needs to convince others to join their cause. Just as King Creon did in his reign over
Thebes, I am able to use my words to the fullest. To cite the play that we had read in class, Creon says:
Polyneices, who broke his exile to come back with fire and sword against his native city and the
shrines of his father s gods, whose one idea was to spill the blood of his blood and sell his own people
into slavery (1, 34 37). When one reads Antigone without first reading the plays Oedipus and Oedipus
at Colonus, what Creon says isn t all that strange. Even so, if one has looked through the first two
plays, one realizes that Creon has used his words to completely change the way that Polyneices is
viewed by the townsfolk. Creon was able to use his words to persuade others into believing that one of
the sons of their old king was attacking Thebes to deface their gods and sell all of them into slavery. In
this sense of character, Creon and I are homogenous beings. Identical to Creon, I can wrap people
around my fingers via my words; a blessed few are able to completely resist my

The Effects Of Video Advertisements On Society Essay
Introduction
Video advertisements are quick and momentary but their influence is pervasive and prolonged. The
power of video advertisements shape norms and common societal expectations on how a person
should look and behave. Overtime these gender roles (societal expectations associated with men and
women) and behaviors become implicit thus implying normal (or in some instances ideal) men and
women should exhibit these qualities and characteristics. Subconsciously, video advertisements
impact a person s perception of what it means and what it takes to be a man or woman. The objective
of this paper is to observe secondary socialization, ...learning behaviors and attitudes associated with
specific situations and roles... , in YouTube video advertisements by comparing recurring patterns,
symbols, statuses, and roles directed to men and women (Lecture Notes Nalkur 7). In addition, this
paper seeks to explain how YouTube video advertisements act as socializing agents by portraying
arguably exaggerated yet stereotypical traits of men and women that influence watchers perceptions
and beliefs about their own gender identity and that of others.
Methods
The approach of this study was to obtain a total of eight YouTube video advertisements. Four of which
focus on women/women s products and the other four video advertisements focus on men/men s
products. The YouTube video advertisements were obtained randomly by watching the YouTube
channels I normally visit. All video ads were obtained

The Construction Of The Parthenon In Athens, Greece
The Parthenon is located in Athens,Greece. It was constructed approximately in 447 BC and
completed around 432 BC as a temple dedicated to the Goddess Athena., which the original one was
destroyed in Persian Invasion of 480 BC. The Parthenon was used primarily as a treasury. In the sixth
century AD, it was converted into a Christian church, dedicated to the Virgin Mary. During the
Ottoman conquest it became a Mosque which was around 1460 s. The Parthenon was partially
destroyed in 1687.
The architects were Iktinos and Kallikrates with a mention of Vitruv and dedicated to the Goddess
Athena Pallas or Parthenos (virgin). It s main function was to house the statues of Athena which were
made of gold and ivory by Phedias. The inner chamber was unusually large so it could house the
oversized statue of Athena. The greater width and length of the Parthenon features double decked
columns instead of walls. The back room sheltered Athena s treasure. ... Show more content on

Mass Media On Teenagers
The media has a strong influence on teenagers since they are mentally vulnerable and have access to
various media especially visual and social. It is imperative for parents to filter the content that
teenagers have access. This paper seeks to find out the effects of media on teenagers. Mass media has
both negative and positive influences, and I strive to prove this claim.
Online media and television have given teenagers access to health education on various diseases such
as STDs, acne, and depression. The programs help the adolescents to dispel any myths about health
care. Health organizations such as MayoClinic have confidential sites where teenagers are given a
platform to ask any question without being judged. Youths who suffer from chronic conditions such as
diabetes, asthma and skin ailments can join networks that provide support and the best method to
handle their health.
Television also has the potential to create negative and positive impacts. Although not all television
programs are immoral, data has shown that the majority have scenes of violence, offensive language,
and inappropriate sexuality. Such series include Empire, where the main character deals with drugs,
violence and sex. Another show is Game of Thrones where the characters portray gory battle scene,
foul language and sexual scenes. Television has also been shown to take teens away from their reading
and studying time since they become addicted to the programs they watch (Osama 94).
Television occupies time for exercises and other physical activities from teenagers. Youths who binge
watch television are more likely to consume junk foods and snacks that contain high calorie intake.
Since these calories are not being burned physically, there is a higher chance that these teenagers will
end up being obese. Advertised foods have been shown to contain fats that surpass the recommended
limit by nutritionists. The number of hours spent watching programs on television is related to an
increased chance of cholesterol levels in teens. Eating disorders, especially in female teens, have been
fueled by the images seen on television of thin models or characters in TV programs who have lost
weight due to unconventional ways.

Examples Of Foreshadowing In The Nightmare By Sherman Alexie
In this quote, Alexie uses foreshadowing as a literary device. Flashbacks show what is important in the
past and how it reflects the future. While Thomas and Victor were/are kids they got into a fight and
stopped talking. Now Thomas is helping Victor. Although this is a flashback, it may also be
interpreted as a hint of Victor and Thomas being friends again and help each other. Alexie is trying to
tell his readers, even though you may have fought in the past, that doesn t mean you need to not care
for each other. I really like this idea because I believe it is what everyone should do. Be there for them.
If I were Victor, at this point I would say sorry to Thomas for not talking to him and be better friends
with him that they were before. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I really like this idea because it makes you pay attention and really understand the novel. Alexie uses
allegory in the quote demonstrating how James s voice acts as a savior. He refers to his voice to a
thick rug to save even the most beautiful and delicate things. I believe the author uses this to show that
James may be about to help Victor or maybe be with his as a fallback just like how he caught the glass
with his voice. This also reflects off of the theme of being spiritual. Alexie might be trying to just
show how Indians really were or are. I really don t understand what is happening here because it
seems to be just a whole bunch of short stories that have very little to do anything with each other. I
really dislike this idea because it just makes the whole novel seem confusing and hard to understand.
In this quote, Alexie uses symbolic as the literary device. He says the black circle looks like a smoke
hole and that is used when there is a fire. Most people get hot when mad and need to vent. I believe
the studio is more of a venting ground than anything. The author may have put this here to symbolize
how relaxing or stress reliving the Indian tipis may be for some

The Building Blocks Of Learning
Emily Whitmer Rose Glasser EDTP 201 10/28/16 Ethnography: The Building Blocks of Learning I
remember my first day going to a school to observe. It felt more inquiring, rather than being obligated
to go to school just because I had to, like the state required us to. Ever since I have been given two
field placements, I have been increasingly interested in the teaching profession. My first field
placement has been an eye opener for all other rolls in a school. It has showed me just how important
other rolls are in a school, and how they can affect and tie into how a student does in a classroom.
Having two field placements has given me a new outlook on the classroom environment, curriculum,
and what goes on behind the scenes in the teaching profession. In my second field placement, which is
what this ethnography will evolve around, I was placed at Blue Lick Elementary School (right next to
Knight Middle School). Blue Lick Elementary School collaborates with Knight Middle School, to
ease the transition to 6th grade. This school is located in Heritage Creek, which is also close to my
first placement, Fairdale High School. The population in this neighborhood is low income. There are
480 students and the student teacher ratio is 16:1. Blue Lick Elementary School is a public co ed

Analysis Of Ethos, Pathos And Logos
While I had previously heard of Ethos, Pathos and Logos, I didn t have a clear understanding of the
effect each could have to an audience. Each rhetorical appeal can be useful when persuading an
audience, but the most effective use of each would be pathos. Think about a time when you believe
something to be true, you just felt it and when presented with actual evidenced that your beliefs were
incorrect it didn t sway your way of thinking. How many times have you seen a headline about a
crime of logic? We as humans are emotional creatures. I believe it to be impossible for us to make a
decision without emotion.
Being able to invoke people s emotions can open an easy gateway for ethos and logos. Once someone

Medicaid Managed Care addressed the issues and solved the problem? The answer is Yes and No .

(2) 17,382 children were enrolled in an enhanced access group (intervention group) and 26,066

results showed that the average per member per month cost of emergency room utilization of the

terms of per visit cost related to emergency room usage. Although the overall cost of healthcare
delivery has not increased the enrollment in traditional Medicaid fee for service product has increased

of single mothers that live in poverty, I have some of the same issues that these women in the study
had; mother, employee, and a college student. Their educational experiences often provide an
opportunity for disrupting negative expectations directed toward them and also symbolize for the
women the possibility of realizing the hopes and dreams they hold for themselves and their children,
says Haleman, I couldn t agree more with that statement. Being a single mother, a hard worker, and a
college student is not an easy task, but having my daughter grow up watching all my willpower on
completing my goals will show her that no one can hold me down except myself. Money makes the
world go round. There have been many studies showing that having a higher education will lead to a
higher paying job. Although I personally didn t go back to college to give myself the opportunity for a
higher paying job, that is a bonus. In Haleman s article she shows documentation by M. C.

The Well Paid Receptionist Case Analysis
The Well Paid Receptionist Case Analysis
Harvey hired the very qualified Cathy Brannen seven years ago for an annual salary of $14,000 and
the incentive of sales override of 2% of the total sales. Today, Harvey just realized that his secretary
has been living very comfortable with $127,614.21 this year. Harvey cannot believe the situation and
wants to address her salary, which he feels is inappropriate, but has not considered his contributions,
or lack of contributions, that has led to this outcome (Cohen Fink, 2001). A Bloated Salary and an
Oblivious Leader
Cathy has been making a significant amount for some time, refer to Table 1. There have been
significant raises each year and should have been caught by Harvey or the comptroller long before her
7 year anniversary. Why was there a lack of due diligence that allowed this to not be noticed more
promptly? Why were no complaints brought forward by other employees? Is this an isolated case or
other employees making significant salaries as well?
Cathy is making significantly more than Harvey s best salespersons and managers, almost as much as
Harvey and extremely higher than any receptionist s salary (Cohen Fink, 2001). The problem does not
lie with just overlooked financial, payroll documents but Harvey s lack of participation in the
financials of his business. When Harvey hired Cathy, he could not offer her requested salary, and even
made an offer that was 12% lower than her previous salary, but Harvey needed the

Pilgrim s Progress By John Bunyan
1) Pilgrim s Progress by John Bunyan is an infamous Christian allegory and wildly considered to be
the first great book of the non secular English language. After the Bible, it was the most read book for
centuries. Bunyan wrote it based on his largely Baptist, often Calvinist theology. This is evident in
Pilgrim s Progress through the name choices of the main characters and his conversation with
Ignorance regarding reaching the Celestial City. The major points which are total depravity,
unconditional election, limited atonement, irresistible grace, and perseverance of saints. Total
depravity states that all mean are inherently sinners, unconditional election entails that certain people
were predestined to receive God s grace no ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Christian tries to correct him and explain that there is only one way to the Celestial City, and his deeds
do not matter. Due to the doctrines of Predestination and Total Depravity, Christian is correct under
Calvinism. Since Ignorance is inherently a sinner, and not elect, he is unable to accept God s grace and
enter the Celestial City by means of his own path according to the concept of Total Depravity.
However, one way that Pilgrim s Progress contradicts Calvinist theory is when Christian is reading his
bible at the very beginning and confesses to his family that he is worried for their safety because fire
from Heaven will soon obliterate the city that they live in and he doesn t know how to save them. This
is contradictory to Calvinism because Christian should inherently know that he cannot. Since God has
preordained everything that will ever happen, Christian cannot save his family unless that was already
been in God s plan. Pilgrim s Progress largely exemplifies Calvinist ideology throughout the text with
each new character that Christian meats. Bunyan made his viewpoint very clear every everyone of his
literary decisions from what the characters shall be named to how they go about their journeys.
Although there are a few nuances that seem less than Calvinistic, such as Christian s worries at the
beginning, for the most part it stats true to the Calvin course.

MAC Mission Statement
This is a daunting question and I have had to think long and hard about how I can answer it with
examples of some of my best work. Throughout my professional life as an interpreter/guide/educator,
a site is typically defined as the location of a significant event and an event is defined as an important,
organized occurrence involving several people. This left me to determine what makes any particular
organized event significant. The answer was simple the event furthers the mission of my employer. It
is in this context that I present some of my experiences.
I held the position of Airport Tour Coordinator at the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) from
1987 to 1995. The wording of the MAC mission statement has changed over the years, but its
fundamental principle is to connect you to the world with the best airport experience in by operating a
safe and efficient system of airports .
1) In the 1990 s, the MAC hosted an annual, outdoor, two day family event called Airport Days at the
MSP International Airport which drew in tens of thousands ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

We made extensive use of our follow up evaluations and visitor surveys from previous years
extensively. Our goal was always threefold; to maximize our visitors experience, to promote the work
done by the MAC, and to simultaneously carry out the safe and efficient operation of one of America s
ten busiest airports. Once we had the elements and requirements mapped out, we began the massive
coordination of the 400 employees within the MAC departments, ranging from public safety to field
maintenance, and from airport operations to the painters, carpenters and electricians. Furthermore,
bringing that many people onto an active airfield also required close coordination with the Federal

Examples Of Stereotypes In Mean Girls
Mean Girls is a must see teenage movie. If you haven t seen it, you aren t fetch (a.k.a. cool). I
remember when I first saw the movie around age eight, and I believed girls and boys were exactly
how they were portrayed in the movie. I was sitting around with my best friends in our sleeping bags
giggling just like every other young girl would at a movie like this one. Though the acting is
exaggerated, it is effective in portraying the stereotypes of cliques among high schools through its
characters, actresses/actors, special effects, and costumes. It s one of those movies where it s so bad it
s good. The acting is meant to be terrible. For example, a dumb blonde known as Karen says, If you re
from Africa, why are you white? . This was a perfect role play of the stereotypical white, blonde chick.
The actress, Amanda Seyfried, completely captures the role with a dumbfounded expression.
However, blondes aren t always dumb. I know one girl who is absolutely genius and could say the
formula for every crazy scientific thing out there. If we look beyond this, though, and think way back
to elementary/middle school, most of us can agree we had the same stereotype of a dumb high school
blonde. As for Lindsay ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Never in my life have I ever seen a mom so nonchalant. She does not care about anything her daughter
does and is just as fake as Regina (except she also has a horrible boob job). Her ultimate goal is to

all about being rich and maintaining a high status material wise. When seeing this movie, you will
wish that you had her mom. If you want to drink, that s fine with her. If you want to have sex, go
ahead. She ll offer you a condom and love that you re happy. Despite how ridiculous this character
appears to be, the actress, Amy Poehler, does a fantastic job at helping fulfill the purpose of showing

Tip No. 3 Enforce effective bankroll management
New players all seem to think that success at an Internet based no deposit casino is only determined by
what you do at the tables. This way of thinking couldn t be more foolish, as there are certainly other
factors that come into play. Bankroll management is something that every player across the UK needs

that is profitable and is going to extend your game time. For example, if you have £100 in your bank

Comparing Marriage Proposals from Mr. Collins and Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice
The story of Pride and Prejudice revolves around a mother of five daughters, Mrs. Bennet, whose sole
purpose is to marry off her daughters to suitable men. Jane is the eldest out of the Bennet sisters. Jane
is the closest to Elizabeth from the rest of her sisters, this is because they stand on similar maturity
levels, and
Elizabeth is the second oldest.
The main theme of the novel is based on the importance of marriage. It is important because a woman
will have to marry a suitable man who can support her when her father passes away, it is equally
important to men because it is important for them to keep their social status, they will do ... Show

I will begin by analysing the way in which Mr Collins proposes to
Elizabeth. This started because he was at an age where he was expected to get married soon, and he
wanted to marry one of Mr Bennet s daughters. He was at first interested in Jane, but as soon as he
found out she may be getting together with Mr Bingley he backed off and moved onto Elizabeth Mr.
Collins had only to change from Jane to
Elizabeth and it was soon done done while Mrs. Bennet was stirring the fire. Elizabeth, equally next to
Jane in birth and beauty, succeeded her of course . The main reasons why Mr Collins wants to marry is
because he thinks it will make him happy, but more importantly, Lady Catherine de Bourgh has told
him he must do so. Mr
Collins s character shows he is not actually very interested in finding a wife whom he loves and has
real feelings for, he just wants one so he can say he is married. This is why he is not the ideal husband
for Elizabeth, because she wants to marry for love. Later on, after he is rejected by Elizabeth, Mr
Collins marries Charlotte Lucas.
They marry because it is obvious they can satisfy each others needs because Collins needs a wife to
present to Lady Catherine and
Charlotte is in danger of becoming an old maid because she was getting older, and if she didn t get
married soon, she may not have married at all. Their contract of marriage was based on absolutely no
physical attraction or

A Beautiful Love Story Essay
She stands at 5 6 tall; she has pretty blonde hair, with the most beautiful green eyes you will ever see!
Her smile, her smile still gives me butterflies in the pit of my stomach. She walks with such grace, and
she is not afraid to show or share her love for Christ! She does so much to make sure that I am more
than satisfied. She is an amazing mother to our beautiful 4 year old daughter. As you might have
figured out, that woman, she is my wife Amanda! I never thought we would be together; 4.5 years
later, we have a beautiful love story. Prior to meeting my wife, we had a mutual friend named
Whitney. Whitney showed Amanda a picture of me in an attempt to set us up on a date; Amanda
thought I was cute, however, she was afraid to reach out to me. I am not sure why, because, as far I am
concerned, she is the real catch. About one week later, Whitney told me that Amanda thought I was
cute, so naturally, my confidence just sky rockets! I felt good; I reached out to her, and gave her my
phone number. We texted back and forth a few times, but it only lasted for about one week. We both
just let time go by, and lost contact with each other. Then we reconnected, and the same exact thing
happened about a week later, we just up and quit talking again. We never quit talking because of an
argument or anything; we had really good conversations, we just would literally not text each other
after the last conversation ended. In Cleveland, TN we have a park called The Greenway. It is a

Essay on The Boy Who Would Be a Helicopter
Reflection On: The Boy Who Would Be A Helicopter By Vivian Gussin Paley (In the book, The Boy
Who Would Be A Helicopter, Vivian Gussin Paley discusses her experiences in her preschool
classroom with Jason, a boy who tends to isolate himself, and offers solutions on how other educators
can help students become well adjusted and active learners.) not sure to mention this..
I think this book gives us the opportunity to reflect on our roles in our students lives, as a general
classroom teacher and how we can best help our students develop into active learners and well
adjusted adults. Paley also made us think about how children s story and classroom community play a
significant role in helping children learn about themselves and ... Show more content on

In this storytelling process, Jason and his classmates actively engage in making their own stories and
extend them with their classmates. Jason s classmates made a lot of effort to incorporate Jason and his
helicopter in their shared story. I believe it is noteworthy to recognize how Paley is able to shift the
main focus in the classroom from the student teacher relationship to the student student relationship.
We found Paley s view on conflict resolution very interesting. She states: Problems are not meant to
be solved. They are ours to practice on, to explore the possibility with, to help us study cause and
effect. Important issues can t be solved with one grand plan...Some are worked at for a lifetime,
returning in different disguise, requiring fresh insights (p. 80) For children, play can be a powerful
medium in which to practice their problems and to freely enjoy the process of reaching a solution
Another strategy we found useful was Paley s use of make believe when dealing with misbehavior in
her classroom. She does not view misbehavior as bad, or something to be punished, rather, she
maintains that these behaviors are misreadings of a script in progress, something that is in need of
reworking. This means that each student can feel free to experience the trials and errors of their

The Battle Of The Attack Of Pharmaceutical Company
It s been nearly 2 weeks now and his family hadn t heard a word. Were they wrong? Did they not
understand the situation? Was this person not as important as they had believed him to be? He was
tired of waiting. They had practically destroyed his entire family. The start of the hostile takeover of
his parents pharmaceutical company was vicious and was only the beginning and had yet to stop or
slow down. One of their family members company after another were falling like flies near a bug
zapper and all anger was pointed at him. They had tried court injunctions to forestall the purchase of
stock and tried to use the assault charges they had as a not so subtle way of forcing his family to drop
the charges, but it was countered by asking for a court date to show cause for the attack. The attorneys
for their side was quick to point out the vicious and continue acts on his part which was the emotional
damage it had caused to his daughter that would give any father reason to think unreasonable. In other
words, there was no father who loved his daughter deeply wouldn t have done the same or worse.
They also pointed out that this same person just happens to be the same man who was still trying to
marry his daughter. They wanted an immediate ruling by a judge for their motion to have the whole
situation ruled a domestic disturbance. His attorney stressed strongly that if this were too happened the
best that would occur is a fine and a restraining order against her father.

Macbeth Dreams Visions and Hallucinations Rereading
The influence of Dreams, Visions and Hallucinations in Macbeth and other Literary Texts
The realities of the world affected me as visions, and as visions only, while the wild ideas of the land
of dreams became, in turn, not the material of my every day existence but in very deed that existence
utterly and solely in itself. Edgar Allan Poe Uncanny encounters with visions and hallucinations blur
the presumed constraints of time and space. The phantasms or sensory impressions incited by diurnal
experiences which are unrealized in normal consciousness, gets holistically unveiled through

Anderson describes choleric individuals as easily provoked, given to treachery, vehement in action;
fierce in assailing but inconstant in sustaining assault; inclined to envy, pride, prodigality, and wrath.
In Act 1, Scene 5, Lady Macbeth is faced simultaneously with two revelations a letter from Macbeth
disclosing the witches prophecy of kingship and the news of King Duncan s arrival conveyed by a
messenger following which she delivers her famous soliloquy where she calls upon the familiar spirits
to change her temperament to choleric. Choler could be intrinsic, or the effects of astrology, diet or
even time of the day. With her desires that no compunctious visitings of nature thwart her purpose, she
unwittingly implies the cessation of her periodic menstrual flow and the murth ring ministers are
called upon to replace the nutritive fluid in her breasts with gall or choler. According to Malleus
Maleficarum, the Devil s power is greatest where human sexuality is concerned and all witchcraft
comes from carnal lust, which is in women insatiable , hence, the Weird Sisters who have been
unsexed themselves and are known to sport beards defeminises Lady Macbeth, turning her thus, into
the fourth witch. Since, she feels that her husband is too full of the milk of human kindness and in
spite of being ambitious, he lacks the choleric illness necessary to drive him

Disadvantages Of Laminated Glass
Global glass industry generates about $75 billion in annual revenue; laminated glass has significant
proportion in it. Despite the increased use of laminated glass(two monolithic layers of glass joined
with an elastomeric interlayer usually PVB to form a unit)as a cladding material for architectural
glazing applications ,as a structural material, material for wind shield, transparent insulating material
for automobiles the mechanical properties and the structural capabilities of PVB laminated glass are
not well known. Laminated glass industry requires more attention and laminated glass have great
potential of improvement. The present paper includes comprehensive review with conclusions and
further suggestions of around two hundred research articles and patents in the science of laminated

  • 2. The Justification Of The Nsa Unlawful Spying Activities The justifications provided for the leakage of the NSA unlawful spying activities also support the argument that Snowman s act was permissible. For instance, Snowden justifies his act by stating that he relied on the U.S Constitution, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as well as the 1945 Nuremberg declaration. He provides his explanation for his shift from the his earlier held philosophy of nationalism by noting that people have an international duty that surpasses their national obligations of loyalty, (Scheuerman, 2014). He further expounds that sometimes national loyalty leads to national relativism whereby people overlook their country s evils, instead preferring to focus on distant and external evils. Generally, intelligence systems are extensively concealed, which exposes them to potential abuse by those in charge. This results in abuse of human rights such as privacy rights that is detrimental to the very security that such systems ought to safeguard. As such, blowing the whistle on such activities can be an effective mechanism of exposing the ills that characterize intelligence systems. Furthermore, Scheurman (2014) argues that a requirement for whistleblower identity disclosure as proposed in Sagar s framework enhances their opportunity to fulfill their obligations to justify their actions. They further state that whistleblower identity disclosure demonstrates civic mindedness. In addition, the disclosure of the whistle blower s identity helps to prevent ... • 3. Causes Of Poverty In Honduras Living a life in Honduras is dreadful because research has shown that in 2016, 66 percent of the population of Honduras lived in poverty according to official data. Honduras also has one of the highest murder rates in the world, and the homicide rate in 2016 was 59 per 100,000. Which means that every 100,000 people living in Honduras 59 Hondurans will die every year. The numbers of the homicide rate in Honduras is ten times higher than global averages, and it is also 12 times higher than United States averages. One of the factors that breed crime is poverty because in Honduras there are limited jobs, as well as, inadequate wages, as a consequence, those workers don t have enough money to buy food for the entire family. Therefore those people join crime organizations to be able to feed their family by taking from others. After researching various articles, I found out that the one who is responsible for all the chaos that is happening in Honduras is the government of Honduras. The government of Honduras is a problem for the country because within the government there is political corruption. Since the corrupt politicians are abusing their power for evil it s having a negative impact for the people who are living in Honduras. Numerous people don t know this, but, it s common to see corrupt leaders working for the government in Central America countries such as Honduras. The Effects of Fracking on the Environment Essay While it is true fracking , a procedure to obtain natural gas removal from shale formations, it is also true there have been infrastructure security issues associated with this practice. Furthermore, there have been ecological considerations from fracking brought to the forefront by countless environmentalists. Indeed, hydraulic fracturing, as it is referred to, is a process by which shale gas and oil is uprooted from a depth far below the earth s exterior. The process of extracting shale gas and oil is employed aggressively while water is forced deep beneath the earth surface through a geological arrangement. From this arrangement, oil and gas is exerted back to the earth s surface. Moreover, once the hydraulic fracturing process is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Where this agreement usually ends, however, is with the question of quality control refining processes from my viewpoint. Anotherwords, what control measures are enforced to ensure all contaminants are entirely removed to guarantee a high level of quality assurance and security of the petroleum sectors within the nation s infrastructures? Are there residual contaminants affecting the quality of fuel supplied to the nation s energy consumers? From a preceding viewpoint, it can be related to the Colorado Floods that occurred in September 2013. Even the prevailing thought of hazardous waste introduced to the Colorado geographical landscape does not eliminate the second and third order affects imposed on the nation s petroleum pipeline infrastructure by way of corrosion, introducing chemicals into the pipeline arteries through small cracks that may extend beyond Colorado, an implication that cannot be ruled out. Water contamination prevention or across the board programs from the negative effect of hydraulic fracturing should be an expectation from petroleum energy producers. Moreover, it reminds us of an infrastructure security vulnerability, which is not often specified, when hydraulic fracturing is correlated to the role water functions through the conventional petroleum refining process, along with vast arrays of petroleum pipelines that exist across the nation s geographical landscapes. • 8. King Creon In Sophocles Antigone While reading the Greek play Antigone , written by the playwright Sophocles, one sees that a few of the characters can be related back to the reader/watcher of the play. For instance, many people can identify with the protagonist Antigone through her incomparable dedication in following the laws of beings of greater power. Others might identify with the wise Tiresias, whose wisdom and advice is given and taught across the land. However, for a fifteen year old boy such as I, I identify the most with the antagonist of the play, King Creon. The way that Creon manages his problems, very reminiscent to the way that many deal with the situations that they face in their lives; how he lets his anger and pride completely fuel every action that he takes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To be able to speak confidently and know what you are talking about is one of the most important abilities that one needs to convince others to join their cause. Just as King Creon did in his reign over Thebes, I am able to use my words to the fullest. To cite the play that we had read in class, Creon says: Polyneices, who broke his exile to come back with fire and sword against his native city and the shrines of his father s gods, whose one idea was to spill the blood of his blood and sell his own people into slavery (1, 34 37). When one reads Antigone without first reading the plays Oedipus and Oedipus at Colonus, what Creon says isn t all that strange. Even so, if one has looked through the first two plays, one realizes that Creon has used his words to completely change the way that Polyneices is viewed by the townsfolk. Creon was able to use his words to persuade others into believing that one of the sons of their old king was attacking Thebes to deface their gods and sell all of them into slavery. In this sense of character, Creon and I are homogenous beings. Identical to Creon, I can wrap people around my fingers via my words; a blessed few are able to completely resist my ... • 9. The Effects Of Video Advertisements On Society Essay Introduction Video advertisements are quick and momentary but their influence is pervasive and prolonged. The power of video advertisements shape norms and common societal expectations on how a person should look and behave. Overtime these gender roles (societal expectations associated with men and women) and behaviors become implicit thus implying normal (or in some instances ideal) men and women should exhibit these qualities and characteristics. Subconsciously, video advertisements impact a person s perception of what it means and what it takes to be a man or woman. The objective of this paper is to observe secondary socialization, ...learning behaviors and attitudes associated with specific situations and roles... , in YouTube video advertisements by comparing recurring patterns, symbols, statuses, and roles directed to men and women (Lecture Notes Nalkur 7). In addition, this paper seeks to explain how YouTube video advertisements act as socializing agents by portraying arguably exaggerated yet stereotypical traits of men and women that influence watchers perceptions and beliefs about their own gender identity and that of others. Methods The approach of this study was to obtain a total of eight YouTube video advertisements. Four of which focus on women/women s products and the other four video advertisements focus on men/men s products. It was constructed approximately in 447 BC and completed around 432 BC as a temple dedicated to the Goddess Athena., which the original one was destroyed in Persian Invasion of 480 BC. The Parthenon was used primarily as a treasury. In the sixth century AD, it was converted into a Christian church, dedicated to the Virgin Mary. During the Ottoman conquest it became a Mosque which was around 1460 s. The Parthenon was partially destroyed in 1687. The architects were Iktinos and Kallikrates with a mention of Vitruv and dedicated to the Goddess Athena Pallas or Parthenos (virgin). It s main function was to house the statues of Athena which were made of gold and ivory by Phedias. The inner chamber was unusually large so it could house the oversized statue of Athena. • 11. Mass Media On Teenagers The media has a strong influence on teenagers since they are mentally vulnerable and have access to various media especially visual and social. It is imperative for parents to filter the content that teenagers have access. This paper seeks to find out the effects of media on teenagers. Mass media has both negative and positive influences, and I strive to prove this claim. Online media and television have given teenagers access to health education on various diseases such as STDs, acne, and depression. The programs help the adolescents to dispel any myths about health care. Health organizations such as MayoClinic have confidential sites where teenagers are given a platform to ask any question without being judged. Youths who suffer from chronic conditions such as diabetes, asthma and skin ailments can join networks that provide support and the best method to handle their health. Television also has the potential to create negative and positive impacts. Although not all television programs are immoral, data has shown that the majority have scenes of violence, offensive language, and inappropriate sexuality. Such series include Empire, where the main character deals with drugs, violence and sex. Another show is Game of Thrones where the characters portray gory battle scene, foul language and sexual scenes. Television has also been shown to take teens away from their reading and studying time since they become addicted to the programs they watch (Osama 94). Television occupies time for exercises and other physical activities from teenagers. Youths who binge watch television are more likely to consume junk foods and snacks that contain high calorie intake. Since these calories are not being burned physically, there is a higher chance that these teenagers will end up being obese. Advertised foods have been shown to contain fats that surpass the recommended limit by nutritionists. The number of hours spent watching programs on television is related to an increased chance of cholesterol levels in teens. Eating disorders, especially in female teens, have been fueled by the images seen on television of thin models or characters in TV programs who have lost weight due to unconventional ways. • 12. Examples Of Foreshadowing In The Nightmare By Sherman Alexie In this quote, Alexie uses foreshadowing as a literary device. Flashbacks show what is important in the past and how it reflects the future. While Thomas and Victor were/are kids they got into a fight and stopped talking. Now Thomas is helping Victor. Although this is a flashback, it may also be interpreted as a hint of Victor and Thomas being friends again and help each other. Alexie is trying to tell his readers, even though you may have fought in the past, that doesn t mean you need to not care for each other. I really like this idea because it makes you pay attention and really understand the novel. Alexie uses allegory in the quote demonstrating how James s voice acts as a savior. I believe the author uses this to show that James may be about to help Victor or maybe be with his as a fallback just like how he caught the glass with his voice. This also reflects off of the theme of being spiritual. Alexie might be trying to just show how Indians really were or are. I really don t understand what is happening here because it seems to be just a whole bunch of short stories that have very little to do anything with each other. I really dislike this idea because it just makes the whole novel seem confusing and hard to understand. In this quote, Alexie uses symbolic as the literary device. He says the black circle looks like a smoke hole and that is used when there is a fire. Most people get hot when mad and need to vent. I believe the studio is more of a venting ground than anything. It felt more inquiring, rather than being obligated to go to school just because I had to, like the state required us to. Ever since I have been given two field placements, I have been increasingly interested in the teaching profession. My first field placement has been an eye opener for all other rolls in a school. It has showed me just how important other rolls are in a school, and how they can affect and tie into how a student does in a classroom. Having two field placements has given me a new outlook on the classroom environment, curriculum, and what goes on behind the scenes in the teaching profession. In my second field placement, which is what this ethnography will evolve around, I was placed at Blue Lick Elementary School (right next to Knight Middle School). Blue Lick Elementary School collaborates with Knight Middle School, to ease the transition to 6th grade. This school is located in Heritage Creek, which is also close to my first placement, Fairdale High School. The population in this neighborhood is low income. Think about a time when you believe something to be true, you just felt it and when presented with actual evidenced that your beliefs were incorrect it didn t sway your way of thinking. Realistic fiction is a story that has events, people, or dialogue that could be real. Red Kayak has many examples of realistic fiction like credible events and authentic characters. One reason Red Kayak is a good example or realistic fiction is because it has realistic settings. Realistic settings is a part of realistic fiction. A single mother is usually categorized in a negative light. When one says she s a single mother the first initial thoughts of many are the stereotyping that the single mother is on welfare, Medicare, and other government aids. Although the article Great Expectations: Single Mothers in Higher Education, by Diana L.Haleman is about the minority group of single mothers that live in poverty, I have some of the same issues that these women in the study had; mother, employee, and a college student. Their educational experiences often provide an opportunity for disrupting negative expectations directed toward them and also symbolize for the women the possibility of realizing the hopes and dreams they hold for themselves and their children, says Haleman, I couldn t agree more with that statement. Being a single mother, a hard worker, and a college student is not an easy task, but having my daughter grow up watching all my willpower on completing my goals will show her that no one can hold me down except myself. After the Bible, it was the most read book for centuries. Bunyan wrote it based on his largely Baptist, often Calvinist theology. This is evident in Pilgrim s Progress through the name choices of the main characters and his conversation with Ignorance regarding reaching the Celestial City. Christian tries to correct him and explain that there is only one way to the Celestial City, and his deeds do not matter. Due to the doctrines of Predestination and Total Depravity, Christian is correct under Calvinism. Since Ignorance is inherently a sinner, and not elect, he is unable to accept God s grace and enter the Celestial City by means of his own path according to the concept of Total Depravity. However, one way that Pilgrim s Progress contradicts Calvinist theory is when Christian is reading his bible at the very beginning and confesses to his family that he is worried for their safety because fire from Heaven will soon obliterate the city that they live in and he doesn t know how to save them. This is contradictory to Calvinism because Christian should inherently know that he cannot. Since God has preordained everything that will ever happen, Christian cannot save his family unless that was already been in God s plan. Pilgrim s Progress largely exemplifies Calvinist ideology throughout the text with each new character that Christian meats. Bunyan made his viewpoint very clear every everyone of his literary decisions from what the characters shall be named to how they go about their journeys. I remember when I first saw the movie around age eight, and I believed girls and boys were exactly how they were portrayed in the movie. I was sitting around with my best friends in our sleeping bags giggling just like every other young girl would at a movie like this one. Though the acting is exaggerated, it is effective in portraying the stereotypes of cliques among high schools through its characters, actresses/actors, special effects, and costumes. It s one of those movies where it s so bad it s good. The acting is meant to be terrible. For example, a dumb blonde known as Karen says, If you re from Africa, why are you white? .
