2. The Christian Martyr By Gabriel Von Max
For my observation essay, I chose the piece The Christian Martyr by Gabriel von Max, which is on
display at the Frye Art Museum, it is oil on paper, painted in 1867. I find this piece illustrates multiple
principles of design the ones standing out most clearly to me being balance, implied line, and
emphasis through repetition. Hue, saturation, and value play into most of these principles as well. A
strong sense of balance is created by the elements of the piece, namely the horizon splitting the
painting nearly in half with a light gray on top, and a dark brown on the bottom. Value plays a an
important role here, as the lower value of the brown causes the piece to feel heavier while the higher
value of the gray has the reverse effect, making it feel much lighter. The fact that the gray fills
comparatively more space in the piece creates a visually striking balance. As the gradient progresses
from very light gray to a darker gray, as it nears the horizon line, it contributes to the sense of weight

The use of the same, or very similar, colors in multiple small details creates a nice connection between
important elements of the painting, and also plays a part in leading your eye around the painting. As
the brightest and most saturated color in the piece, the orange pink used for the details of the woman s
shoes, the flowers in the man s hand, the highlight in his hair, and, finally, the light glow under the
woman s arms stands out very strongly, creating a strong emphasis on these small details. It creates
interest, and almost a sense of fun, as the viewer is lead on a journey from the woman s shoes, to the
flowers, to the highlight in the man s hair. Here the implied line, and therefore directional forces, from
the man s line of sight leads the viewer s eye up to the woman, and the final bit of orange pink color
underneath the woman s

3. Financial Planning
FINANCIAL PLANNING AND CONTROL
Part One
I. Overview of the Planning Process A long term financial plan begins with strategy. Typically, the
senior management team conducts an analysis of the markets in which the firm competes. Managers
try to identify ways to protect and increase the firm s competitive advantage in those markets. For
example, the first priority of a firm that competes by achieving the lowest production cost in an
industry might be to determine whether it should make additional investments in manufacturing
facilities to achieve even greater production efficiencies. Of course, being the low cost producer is
difficult if the firm s fixed assets are chronically underutilized. This type of firm therefore will spend a

Figure 1.0 Sustainable Growth Equality
As a firm grows, it must invest in new assets to support increased sales volume. The investments in
new assets must be financed with some combination of increased liabilities and increasesd equity.
Interpreting the Sustainable Growth Model
The model does not say anything about how fast the firm should grow but it gives ideas on how a firm
can benefit using this concept: The primary advantage of the sustainable growth is its simplicity. The
sustainable growth model gives managers a kind of shorthand projection that ties together growth
objectives and financing needs. It provides hints about the levers that managers must pull to achieve
growth above the sustainable rate. It also identifies some of the financial benefits of growing more
slowly than the sustainable rate. The concept also highlights tensions that can develop as firms pursue
multiple objectives simultaneously.
Pro Forma Financial Statements
These are forecasts of what a firm expects its income statement and balance sheet to look like a year
or two ahead. Occassionally, firms use this statements for several reasons: Internal planning and
control purposes. Communicate plans to outside investors. Establish goals to which compensation
may be tied. Predict any liquidity problem with enough lead time to have

4. Shakespeare s Play Othello and Tim Blake Nelson s Film O
Throughout the course of time, societies views have been persuaded by contextual influences, yet the
core human values have remained unaffected. Through the texts by composers William Shakespeare
and Tim Blake nelson and their texts Othello and the late 20th century contemporary film O, the key
values of trust, honesty and loyalty are explored with contextual influences being reflected. The values
are explored with the use of thematic development of the key issues jealousy and appearance vs reality
and the use of dramatic devices in Othello and cinematic techniques in O. Shakespeare s accurate
representation explored these values in an Elizabethan context where the values of loyalty, honour and
fidelity were apparent. In contrast, Tim Blake nelsons film express similar views and attitudes to a
more teenage orientated audience and these values are replaced with modern contextual values such as
popular culture, peer pressure and popularity.
Jealousy plays a major role in Othello as it is the driving force which leads to the plays events being
carried out. The theme of jealousy is prevalent through characterization and the dishonoring of the
values of trust and loyalty. The character if Iago is the main who endures jealousy and dishonours trust
and loyalty which in the end he uses as a method to lead Othello to his downfall. Iago dishonours
Othello s trust by stating My lord, you know I love you but this contrasts with Iago line I follow him
to serve my turn upon him .

5. Spiritualism In The Celestine Prophecy
This essay will critically review The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield. It shall explore the author
s motives after sending a nameless character on a spiritual and dangerous journey through Peru. The
reappearing themes of human connection and spirituality are present all throughout the book as the
protagonist slowly moves away from his skepticism and truly experiences a new way to live. The
Narrator finds himself experiencing the nine prophecies, which was partially explained by a fellow
traveller on a plane, which would predict a spiritual transformation of society in the late twentieth
century. During this adventure he attracts the attention of the catholic church, who wants to keep the
prophecy under their control and keep others that are sharing the path to enlightenment in the dark. To

Redfield is able to both entertain and persuade the reader in many different and unique ways. By
questioning reality in such an interesting fashion, as to say we can become one with the world around
us. Being able to see the world for more then just objects we use to further our agenda of work, eat,
sleep and repeat. Even a person who does not believe could question themselves searching for an
answer to a question they cannot put into words. Effective in purpose but unpopular amongst those
who truly need it. While having such a large impact on most of whom read it, those who need
guidance are not aware of such a book. Religious or not the message of the book stands strong and can
give one a new outlook on life and lead them on a path which harbours mindfulness and a connection
with all living things. With a world so full of negativity towards others the messages within Redfield s

7. Stand And Deliver Movie Citation
Stand and Deliver: Movie about an Educational Setting
In order to complete this assignment, I decided to focus on the educational setting of the film Stand
and Deliver . Stand and Deliver took place in the year 1987 and was focused on demonstrating the life
challenges that students faced in the city of East Los Angeles California. This movie is based on the
true story of a mathematics teacher who motivated high school students at Garfield High School to
learn about calculus. Additionally, this film will identify the context, norms, values, language, gender
roles and the social structures of the movie.
In this film, Garfield high school is located in a poor neighborhood in East Los Angeles. The movie
portrayed this neighborhood as a location that was surrounded by violence, fights, and crimes. Every
night it was very common for the residents living in this neighborhood to witness fights among gang
members, and hear shootings and ambulance sirens. The majority of people who lived in this
neighborhood were Hispanic and Latino. They also lived ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

chores. As a result, the female students believed that completing an education was not important
because their role was to get married at a young age and learn how to raise a household. Similarly,
male students were expected to work and provide income for their families. For many male students,
their role was to work hard at their jobs in order to help their parents pay for rent and household

When comparing and contrasting the marketing strategy of two adult learning programs one must
consider the University of Phoenix as one of those programs. The second that of a traditional
university program with an online, adult centered add on program. Both programs require a marketing
strategy that focus on the adult learner as consumer, but the University of Phoenix simply does
marketing for adults more efficiently. This is likely due to the fact that by and large, the University of
Phoenix is primarily an online program, with its focus squarely on the adult learner. Traditional
university programs are somewhat burdened by the need to adapt an existing marketing strategy to
include adult learning, which can leave questions on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Traditional programs offer easily navigable websites for the traditional student, one just out of high

returning to school with families and career already in place, including video testimonials, program
previews, transfer credit calculators, plain English knowledge bases, live chat, and unfiltered social
media conversations (Maslowsky, 2012). University of Phoenix accomplishes this through the
interactive website, targeted commercials in adult learner rich audience demographics, and easily
navigated web content. Adult learner programs at traditional universities target the traditional college
student, and by and large their websites have information for the adult earner tacked on to pages and
pages of information about the dorm life, meal plans, and campus life. This is a fundamental
difference that bears exploration, and likely frustrates potential students and sends them to a system
which, like University of Phoenix, offers a more tailored approach for the busy adult learner who
wishes to study from home.
As regards web content, the sites for any program should be easily located by prospective students.
The path to a full enrollment begins with content that is optimized for ease of location by potential
students. A professional web content manager, who works to put the program at the top

When socially accepted goals cannot be reached through legitimate means, the structural strain theory
has occurred. A mismatch that occurs between legitimate means and socially promoted goals has a
typology of responses in the strain theory. Merton s typology extends the functionalist perspective. He
believed that larger deviancy rates were because of social conditions and the varying responses. One
of the responses to social strain that accepts legitimate means of pursuing socially promoted goals is
conformity. Another response to social strain is ritualism. People reject or give up the socially
approved goal, but continue pursuing other goals through the same legitimate means (MindEdge,
2015).

College is time consuming. You must make time out for your class study and homework time. I was

also told that getting good grades in college, will get you the degree you are seeking and you should

According to Ernst Young LLP (2015), Netflix is the world s leading Internet television network with
over 57 million streaming members in nearly 50 countries (p. 1). Since its launch in 2007, Netflix has
expanded streaming services internationally into Canada, Latin America, and Europe (Ernst Young
LLP, 2015). However, to continue its success, Netflix must evolve with its business strategy, evaluate
the company s outlook, minimize risk factors, and analyze the auditor s report that will help investors
identify as relevant to an investing decision.
Netflix has a business strategy that is composed of three business segments: domestic streaming,
international streaming, and domestic DVD (Ernst Young LLP, 2015). The two streaming segments
(i.e., domestic and international) derive revenue from monthly membership fees for services
consisting solely of streaming content, while the domestic DVD segment derives revenues solely of
DVD by mail, also from monthly membership fees (Ernst Young LLP, 2015, p. 62). A subscriber can
receive either streaming service or DVD service from one monthly membership fee, but not both
(Ernst Young LLP, 2015).
Netflix has a neutral company outlook to its services because the market for entertainment services is
very competitive and tends to change rapidly (Ernst Young LLP, 2015). For instance, Netflix competes
with video providers such as HBO, who now offers its own streaming services directly to the
customer. As a result, it is

In the straight theatre the director takes the part of the author, and makes the actor see his work (author
and director are one). After incorporating the author s work by way of the director, the actor comes
face to face with the spectator (author and director at the actor s back), and acts freely while enjoying
the give and take of the two main elements of theatre the player and the playgoer. The director alone
must set the tone and style of a performance so that the straight theatre may not become chaotic, and
yet the acting will remain free and unrestrained.
This stylization leads Meyerhold to the arrangement of the stage with flat surfaces , specifically, to
eliminate the scenery and present the actor, as a principal mechanism for theatrical expression. This
marked the beginning of the deconstruction of the stage space. The disarrangement of the stage under
Meyerhold is said to have had its climax in the constructive solution of The Magnificent Cuckold and
The Death of Tarelkin. The stage in these two performances referred to above is said to have

21. Examples Of Justice In No Country For Old Men
In the novel No Country for Old Men by Cormac McCarthy, there is a battle between two versions of
justice. In typical western narratives, the Sheriff is the strong hero who perseveres through battle with
the antagonist, and the good guys always win. However, this novel disrupts this usual ending with the
introduction of a unique antagonist, Chigurh. Chigurh breaks the mold of the typical old western
villain in how he manages to outsmart the law and escape. His escape is a disastrous blow to the
system of justice the Sheriff has spent his life trying to maintain. Through this, the author displays a
twisted, unhappy version of justice in Chigurh and how it compares to Sheriff Bell s typical, objective
notion of justice on the western frontier. This interpretation showcases that sometimes justice is not
between only good and bad, and good does not necessarily always win. With its alternative versions of
justice, the novel illustrates the changing morality of the western frontier, the weakness of moral
driven justice and how these opposing views create individual interpretations of justice compared to
an objective standard.
The Sheriff can be characterized as the hero of this novel. As a law enforcement official, he represents
an objective, straightforward idea of justice. This point of view sees justice as black and white: there

As the sun s nutritious rays fuel my body; sweat races down my back and accumulates into the threads
of my cotton t shirt. I peer over my neighborhood park fence and gaze over the spacious scenery. The
track field was well in shape, free of small debris and ready for a test run and light jump activities in
the sand pit. Soon enough the high temperature fills my head, leaving me in a state of allusion. Images
of my friends and I sporadically unfold in front of me and unto the track; as if being placed in a desert
mirage. I feel a sense of peace and eagerness surge through my body, while the images continue to
appear. Then, a whisper comes into the mix saying some sort of gibberish. Stepping a bit more
cautiously then I regularly would I walked

23. Ethics and The Mining Industry Essay
Everyday minerals from the earth are extracted, removed and formed into something new, when you

from that? beautiful rubies have been created from very specific minerals which are combined

They are either your brethren in religion or your brethren in kind. They are subject to infirmities and

24. The Aeneid, The Hero Aeneas Essay
In Virgil s Aeneid , the hero Aeneas, a Trojan who traveled to Italy, is faced with a series of
challenges. To overcome these challenges, Aeneas seeks help from the gods as he tries to make his
way back home. In Homer s The Odyssey , the hero Odysseus spends ten years trying to return to his
homeland, Ithaca. Both heroes face similar challenges that they need to overcome in order to
accomplish their goals. The Odyssey has two characters that hinder the hero s journey; Calypso and
Circe. The Aeneid has the character Dido who delays Aeneas journey. This essay will compare both
stories, showing similarities and differences of how the hero s journey was delayed.
The Aeneid is a Latin epic poem, written by Virgil between 29 and 19 B.C. The story is centered on
the main character, Aeneas, a Trojan war survivor and leader of the Trojans after the fall of Troy.
Aeneas and his men sail for Italy, where he is destined to found Rome. While sailing for their
destination, a fierce storm redirects the fleet to the island Carthage; ...a howling wind from the North
Struck against the sail. Waves shot to the start. The oars shattered. The prow swung around, Exposing
the side to the waves, and then A mountain of water broke over the fleet...The Trojans disembark on
the welcome beach, Laying their brine soaked bodies on the sand (Virgil, 4,6 7). Dido, Carthage s
founder, welcomes Aeneas and his men. These women Calypso, Circe, and Dido all have one thing in
common. That is to distract the

25. Persuasive Essay On Paying For College
Paying for College When entering high school many students already know what they want to do
when they grow up ; however, many students do not know how they will pay for the college education
to get them there. Some students will strive for the best grades possible to earn scholarship money to
have college funded for them, others will mess around, and end up wishing they had tried harder, and
having to pay for college themselves. Those students will have to have a job during college to be able
to afford books, tuition, and any other fun things they might wish to do while they are away from
home at college. College students working to pay for college tuition or pay off college debt have less
entitlement, more responsibility, and take greater pride in their education; however, college students
who have their college fully funded may feel more entitled around the college campus, have less focus
towards studies, and spend more time at parties, finally they will never understand how much their
education was truly worth. While each student may receive the same education, the values and
attitudes each student has can be even more valuable than the college education itself. Being a young
college student takes a lot of dedication and responsibility; however, being a college student and
working a job to pay for college at the same time takes even more responsibility and dedication.
Students must take accountability for themselves, being able to turn in assignments, study for

Spring Prompt 2016 Greta Slaats
One day I was taking a hike in the Himalayan mountains and came upon a big wall of stone blocking
the path. In the middle of the stone wall was a round little door with a key hanging on a hook beside it.
Being cautious I crept up to the door and knocked. I don t know who would have answered the door if
someone had answered. I was puzzled and stuck to the spot thinking of what to do. I decided to walk
back to my village way down below and come back tomorrow to see if the wall was still there. When I
got home I ran straight to the town square to go to my father s workshop. I told Papa all about my
journey in the mountains. He warned me of animals that would take me away to the darkest corners
and eat me up. Just then Tijana came running into the store. There is a tiger in the rice fields! he
shouted. Every once in awhile the wild beasts from the jungle would come into the valley in which the
village sat. Our bravest men would shoot arrows and protect us. When the creature went away or was
dead we would celebrate, but that never ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

because we didn t speak the whole way down. After I had dropped Tijana off at his house I decided to

to the door I heard growling and there was a tiger right about 25 yards away from me. I froze because
he could have killed me right then and there. The only option was to go through the door so I took that

Introduction
Ben Hampers book Rivethead; Tales From The Assembly
Line is a gritty in your face account of a factory workers
struggles against his factory, his co workers, and the time
clock. Hamper makes no apologies for any of his actions,
many of which were unorthodox or illegal. Instead he
justifies them in a way that makes the factory workers
strife apparent to those who have never set foot on an
assembly line and wouldnât have the vaguest idea how much
blood, sweat and tears go into the products we take for
granted everyday.

Analysis
When Henry Ford first developed the idea of the
assembly line he was heralded as one of the most forward
thinking men of his time, and without the assembly line we
would no doubt not be as powerful a nation as we are today.
28. The assembly line principle as it matured in industrial
society however, proved to destroy workers creativity and
stifle the very essence of human life. Growth and change.
On an assembly line workers are degraded to automatons,
performing the same tasks over and over and over. Day in day
out, without ever having any knowledge or input into any of
the other tasks related to completion of the project. This
monotony in the workplace spills over into the daily life of
many factory workers and affects how they live their life
outside of the factory after the whistle blows as much as it
does while theyâre on the assembly line. This spillover was
observed by Hamper of his Grandfather. âStraight home from
work, dinner, the evening news and immediately into bed at
7:00 p.m. He arose each weekday at 3:30 a.m., fixed himself
some black coffee, turned on the kitchen radio, smoked a
handful of Lucky Strikes and waited to leave for work at a
quarter to five. This regimen never varied one iota in the
forty years he worked for GMâ (Hamper pg.6). It is fairly
clear that the monotony of the assembly line has a way of
setting personal routines for itâs

29. The Cons of the Standard Aptitude Test
You are sitting in the testing room, anxiety rushing down your body. The smell of the freshly printed
scantrons consumes your nose. The fears of forgetting the math formulas, running out of time, and not
knowing the answer distract you from focusing on the test. The SAT, in other words, the scholastic
aptitude test, also known as the test that destroys the lives of millions of high school students, is about
to take place and determine your intelligence in the perspective of the various colleges you are about
to apply to. The SAT is a collection of multiple choice sections that unreliably measure a student
performance through critical reading, math, and writing sections, asking questions intended to trick
the test taker and convince them into picking the wrong answer choice. A majority of colleges and
universities require students to take the SAT in addition to submitting their transcripts and college
applications, however they have a standard as to what score a student must receive in order to be
accepted. Thousands of students have their dreams crushed and are rejected from their ideal school
because of the inability to score high on the test out of 2400. Students with limitless amounts of talent
never get the opportunity to nurture their unique skills because the schools focus more on the student s
SAT score, instead of their overall strengths and expertise. SAT scores should not have a prominent
role in college acceptance in that the test is socioeconomically biased to

the highest importance. Both of my parents were always interested in public service and instilled in
me the necessity to help others. From the start of kindergarten until now, they have been supportive in
helping me keep me focused on being a strong student. For this reason, I have chosen to major in
Legal Studies (Pre Law). I am currently pursuing this dream as a freshman, at St John s University in

in my community who at times can be without a voice. Possibly, I would even consider becoming a
public servant on a local political level. In fact, I currently have the great opportunity of interning with
a local politician from my Bergen County. This internship has helped me learn more about the
different aspects of politics, as well as the inner workings of law. My task during this internship has

31. The Pros And Cons Of US Military Bases
The Pros and Cons of US military bases overseas
Lee Mueller
Dr. Sooh Rhee Ryu
POLS 260
16 December 2016
According to Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense James R. Blaker, military bases are installations
routinely used by military forces that supply their personnel with the means and equipment to respond
to a threat within the land it occupies (The Editors, 2011). As the world s only superpower, the US
possesses more military bases in foreign countries than any other state in the entire world. In the year
2015, it was reported that the US had approximately 800 military bases in more than 70 countries
worldwide (Vine, 2015). By projecting power abroad, the US influences transnational and global

To answer this we must look at the stability and political environments that encompass a state because
they play a large role in the ability of other actors to occupy land that it controls. For this reason, the
US should only associate with countries that follow their same beliefs. The US must be cautious as to
what countries that they decide to ally themselves with in order to analyze potential political outcomes
(Lostumbo, Michael J., McNerney, Michael J., Peltz, Eric, 2013). Factors that can play a role can
include a countries economic growth, annual GDP, or if there is ethnic conflict within the territory. If

of overseas bases in underdeveloped and/or developed

When I was young, I was always curious. I was always running all over the place, looking and

around me. Everything was beautiful in its own way. At the zoo, I learned to respect and wonder at the
creation of God. Zoos have been invoking wonder for centuries. They started as menageries,
collections of animals held by rulers, and ended up as education and conservation centers (O Brien).

After all, every year, 175 million people visit American zoos, to learn about or see animals, according
to the Statistic Brain Research Institute ( Zoo Statistics , 1). This large amount of people visiting
means that zoos need a lot of people running them. There are many jobs provided by zoos. Zoo
directors, curators, zookeepers, and veterinarians are just a few of these ( Wildlife Careers ). All these
jobs help lower the unemployment rate, and help to create a stronger economy. Naturally, jobs help the
local economy. But zoos also influence the local economy in other ways. Zoos help boost the local
economy. A study by the Cincinnati Zoo revealed that visitors spent $23.2 million on off site spending
in Cincinnati ( Zoo Boosts Local Economy with Big Regional Impact ). Zoos bring in tourists, who
spend money on hotels, tour guides, public transportation, and in many more places. This extra profit
helps raise the standard of living, and, of course, boosts the economy. Humans benefit from zoo
revenue, but they aren t the only ones. Revenue generated by zoos help increase the zoo animal s
standard of life. Some zoos are updating their habitats, to make conditions better for the animals, such
as the Lied Jungle Exhibit at Omaha s Henry Doorly Zoo (Nichols and Tarpy, 9 14).Such operations
are extremely expensive. In order to pay for such things, they use the revenue generated from
customers of the zoos. Zoos not only use revenue to pay for the care of animals; they also use it to

Is it really possible for women to have it all, both satisfying career and family life simultaneously? In
the following sentences ahead Sheryl Sandberg and two of her contemporaries will try to answer if it
is possible for women to have it all. Sheryl Sandberg is the author of, Lean in: What Would You Do If
You Weren t Afraid? and currently, CEO of Facebook, believes women can really have it all. Growing
up in a Jewish family being reminded of the equality of boys and girls, all the while traditional values
of marriage were very prevalent. At a young age, Sandburg was married and divorced within one year,

For instance, Saul Kaplan, founder of the Business Innovation Factory, extends Sandberg s viewpoint
that women can have it all by enrollment of men in college which is decreasing rapidly. In his article:
The Plight of Young Males , Kaplan shares his resentment of the slowed regression of women in
executive positions. However, the tables are turning more rapidly than one assumes. Similarly, to
Sandberg s statement on gender gap in academic achievement, Kaplan contends, In fact, in each year
since 1982, more American women than men have received bachelor s degrees [sic] Over the last
decade two million more women graduated from college than men. And the gap continues to grow
(733). Kaplan furthermore reinforces Sandberg s illustration on the gender gap in education by
inserting that if today s trends continue unaltered, the last young man in the U.S. to get a college
degree will do so in 2068 (733). Kaplan illustrates this further by presenting low graduation rates of
African American, Latino American and Native American men in college (734). By the illustration
previously mentioned on the low enrollment of males in college creates the pathway for women to
have it all while men may be taking on the traditional role of taking care of the family while women
pursue a career. Kaplan takes the attention off women having it all and illustrates problems relating to
men (734). Kaplan s merely suggesting men are paving the way for women to have it all by the ever
decreasing college enrollments of men which, in advertently, is leading men to lower paying positions
in the workplace. Kaplan agrees with Sandberg s work when she quotes This gender gap in academic
achievement has even caused some to worry about the end of men by suggesting that we need to focus
on both men and women (646). Therefore, there will be an equal balance of men and women in
professional careers while together

35. Three Approaches Of Pragmatics
According to Schmitt (2010), there are two approaches of pragmatics, a cognitive or psychological
approach which is exploring the relation between linguistic meaning of utterances, the
decontextualized, what speakers mean by their utterances on a particular situation and how hearer
interpret those utterances on those particular situations. Cognitive approach was developed by
philosophers Austin, Searle, and Grice. On the other hand, social pragmatics approach which focuses
on the communicative exchanges between individuals in social, cultural and other contextual factors.
Brown and Levinson (1978 1987) introduced face model of politeness to this approach.
The main objective of pragmatics is to study on how non native speakers comprehend and produce
speech acts in a target language. Speech act is not the whole of pragmatics, but is perhaps currently the
most important part of the subject. Many of the topics addressed in both narrow and broad views
derive from three major pragmatic theories: Speech Acts, Conversational Implicatures, ... Show more

In other words, indirectness is a widely used conversational strategy, hence people reduce the
unpleasant message contained in requests and other statement. In indirect speech acts the speaker
communicates to the hearer more than he actually says by way of depending on their mutually shared
background information either both linguistic and nonlinguistic together with the powers of rationality
and inference on the part of the hearer. To be more specific, to explain the indirect speech acts can be
