Abstract
This study investigated the possible relationships between primary and secondary psychopathy and
cognitive empathy.
Is Primary and Secondary Psychopathy Strongly Related to Cognitive Empathy?
Described as a social disorder, psychopathy is a field that has been extensively researched and we
have discovered that it consists of two distinctive subtypes; primary and secondary. There are some
similarities between these two subtypes however a distinction can be made through a subject s
characteristics and traits. Both primary psychopathy (PP) and secondary psychopathy (SP) are
associated with impulsivity, aggression, social isolation due to a lack of convergence with the
social norm , superficial charm and poor behavioural control but primary psychopaths are more
often characterised as callous, manipulative, extremely selfish with a diminished capacity for
remorse and routinely untruthful, where secondary psychopaths are more introverted, socially
anxious with low self esteem (Blackburn Fawcett, 1999). Empathy is essentially the capacity or
ability to understand and share another person s mental experience. Cognitive empathy, is often
referred to as Theory of Mind (ToM) and is conceptualised as the ability to understand and infer the
emotions and

Urban Zones Of The Nineteenth Century
As American towns industrialized all through the nineteenth century, irresistible ailments developed
as a genuine danger. The presentation of new workers and the development of vast urban zones
permitted already confined sicknesses to spread rapidly and contaminate bigger populations.
Consider as industrialization occurred, towns developed into cities, and people relocated to them.
The expanded interest for shoddy lodging by urban vagrants prompted ineffectively assembled
homes that poorly accommodated individual cleanliness. Outside laborers in the nineteenth century
frequently lived in cramped dwellings that consistently lacked fundamental comforts, for example,
running water, ventilation, and toilets. These conditions were perfect for... Show more content on

It was amid this time numerous Britons, Germans, and those of Scandinavian descent the Atlantic

the exception of the Irish Catholics and could mix decently effectively into American culture. New

assortment of battles that will be talked about later on in the article.
For old Irish outsiders, America was a land of new opportunities. Particularly in country groups,
Irish migrants were, for the most part, welcomed and they found jobs easily. A book written in
1870s by an Irish Catholic minister empowered Irish movement by sharing the simplicity of getting

than a quarter century in cash; and from San Francisco, the outing is made in six or seven days,
at an average cost of around one hundred and fifty dollars. The induction is plain that the
displaced person of today has numerous favorable circumstances over his antecedent of a few
years back. Yet, the points of interest here implied are piddling when contrasted and the expanded

The sheer number of paylines allows this game to nudge ahead of its competition. Speaking of
nudge , this actually makes up a key element of this game, as it allows players to shift the reels

My Papa Knultz Analysis
Battered Knuckles While the subject of My Papa s Waltz by Theodore Roethke has spurred
passionate academic debate from professors, scholars, and students alike, the imagery, syntax,
and diction of the poem clearly supports the interpretation that Roethke writes My Papa s Waltz
to reflect back to his sentimental memories with his father. In brief, Roethke leaves the audience
with an unclear understanding of what the meaning of the poem is. In discussions of My Papa s
Waltz, one controversial issue is the father casually plays with the son. On the other hand, some
readers argue that the father is abusing his son straightforwardly. However, after contemplating
the context of the poem and gathering information from the text, it has become undeniably clear
that the poem is about the father abusing his son. Ultimately, Roethke writes My Papa s Waltz to
illustrate a picture of his nostalgic remembrance for the readers. The authors controversial poem
becomes clear when one carefully examines the context of the poem. In stanza one, line one,
Roethke describes the papa in the poem as having whiskey on [his] breath. This line illuminates
the idea of the father being intoxicated; hence, can lead to a change in behavior. Further, the
change in behavior can be the cause of violence towards the child in the poem. Coincidentally,
Roethke s father dies in 1923 at the age of 52; thirty eight years later Roethke writes My Papa s
Waltz, roughly at 52 years of age. The

Professional Sports Ethical Analysis
I don t find that an agent representing more than one athlete on the same team to be unethical. From
the agent s perspective, it is important for him to build his clientele thus building his reputation
amongst athletes. When an athlete hires an agent, they trust that person to handle almost all aspects
of their career, which includes negotiating endorsement deals, career advice, contract negotiations,
and concierge services. Also, if a few playersshare the same agenton the same team, it could
potentially build chemistry between the athletes as far as communicating in the locker room. It is
unethical for an agent to represent a coach and a player on the same team as it could potentially
lead to conflicting interests. Coaches deal with just... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I have seen a few examples of two players that share the same agent on the same team when both
are negotiating new contracts. This creates leverage for that sports agent against the team.
Surely, that team will want to keep their star player but that price becomes steep when the same
agent ups the asking price for the less known player who also needs a new deal. An example I ll
give involved LeBron James and Tristan Thompson. They both share the same agent, Rich Paul.
Another caveat is that Rich Paul is a long time friend of LeBron James. Obviously, LeBron is
one of the best players of this generation. However, Tristan Thompson while is a good player, is
nowhere near being one of the top players in the league. In his career, he has averaged 9.7 PPG
and 8.5 RPG. Thompson was involved in a long contract stalemate with the Cavs because he
wanted a max contract. After months of negotiations, Thompson received a 5 year $82 million
dollar deal from Cleveland. NBA executives around the league were surprised to see the deal that
Thompson got. Rich Paul benefitted greatly from this as his two clients were getting paid max
contract money from Cleveland. From the Cavs perspective, they overpaid for a middle of the
road player to keep their star player

Evaluation Of Linux Containers ( Lxc )
Linux Assignment 2015 Evaluation of Linux Containers What is a Linux Container? The Linux
Containers (LXC) feature is a lightweight virtualization mechanism that does not require you to set
up a virtual machine on an emulation of physical hardware. (Oracle, 2015) Linux based containers
are emerging cloud technologies based on fast and lightweight process virtualization. It offers users
an environment near identical performance to a standard Linux distribution, as opposed to para
virtualization solutions (Xen) and other hardware virtualization solutions such as KVM. It is not
necessary for a Linux container to create a new operating system kernel for each new instance.

King Nebuchadnezzar
Nebuchadnezzar isn t only famous from being known from what he achieved, but he was also
known from the bible. His attack on Judah was documented in the bible specifically at Jeremiah
25:9. In the bible, Nebuchadnezzar is portrayed as a violent, greedy ruler who only wanted to
improve his life, but this is false. He was very violent and aggressive, but he wanted the best for
his city and empire.(Jeremiah 25.9) Nebuchadnezzar would also dream about godspeaking to him.
He dreamt an image of a sculpture of himself. He would have a head of gold representing the
strongest civilizations at the time which was arguably the one he and his father built. Next on the

Daniel then stepped up to make an attempt at the interpritation. He successfully interprited it
which then had Nebuchadnezzar promote him to a main advisor. (Daniel 2:47) Later,
Nebuchadnezzar created a gold statue of himself. People of the empire were ordered to bow
down to this statue when the music played. People who failed to complete this task were killed
by Nebuchadnezzar. The most known case of this was of Daniel s friends Shadrach, Meschach,
and Abednego. They were thrown into a boiling furnace when they decided against bowing
down. Surprisingly, these three men came back out alive. Nebuchadnezzar is quoted for saying
this quote in the bible, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who has sent
his angel and delivered his servants, who trusted in him, and set aside the king s command, and
yielded up their bodies rather than serve and worship any god except their own God. Therefore I
make a decree: Any people, nation, or language that speaks anything against the God of Shadrach,
Meshach, and Abednego shall be torn limb from limb, and their houses laid in ruins, for there is
no other god who is able to rescue in this way (Daniel 3:28 29).241In Daniel Chapter Four,

Aninut Religion
As in Hindu customs, the location and direction of the body are specified in sacred and
important texts. It is preferable to bury the corpse away from high traffic places like the
synagogue to avoid health problems, as a corpse can defile an area as it is a powerful source of
impurity (Kraemer, 2000, p.77). Altough this is the case now, Kraemer notes in ancient times
people who had contributed to the synagogue such as high priests and rabbis were laid to rest in
the synagogue, if a person makes his life his home in the synagogue, he will have the merit of
locating his eternal home there as well . This change in preference of burialsite is evident in the
midrash as the earliest versions of the midrash stated that the body was to be buried... Show more

Jews mourn in three stages called aninut, shiv ah, and sheloshim. The aninut stage is from death to
burial, meat wine and sexual activity are to be abstained from. The Shiv ah period is the seven
days after the funeral, mirrors are to be covered to remind oneself to not concern themselves with
normal life and focus on what is important. The sheloshim period lasts for 30 days, or one year if
the deceased is a parent. Life returns back to normal with only celebrations where music is played
being restricted (Gywnne, 2009).
Hinduism s samsaric view of life and Judaism s contrasting belief in one life on Earth before
resurrection of the body with the coming of the Messiah, leads to many differences in their funeral
and mourning customs and practices. For example the dissimilarity in the way in which the corpse
is to be treated and the funeral ceremony itself due to opposing ideas of mortality. However despite
the vast difference between traditions, there are still parallels to be noted such as directions for the
location and direction of the ceremony and the restrictive nature of the mourning

Toilet Paper Core
Everything in the world is in constant change. And everything needs continual improvement if
the ever increasing demands of humankind are to be met. If I am a materials engineer, I will
innovate new material for toilet paper core. I think everyone has question why it must be toilet
paper core, and how important toilet paper core is. Toilet paper is the thing that most people use.
Most toilet paper has core. When we use whole toilet paper, it will remain the core. Because of
this core can t uses anymore so we throw it in the bin and it becomes to garbage. More used
cores, more garbage. The innovation that I will present is making the core that can use as toilet
paper. So when we use whole toilet paper, it will not remain any core to be garbage.

Compare And Contrast The Renaissance Art And European Art
Compare and Contrast Essay
Compare and Contrast works of art that represent the 15th Century Early Renaissance art and 16th
Century Northern European art. The artists Masaccio and Grunewald will be used to illustrate the
differences and similarities in the styles of art. Their works of art are chosen for their interpretation
of the style that was representative during these eras. Early Renaissance artists used mathematical
one point linear perspective to create illusions of depth and depicted the human body as realistic
and natural. Northern European artist used medieval mysticism and intense emotional spirituality
and they used illustrative human figures rather than realistic depictions. By understanding the
corresponding and distinctions between these two works of art we can understand why they created
their artwork in the respective style to their era.
The first work of art is a fresco titled Trinity with the Virgin Mary, John the Evangelist, and the
Donors (Holy Trinity) by artist Masaccio during the Early Renaissance c. 1425
1427/1428. The fresco is located on the wall of the Church of Santa Maria Novella in Florence,
Italy. Brunelleschi s experiments on linear perspective and architecture had an influence on
Masaccio s art.
The second work of art is an oil painting on wood panel titled Isenheim Altarpiece by artist
Grunewald in c. 1510 1515. It was located in the chapel of the St. Anthony abbey hospital near

Not everyone is blessed with musical talent but when someone has an extraordinary ability, he or

endowment, and that is what Billie Holiday did. Billie had a life that she may not have dreamed
of since it started out rough with her mistreatment from adults and discouraging misfortunes, but
she was ambitious and that showed through her singing career. Billie could usually adapt to her

Billy Holiday, formally known as Eleanora Fagan, was born on April 7, 1915, to thirteen year old

since her father picked his own career in music over his family. He was a jazz musician who
played the banjo and guitar (Bush). School was not a priority for Holiday since she had limited
schooling and her mother would often leave her with relatives to care for her (Bush). Billie s
family was poor, and she had a life of pain, struggling, and disturbance ahead of her. As a child
Holiday would help out at a brothel by running errands for prostitutes, because in the sitting room

Modern Day Commercial Firms Have A System Of Computer...
Background to the Study Many modern day commercial firms have a system of computer based
network to track the activities of their employees at the workplace. Employers can track the
emailing and browsing history alongside any other activity carried out by an employee using
computers even if they clear the history (Reynolds, 2011). Companies are on the run to come up
with strict policies to track the use of the computers among employees. Some firms argue that
computerbased monitoring is important although it is quite expensive to install and maintain (Hugl,
2013).
The fact that the internet is becoming one of the major business components, it has become critical
for firms to monitor how employees use it. Research indicates that a larger percentage of
employers monitor how their employees use the internet while at work. Over the last one decade,
the percentages of employers who have restricted their employees access to the company website
have increased significantly. They prefer computer based monitoring arguing that computers can
handle a large volume of data. Cangemi (2012) adds CM systems use automated advanced analytics
to sift through the large volumes of structured data, such as financial transactions, that comprise a
large part of their big data (p. 35). According to them, computer monitoring has become critical to
reduce cases of critical information from the company leaking to unwanted third parties (Lyon,
2008). The rise of the internet has brought a chain of

The Black Swan Movie
This extreme of wanting to be the greatest is no surprise, as it is often seen in athletes worlds.
There is pressure from the coach, the parents, and of course, from themselves. However, perfect
may have a different significance for each person, it is all comparative and subjective. It is
magnificent when one is motivated and strives for excellence in everything, but it is important
to find out where that drive is coming from. It may be motivated by reward and praise from
other people, or from an internal drive of satisfying oneself. Still, there is a world outside of
being perfect, and it is crucial to find out where the control is coming from and try to handle it.
It could be both, but if the control is weighted too much on one side, that s when issues can
develop, like eating disorders and other fixations. Individuals who scored higher on more negative
aspects of perfectionism were also more debilitated by their anxiety symptoms (Nordin Bates,
2011). This can clearly be seen in Nina s character in The Black Swan, where she has mental
breakdowns almost every night after a balletpractice. There is so much pressure, and it drives Nina
to a point where she cannot strop scratching herself. She starts getting delusions and viewers can

Why Does A Basketball Bounce Higher Than A Bowling Ball
Why does a basketball bounce higher than a bowling ball? Because it is made of different
materials. A basketball is inflated with air and made with a rubber covering that has a high
bounce factor. Bowling balls are made out of hard materials that don t bounce. Why is bounce
good for a basketball and not so good for a bowling ball? Using a baseball to play basketball or a
bowling ball to play tennis doesn t make sense. Different sports require the height from which the
ball is dropped the ball s level of ignition temperature the surface upon which the ball is bounced.
The higher the ball is above the ground, the more its potential energy. As the ball is dropped and
gravity forces it downward, the ball accelerates and gains speed. As the ball falls through the air, its
potential or stored energy is converted into kinetic energy. The longer the fall, the more kinetic
energy it gains and when it hits the ground, it bounces higher. As a ball bounces, it warms. An
inated ball, like a basketball, bounces higher and faster when the temperature is warmer. This is
because the distance between the air molecules in the ball increases, helping the ball maintain its
round shape when it hits the ground. On cooler days, the distance between the air molecules gets

Sci Fi And Fantasy Stories Philosophers And Physicists
Time is a complex topic. One that only seems to be tackled by the authors of Sci Fi and Fantasy
stories philosophers and physicists. Whether it s a book, movie, or show we seem to only be
able to talk and theorize about time in the abstract. Though this idea is less prevalent in the
Harry Potter series, it is still important and raises a lot of questions. Is time simply the ticking
hands on the clock or is it more complicated than that? We go through life talking about time as if
it s a simple idea: there is a cause. which creates an effect and this continues in a never ending
cycle. What if it s not that simple? If we are working under the belief that time travel is possible,
then it would have to be a little bit more complicated than that. Now granted I have not yet had
the honor of going backwards nor forwards in time. Nor do I know anyone that has moved from
their own timeline, but just because it hasn t been done doesn t mean it s not possible. Remember
people also didn t think we could put a man on the moon, but NASA proved them all wrong. Time
Travel may not have happened yet but that doesn t mean it s not going to happen in the future.
Deutsch and Lockwood explain that time travel is in fact scientifically possible. In the Quantum
Physics of Time Travel they use Einstein s theory of relativity as well as several other theories to
explain that time travel is actually a scientific possibility (Deutsch and Lockwood). Although until it
happens there is no way to know

Euthyphro Dialogue Essay examples
In the dialogue Euthyphro (Cahn and Markie), Plato presents an argument against the divine
command meta ethical theory. While the argument is presented against the predominantly
pantheistic Greek religions, the argument can be easily applied to the monotheistic Abrahamic
religions.
The dialogue starts off with the two main characters: Euthyphro and Socrates. Socrates has been
indicted for corrupting the youth of Athens and Euthyphro is indicting his father for murdering a
day labourer who killed one of his servants through neglect. Socrates acknowledges that Euthyphro
must be very knowledgeable on the subjects of piety and holiness which are integral to the Greek
judicial system and that by learning from Euthyphro, Socrates might better ... Show more content on

If this were the case, the gods would not be the ultimate source of what is holy, and thus not the
source of moral authority. Since this is entirely in opposition to the divine command theory of meta
ethics, this cannot be the case, which leaves Socrates and Euthyphro with the idea that objects are
holy because the gods love them.
It is at this point in the dialogue that Socrates turns the argument to justice. The claim is made that
everything that is holy is just and everything that is just is holy; a claim with which Euthyphro
again agrees. Socrates presents the following analogy: while we can be afraid of many things, and
that fear can be shameful and that to be ashamed is to also be fearful, he asserts that being afraid
doesn t necessarily mean that one should ashamed of that fear that fear is broader than shame.
Socrates then applies this analogy to holiness and justice that all things that are holy are just, but
not all things that are holy are necessarily just: justice is thus broader than holiness. This suggests
that there is a portion of justice that involves what is holy and another portion that is uninvolved
with holiness.
When asked to differentiate between these two mutually exclusive components, Euthyphro says that
the component of justice that is concerned with holiness is a matter of ministering to the gods and
the component that is not concerned with holiness is ministering to people. This

Modern Day Society And Creative Industries
Scriptwriters and Their Role in Modern Day Society
What would Hollywood and its producers do without scriptwriters? A person with a camera can
only do so much on their own; without a script there is no story to build a movie up from.
Essentially, an excellent script is the foundation for a brilliant movie. Furthermore, scriptwriting
has been an interest of mine since my seventh grade year in middle school, which was when I was
first exposed to drama. I was not a huge fan of getting up on a stage; however, I greatly enjoyed the
writing aspect of the class. I connected with the idea of telling somebody a story without having
to look them directly in the eyes, and I still feel this way today. Due to this feeling, I sense that I
would make a decent scriptwriter. Carrying on, this paper further examines the substantial role of
the scriptwriter in modern day society and creative industries. According to the National Careers
Service, a career search website based in the United Kingdom, scriptwriters are writers who create
screenplays (2015). Constructing characters, shaping dialogue, and writing an engaging plot are all
part of a scriptwriter s profession (AllAboutCareers Ltd, 2015). As a screenwriter, one might expect
to develop their own original ideas through writing and words to sell to producers. Some
producers may even commission a scriptwriter to create a screenplay based on an idea or true
story. Additionally, scriptwriters are often asked to adapt an existing

Irony Of Empathy In Raymond Carver s Cathedral

English 102

Looking beyond Empathy is the ability to understand and vicariously share the feelings and
thoughts of other people. Empathic feelings are fundamental for humans in social and interpersonal
life because they enable human beings to tune their mental states to their social environment as well
as to understand others intentions, actions, and behaviors. In particular, empathy for pain is a source
of deep emotional feelings and a strong trigger of prosocial behavior. In the fictional short Cathedral

heads out of the water and look around, and they can also dive to as much as a hundred feet.
These social animals live in pods and stay with them for their whole lives. They are so family

an enormous amount of stress on them as they are being ripped away from their families. The
best way to capture the whales is by using the drive method. This method is used by separating
the whales as best as they can from their families, luring them into shallow water, and then
containing them in nets. Once they are captured the whales are at high risk from dehydration as
they are out of water for large periods of time. The largest capture of orcas took place on August
8th, 1970, by Griffin and Goldsberry. During these captures whalers had to deal with many deaths,
usually with the calves. The calves were so scared about the nets that they drowned themselves

##enton And Brenton In A Lesson Before Dying And Murder On...
Could crimes be unfairly decided depending on evidence and how it is presented to the court? In
fact, this happens regularly. This results in many people being falsely convicted of a crime which
they never committed. However, the evidence and how it is presented to a jury can change the
final decision. There are several significant similarities and differences between A Lesson Before
Dying and Murder on a Sunday Morning. These include the way the men were treated while on trial
, what type of crimethey were accused of, as well as the final decision of the court. The treatment
of both Jefferson in A Lesson Before Dying and Brenton in Murder on a Sunday Morning are
very similar. This is primarily due to the fact that they are both young, black men. First of all,
they already had been accused of the crime due to their race and the negative perspective people
tend to have towards African Americans. Not only that, but they were both referred to as niggers
by those working on the court cases which could also be considered derogatory. Also, they both
had their arms and legs in chains for a large portion of the time in jail when awaiting the trial since
they were both deemed dangerous due to the type of crime they committed. Lastly, Jefferson and
Brenton were thoroughly interrogated and questioned about their relation to the crime and what
information they could provide about it. Given this information, it is clear that A Lesson Before

The Eye Of The Needle
The Eye of the Needle
The Eye of the Needle was always an iconic place along the Missouri until May 1997 when it
collapsed under suspicious circumstances. On the expedition of Lewis and Clark, the White
Cliffs of Montana was a signature site described by Lewis. One of the extraordinary landmarks
was the Eye of the Needle, which Meriwether Lewis first described its scenery by comparing its
magnificent rock formations to elegant ranges of lofting freestone buildings, having their parapets
well stocked with statuary (Burns, 1997). This was 1800 s talk, which doesn t make sense to most
people nowadays. Looking at an old picture of the Eye of the Needle that my grandfather took
while rafting the Missouri, I can see the beauty that people raved about.
The rock structure is so perplexing. The arch made up of multiple boulders doesn t look like
anything that nature could ever make naturally. It defies gravity standing on the very top of the
rock wall lining the rushing Missouri. The light grey structure has thousands of crevices that
formed themselves from natural wear and tear over time. 200 feet up, it towers over the Missouri
River keeping a watchful eye on all of the wildlife.
When blogger Chris describes this beautiful place he said,
The Eye of the Needle could be seen a few miles upstream while floating the Missouri River, and
from a distance it appeared to be just that a tiny window allowing some of the sky to shine through.
The structure was only about 11 feet high,

Ordinary Men Summary
Book Review: Ordinary Men by Christopher Browning Ordinary Men by Christopher Browning
is subtitled Reserve Police Battalion 101 and the Final Solution in Poland. This title is a perfect
overview of the subject of the book. Browning discussed Reserve Police Battalion 101 and the part
it played in the World War II during the Holocaust, especially in the Final Solution , which was the
attempted eradication of Jews. Not only does Browning discuss Battalion 101, but he uses them as
an example of how ordinary people can commit atrocities such as mass murder. Christopher
Browning is a professor of history at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington. He is
considered an expert on the Holocaust and has written several acclaimed books covering this
subject (Christopher R. Browning). To write this his book Ordinary Men, he relies on a collection
of indictments and judgements that took place from 1962 to 1972 (Browning xvii). These cases
that Browning studied are full of testimonies from Battalion 101 members. He writes Ordinary Men

Analysis Of Akira Kurosawa s Seven Samurai And Yojieo...
Death leads to many emotions. It can lead to anger, sorrow, joy, realization, or more violence.
The theme of death is a common occurrence in Akira Kurosawa s 1954 film, Seven Samurai, and
Yojieo Takita s 2009 film, Departures. Each death in these films served a purpose. However, each
of these films have deathconstructed in their own different ways. Departures showcased a respectful
way for dealing with the deceased. Seven Samuraishowed a little bit of every emotion for the
deceased, but it seemed as though the 4 samurai, the main heroes, who died were not really
emphasized compared to those who the samurai had killed.
First, let s start off with the first death in Seven Samurai. This death scene was probably the most
memorable one. It starts around 24 minutes into the film, where Kambei, the soon to be leader of
the seven samurai, is disguised as a monk and kills a thief hiding in a shack with a hostage. While
the action of killing is not shown, the thief staggers out into open view before he dies. He then
collapses in dramatic fashion while the spectating villages are in awe with what just happened.
Throughout this scene, Kurosawa plays with slow motion, emphasising the spectacular nature of
this first but rather unimportant death.
After around 25 minutes later, a similar slow motion effect is used on another death. It is when
Kyuzo cuts down a samurai who has challenged him into a duel. Once again, there is a mob of
spectators in the background all in awe and holding

Essay On The Third Amendment
In 1789, the Congress created the Bill of Rights to make sure the people are protected and the
government has limitations. The Third Amendment states, No soldier shall, in time of peace be
quartered in any house, without the consent of the owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be
prescribed by law. ( Bill of Rights ). Throughout the years the amendments have been manipulated,
in a way, to be used in a certain way. In researching the Third Amendment, one will find the past and
present of the Quartering of Soldiers through the origins of the law, modern application of the
amendment, and its current effectiveness. In the origins, the Third Amendment was formulated

Today it protects the people s privacy of their house. When it was created it standed for that now
soldier shall be housed literally. The federal government today is not likely to ask people to house
soldiers in their homes, even in time of war. (Wood). Also, Amendment 3 purpose today is to
protect the people from intruding their house. Amendment 3 supports Amendment 4, search and
seizure law, both laws ties into the rights of privacy. Ending, one can indicate that the Third
Amendment s application has differed from the 21st century and the era it was created in.
Court cases are examples of how the application of the law changed. Through the Griswold case the
Third Amendment protects the invasion of privacy by the government. The court held that
statement and they also asked if they would let the government search the bedrooms in that case.
The Court explained that the right to privacy was inherent in the First, Third, Fourth, Fifth, and
Ninth Amendments. The Bill of Rights created zones of privacy into which the government could
not intrude. ( Griswold V. Connecticut). In the Griswold case, the Third Amendment and some
other amendments protected the rights of privacy which helped Ms. Griswold. Closing up, the
Griswold case is an example how the law applies in the world now.
In the present, the Third Amendment is rarely used by the Supreme Court and is least used in the
Bill of Rights showing the application has

one strategy that often doesn?t come to mind. However, personal development is actually the most
important thing entrepreneurs and business leaders can do for their business development skills and

Whether big or small, regardless of their type of field, industry, or desired market, businesses
everywhere are now beginning to realize that by empowering their staff, and instilling drive,
passion, motivation, and other essential personal values into them, oftentimes by being a shining
example of those values yourself as their business leader, you can guide your staff towards bringing
about better results for your business, making more progress for your business, and altogether
developing your business into a more successful model.
Now more than ever, personal development is key to helping business development in today?s
highly competitive and digitalized corporate landscape. Previously, around fifty or so years ago,
the corporate landscape was much less competitive?and much less empowering. When an
entrepreneur or a business leader wanted to see an increase in results for their company, they
simply hired more workers to a single shift to add more units and up productivity, which would
then hopefully get the number of results the entrepreneur or business leader was looking for.
When a worker was slowing down the whole team?s productivity or progress, or not doing
enough to meet the company?s goals set by the entrepreneur and business leader, then all the
entrepreneur or business leader would do typically would be to bring them into their office and
tell them to do a better job and work harder or find another way of paying the bills

The Differences Of Baseball, Baseball Vs. Baseball
To someone who might not know the game of baseball or softball they might think they were
otherwise the same game only one is played with a slighter bigger ball. That is not the case here.
Although they are both played on similar fields, they both utilize a ball, bat, and a glove there are
many small differences within each of those. The gender played by both sports is typically
different, the type of ball used, pitching, the size of the fields, bats and rules. When it comes to
baseballit is typically played by men, although women can and do play baseball, softball is the

played with a ball. In all levels of baseball whether it be youth or professional adult leagues the
weight and circumference of a baseball is the same. It weighs between five and five and one

Modernism In The Hollow Men By Thomas Stearns Eliot
The epoch making Modernist Movement reached its zenith during 1910 1930. Gradually, its
radiance and eminence declined due to the political and economic crisis of the 1930s.
Chronologically, Postmodernism laid its imprints upon various fields of study and thereby

Hunting Should Not Be Banned
In a civilized and cultivated country, wild animals only continue to exist at all when preserved by
sportsmen ( MARC FOLCO: Some hunting, fishing quotes to live by ). Hunters are the leading
source for all conservation programs. Theodore Roosevelt was one of the most passionate hunters.
People put down huntinglike it s a bad thing. Many hunters contribute billions of dollars the the
economy. Hunting should not be banned because of the positive impacts it has on society. Through
strictly regulated hunting we have reintroduced and repopulated various game species into areas
where they were previously wiped out due to extremely excessive hunting by settlers. In the early
1900s all of Indiana s whitetail deerwere virtually extinct. By the 1930s whitetail deer were
beginning to be reintroduced into Indiana. In just 20 years after initial reintroduction the population
was at a sustainable level so that regulated modern hunting programs could begin. Conservationism
has been a necessity to the ecology of the United States and many other countries around the
world. The U.S. Forest Service by itself manages 193 million acres of public land nationwide or
roughly 8% of the total land in the United States. The management of this land would not be
feasible without the funding hunters provide through licenses, tags, and stamps. The 193 million

Race in Amerca
Race, simple external differences linked to other complex internal differences, has historically
created issues in American society. Race and racial inequalities are one of the most vital issues
confronting contemporary U.S. society, explains Sociologist Ronald Takaki. In the past race has
had both biological and social implications across the country.
However, the video Race: The Power of Illusion presents significant evidence refuting the biological
theories of race. Cold Springs Harbor Laboratory instructor Scott Bronson and several high school
students from different ethnicities conducted personal genetic research exploring biological race
theory. Students typed their blood, compared skin tones and took DNA samples. After sending the
samples to a genetics lab, Bronson asked students whom they might expect to be more genetically
similar to in the workshop. The consensus of the students was that they would each be genetically
comparable to others in the group with similar physical attributes.
Noah, a white male expected to be similar to another white male in the group and Mr. Bronson. Two
other students, a male and female of African descent, believed they would similar despite their
gender differences. When the lab work came back, Mr. Bronson and the students evaluated the
results and the students were quite surprised. They discovered those students of African descent
had more genetic differences than the rest of the group combined. Supporting the student s findings

next 10 years. Charleston, Myrtle Beach and Hilton head have added over 150,000 new residents
in since 2010 collectively, with over half being in Charleston. South Carolinarepresents one of our
primary markets and an established base of operations for our company.
In the Atlanta market, growth is expected to be even more advantageous with over 400,000
healthcare service jobs added by 2040 . The Metro Atlanta area is projected to grow by 3% and
add over 2.5 million residents in this same time span. With the presence of Medical and Research
Universities, several of the nation s leading private practitioners, and a vast EMS/Police and Fire
network, the influx of professionals promises a constant stream of working adults in need of initial

With the growing regional population, Federal, State and Local governments will be hard pressed
to expand infrastructure and services. For our operations in Georgia and South Carolina, this

Negative Effects Of Evictions
Eviction s Effects
Those who have experienced evictions are forced into multiple logistical housing situations. Due to
the stigma associated with a court ordered eviction, landlords would often engage in rent screenings
to ensure that potential renters not only have a clean criminal record but also an eviction free record
(Desmond, 2016). As Desmond discusses (2016), the landlord s double barrier screening is
shielding their neighborhood from criminality and poverty. Correspondingly, some landlords
knowingly do not engage in these screening practices as a business model to potentially profit off
of the poor (Desmond, 2012a). As the person who is evicted fall into the bottom of the rental
market, the housing fate of the evicted ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Children who are exposed to these housing insecure households are susceptible to low birth
weights, asthma, depression, behavioral issues, and educational delays (BARHII, 2016). In
addition, physical health can include being exposed to sexual harassment. Tester (2008) reports that
some landlords aware of a tenant s economic status and need for housing used their positional
authority to sexually coerce tenants. Unfortunately, due to housing availability, Tester s (2008)
work described female renters precarious situation as women failed to report the sexual harassment
due to fear of retaliation and housing needs.
Households that undergo eviction are at a 20% higher level of material hardship (Desmond, 2016,
293). Those who have undergone an eviction have a 15% chance of being terminated by their
employer (Desmond, 2016, p. 293). This potential financial burden can be magnified on account
that many lose their possessions as a result of the eviction and risk having to re obtain clothing,
appliances, and other items. As Desmond (2016) explains, evicted families working on securing
habitable housing would be forced into paying for storage that ran around $100 dollars per month
(p.132). Sometimes people would fall behind in paying for their items and would result in the
evicted individual not just losing their home, transportation costs, sometimes their job, the storage
rental, but now their

Rational Choice Theory Of Crime
Generally speaking, there is a strong need for theory when shaping criminal justice policies and
practices. As mentioned in this week s materials theories can assist with developing explanations
and/or ideas about criminal activity, such as, the factors that caused the offender to commit the
crime, how to prevent the offender and others from committing more crime, or the most effective
punishments. Without the presence of theories all policies and practices put into place would lack
verification of effectiveness and need (Blokar, 2015). In our readings, various theories on the
effectiveness of punishment were either verified or unsupported at some point in time over the past
three centuries. From my understanding of the reading Beccaria s belief that certainty is the most
important piece of punishment, even when compared to severity , (Cullen, Agnew, Wilcox, 2014)
counts as one of those verified factors when addressing punishment in our criminal justice system....

While Cornish and Clarkes version of the rational choice theory brought to surface the effect
situational factors had on rational choice that earlier rational choice theorist did not think address.
This theory pointed out how these situational factors (emotional state, individual traits, easiness of
crime or attitudes towards crime) influenced an individuals rational choice to participate or not
participate in criminal behavior (Cullen, Agnew, Wilcox, 2014). The presence of certain situational
factors could change the severity or type of punishment given to an offender. These two examples
of theories sheds light on the importance of theory in our criminal justice system, particularly the
area of

  • 2. Primary And Secondary Psychopathy And Cognitive Empathy Psyc 121: Introduction to Psychology 1 Is Primary and Secondary Psychopathy Strongly Related to Cognitive Empathy? Name: Savannah Davies ID: 300334814 Tutor: Ruth Glynn Lab Time: Friday 9 10:50am, EA 404B Abstract This study investigated the possible relationships between primary and secondary psychopathy and cognitive empathy. Is Primary and Secondary Psychopathy Strongly Related to Cognitive Empathy? Described as a social disorder, psychopathy is a field that has been extensively researched and we have discovered that it consists of two distinctive subtypes; primary and secondary. There are some similarities between these two subtypes however a distinction can be made through a subject s characteristics and traits. Both primary psychopathy (PP) and secondary psychopathy (SP) are associated with impulsivity, aggression, social isolation due to a lack of convergence with the social norm , superficial charm and poor behavioural control but primary psychopaths are more often characterised as callous, manipulative, extremely selfish with a diminished capacity for remorse and routinely untruthful, where secondary psychopaths are more introverted, socially anxious with low self esteem (Blackburn Fawcett, 1999). Empathy is essentially the capacity or ability to understand and share another person s mental experience. Cognitive empathy, is often referred to as Theory of Mind (ToM) and is conceptualised as the ability to understand and infer the emotions and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. My Papa Knultz Analysis Battered Knuckles While the subject of My Papa s Waltz by Theodore Roethke has spurred passionate academic debate from professors, scholars, and students alike, the imagery, syntax, and diction of the poem clearly supports the interpretation that Roethke writes My Papa s Waltz to reflect back to his sentimental memories with his father. In brief, Roethke leaves the audience with an unclear understanding of what the meaning of the poem is. In discussions of My Papa s Waltz, one controversial issue is the father casually plays with the son. On the other hand, some readers argue that the father is abusing his son straightforwardly. However, after contemplating the context of the poem and gathering information from the text, it has become undeniably clear that the poem is about the father abusing his son. Ultimately, Roethke writes My Papa s Waltz to illustrate a picture of his nostalgic remembrance for the readers. The authors controversial poem becomes clear when one carefully examines the context of the poem. In stanza one, line one, Roethke describes the papa in the poem as having whiskey on [his] breath. This line illuminates the idea of the father being intoxicated; hence, can lead to a change in behavior. Further, the change in behavior can be the cause of violence towards the child in the poem. Coincidentally, Roethke s father dies in 1923 at the age of 52; thirty eight years later Roethke writes My Papa s Waltz, roughly at 52 years of age. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Compare And Contrast The Renaissance Art And European Art Compare and Contrast Essay Compare and Contrast works of art that represent the 15th Century Early Renaissance art and 16th Century Northern European art. The artists Masaccio and Grunewald will be used to illustrate the differences and similarities in the styles of art. Their works of art are chosen for their interpretation of the style that was representative during these eras. Early Renaissance artists used mathematical one point linear perspective to create illusions of depth and depicted the human body as realistic and natural. • 16. Modern Day Commercial Firms Have A System Of Computer... Background to the Study Many modern day commercial firms have a system of computer based network to track the activities of their employees at the workplace. Employers can track the emailing and browsing history alongside any other activity carried out by an employee using computers even if they clear the history (Reynolds, 2011). Companies are on the run to come up with strict policies to track the use of the computers among employees. Some firms argue that computerbased monitoring is important although it is quite expensive to install and maintain (Hugl, 2013). The fact that the internet is becoming one of the major business components, it has become critical for firms to monitor how employees use it. Research indicates that a larger percentage of employers monitor how their employees use the internet while at work. Over the last one decade, the percentages of employers who have restricted their employees access to the company website have increased significantly. They prefer computer based monitoring arguing that computers can handle a large volume of data. There is pressure from the coach, the parents, and of course, from themselves. However, perfect may have a different significance for each person, it is all comparative and subjective. It is magnificent when one is motivated and strives for excellence in everything, but it is important to find out where that drive is coming from. It may be motivated by reward and praise from other people, or from an internal drive of satisfying oneself. Still, there is a world outside of being perfect, and it is crucial to find out where the control is coming from and try to handle it. It could be both, but if the control is weighted too much on one side, that s when issues can develop, like eating disorders and other fixations. Individuals who scored higher on more negative aspects of perfectionism were also more debilitated by their anxiety symptoms (Nordin Bates, 2011). This can clearly be seen in Nina s character in The Black Swan, where she has mental breakdowns almost every night after a balletpractice. • 21. Why Does A Basketball Bounce Higher Than A Bowling Ball Why does a basketball bounce higher than a bowling ball? Because it is made of different materials. A basketball is inflated with air and made with a rubber covering that has a high bounce factor. Bowling balls are made out of hard materials that don t bounce. Why is bounce good for a basketball and not so good for a bowling ball? Using a baseball to play basketball or a bowling ball to play tennis doesn t make sense. Different sports require the height from which the ball is dropped the ball s level of ignition temperature the surface upon which the ball is bounced. The higher the ball is above the ground, the more its potential energy. As the ball is dropped and gravity forces it downward, the ball accelerates and gains speed. As the ball falls through the air, its potential or stored energy is converted into kinetic energy. The longer the fall, the more kinetic energy it gains and when it hits the ground, it bounces higher. As a ball bounces, it warms. An inated ball, like a basketball, bounces higher and faster when the temperature is warmer. This is because the distance between the air molecules in the ball increases, helping the ball maintain its round shape when it hits the ground. On cooler days, the distance between the air molecules gets smaller, causing the ball to be less inated. So, it attains more when it hits the ground. A lot of scientific research goes into developing the right bounce for the right ball. Several other factors affect the way a ball bounces. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Though this idea is less prevalent in the Harry Potter series, it is still important and raises a lot of questions. Is time simply the ticking hands on the clock or is it more complicated than that? We go through life talking about time as if it s a simple idea: there is a cause. which creates an effect and this continues in a never ending cycle. What if it s not that simple? Socrates acknowledges that Euthyphro must be very knowledgeable on the subjects of piety and holiness which are integral to the Greek judicial system and that by learning from Euthyphro, Socrates might better ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If this were the case, the gods would not be the ultimate source of what is holy, and thus not the source of moral authority. Since this is entirely in opposition to the divine command theory of meta ethics, this cannot be the case, which leaves Socrates and Euthyphro with the idea that objects are holy because the gods love them. It is at this point in the dialogue that Socrates turns the argument to justice. The claim is made that everything that is holy is just and everything that is just is holy; a claim with which Euthyphro again agrees. Socrates presents the following analogy: while we can be afraid of many things, and that fear can be shameful and that to be ashamed is to also be fearful, he asserts that being afraid doesn t necessarily mean that one should ashamed of that fear that fear is broader than shame. Socrates then applies this analogy to holiness and justice that all things that are holy are just, but not all things that are holy are necessarily just: justice is thus broader than holiness. This suggests that there is a portion of justice that involves what is holy and another portion that is uninvolved with holiness. When asked to differentiate between these two mutually exclusive components, Euthyphro says that the component of justice that is concerned with holiness is a matter of ministering to the gods and the component that is not concerned with holiness is ministering to people. • 24. Modern Day Society And Creative Industries Scriptwriters and Their Role in Modern Day Society What would Hollywood and its producers do without scriptwriters? A person with a camera can only do so much on their own; without a script there is no story to build a movie up from. Essentially, an excellent script is the foundation for a brilliant movie. Furthermore, scriptwriting has been an interest of mine since my seventh grade year in middle school, which was when I was first exposed to drama. I was not a huge fan of getting up on a stage; however, I greatly enjoyed the writing aspect of the class. I connected with the idea of telling somebody a story without having to look them directly in the eyes, and I still feel this way today. Due to this feeling, I sense that I would make a decent scriptwriter. Carrying on, this paper further examines the substantial role of the scriptwriter in modern day society and creative industries. According to the National Careers Service, a career search website based in the United Kingdom, scriptwriters are writers who create screenplays (2015). Constructing characters, shaping dialogue, and writing an engaging plot are all part of a scriptwriter s profession (AllAboutCareers Ltd, 2015). As a screenwriter, one might expect to develop their own original ideas through writing and words to sell to producers. Some producers may even commission a scriptwriter to create a screenplay based on an idea or true story. Additionally, scriptwriters are often asked to adapt an existing ... Irony Of Empathy In Raymond Carver s Cathedral Kiano Tran Professor Gray English 102 27 September, 2016 Looking beyond Empathy is the ability to understand and vicariously share the feelings and thoughts of other people. In particular, empathy for pain is a source of deep emotional feelings and a strong trigger of prosocial behavior. This results in many people being falsely convicted of a crime which they never committed. However, the evidence and how it is presented to a jury can change the final decision. There are several significant similarities and differences between A Lesson Before Dying and Murder on a Sunday Morning. These include the way the men were treated while on trial , what type of crimethey were accused of, as well as the final decision of the court. The treatment of both Jefferson in A Lesson Before Dying and Brenton in Murder on a Sunday Morning are very similar. This is primarily due to the fact that they are both young, black men. First of all, they already had been accused of the crime due to their race and the negative perspective people tend to have towards African Americans. Not only that, but they were both referred to as niggers by those working on the court cases which could also be considered derogatory. Also, they both had their arms and legs in chains for a large portion of the time in jail when awaiting the trial since they were both deemed dangerous due to the type of crime they committed. Lastly, Jefferson and Brenton were thoroughly interrogated and questioned about their relation to the crime and what information they could provide about it. On the expedition of Lewis and Clark, the White Cliffs of Montana was a signature site described by Lewis. One of the extraordinary landmarks was the Eye of the Needle, which Meriwether Lewis first described its scenery by comparing its magnificent rock formations to elegant ranges of lofting freestone buildings, having their parapets well stocked with statuary (Burns, 1997). This was 1800 s talk, which doesn t make sense to most people nowadays. Looking at an old picture of the Eye of the Needle that my grandfather took while rafting the Missouri, I can see the beauty that people raved about. The rock structure is so perplexing. The arch made up of multiple boulders doesn t look like anything that nature could ever make naturally. It defies gravity standing on the very top of the rock wall lining the rushing Missouri. The light grey structure has thousands of crevices that formed themselves from natural wear and tear over time. 200 feet up, it towers over the Missouri River keeping a watchful eye on all of the wildlife. When blogger Chris describes this beautiful place he said, The Eye of the Needle could be seen a few miles upstream while floating the Missouri River, and from a distance it appeared to be just that a tiny window allowing some of the sky to shine through. • 31. Analysis Of Akira Kurosawa s Seven Samurai And Yojieo... Death leads to many emotions. It can lead to anger, sorrow, joy, realization, or more violence. The theme of death is a common occurrence in Akira Kurosawa s 1954 film, Seven Samurai, and Yojieo Takita s 2009 film, Departures. Each death in these films served a purpose. However, each of these films have deathconstructed in their own different ways. Departures showcased a respectful way for dealing with the deceased. Seven Samuraishowed a little bit of every emotion for the deceased, but it seemed as though the 4 samurai, the main heroes, who died were not really emphasized compared to those who the samurai had killed. First, let s start off with the first death in Seven Samurai. This death scene was probably the most memorable one. It starts around 24 minutes into the film, where Kambei, the soon to be leader of the seven samurai, is disguised as a monk and kills a thief hiding in a shack with a hostage. While the action of killing is not shown, the thief staggers out into open view before he dies. He then collapses in dramatic fashion while the spectating villages are in awe with what just happened. Throughout this scene, Kurosawa plays with slow motion, emphasising the spectacular nature of this first but rather unimportant death. After around 25 minutes later, a similar slow motion effect is used on another death. It is when Kyuzo cuts down a samurai who has challenged him into a duel. In the past race has had both biological and social implications across the country. However, the video Race: The Power of Illusion presents significant evidence refuting the biological theories of race. Cold Springs Harbor Laboratory instructor Scott Bronson and several high school students from different ethnicities conducted personal genetic research exploring biological race theory. As mentioned in this week s materials theories can assist with developing explanations and/or ideas about criminal activity, such as, the factors that caused the offender to commit the crime, how to prevent the offender and others from committing more crime, or the most effective punishments. Without the presence of theories all policies and practices put into place would lack verification of effectiveness and need (Blokar, 2015). In our readings, various theories on the effectiveness of punishment were either verified or unsupported at some point in time over the past three centuries.
