Determination And Determination Is The Most Important In Life
Determination means something different to everyone, to me it means persevering through any and all
the obstacles life throws at me. Without any willpower, I d never get anything done, and for that
reason, I m glad to say that determination and strength are most important in my life. It serves a role in
my current life, as well as it will in my future to enable me to be the best version of myself.
Every day is a new struggle, passing tests, turning in homework, keeping my GPA from tanking, it s
almost impossible for me to get through all of this without tenacity. When I m staying up until 2:00
a.m finishing loads of homework and projects, the one thing that keeps me from cuddling up in a
warm blanket and passing out, is my determination to finish the work I ve been given. I nurture this
human capacity in my day to day life, not only in my schoolwork but in my social life. Like any pair,
me and my best friend fight, we ll have friendship droughts , as my mom would say. In spite of all the
fighting, I stick with her because I know all the bickering won t last and there will come a day when I
ll be glad to have my best friend by my side. However, sometimes we do lose people for good and it s
hard to let go of the past and move on into the future. When my grandfather passed away, I felt like I
didn t know how to live anymore. I couldn t imagine getting through life without the one person I
confided in most, the person that always put a smile on my face. I was grief stricken, and the only
thing that allowed me to keep my composure and not fall apart like a brittle vase was my hope that I d
make it past this chapter of my life and move on to better things. Hope is what drives us, it s what
makes us strong, and enables us to keep on keepin on , as some would say.
This determination I ve referenced is what is needed in large amounts for my future job prospects as
well. For a while now, I ve dreamt of starting up my own restaurant or maybe becoming a lawyer, both
require enormous quantities of mental and emotional strength. For the restaurant, I would have to
endure restless nights studying for culinary school, after which I proceed to acquire a building suitable
for my business, hire a staff, spend numerous hours

Bend It Like Beckham Religion
Jessica Neale English 101 Vories 8 October 2015 Religious and Cultural Restrictions Bend it like
Beckham explores the women s soccer world and shows how you might have to alternate and bend
some of the rules in order to reach your goals. This film is very rich in diverse cultural concepts. Most
of the struggle in this film was trying to belong with the cultural relationships due to their ancestry.
Certain religions have limitations against what activities they can take part in and differentiating
between right and wrong. Jess Indian background held certain restraints on her goals and dreams to

religion where young children are expected to follow their parent s traditions and beliefs. So how far

I can relate to this article with the ministry work that I do across America and sometimes in third
world countries. After taking multiple trips to these parts of the world like, Sri Lanka, and
experiencing this entirely new universe, it opened my eyes in ways that I had never of imagined. We
as white Americans are unbelievably over privileged. The society we live in today is home to some of
the most ignorant people. When it comes to how lucky and privileged we are, living in a free country
with the rights that we have should be one of the most grateful gifts given to us. In the film Bend it
like Beckham, Jess came from a different cultural background which was holding her back from her
dreams of playing soccer. We have programs like food stamps and child services, Medicaid and public
schools. Our babies get immunized against deadly diseases like hepatitis

Fear In The Odyssey
The Hero s Journey, as defined by Joseph Campbell, is a set of stages a protagonist must undergo to
reinter into his known and normal world after facing many challenges. One specific challenge the hero
must face is described as the Supreme Ordeal, which is the moment the greatest fear is confronted. In
The Odyssey, Odysseus must kill the suitors who took over his household to reach the next stage of
his journey. As Odysseus slaughters the suitors in the hall of his home in Book 22, not only does he
enter the Supreme Ordeal stage of the Hero s Journey to face his greatest fear, but also is one phase
closer to reintegrating with society. Joseph Campbell, an American scholar, defined the Hero s Journey
in twelve separate stages within two halves, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While earlier books in The Odyssey describe Odysseus fear in his own words, Book 22 is the first
incident in which his fear is physically both described and displayed. This display of fear is further
expressed when Athena as Mentor asks Odysseus, Where s it gone, Odysseus your power, your
fighting heart? (22.236) This question not only represents the great fear circulating through the hero in
the moment, but also symbolizes his hitting bottom. Athena, once greatly praising the courage of
Odysseus, hit new heights of rage (22.234) when he became overcome with fear as more suitors and
enemies gathered in the hall, waiting to kill him. Athena then goes as far as to mock the fear that
overcame Odysseus when she states now you ve returned to your own house, your own wealth /
bewail the loss of your combat strength in a war with suitors? (22.242 243) This emphasis on suitors
shows both their inner weakness and the disgust Athena has towards them, giving Odysseus the
advantage in the slaughter. This advantage is demonstrated when six of the suitors attempt to attack
Odysseus and his comrades with spears, but Athena sent the whole salvo wide of the mark (22.269).
Immediately after, Odysseus and his comrades return the attack and successfully kill four of the
opposing men. After another round of slaughtering success, Odysseus begins to overcome the fear of
the Supreme Ordeal. This fear is not lost; however, for it is turned around and placed on the remaining
suitors by Athena when she terrifies the suitors out of their minds, and down the hall they panicked /
wild, like herds stampeding, driven mad as the darting gadfly / strikes in the late spring when the ling
days come round (22.313 315). As the suitors coward in fear, the rush

Business Continuity Planning And Disaster Recovery
Business continuity Planning and Disaster recovery: For any Organization to survive on log run,
executives must give priority to Disaster recovery (DR) and Business continuity (BC) plan during
budget allocations and never see a payback from those investments. Disasters won t happen daily, they
rarely occur. But when it happens and if the company doesn t have a Plan or mechanism to fast
recover, then that company loses its customer to its competitors. Business continuity plan includes
steps company must take to minimize the service outages. Organizations must have a system in place
to minimize the unplanned downtime. After Y2K crisis, companies added Business continuity plan

Incident response occurs during the incident, however, disaster recover occurs after the incident has
taken place (Whitman Mattord, 2012). Adequately preparing for disasters would help in fast recovery.
For example, fire is a catastrophic disaster, so backups should be at off site location to minimize the
damage caused to clients, employees, stakeholders and investors. Disaster recovery plan must be
developed and implemented with top down support across all departments in an organization. Every
department in an organization must contribute to the disaster plan. IT team should write the disaster
plan because they have a deep insight into the company wide business process. IT department is in the
unique position of understanding of the daily operations of each department, as well as constant
communication with leads within those each department. Without a cross departmental participation it
is impossible to put out a proper plan. The disaster plan should include more possible scenarios
because the cause of disaster is more. The following are considered as disasters in the typical
organization: 1) Employee fraud 2) Stolen laptop 3) Fire 4) Terrorist attacks To effectively face the
disaster the disaster plan should be distributed across an organization because everyone knows their
role within the plan. Roles must be revised and Plans should be rehearsed periodically. Network

Current National Health Care Spending
Health Care Spending Health care spending in the United States is the highest then in any other
country. According to Kane (2012), the Organization for Economic Co operation and Development
(OECD) there are less physicians per person than in other OECD countries. For example there was 2.4
practicing physicians in the U.S. per 1,000 people. The average for OECD was 3.1, the U.S. fell well
below. In 2012 $8,233 was spent on health care per year per person, this was two and a half times
more than most of the developed nations in the world (Kane, 2012). This paper will discuss the level

spending, which increased by 3.9 percent in 2012, 0.4 percentage points faster than in 2011 (
(Gnadinger, 2014, para. 3). Faster growth was impacted mostly in hospital, physician and clinical
services. To offset this acceleration was a slower growh in spending for perscription drugs and nursing
home care. Health care payers spending varied as well in 2012. The medicaid and out of pocket
spending grew faster in 2012 than in 2011, but growth in private health insurance and Medicare
spending was a little slower. The national health spending is still continuing to grow faster then our
economy. It is projected to increase from 18 percent to about 25 percent by 2037. Even with the ACA
in effect, the federal health spending is estimated to increase from 25 percent of total federal spending
to about 40 by 2037 (Marcus, 2012, para. 2).
Is Spending too Much or not Enough There has been an ongoing debate over if there is too much
being spent on health care or if there is not enough. From a personal thought, there is no such thing as
an amount that should be spent on healthcare. This is an opinion based statement, no one will agree on

With direct reference to at least one film, how did Hollywood address the paranoid, hysterical political
climate of the 50s?
The Cold War began in 1947 between the USSR and the USA. After World War II, both countries
began to distrust each other, as they knew the amount of power each country had in terms of nuclear
weapons. Not only did they distrust each other, but they lacked a mutual understanding of each other s
culture. The USA believed in capitalism and the USSR believed in communism. This lack of mutual
understanding caused mass paranoia within America as they feared that communists would infiltrate
their society. This hysteria was known as the Red Scare which lead to a range of actions that had a

HUAC however disagreed and all ten were found guilty of contempt of congress and each were

he claimed were communists (Hollywood Ten, 2013). This led to the beginning of a movie industry

Emotional Intelligence Vs Cognitive Intelligence
I believe emotional intelligence stands ahead of cognitive intelligence by a little though latter is
equally powerful too. Emotional Intelligence Quotient is defined as a set of competencies
demonstrating the ability one has to recognize his or her behaviors, moods, and impulses, and to
manage them best according to the situation (Chib, 2012). Traditional cognitive intelligence is the
ability to plan, reason, and use logical deduction to solve problems, but also the capability to apply
abstract thinking while learning from and responding to the environment ( What is traditional
cognitive intelligence? , 2016). Emotional Intelligence is more important simply because it determines
how much mentally and psychologically strong and consistent a person is and the very same strength
drives us to keep doing things that are in the path of success.
Ashforth Humphrey (1995) say that it is a common belief that, when emotions are intertwined with
role, performance, or both, they tend to interfere with task achievement. However, to be emotionally
intelligent is to be able to let out emotions the right way. When we are able to stay humble during
success and determined during failures, patient during anger and calm during frustration, we basically
already win. However, on the other hand, no matter how logical we are, if we are just restless, then it
will not be worthwhile. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Observation Of A Crime Scene Investigation
I chose Option 3. My scene takes place in two spaces, the dining area of a kitchen and the adjoining
backyard wood deck. My crime is a murder suicide one male, one female. For both spaces I chose the
quadrant method for searching not a large space but due to evidence and appearance of movement, I
believe the quadrant search will be easier to catalog and document evidence, conduct measurements
(solid reference points), and capture photographic images. My evidence spans two locations. The first
is the kitchen dining area. There is no sign of a struggle; there is a round table with four chairs and
miscellaneous table items (napkins, flower vase etc.). On the table, there is a cell phone, two chairs
pulled away from the table, one glass with what appears to be wine in it. Next to the table is a small
suit case which appears to be pack with clothes. The wine glass allows for the collection of DNA
evidence in the form of possible saliva transfer and also allows for the collection of fingerprint and lip

The elephants once roamed around the continents of Africa and Asia in abundance. Growing numbers
of human population, environment and climate change has played vital role in the loss of their natural
habitat resulting in the decline of elephant population. At the beginning of the 20th century, there were
few million African elephants and over 100,000 Asian elephants. Today, their estimated numbers
range from 450,000 to 700,000 for African elephants and 35,000 to 40,000 for Asian elephants.
Like most animals, elephants also play significant role in the ecosystem. The elephants help maintain
suitable habitats for other species. They pull down trees, clear out heavy bushes, dig waterholes and
create openings in the dense forests. Several tree species rely entirely upon elephant droppings for
seed dispersal and germination. Elephants require larger habitats to maintain food supply that has
brought them in direct competition with human race for living space. The ever increasing human
population has pushed elephants into smaller areas, exposing them to human contact and hindering
their freedom to roam. When humans and elephants live close together, the herds of elephants crossing
can damage crops and villages. Such incidents lead to conflicts with humans in which elephants
constantly lose and are killed.
Hunting has been one of the most significant reasons of the population decline in

customer could return it for a full refund after it has arrived at Data Equipments warehouse. The third
option has Excello offering Data Equipment a 10 percent discount to take the product by December

company to choose this because the transfer of ownership has not occurred. A transfer of ownership
would only occur when Data Equipment has the goods in their possession. Excello would legally still

principle could cause a lot of negative consequences for everyone that has a public interest in the

Dracul A Fundamental Step Stone For Horror Literature
Written and set in the Victorian era, Bram Stoker s novel Dracula is a fundamental stepping stone for
horror literature. Unlike most novels of its time, Dracula not only showcased the ideals of its era, but it
completely flipped it on its head. Firstly, there are numerous examples of female sexuality and
symbolism throughout the entire novel. In Victorian society, it was believed that women had no sex
drive and only partook in sex when their male partners insisted. It was unheard of for a female to be
sexually assertive in any way, and such an idea would likely have been a very disturbing and
frightening concept to a conservative society. Needless to say, women often had to suppress their
sexual desires during this period in order to keep ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But along with along with being depicted as a traditional woman, she also represents the new woman
of the time. Whereas Mina s traditional woman aspects are more so depicted through her sentiments
and principles, her new woman aspects are depicted through her intelligence. Mina is regarded to as a
new woman due to her job as an assistant schoolmistress, seeing as to most women who worked were
in order to make ends meat if their husbands were sick or injured and typically were jobs requiring
manual labor. Stoker basically wrote Mina to represent the ideal Victorian woman with even Van
Helsing praising her saying that she is one of God s women, fashioned by His own hand to show us
men and other women that there is a heaven where we can enter, and that its light can be here on earth.
So true, so sweet, so noble... (Stoker 114), but she is also simultaneously classified a new woman .
She is the only female character who keeps the Victorian ideals constant throughout the novel, even
after being vamped by Dracula and being confronted later on by his three brides. Now where Mina is
the quintessential Victorian woman, Dracula s three brides are on the complete opposite side of the
spectrum, the real new women . They were completely sexual every time they showed up within the
novel. Considering the high standards of purity Mina was held to due to her common Victorian nature,
these three were a Victorians nightmare.

Essay on The Ontological Argument for the Existence of God
The Ontological Argument for the Existence of God
The ontological argument is an a priori argument. The arguments attempt to prove God s existence
from the meaning of the word God. The ontological argument was introduced by Anselm of
Canterbury in his book Proslogion. Anselm s classical argument was based on two principals and the
two most involved in this is St Anselm of Canterbury as previously mentioned and Rene Descartes.
The ontological argument argues that if you understand what it means to talk about God, you will see
His existence is necessarily true. Anselm defined God as that than which nothing greater can be
conceived , hence God must exist. Anselm also believed that even ... Show more content on

If He did not exist, then you could still think of an even greater being (one just like God that you said
did not exist, except this one would exist). Existence must be one of God s attributes because to
remove it, you would still be able to fathom a greater God (one which does exist). The problem most
have with this argument is that it seems to simply list existence among God s attributes, rather than
show it. The argument appears to say whatever you can imagine should be true in reality.
Descartes claimed God exists is true, if we know what it means to talk of God. Similarly, he
maintained that once we know what a triangle is we know that it must have three sides. Like a triangle
inherently must have three sides, so God inherently must exist.
Objections to the ontological argument were first brought up by a monk who was a contemporary of
Anselm named Gaunilo. He said that according to Anselm s line of reasoning, if he envisioned an
island that is beautiful and sparkling and completely perfect, then it must exist. For an island that does
exist would be more perfect than one that does not exist. Gaunilo said that we cannot simply define
things into existence. We cannot show an island or God exists simply by analyzing that idea.
A critique of Descartes comes from the philosopher David Hume who argued against the

Literary Analysis Of Plato s The Myth Of The Cave
The writing is, overall, a dialogue which is dominated in arguments by one of those who dialogues:
Plato, who is not mentioned explicitly in the conversation taking place, however, he is the writer of the
piece, and historically known as the character that is steering the message on it. Plato develops during
the progress of the story an analogy, where he pictures slaves being only exposed to a limited reality
of shadows inside a cave, when one of them is liberated to the outside of the cavern, facing realism
and opening his comprehension, his former partners question his mental stability thinking he was
affected by what he saw after his freedom. Plato as the author of the piece, and as the character
narrating the analogy, is trying to explain the incomprehension suffered by the philosopher, putting the
philosopher as the inquisitive being who discovers reality, experiencing the disapproval of the non
philosopher world: the slaves.
The essay The Myth of the Cave by Plato is well written because of his utterly original structure
which does not follow a classic flow, because the piece flows smoothly between the conversation of
Plato and his interlocutor and the myth being narrated on Plato s parts, one does not realize this
unusual structure is implemented to deliver the message exquisitely.
The general purpose of the piece is not seen until the intermediate paragraphs when Plato says: ...The
prison house is the world of sight, the light of the fire is the sun, and you will

CLIMATE CHANGE SHOULD BE A POLITICAL AND NOT A SCIENTIFIC PROBLEM
Introduction
Global warming has become one of the most important scientific, political and economic issues.
According to the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), the period between 1995 and
2006 seems to have been one of the warmest yet recorded since 1850 relevant variables such as
changes in ocean temperatures, changes in terrestrial ecosystems, the decrease in the extent of snow
and ice in the northern hemisphere, the shortening of the cold seasons, melting glaciers, reduction in
the extent of permafrost and rising sea level, provide clear evidence of that the world is warming
(Miller, 2013). Delay and limit climate change requires long term, large international effort. The most
important is the current via the United Nations Convention on Climate Change has given, but it is also
important to take preventive measures at national level (Gonzales, 2013). Industrialized countries have
made some progress, albeit limited, in curbing GHG emissions (greenhouse gasses) recognizing the
urgent need to develop specific policies, such as the use of emissions permits, taxes energy and
environmental, industrial voluntary measures, regulatory

2000). The research by Quayle (2002) revealed that small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the UK
would generally focus on waste management rather than adopting e commerce. Moreover, some
critics even predicted an imminent collapse of e commerce (Wallace, 2000). Surprisingly for the
oppositionists, wide use of e business initiatives has proved its impact on waste management with the
adaption of electronic data interchange, electronic catalogue ordering, e mail, mobile telephone, direct
link ups with suppliers According to the research in the lean manufacturing conducted by Toyota
Production System, companies encounter 7 types of waste in their operations: overproduction, defects,
over processing, inventory, transportation, waiting, motion (El Namrouty et al., 2013). Different
business model of ecommerce companies as opposed to brick and motors` enables reduction or
elimination of some of those types of waste (reduced paper transactions, shorter order cycle time and
the subsequent inventory reduction). The changes result in speedy transmission of information,
enhanced supplier/buyer partnership through web communication networks (Gulledge et al., 1998)
and cost savings. Moreover, if

Defining Accreditation
Accreditation is defined as a verification system in which correctional agencies must comply with
under the American Correctional Association. Privatization brings about competition between prisons
and jails in the community. As a result, prisons and jails are encouraged to make improvements as
deemed necessary. In addition to affecting prisons and jails, accreditation and privatization also has an
effect on the professional development of corrections officers. In recent years, the correctional
administration has become quite familiar with accreditation and professionalization. For example, the
correctional administration is familiar with professionalization because there are many people residing
in the United States whom work within the field of corrections. These job titles include but are not
limited to probation officers, parole officers, and police officers. It is very imperative for parole and
probation officers to remain professional when dealing with their clients. Also, correctional officers
must remain professional when working with their clients. The only difference is the degree of
professionalism between parole/probation officers and correctional officers. In order for an individual
to become either a probation or parole officer, he or she must obtain a college degree. He or she must
also have a clean record with no criminal activity. After these requirements are met, the individual
must pass the civil service test in order to receive eligibility of becoming a

The Implementation Of The 21st Century Essay
The implementation of the 21st century skills requires the development of the core academic subject
its knowledge and understanding among all students. In the K 12 curriculum the development of
scientifically, technologically, and environmentally literate and productive members of society who
are critical problem solvers, responsible stewards of nature, innovative and creative citizens, informed
decision makers and effective communicators is the Science curriculum goal. To carry out this goal,
the teaching of science has to be done using inquiry based approach or inquiry based learning as the
main teaching and learning strategy.
Inquiry based learning or IBL has long been used as a teaching strategy in science, however, this
strategy has been either misunderstood or misused by the implementers. First of all, it is often thought
of that all laboratory activities and experiments are inquiry based. McComas (1997) defined science
pedagogical strategies in an attempt to provide a new foundation for laboratory learning. He made
distinctions in the terms; activity (exercise), cookbook activity, deductive laboratory, discovery,
discretion, experiment, hands on, inductive laboratory, laboratory, practical work, openness,
simulation and verification activity. These terms do not only provide a basis for discussion among
science teachers but as an analytical tool to determine the usefulness and appropriateness of the
laboratory activity.
Classifications of laboratory activities have

The seminar focuses on the study of the effect of compressed natural gas (CNG) and diesel fuel
injection pressures, together with the amount of fuel injected during the pilot injection for different
operating conditions, on combustion development, engine emission levels and fuel consumption.

1. INTRODUCTION
Nowadays the internal combustion engines are spread to the extent that they represent the main cause
of pollutant production. Nevertheless, it is well known that the stocks of fuels traditionally used in this
kind of engines will be able to satisfy the world s needs for few more decades. This explains the
massive research activity, drawn all over the world, addressed to the utilization of innovative fuels and
injection concepts in order to either replace the traditional ones or obtain a more efficient and clean
combustion. Compared to diesel engines, characterized by a high efficiency but at the same time high
levels of articulate, and to premixed charge gasoline engines, characterized by a low efficiency
because of knock limitations and pumping losses, lean burn engines can reach a higher efficiency
thanks to lower pumping losses and heat transfer. On the contrary, lean mixtures generally imply
higher levels of both total unburned hydrocarbons (THC) and carbon monoxide. Nevertheless, mixing
the fuel with an increasing quantity of air, flame instability, sometimes leading to misfiring, is
observed.

Reflection Paper On Physician Assistant
It was an enlightening experience to be able to shadow a physician assistant now as a physician
assistant student compared to my previous experiences as a pre physician assistant student. I could
appreciate and understand more the expectations and demands that comes with the profession.
Similarly, how effective a physician assistant may be at meeting the core competencies in the
physician assistant profession. While shadowing Pediatric PA Nick Constantino, I found he meet all
the competencies in our profession, but the two that stood out to me the most were patient care and
medical knowledge.
During the time I spent shadowing PA Constantino, I was able to notice how well rehearsed he was
with medical literature. We saw about eight patients who presented with varying complaints such as
spontaneous nocturnal leg pain, foreign body in ear, wellness checks, possible celiac disease, refill for
medications, change of medications, and cold like symptoms. I was particularly interested on how he
handled the case with the spontaneous nocturnal leg pain. According to the mother, the child would
wake up in the middle night with bilateral leg pain that was soothed with warm baths and Motrin. The
child had not sustained any injuries and after the second episode of leg pain he was taken to the
Emergency Room to be evaluated.
Labs were drawn and x rays were taken of his legs and the results were normal. PA Constantino

Pathophysiology
RA is a mediated inflammatory process that triggers an autoimmune response. The result is in the
production of antibodies and inflammatory cytokines that over time destroys bone, cartilage, tendons,
ligaments and blood vessels (Dewing, Setter, Slusher, 2012). Although joints are the primary areas of
destruction, the inflammatory process can also affect various organs, such as heart tissue including the
heart values, visceral layers of the lung and brain, spleen, sclera and larynx (Dunphy, Windland
Brown, Porter, Thomas 2011). If RA is not treated promptly or if the patient does not respond to
treatment, irrevocable bone deformity, bone erosion and immobility is often the sequelae.

The National Health Institute defines complementary alternative therapy as a health care methodology
used outside of or in addition to mainstream medicine (National Center for Complementary and

as supplements, (2) body manipulation, such as massage, chiropractic, reflexing and osteopathy, (3)
mind and body therapies, consisting of yoga, tai chi, meditation, biofeedback and hypnosis, (4) energy

naturopathy, traditional Chinese and Indian medicine. According to Efthimiou, Kukar, and Mackenzie
(2009) there has been exponential growth in those who seek CAM. In 2010, data demonstrates that 40
60% of Americans use CAM to cope with medical conditions. This growth trend is attributed to
increased public awareness through social media and patient s desires to try something new and

What Role Does Mowgli Play In Welsg Book
There are many characters involved in The Jungle Books, by Rudyard Kipling, but Mowgli, the man
cub, holds a special role throughout all of the stories. As we start out reading, he is described as a

growing up but also learning the Laws of the Jungle from Baloo, changing his mind about who he
truly is, and making a life changing decision. In Kaa s Hunting the Laws of the Jungle become very

The Normal Heart Analysis
In the rougher neighborhoods of Queens where I did a majority of my growing up, repression is
survival. Everyone keeps their heads down, shuffles to work in the morning, and shuffles back at
night. There s a pervasive culture of tragedy; it is everywhere: families torn apart by deportations,
young men taken by gang violence and guns, and young children missing mothers and fathers. But, to
survive, it must be as if none of that matters. Shuffle to work, shuffle back. My mother, a very well
educated woman and single parent, fought as hard as she could to provide me with the kind of
education that could pull me away from the dead ends that every other young person fell into. So she
worked double shifts, two jobs, and found a side hustle wherever she could to keep me in private
schools miles away. The sorts of schools that still had arts funding while in out neighborhood that
money had long been taken away. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I read stories and heard tales of people who were just like the people in my neighborhood. People,

County allowed me to tell stories and to feel and empathize deeply. To look up at the world instead of
accept it, mourn it, keep my head down and shuffle to work and back.
I live my life to tell stories. All stories are beautiful and everyone deserves to see a face they recognize
telling them a story that explores the struggles they deal with daily. To know we are not alone, and that
art has a meaning full place in our lives as our teachers, is such a comfort. Art teaches us to feel, it
teaches us about ourselves, and how to empathize with others. It taught me how to communicate
something that could save a life in a tender, beautiful way. And it would be my privilege to be able to

an off camera scene, viewers learn that Robinson is killed in a daring escape attempt from the town s

audaciously rejecting the cultural norms of his Southern society. They believed that Robinson would

There are different ways of determining what λ should be and I will cover how to obtain such values
by using the error terms of the sequence |x_k x^* | and |x_(k+1) x^* | which can be denoted e_k and
〖 e〗_(k+1) respectively.
By comparing different methods and using them on the same problems we will be able to find out if
and where different methods will be suited to different functions. In some instances one method may
not work because it is may not be able to find a descending path to follow hence unable to find a
minimizer, or possibly one method may take and ascending path firstly so it could descend. By the end
of this research I will be able to recognise such conditions and restraints when applying a method to a
function problem, as well as being able to use a correct method of optimization and picking one with a
high order of convergence to obtain a minimizer as quickly as possible.
Due to there being multiple dimensions I will also look at when there is only one dimension to worry
about, these methods will include the Secant, Bisection and Fibonacci Methods, by looking at these I
can show my opinion on what would be the best type of method if the function problem was in only
one dimension, as perhaps a method which can be used for n dimensions may have unnecessary work

methods and then with methods that are used for multiple dimensions,

In The Skin Of A Lion Character Analysis
In order for humans to be able to create meaningful relationships with one another, they need to be
able to communicate with each other. If individuals want to create relations with one another, they
need to be able to understand each other. They also need to take the initiative to figure out others, and
be able to communicate and connect with each other. However, the only way that you can understand
others is if you relate with one another, in order to build relations and be comfortable around each
other. In order for you to be able to connect with other people and have relations with others people,
we need to leave our comfort zone and relate to other people. Whether it be learning a new language
or moving to a new place, just like the individuals in the second source and third source were able to
do.
In the story of In the Skin of a Lion, the main character is Patrick who lived amongst other immigrants
and did not recognize their language and culture because he kept to himself. However, when he took
the initiative to learn the Macedonian word for Iguana he was able to communicate with others at the
fruit stall, and in the future he was able to be close to some new people he didn t even know existed.
This source shows how if you take action upon your desires to make relations you will infact be able
to make new friends, just like Patrick was able to make new relations with the people around him.

Dantes Inferno
Foscolo, Rossetti and Valli demonstrated that the different critical exegetical positions, regarding the
Divine Comedy (whose intent appears on one side as a disciplinary and moral renewal of the Church,
and on the other side as a hidden, heretical reversion) were not free from contemporary pressures. In
fact, their own theories are able to offer a valid evidence of the nineteenth century s political and
religious debates, and for this reason, I am going to analyse the interpretation of Dante s work by Ugo
Foscolo, through both, the Discorso sul testo della Divina Commedia , and two articles that Foscolo
published in the Edinburgh Review in 1818; in addition, I am going to analyse the interpretation by
Rossetti through his work titled ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Obviously, being impossible to summarize the vast, esoteric, exegesis of Dante proposed by them, I
am feeling obliged to try to highlight some common key of readings as, for example: 1) the relation
between the symbol of the Cross (representing the Roman Church) and the Eagle (representing the
Empire), whose doctrines are linked to mankind s need for salvation. These two institutions (Church
and Empire), according Dante s thought, had to be both settled at the centre of Rome, as at the time of
the Holy Roman Empire. In addition, according to Foscolo, Rossetti and Valli, Dante attacked the
Church exclusively because he wanted the renewal of the spiritual dimension, where the Church had
to abandon its material interests, leaving exclusively to the Empire the task to unify Peoples under a
unique government. In this way, both Church and Empire would have been able to help humankind for
their spiritual and material ends. 2) Another common key of reading, for Foscolo, Rossetti and Valli, is
linked with the symbol of Beatrice, which is seen by the three interpreters, not as a real woman, but as
a symbol of the wisdom, present in many ancient traditions. 3) I will try to highlight the fact that the
esoteric reading of Dante, is considered by both, Foscolo and Rossetti in key heterodox, neo
Pythagorean and Ghibelline, while it is considered by Valli in super catholic key. In brief, in my thesis,
I will try to find all common passages of Dante s oeuvre, used by Foscolo,Rossetti and Valli, analysing

Pros And Cons Of Omnivore s Dilemma
Throughout the US there has been the big concern of where the food we eat comes from and if it is
healthy. Everyone wants healthy food, yet we fail to eat the healthy food that is right in front of us,
instead we eat industrial made food that causes the death of thousands of people each year. In the
Omnivore s Dilemma by Michael Pollan, you explore the pros and cons of our five main food chains;
industrial, industrial organic, organic, sustainable, and hunter gatherer. In all ways, the sustainable food
chain is the best food chain to feed the US. Animals and plants are developed naturally without any
chemicals or pesticides and all of the produce is grown and sold locally and harvested by hand.

The customers that buy from local sustainable farms know how their food is grown and harvested. At
the Polyface farm Joel does not have walls on his slaughter house, this way people can come and see
how their next meal is killed in a humane way. The people don t need USDA to ensure that the meat
they re buying has been humanely and cleanly processed, (208) because they can watch with their own
eyes how the meat is slaughtered. Industrial industries protest that selling produce locally can not get
food to everyone around the US. Shipping produce across the country effects the foods taste. Also
when customers go to the far, to pick out their own food they get the produce fresh and local. Local
farmers on sustainable farms will make a bigger profit out of their produce because they do not have
to put all their money into buying chemicals and fertilizers, this is good for the produce and farmers.
Overall the sustainable food chain is the best food chain to feed the US. The food grown is fresh and

Physics of Pinball Essay
Physics of Pinball
Pinball is a fast pace game of physics and skill. With the knowledge of the mechanics and the physics
of how the game works it can be played more effectively. Friction, gravity, potential energy, kinetic
energy, circuits and momentum are just a few of the aspects of physics apply.
The first thing to do to start a game of pinball is to insert the coin. This alone requires many
fundamental aspects of physics. The player inserts the coin and lets gravity take over. Gravity
accelerates the coin to a certain speed in a specific direction or what is called velocity. The coin, which
has mass, is now moving at a certain velocity. The coin now has linear momentum. To find the
momentum of the coin we would take the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The player has now compressed the spring in the ball shooter. The ball sitting in the ball shooter is at
rest. It will be at rest until acted on by an unbalanced force. This is Newton s first law of motion, the
law of inertia (Kirkpatrick and Wheeler p31). The ball shooter is then released the spring
decompresses and strikes the ball sending it up the incline to the top of the pinball playing field. The
strike on the ball is called the impulse. The time interval it takes for the ball momentum to change.
Since the ball has no momentum because it has zero velocity the ball shooter transfers its momentum
at the impulse (The Ball Shooter 2003). This also takes place in the time frame of about a second.
The ball now has kinetic energy. Kinetic energy like momentum in that it comes from the mass of the
object and its velocity. Kinetic energy was transferred from the plunger to the ball just like momentum
was but only if the collision was elastic. During and elastic collision kinetic energy is conserved. The
balls kinetic energy is half of its momentum squared. This means the balls momentum is its mass
multiplied by velocity, and then it is squared and divided by two. If the velocity or speed of the ball is
reduced by one half then the overall kinetic energy is reduced by a factor of four (Kirkpatrick and
Wheeler p.106)
The ball uses this kinetic energy to move up the usually 6 to 7 degree incline to the top of the playing
field. The kinetic

The most thorough account of judicial practice would then have to go on to study the education and
training of judges, and their embedding within a particular culture or cultures of legal behaviour. What
are the consequences of this argument? If practices are essentially ways of acting in given
circumstances, any general theory may be too distant from the practice to capture how judges actually
interpret cases. Judicial interpretation is always a matter of a specific case and a singular set of facts.
To understand why a judge in a particular case comes to a particular conclusion necessitates a study of
a precise legal context. In other words, a general account of precedent perhaps tells us more about the
practice of academic writing than it does about the work of judges. It may be that the best way to
understand the practice of judicial interpretation is to abandon any general account, and to see how it
proceeds in different doctrinal areas of law. This would indicate that the best way to understand the
practice of precedent is to study cases within their specific contexts†.
†
Precedence and judicial creativity
However, given that we need a general account of precedent, we can suggest some overarching
concerns that structure judicial practice. The historical beginnings of the present doctrine of precedent
obscure the extent to which judicial practice is creative. Judges make law, as Lord Browne Wilkinson
said in Kleinwort Benson v Lincoln City

The Accounting Field Of Public Accounting
To go into the accounting field, you must first go to college and obtain either an associate s or a
bachelor s degree in accounting. Though, most people get their bachelor s degree. While some people
finish their course of studying after just four years, others continue studying up to 150 credits to
qualify for certification to become a CPA or otherwise known as Certified Public Accountant. But to
become a licensed CPA, one must pass a very rigorous exam which consists of four different sections.
The four parts are: Audit and Attestation; Financial Accounting and Reporting; Regulation; and
Business Environment and Concepts. Each part is taken once at a time as they are very long, but once
you pass a section, you must pass the other three within a period of 18 months. With a license of a
CPA, one can easily get into the field of public accounting. But what exactly does public accounting
mean? According to accountingtools.com, public accounting involves being an independent third party
that examines the financial statements and supporting systems of client companies to see if their
financial statements fairly represent the results, financial position, and cash flows of the clients.
Certified public accountants provide their service to many people which varies from an individual
taxpayer to large corporations. Generally, public accountants work service falls under three categories:

Negotiation Reflection
Negotiation is one of the most common approaches used to make decisions and manage disputes. It is
also the major building block for many other alternative dispute resolution procedures. According to
Christopher W (2012), negotiation is the principal way that people redefine an old relationship that is
not working to their satisfaction or establish a new relationship where none existed before. Because
negotiation is such a common problem solving process, it is in everyone s interest to become familiar
with negotiating dynamics and skills. This section is designed to identify what worked well and not
well in the negotiation. In addition, to present strategies that generally makes the negotiation more

We should be prepared. Also, we need to hold firm to our principles. Do not forget we have something
the supplier wants; they need us as much as we need them. When something is important to us, stick
to our guns. Suppliers will respect us for it. Moreover, we do not be intimidated. We do not
automatically accept the contract terms a supplier suggests/offers us. Remember that it is their job to
get the best possible outcome for their company. However, that is our job too. Furthermore,
acknowledging the strengths in the supplier s proposal or positive past performances before
identifying weaknesses can make them more receptive to considering our point of view. Additionally,
we have to Control the Negotiations. We have to leading the agenda, tabling the objectives, and
control the pace of the meeting all help to assert our position in the negotiation process. Consequently,
negotiation is a process that can be approached in many ways. No matter what strategy we choose,
success lies in how well we prepared. The key to negotiating a beneficial outcome is the negotiators
ability to consider all the elements of the situation carefully and to identify and think through the
options. At the same time, negotiators must be able to keep events in perspective and be as fair and
honest as circumstance allows. Because a common ground or interest has brought the parties to the
negotiating table, a negotiator can benefit by trying to capitalize on this common

Badland Lyrics Analysis
Something that makes Badlands such a beautiful work of art are the lyrics, which are simple and
beautiful enough to make them relatable to nearly anyone who listens to them. Many people have
criticized Halsey s lyrics for being generic, however, they are creative and carefully written, but may
not appeal to everyone. One of her best lyrics is a fan favorite, you were red, and you liked me
because I was blue. But you touched me and suddenly I was a lilac sky, and you decided purple just
wasn t for you. This lyric is from the song Colors, which was written about Halsey s brief relationship
with Matty Healy from the band The 1975. It describes a relationship in which one person changes
another so much that they find they no longer are attracted ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

With your face all made up, living on a screen, low on self esteem so you run on gasoline, from her
song Gasoline. This song describes how Halsey feels like she is an outsider to society and she feels
that people are confused by her as she grows more and more popular. The lyric, which is from the
chorus, is her describing what she sees other people as. She is saying that there s pressure to conform
and not be true to whom one really is, and if people don t have much confidence they will follow
popular trends to fit in and be accepted in society. Even though Halsey is very unique and different,
even she still feels the pressure due to fame, and she feels that she s living on a screen. Finally, what is
possibly the best lyric from Badlands is from the song Control: I m bigger than my body; I m colder
than this home. I m meaner than my demons; I m bigger than these bones. Throughout the song,
Halsey describes her struggles with having bipolar disorder since she was a teenager. She has been
very open about having the disorder, even going so far as to discuss it with several interviewers. This
lyric is her assuring herself that she s stronger than everything that s trying to hold her

Merusault Compare Contrast Essay
Each individual has distinguishing characteristics that can either separate them from the majority or
can place them in the majority. What may seem different may actually be very similar to another. As a
human in society, one must adapt to social norms or be looked at as an outcast because within the
society we live in there is a certain criteria that has already been created and has been passed from
generations to generation where if one doesn t adhere to this standard they are then portrayed as
indifferent. Although an individual may try to adapt to social norms, they will always be targeted for
normality not being natural to them because being normal is supposed to be in an individual from their
surroundings. Society forgets that each individual ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Meursault expresses his self in his mind whereas, Kasper analyzes his surroundings and is vocal with
his opinions. Merusault is very inquisitive but he chooses to remain unnoticed by not voicing out his
opinions. For example: When Raymond questions him on how he should punish his ex girlfriend,
Merusault just agrees with Raymond s understanding because he doesn t know how to truly express
his emotions when asked. Merusault chooses not to verbally vocalize his opinion but mentally process
it. Merusault just sits backs and follows Raymond s opinions and feelings in the moment because
when an individual is vocal in society, their opinions must conform to society ideologies. If one doesn
t comply with such beliefs they will be viewed as different. The only place you can see Meursault
analyzing his surroundings is in his mind because that is his safe heaven. Society keeps one confined
from being vocal about how they should feel because the fear of being judged or looked at differently
has already been instilled in you. The control of when to speak and when not to speak is a form a fear
based on how others will think of them if they don t say the right thing. In relation, Kasper is not
afraid of sharing his point of view with others. For example: In the case of the wealthy man who
accepted Kasper into his home, he taught Kasper common knowledge but when the doctor gave his
understanding of how if an apple was to fall from a tree the apple would know when to stop. Kasper
listened but then vocalized his opinion stating that the apple is uncontrollable until man stops the
apple from rolling himself. Kasper is a character who thinks outside of the norm. Bing an extrovert he

Advertisers Sell Images Not Products Essay
The definition of advertising is outdated. It was previously, to endorse a product and praise goodness
to induce the public to buy. They are now brainwashing consumers to buy their products using images
to sell the product. The advertiser s aim is to make the product look as good as it can through an
attractive image. There are statistics, which I obtained from a Dolly Magazine, 16th May 2000, which
proves that one out of four people in Australia buy a product because of the image shown in the
advertisment. The images are eye catching and mention something important about the product.
Ultimately it is true that, Advertisers sell images, not products.
The environment plays a very important role in advertising. In an advertisment I found ... Show more

Of course this is just an image trying to sell and endorse phone sex. Their gestures are important
because they are referring to be living without a care in the world. The ways they lay in the spas or on
the beds indicate they are relaxed and restful, this appeals to men. The symbols in this advert are
definitely what they are on, i.e.: spas, pools or beds. This specifies that these girls live in a perfect and
carefree world.
This brings me onto the next subject, appeals. Appeals are relating the audience with the product with
a story and emotions. The positioning of the advertisements has to be put in spots where they will
appeal to a certain audience. 40 50 year old males, teenagers etc. The can be a change from ugly to
beautiful miraculously which would appeal to teenagers because at their age they are self conscious.
Statistics are also used to appeal to the audience. If the public hears statistics they are instantly drawn
in. A perfect example of appealing to an audience is the notorious Nescafe advertisement. This
consists of a man and woman who meet each other over a cup of Nescafe. There is emotion involved
and this draws the audience in. There is a sequence of ads in this story and the audience is drawn in so
much that when there is the nest sequence they are practically glued to the television to know how it
ends. In thee and they get married, Of course every advertisement includes a cup of Nescafe but that s

Gregory Bateson and his Quest to Unify our Minds
Introduction: Thesis and introduce good old Gregory...1/2 page Gregory Bateson was an
anthropologist, psychoanalyst, and cybernetics who contributed to multiple subfields within
anthropology along with other fields in the social sciences. Bateson never completely settled into one
field, but rather, he synthesized his knowledge to incorporate it into his epistemology and
methodologies. Gregory Bateson s contributions to anthropology range from providing new methods
of ethnography, helping to establish the field of visual anthropology, influencing ecological,
psychological, and linguistics anthropology, to moving cybernetic theory from the natural sciences to
the social sciences.
Background, Education, and Influences: 1 to 2 pages Gregory Bateson was born in Grantchester,
England to an aristocratic family in 1904 (Stagoll 2006). His father, William Bateson, was a prominent
geneticist who founded the Cambridge School of Genetics and coined the term genetics (Stagoll
2006). William Bateson was a strong advocate of the work of geneticist Gregor Mendel and named
Gregory in his honor (Stagoll 2006). Following in his father s footsteps, Gregory Bateson received his
bachelor s degree in natural sciences at St. Johns at Cambridge where his grandfather, William Henry
Bateson, held the position of master (Levy and Rappaport 1982). After publishing his first paper about

Social And Social Changes In Japan During The Tokugawa Period
Firstly, Japan s political structure was transformed to really large extent during the Meiji era as it
brought about changes such as in the manner of governing the people, parliament structure as well as
the reform in policies that the Japanese were forced to sign with the Western powers such as the
United States of America and Great Britain. During the Tokugawa period the Emperor Meiji limited
the power of the samurai removing exclusive rights such as their right to punish commoners and he
also removed their right to be the only armed force in Japan, in favour of westernized military with
several different armed sections. In addition, the Emperor sent scholars to Britain, France and
Germany to study their parliament as well as study the way these Western nations operated.
Eventually the Emperor appointed Ito Hirobumi to select an adequate constitution for the new empire
of Japan. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Education was a main social system that changed during modernization. In the Edo period, school was
only for children of people in higher classes. Now it was mandatory for all children to take. In 1871,
the Japanese government established a Ministry of Education. It was designed to break down class
identities which helped raise the standard of living in Japan. In 1884 an important man named Mori
Arinori became the Minister of Education for Japan. He restructured the school system which stayed
in place for sixty years. As well, he established the Imperial University which was later renamed the
Tokyo University. These changes that were made influenced people all over Japan. The government
believed that Japan would become a more powerful country if their citizens were educated. The
government taught values such as national identity and loyalty to the Emperor. This helped unite

President Reagan And The Soviet Union
During the cold war era, President Reagan s strong anti Soviet feelings and rhetorical attack style was
an approach that his own administration saw as extreme and even dangerous (Rowland, p 23). And
unlike many American leaders before him, who avoided the strained relations between the United
States and Soviet Union, President Reagan set out to exploit and end communist tyranny. President
Reagan s devotion to ending tyranny was stronger than any other leader during the time period. For
example, he criticized the Carter administration for their failure to deal with the adventurousness of
the Soviet Union (Fisher, p 303). He believed that their foreign policy enabled the Soviet Union to
view the United States in a weak and vulnerable state. President Reagan s staunch opposition to
communism and his willingness to confront the Soviet Union during a time when it was not popular,
played a key role in the failure of the Soviet Union. Aiding him in his lone stand against tyranny was
his rhetoric style of ideological and moral clarity. A rhetoric style that he utilized to demonstrate a
strong moral position towards the Soviet Union, while reducing the risk of conflict. In doing so he was
able to set the stage for successful negotiation between the two nations (Rowland, p 24). This essay
will examine Ronald Reagan s June 12, 1987, address at the Brandenburg Gate. Mainly, the rhetoric
style of ideological and moral clarity , he utilized to exploit the Soviet Union, while

D Day During World War II
Aiden Ferguson Mrs. Huff History 9 December, 2015 D Day D day was a massive turning point in
World War II and it gave the allies a chance to fight back against the axis. World War II also known as
the Second World War was a global war that lasted from 1939 to 1945. It was the most widespread
war in history, and directly involved more than 100 million people from over 30 countries. It all began
on 1 September, 1939 with the invasion of Poland by Germany and subsequent declarations of war on
Germany by France and the United Kingdom. From late 1939 to early 1941, in a series of campaigns
and treaties, Germany conquered or controlled much of continental Europe, and formed the axis
alliance with Italy and Japan. For a year starting in late ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first major battle was Juno and it was landed on by Canadians. The objectives of the 3rd Division
on D Day were to cut the Caen Bayeux road, seize the Car piquet airport west of Caen, and form a link
between the two British beaches of Gold and Sword on either side of Juno Beach. The landings
initially encountered heavy resistance from the German 716th Infantry Division; the preliminary
bombardment proved less effective than had been hoped and rough weather forced the first wave to be
delayed until 07:35. The beach was defended by two battalions of the German 716th Infantry
Division, with elements of the 21st Panzer Division in reserve near Caen. The Canadians took heavy
casualties in the opening minutes of the first wave. Strength of numbers, as well as coordinated fire
support from artillery and armored squadrons, cleared most of the coastal defenses within two hours
of landing. The subsequent push inland towards Car piquet and the Caen Bayeux railway line
achieved mixed results. The sheer numbers of men and vehicles on the beaches created lengthy delays
between the landing of the 9th Brigade and the beginning of substantive attacks to the south. The 7th
Brigade encountered heavy initial opposition before pushing south and making contact with the 50th
Infantry Division at Creully. The Queen s Own Rifles of Canada had reached its D Day objective, and
the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division had succeeded in pushing farther inland than any other

Inhumanity In Lord Of The Flies
In the Roman Empire, England, France, and the Middle East, ever since people have been around,
there has always been conflict and fighting. A common theme in war is inhumanity. For example, in
World War I mustard gas would produce terrible blisters on soldiers who were exposed to it. Empathy
for those suffering young men was not present in those causing the pain. While war is still ongoing in
the world, Europe is much more peaceful today then it was a hundred years ago and people in general
are being taught to resolve conflict in a humane way. Since William Golding wrote Lord of the Flies
there have been many improvements in society over the last 70 years. While William he was alive,
teenagers were often mean and inhumane like those portrayed ... Show more content on

Golding would be fascinated and satisfied to know that society today accepts people s differences and
tries to help them out, something that didn t happen in the 1950s. Nowadays, people are willing to
help others when something tragic arises. In Lord of the Flies a plane crashes and the boys aboard are
forced to survive on the deserted island. Ralph, the original leader, needs to build shelter but he ends
up, working with Simon and No one else while the rest of the boys are bathing, or eating, or playing
(Golding, 50). These lines suggest that during the 1950s, and in the Lord of the Flies , people were not
likely to help each other. Since Golding is a religious man, he would not appreciate that people do not
help each other (Kruger, 90). In recent history, Hurricane Harvey hit Texas, causing immense flooding
and damage. Texas is different from the rest of the United States culturally, yet people from around the
country were able to put aside these differences and help those in need. For example, Anheuser Busch
stopped its beer production in order to make cans of water for those in need. Though this cost the
company profit, they were willing to sacrifice their prosperity simply to help others. Golding would be
surprised

Sources Of New Business Ideas
Sources of New Business Ideas According to Hisrich, sources for new business ideas come from five
different thing; Customers, existing products and services, distribution channels, the federal
government, and research and development (Hisrich, 2013). Hisrich lays out these five different
channels but there are many other things that can produce a business idea, such as something as
simple as an entrepreneur having an issue in his/her life and creates something to make that issue
disappear. By far the most popular source of ideas among respondents was a frustration that the
founder experienced in his or her personal life. Ever wonder how much your own problems might be
worth? Ask Kent Plunkett, who founded Salary.com when hiring a secretary and finding himself
unsure of what to pay. After building the world s largest compensation information database, Kent
eventually took the company public in 2007 at a valuation of $175M (Gulati, 2013). New business
ideas are imperative for many companies survive within their particular market due to the innovative
nature of most markets in this era. One source of new business ideas that the book shared is observing
the existing products and services within a market. So looking at what you or someone else s is

  • 2. Determination And Determination Is The Most Important In Life Determination means something different to everyone, to me it means persevering through any and all the obstacles life throws at me. Without any willpower, I d never get anything done, and for that reason, I m glad to say that determination and strength are most important in my life. It serves a role in my current life, as well as it will in my future to enable me to be the best version of myself. Every day is a new struggle, passing tests, turning in homework, keeping my GPA from tanking, it s almost impossible for me to get through all of this without tenacity. When I m staying up until 2:00 a.m finishing loads of homework and projects, the one thing that keeps me from cuddling up in a warm blanket and passing out, is my determination to finish the work I ve been given. I nurture this human capacity in my day to day life, not only in my schoolwork but in my social life. Like any pair, me and my best friend fight, we ll have friendship droughts , as my mom would say. In spite of all the fighting, I stick with her because I know all the bickering won t last and there will come a day when I ll be glad to have my best friend by my side. However, sometimes we do lose people for good and it s hard to let go of the past and move on into the future. When my grandfather passed away, I felt like I didn t know how to live anymore. I couldn t imagine getting through life without the one person I confided in most, the person that always put a smile on my face. I was grief stricken, and the only thing that allowed me to keep my composure and not fall apart like a brittle vase was my hope that I d make it past this chapter of my life and move on to better things. Hope is what drives us, it s what makes us strong, and enables us to keep on keepin on , as some would say. This determination I ve referenced is what is needed in large amounts for my future job prospects as well. For a while now, I ve dreamt of starting up my own restaurant or maybe becoming a lawyer, both require enormous quantities of mental and emotional strength. For the restaurant, I would have to endure restless nights studying for culinary school, after which I proceed to acquire a building suitable for my business, hire a staff, spend numerous hours ... Bend It Like Beckham Religion Jessica Neale English 101 Vories 8 October 2015 Religious and Cultural Restrictions Bend it like Beckham explores the women s soccer world and shows how you might have to alternate and bend some of the rules in order to reach your goals. Certain religions have limitations against what activities they can take part in and differentiating between right and wrong. We as white Americans are unbelievably over privileged. The society we live in today is home to some of the most ignorant people. When it comes to how lucky and privileged we are, living in a free country with the rights that we have should be one of the most grateful gifts given to us. • 4. Fear In The Odyssey The Hero s Journey, as defined by Joseph Campbell, is a set of stages a protagonist must undergo to reinter into his known and normal world after facing many challenges. One specific challenge the hero must face is described as the Supreme Ordeal, which is the moment the greatest fear is confronted. In The Odyssey, Odysseus must kill the suitors who took over his household to reach the next stage of his journey. As Odysseus slaughters the suitors in the hall of his home in Book 22, not only does he enter the Supreme Ordeal stage of the Hero s Journey to face his greatest fear, but also is one phase closer to reintegrating with society. Joseph Campbell, an American scholar, defined the Hero s Journey in twelve separate stages within two halves, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While earlier books in The Odyssey describe Odysseus fear in his own words, Book 22 is the first incident in which his fear is physically both described and displayed. This display of fear is further expressed when Athena as Mentor asks Odysseus, Where s it gone, Odysseus your power, your fighting heart? (22.236) This question not only represents the great fear circulating through the hero in the moment, but also symbolizes his hitting bottom. Athena, once greatly praising the courage of Odysseus, hit new heights of rage (22.234) when he became overcome with fear as more suitors and enemies gathered in the hall, waiting to kill him. Athena then goes as far as to mock the fear that overcame Odysseus when she states now you ve returned to your own house, your own wealth / bewail the loss of your combat strength in a war with suitors? (22.242 243) This emphasis on suitors shows both their inner weakness and the disgust Athena has towards them, giving Odysseus the advantage in the slaughter. This advantage is demonstrated when six of the suitors attempt to attack Odysseus and his comrades with spears, but Athena sent the whole salvo wide of the mark (22.269). Immediately after, Odysseus and his comrades return the attack and successfully kill four of the opposing men. After another round of slaughtering success, Odysseus begins to overcome the fear of the Supreme Ordeal. This fear is not lost; however, for it is turned around and placed on the remaining suitors by Athena when she terrifies the suitors out of their minds, and down the hall they panicked / wild, like herds stampeding, driven mad as the darting gadfly / strikes in the late spring when the ling days come round (22.313 315). Incident response occurs during the incident, however, disaster recover occurs after the incident has taken place (Whitman Mattord, 2012). Adequately preparing for disasters would help in fast recovery. For example, fire is a catastrophic disaster, so backups should be at off site location to minimize the damage caused to clients, employees, stakeholders and investors. Disaster recovery plan must be developed and implemented with top down support across all departments in an organization. Every department in an organization must contribute to the disaster plan. IT team should write the disaster plan because they have a deep insight into the company wide business process. IT department is in the unique position of understanding of the daily operations of each department, as well as constant communication with leads within those each department. Without a cross departmental participation it is impossible to put out a proper plan. The disaster plan should include more possible scenarios because the cause of disaster is more. The following are considered as disasters in the typical organization: 1) Employee fraud 2) Stolen laptop 3) Fire 4) Terrorist attacks To effectively face the disaster the disaster plan should be distributed across an organization because everyone knows their role within the plan. • 8. Emotional Intelligence Vs Cognitive Intelligence I believe emotional intelligence stands ahead of cognitive intelligence by a little though latter is equally powerful too. Emotional Intelligence Quotient is defined as a set of competencies demonstrating the ability one has to recognize his or her behaviors, moods, and impulses, and to manage them best according to the situation (Chib, 2012). Traditional cognitive intelligence is the ability to plan, reason, and use logical deduction to solve problems, but also the capability to apply abstract thinking while learning from and responding to the environment ( What is traditional cognitive intelligence? , 2016). Emotional Intelligence is more important simply because it determines how much mentally and psychologically strong and consistent a person is and the very same strength drives us to keep doing things that are in the path of success. Ashforth Humphrey (1995) say that it is a common belief that, when emotions are intertwined with role, performance, or both, they tend to interfere with task achievement. However, to be emotionally intelligent is to be able to let out emotions the right way. When we are able to stay humble during success and determined during failures, patient during anger and calm during frustration, we basically already win. However, on the other hand, no matter how logical we are, if we are just restless, then it will not be worthwhile. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (2012). Today, their estimated numbers range from 450,000 to 700,000 for African elephants and 35,000 to 40,000 for Asian elephants. Like most animals, elephants also play significant role in the ecosystem. The elephants help maintain suitable habitats for other species. They pull down trees, clear out heavy bushes, dig waterholes and create openings in the dense forests. Several tree species rely entirely upon elephant droppings for seed dispersal and germination. Elephants require larger habitats to maintain food supply that has brought them in direct competition with human race for living space. The ever increasing human population has pushed elephants into smaller areas, exposing them to human contact and hindering their freedom to roam. Unlike most novels of its time, Dracula not only showcased the ideals of its era, but it completely flipped it on its head. Firstly, there are numerous examples of female sexuality and symbolism throughout the entire novel. In Victorian society, it was believed that women had no sex drive and only partook in sex when their male partners insisted. It was unheard of for a female to be sexually assertive in any way, and such an idea would likely have been a very disturbing and frightening concept to a conservative society. Stoker basically wrote Mina to represent the ideal Victorian woman with even Van Helsing praising her saying that she is one of God s women, fashioned by His own hand to show us men and other women that there is a heaven where we can enter, and that its light can be here on earth. • 14. Essay on The Ontological Argument for the Existence of God The Ontological Argument for the Existence of God The ontological argument is an a priori argument. The arguments attempt to prove God s existence from the meaning of the word God. The ontological argument was introduced by Anselm of Canterbury in his book Proslogion. Anselm s classical argument was based on two principals and the two most involved in this is St Anselm of Canterbury as previously mentioned and Rene Descartes. The ontological argument argues that if you understand what it means to talk about God, you will see His existence is necessarily true. Anselm defined God as that than which nothing greater can be conceived , hence God must exist. Anselm also believed that even ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If He did not exist, then you could still think of an even greater being (one just like God that you said did not exist, except this one would exist). Existence must be one of God s attributes because to remove it, you would still be able to fathom a greater God (one which does exist). The problem most have with this argument is that it seems to simply list existence among God s attributes, rather than show it. The argument appears to say whatever you can imagine should be true in reality. Descartes claimed God exists is true, if we know what it means to talk of God. Similarly, he maintained that once we know what a triangle is we know that it must have three sides. Like a triangle inherently must have three sides, so God inherently must exist. Objections to the ontological argument were first brought up by a monk who was a contemporary of Anselm named Gaunilo. He said that according to Anselm s line of reasoning, if he envisioned an island that is beautiful and sparkling and completely perfect, then it must exist. For an island that does exist would be more perfect than one that does not exist. Gaunilo said that we cannot simply define things into existence. We cannot show an island or God exists simply by analyzing that idea. A critique of Descartes comes from the philosopher David Hume who argued against the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Plato develops during the progress of the story an analogy, where he pictures slaves being only exposed to a limited reality of shadows inside a cave, when one of them is liberated to the outside of the cavern, facing realism and opening his comprehension, his former partners question his mental stability thinking he was affected by what he saw after his freedom. Plato as the author of the piece, and as the character narrating the analogy, is trying to explain the incomprehension suffered by the philosopher, putting the philosopher as the inquisitive being who discovers reality, experiencing the disapproval of the non philosopher world: the slaves. The essay The Myth of the Cave by Plato is well written because of his utterly original structure which does not follow a classic flow, because the piece flows smoothly between the conversation of Plato and his interlocutor and the myth being narrated on Plato s parts, one does not realize this unusual structure is implemented to deliver the message exquisitely. The general purpose of the piece is not seen until the intermediate paragraphs when Plato says: ...The prison house is the world of sight, the light of the fire is the sun, and you will ... CLIMATE CHANGE SHOULD BE A POLITICAL AND NOT A SCIENTIFIC PROBLEM Climate change should be a political and not a scientific problem Mariel Falcon Miami Dade College SPC1017 Fundamentals of Speech Fall Term/ TR 5:40 6:55pm Instructor: Kenia Brown CLIMATE CHANGE SHOULD BE A POLITICAL AND NOT A SCIENTIFIC PROBLEM Introduction Global warming has become one of the most important scientific, political and economic issues. According to the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), the period between 1995 and 2006 seems to have been one of the warmest yet recorded since 1850 relevant variables such as changes in ocean temperatures, changes in terrestrial ecosystems, the decrease in the extent of snow and ice in the northern hemisphere, the shortening of the cold seasons, melting glaciers, reduction in the extent of permafrost and rising sea level, provide clear evidence of that the world is warming (Miller, 2013). Delay and limit climate change requires long term, large international effort. The most important is the current via the United Nations Convention on Climate Change has given, but it is also important to take preventive measures at national level (Gonzales, 2013). Industrialized countries have made some progress, albeit limited, in curbing GHG emissions (greenhouse gasses) recognizing the urgent need to develop specific policies, such as the use of emissions permits, taxes energy and environmental, industrial voluntary measures, regulatory ... • 18. E Commerce And Its Impact On Waste Management According to Pawar and Driva (2000), not every firm is ready to embrace e commerce as it could lead to serious security, legal and financial problems. Back in early 2000s those hurdles of e commerce limited the confidence of companies in terms of Internet based business integration (Prasad et al., 2000). The research by Quayle (2002) revealed that small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the UK would generally focus on waste management rather than adopting e commerce. Moreover, some critics even predicted an imminent collapse of e commerce (Wallace, 2000). Surprisingly for the oppositionists, wide use of e business initiatives has proved its impact on waste management with the adaption of electronic data interchange, electronic catalogue ordering, e mail, mobile telephone, direct link ups with suppliers According to the research in the lean manufacturing conducted by Toyota Production System, companies encounter 7 types of waste in their operations: overproduction, defects, over processing, inventory, transportation, waiting, motion (El Namrouty et al., 2013). Different business model of ecommerce companies as opposed to brick and motors` enables reduction or elimination of some of those types of waste (reduced paper transactions, shorter order cycle time and the subsequent inventory reduction). The changes result in speedy transmission of information, enhanced supplier/buyer partnership through web communication networks (Gulledge et al., 1998) and cost savings. Moreover, if ... • 21. Defining Accreditation Accreditation is defined as a verification system in which correctional agencies must comply with under the American Correctional Association. Privatization brings about competition between prisons and jails in the community. As a result, prisons and jails are encouraged to make improvements as deemed necessary. In addition to affecting prisons and jails, accreditation and privatization also has an effect on the professional development of corrections officers. In recent years, the correctional administration has become quite familiar with accreditation and professionalization. For example, the correctional administration is familiar with professionalization because there are many people residing in the United States whom work within the field of corrections. These job titles include but are not limited to probation officers, parole officers, and police officers. It is very imperative for parole and probation officers to remain professional when dealing with their clients. Also, correctional officers must remain professional when working with their clients. The only difference is the degree of professionalism between parole/probation officers and correctional officers. In order for an individual to become either a probation or parole officer, he or she must obtain a college degree. He or she must also have a clean record with no criminal activity. • 22. The Implementation Of The 21st Century Essay The implementation of the 21st century skills requires the development of the core academic subject its knowledge and understanding among all students. In the K 12 curriculum the development of scientifically, technologically, and environmentally literate and productive members of society who are critical problem solvers, responsible stewards of nature, innovative and creative citizens, informed decision makers and effective communicators is the Science curriculum goal. To carry out this goal, the teaching of science has to be done using inquiry based approach or inquiry based learning as the main teaching and learning strategy. Inquiry based learning or IBL has long been used as a teaching strategy in science, however, this strategy has been either misunderstood or misused by the implementers. First of all, it is often thought of that all laboratory activities and experiments are inquiry based. McComas (1997) defined science pedagogical strategies in an attempt to provide a new foundation for laboratory learning. He made distinctions in the terms; activity (exercise), cookbook activity, deductive laboratory, discovery, discretion, experiment, hands on, inductive laboratory, laboratory, practical work, openness, simulation and verification activity. These terms do not only provide a basis for discussion among science teachers but as an analytical tool to determine the usefulness and appropriateness of the laboratory activity. The seminar focuses on the study of the effect of compressed natural gas (CNG) and diesel fuel injection pressures, together with the amount of fuel injected during the pilot injection for different operating conditions, on combustion development, engine emission levels and fuel consumption. 1 1. INTRODUCTION Nowadays the internal combustion engines are spread to the extent that they represent the main cause of pollutant production. Nevertheless, it is well known that the stocks of fuels traditionally used in this kind of engines will be able to satisfy the world s needs for few more decades. This explains the massive research activity, drawn all over the world, addressed to the utilization of innovative fuels and injection concepts in order to either replace the traditional ones or obtain a more efficient and clean combustion. Compared to diesel engines, characterized by a high efficiency but at the same time high levels of articulate, and to premixed charge gasoline engines, characterized by a low efficiency because of knock limitations and pumping losses, lean burn engines can reach a higher efficiency thanks to lower pumping losses and heat transfer. On the contrary, lean mixtures generally imply higher levels of both total unburned hydrocarbons (THC) and carbon monoxide. Nevertheless, mixing the fuel with an increasing quantity of air, flame instability, sometimes leading to misfiring, is observed.

While shadowing Pediatric PA Nick Constantino, I found he meet all the competencies in our profession, but the two that stood out to me the most were patient care and medical knowledge. During the time I spent shadowing PA Constantino, I was able to notice how well rehearsed he was with medical literature. We saw about eight patients who presented with varying complaints such as spontaneous nocturnal leg pain, foreign body in ear, wellness checks, possible celiac disease, refill for medications, change of medications, and cold like symptoms. I was particularly interested on how he handled the case with the spontaneous nocturnal leg pain. According to the mother, the child would wake up in the middle night with bilateral leg pain that was soothed with warm baths and Motrin. In fact, their own theories are able to offer a valid evidence of the nineteenth century s political and religious debates, and for this reason, I am going to analyse the interpretation of Dante s work by Ugo Foscolo, through both, the Discorso sul testo della Divina Commedia , and two articles that Foscolo published in the Edinburgh Review in 1818; in addition, I am going to analyse the interpretation by Rossetti through his work titled ... Obviously, being impossible to summarize the vast, esoteric, exegesis of Dante proposed by them, I am feeling obliged to try to highlight some common key of readings as, for example: 1) the relation between the symbol of the Cross (representing the Roman Church) and the Eagle (representing the Empire), whose doctrines are linked to mankind s need for salvation. These two institutions (Church and Empire), according Dante s thought, had to be both settled at the centre of Rome, as at the time of the Holy Roman Empire. In addition, according to Foscolo, Rossetti and Valli, Dante attacked the Church exclusively because he wanted the renewal of the spiritual dimension, where the Church had to abandon its material interests, leaving exclusively to the Empire the task to unify Peoples under a unique government. In this way, both Church and Empire would have been able to help humankind for their spiritual and material ends. 2) Another common key of reading, for Foscolo, Rossetti and Valli, is linked with the symbol of Beatrice, which is seen by the three interpreters, not as a real woman, but as a symbol of the wisdom, present in many ancient traditions. 3) I will try to highlight the fact that the esoteric reading of Dante, is considered by both, Foscolo and Rossetti in key heterodox, neo Pythagorean and Ghibelline, while it is considered by Valli in super catholic key. Friction, gravity, potential energy, kinetic energy, circuits and momentum are just a few of the aspects of physics apply. The first thing to do to start a game of pinball is to insert the coin. This alone requires many fundamental aspects of physics. The player inserts the coin and lets gravity take over. Gravity accelerates the coin to a certain speed in a specific direction or what is called velocity. The coin, which has mass, is now moving at a certain velocity. The coin now has linear momentum. To find the momentum of the coin we would take the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The player has now compressed the spring in the ball shooter. The ball sitting in the ball shooter is at rest. It will be at rest until acted on by an unbalanced force. This is Newton s first law of motion, the law of inertia (Kirkpatrick and Wheeler p31). The ball shooter is then released the spring decompresses and strikes the ball sending it up the incline to the top of the pinball playing field. The strike on the ball is called the impulse. The time interval it takes for the ball momentum to change. Since the ball has no momentum because it has zero velocity the ball shooter transfers its momentum at the impulse (The Ball Shooter 2003). This also takes place in the time frame of about a second. The ball now has kinetic energy. Kinetic energy like momentum in that it comes from the mass of the object and its velocity. Kinetic energy was transferred from the plunger to the ball just like momentum was but only if the collision was elastic. During and elastic collision kinetic energy is conserved. The balls kinetic energy is half of its momentum squared. This means the balls momentum is its mass multiplied by velocity, and then it is squared and divided by two. If the velocity or speed of the ball is reduced by one half then the overall kinetic energy is reduced by a factor of four (Kirkpatrick and Wheeler p.106) The ball uses this kinetic energy to move up the usually 6 to 7 degree incline to the top of the playing field. The most thorough account of judicial practice would then have to go on to study the education and training of judges, and their embedding within a particular culture or cultures of legal behaviour. What are the consequences of this argument? If practices are essentially ways of acting in given circumstances, any general theory may be too distant from the practice to capture how judges actually interpret cases. Judicial interpretation is always a matter of a specific case and a singular set of facts. To understand why a judge in a particular case comes to a particular conclusion necessitates a study of a precise legal context. In other words, a general account of precedent perhaps tells us more about the practice of academic writing than it does about the work of judges. It may be that the best way to understand the practice of judicial interpretation is to abandon any general account, and to see how it proceeds in different doctrinal areas of law. This would indicate that the best way to understand the practice of precedent is to study cases within their specific contexts†. † Precedence and judicial creativity However, given that we need a general account of precedent, we can suggest some overarching concerns that structure judicial practice. The historical beginnings of the present doctrine of precedent obscure the extent to which judicial practice is creative. Many people have criticized Halsey s lyrics for being generic, however, they are creative and carefully written, but may not appeal to everyone. One of her best lyrics is a fan favorite, you were red, and you liked me because I was blue. But you touched me and suddenly I was a lilac sky, and you decided purple just wasn t for you. They are now brainwashing consumers to buy their products using images to sell the product. The advertiser s aim is to make the product look as good as it can through an attractive image. • 49. President Reagan And The Soviet Union During the cold war era, President Reagan s strong anti Soviet feelings and rhetorical attack style was an approach that his own administration saw as extreme and even dangerous (Rowland, p 23). And unlike many American leaders before him, who avoided the strained relations between the United States and Soviet Union, President Reagan set out to exploit and end communist tyranny. President Reagan s devotion to ending tyranny was stronger than any other leader during the time period. For example, he criticized the Carter administration for their failure to deal with the adventurousness of the Soviet Union (Fisher, p 303). He believed that their foreign policy enabled the Soviet Union to view the United States in a weak and vulnerable state. President Reagan s staunch opposition to communism and his willingness to confront the Soviet Union during a time when it was not popular, played a key role in the failure of the Soviet Union. Aiding him in his lone stand against tyranny was his rhetoric style of ideological and moral clarity. A rhetoric style that he utilized to demonstrate a strong moral position towards the Soviet Union, while reducing the risk of conflict. In doing so he was able to set the stage for successful negotiation between the two nations (Rowland, p 24). This essay will examine Ronald Reagan s June 12, 1987, address at the Brandenburg Gate.
