How Does The Governmental Transfer Of Power Impacts...
How does the governmental transfer of power impacts wildlife and the workforces that conserve and
protect wildlife? The United States government is constantly rotating officials in control of regulating
previous and developing laws, forming future concepts and regulations on various assemblies, and
striving to improve the lives of the American citizens. However, the ever changing governmental
powers may cause a positive or negative impact on wildlife conservation and policy, due to varying
opinions of the governmental officials formerly in command, contrasted with the present government
officials in power. This may develop contrasting concepts on former, future, and present laws within

The United States Fish and Wildlife Service is charged with the management of fish, wildlife, and
natural habitats. This agency is comprised of many affairs, such as the enforcement of federal wildlife
laws, endangered species conservation, and managing the nation s five hundred sixty national wildlife
refuges (Allgov, 2017). The National Parks Service oversees managing the natural resources of the
United States fifty nine national parks (Allgov, 2017). The regulations and policies that govern these
different agencies have changed drastically as different presidents have come in and out of office.
Theodore Roosevelt, for example, created the Unites States Forest Service as a part of the Forest
Reserve Act of 1891 (DOI, 2017). During his presidency, he reserved millions of acres, through
executive orders, and turned it into national forests, including what is known as the Midnight Forests
(FWS, 2017). The midnight forests are forests created by Theodore Roosevelt. President Roosevelt
created the midnight forests as one last executive order before he signed an amendment to the nation s
land laws, which removed the power of the president to set aside land for national parks and forest
with executive order (NPS, 2017). This amendment arose due to the special interest groups, loggers,
and cattlemen who lost land from President Roosevelt s executive orders (FWS, 2017). Also,
additional policies commenced to be established towards conservation and protection for

Outcome Devaluation Model
Experimental paradigm Outcome devaluation experimental paradigm is now widely used and a core
model to understand the instrumental behaviour in animal and humans. So, behavioural scientists
using outcome devaluation model to differentiate the manipulations of the environmental learning
effects on animals or human action behaviour and exploration whether it is habitual behaviour or goal
directed behaviour. As they use training schedule, choice, and Pavlovian influences to produce
insensitivity or sensitivity to outcome devaluation, and they can explore which areas in the brain are
important in the process and involvement in habitual behaviour or goal behaviour. The devaluation
outcome model is a good model in determining the cognitive architecture by testing the effect of an

Dual Coding Theory And Its Effect On The Way Of A Person...
A person can distinguished between scenes they have already scene from one that they have not.
However, people can distinguished a scene but is not able to tell a descriptive information whether it
has been changed or not in a specific scene. Descriptive information can lead to schema consistent or
inconsistent information to be processed into the memory. Dual Coding theory states that a person has
verbal associations and visual imagery and that given a person both of these encoding enhance
memory and have a higher recall rate. Different methods have been used to enhance memory such
imagery and mnemonic devices. Memory plays an essential part of everyday life; several factors can
effect or influence the way a person remembers a memory.
Schema is knowledge about a particular event produced by a previous experience with the event. How
schema affects memory has strong interest with researchers, previous researchers have used schema
consistent and schema inconsistent targets then asked participants to complete a recognition test. Most
experiments found that inconsistent items were recalled and recognized more than consistent items.
Except, an experiment done by Brewer and Treyens that reported that more consistent item were
recalled than inconsistent. The purpose of the current study is to test the reliability of the results by

Political Elements In A Christmas Carol And Rip Van Carolol
It s All Political (Ch. 13)
1. Why does nearly all writing contain political elements?
Nearly all writing contains political elements, because an author usually includes the world around
them when writing. Authors will embrace society in their writing by showing the political injustices,
such as civil rights, power structures, different classes in the society, and many more. When authors
bring in what s going on around them into their writing, they are most likely bringing in political
elements as well.
2. What is the political background that can be seen examples such as A Christmas Carol and Rip Van
Winkle ?
The political background in A Christmas Carol is focused on the belief by a British social thinker,
Thomas Malthus, who believes that giving the poor food and basic essential for life will only lead to
the creation of more poor people in the society. Scrooge along with the rest of the population at the
time thought this way, and that s why after the Christmas spirits took Scrooge on a journey through his
past, present, and future, he became a more giving person that wanted to help the poor instead of
looking the other way. Rip Van Winkle had a political statement considering the monarchy and how
like America, a democracy is what is best for the people, because instead of one, ultimate ruler, the
people were allowed to govern themselves.
3. Are individualism and self determination against the needs of society for conformity and stability?
Individualism and self determination are against the needs of society for conformity and stability,
because a society needs people that help out for it to function as a constant, strong society. People
acting on their own will only bring down a society, because a society runs on its people contributing to
it.
Yes, She s a Christ Figure Too (Ch. 14)
1. Why are there Christ figures?
Christ figures in literature can be used for a number of reasons, such as the author wanting to make a
specific point, about the characters sacrifice, their redemption, their hope, and their miracles. The
author may also want to use the Christ figure ironically to make the character and their sacrifice look
smaller, while making the great sacrifice by Jesus Christ much bigger.

Spotless Mind Themes
There are moments in a person s life when she wishes she there was a way to remove unpleasant
memories forever, to forget either that person responsible of a heartbreak, or a loved one who died
recently, or a traumatic event; however, what would happen if there was a process capable of deleting
someone s painful memories? Would a person be the same after the procedure? And most important, is
a person condemned to repeat their past if they don t remember it?
Charlie Kaufman s 2004 script, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, tries to give some insight into
these questions by using philosophical themes such as memory and its connection to personal identity,
determinism, and existentialism. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind tells the story ... Show more

Case Study On Strategic Management
Introduction
Strategy is a set of large scale and future oriented plans that a firm takes to gain and sustain their
competitive advantage, such as financial and human capital. In this course, I learn to use different
analysis to formulate and implement plans designed to achieve an objective. In the first lecture, I
realized that strategic management may not only be applied in corporation, strategic management
toolkit can also be used in our career to pursue our goals, so I think strategic management is an
interesting science.
In this course, I learn to think like a general manager to view a firm and a whole industry in its
entirety. Furthermore, through the case study during the tutorials, I know how to apply appropriate
analysis in generating and evaluating strategy options for different kinds of corporation.
The Course issues
The key factors of success in an industry may be used to identify a corporation s internal strengths and
weaknesses, so I think internal analysis is one of the major issues in this course. In internal analysis,
there are four major method. They are traditional SWOT analysis, value chain analysis, resource based
view and product life cycle. And all of these method use the core competencies in a firm to analysis
whether a firm creating higher value than the others. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The internal factors represent whether a company has more or less advantage and capabilities relative
to competitors. The external factors means if the firm s environment is favorable or unfavorable to it.
After identifying the situation of a firm, we could apply an appropriate strategy in the firm. For
example, Tung Wah College has less capabilities such as classroom and course offering but it has
favorable environmental opportunities, the board of directors could adopt the turnaround

Main Characters In Wonder Woman
Wonder Woman (raised as Diana, princess of the Amazons) was trained for most of her life on
Themyscira to be an unconquerable warrior. But when she saves a drowning pilot who tells her of the
wars going on outside of her sheltered paradise she is convinced she can stop the conflict. Fighting
alongside four men and a secretary she finally discovers who, or rather what she is.
The main character of the film (played by Gal Gadot), Wonder Woman is based on a DC comics
character who goes by the same name. The film is directed by Patty Jenkins while the screenplay is by
Allan Heinberg.

Although I m not a fan of the insane villain trope for me this takes a slightly interesting twist on said
trope because she is doing a job, not a kind, nice or good job but a job nonetheless.
The thing that worries me about Doctor Poison is that DC (if the character is present in the future) will
go down the overplayed and unhelpful route of her being bitter about her facial injury. After binge
watching many super hero movies it shocks me how the overwhelming majority rely on a villain being
disabled and because of that wanting revenge. It frustrates me the messages these villains send to kids.
I hope that DC in the future continues to explore her as a character but in a way that aids the need for
strong female leads. The questions that need to be asked are What if she lived in a time and place
where women could pursue science and achieve and excel without the blessing, permission, or aid of
men? [And] what if it were possible for her work to garner respect without needing to be connected to
some greater, generally masculine goal? {6}. With the possibility of a sequel DC has a chance to break
the traditional super villain mould and have a well developed character who doesn t need to ask for
forgiveness .

Nov. 1st, 2016 The originate of uncertainty How does thin sliced judgment compose the society of
United States help us think critically?
The thin sliced judgment, explained most commonly, is the impression we have when we meet
someone or experience something impressive. In the article, On the Face of It: The Psychology of
Electability, Konnikova said Those facial cues, in turn may stem from a far more basic impulse, since

mind but makes us more creative. This kind of statement could be illustrated by several arguments. In

Hidden Figures Play Essay
Cast: Taraji Henson, Octavia Spencer, Janelle Monáe, Kevin Costner, Jim Parsons, Mahershala Ali,
Kirsten Dunst, Glen Powell.
Director: Theodore Melfi
Synopsis: Hidden Figures is an American biographical drama based on true story nonfiction book with
same title written by Margot Lee Shetterly. It is about how the black female mathematicians, during
the segregation period of American History, helped NASA (National Aeronautics and Space
Administration) to launch successful space missions despite the racist work environment.
Review:
Theodore Melfi, a young writer director along with writer Allison Schroeder, brings a great true untold
story of three unknown African American women, Katherine Goble, Mary Jackson, and Dorothy
Vaughan, to life played by some great talents along with great actors like Kevin Costner.

Lao Tzu Religion
Within the bible, Jesus many times over admonishes the covetous feeling towards material wealth.
The passages of Matthew 6:19 through 6:34 exemplify Jesus teachings on living a life without lusting
for material power, and pointing out the pointlessness of amassing worldly treasures. The Old Master,
Lao Tzu was a figure similar to Jesus in both his style of teaching and his message of living a life for
the divine, he would certainly find agreement in Jesus admonishment of desire. In analysis of the
Bible, one notices that Jesus taught a strict adherence to simple living. Within the New International
Version of the bible, specifically Mark 10:25, Jesus states: It is easier for a camel to go through the eye

Both men lived in areas under direct oppression of a governance exploiting the local people. City life
at the time was probably seen as new and undemanding form of living. Jesus had but to look out to the
Essenes or the sheepherding tribes of the area that tried to live out a minimalistic, spiritual lifestyle
with the land. Those same people, he had seen subjugated or destroyed by the Roman governance that
he was at odds with. Similarly, the ruling party in today s China would be the Zhou Dynasty.
According to historian K.E Brashier, the Zhou ruling part was described as: The greater lineage, if it
has survived, is the direct succession from father to eldest son and is not defined via the collateral
shifts of the lesser lineages [...] (Ancestral Memory). It is easy to understand the repercussions of a
patriarchal, father to son, feudal society on the local peasantry. Clearly Lao Tzu and the Taoist sages
recognized the greed of feudal lords would have a direct effect on the well being of the locals. Seeing
an extravagant accumulation of wealth to be sowed by the poor and reaped by the rich, while also
seeing as to how local spiritual leaders survived off the land and provided for themselves would
superbly form the basis of Lao Tzu s anti accumulative philosophy. I could come to the same
conclusion;

Similarities Between The Chronicles Of Narnia
In the film , The Chronicles of Narnia, depicts a parallel story of Christ s crucifixion and resurrection.
The film displays characters who portrays similar characteristics of those in the Bible. For instance ,
The Witch has an analogous distinction to herself that corresponds to the Devil. The Lion who is
forgiving and sacrifices his life to save Edmund represents a similar characteristic to Jesus dying for
our sins. Aslan, the lion, act similar to Christ which distinguishes him as a Christ like figure. On the

sociological is the means to which we are given social values from a given group/person, that
influences how we view the world.
Lucy first introduced by Mr.Tumnus is influenced by his perception on Narnia and the evil White
Witch. Edmund, however, is encountered by the White Witch who deceives him to believe she is the
good one. The Witch lures him into her powers as she exploits his weakness. Furthermore, the film
presents the life stages in which Peter becomes the Knight of Narnia and Edmund s rite of passage
after committing evil acts with the White Witch. Therefore, both of their encounters influenced their

Algernon Selfishness
The Influence of Being Egotistical Some people will do anything to escape reality. The idea of living a
storybook life excites them. They want to face the good, but not the bad. However, a few of those
people take the charade to new levels. They disrupt the lives of everyone around them and try to run
from the consequences. Those people are selfish. In Oscar Wilde s The Importance of Being Earnest,
the reader watches the downfall of a Victorian clique. One of the play s main characters, Algernon, has
decided that he deserves a break from reality. Unsurprisingly, this mindset gets Algy into trouble at
times. Algernon earns the well deserved title of the most shallow and static character through his
attitude towards marriage, his perception of others, and his opinion of himself.
Marriage is meant to be a cherished union between two lovers; however, Algernon s behavior towards
marriage is inherently selfish. Many times throughout The Importance of Being Earnest, Algernon acts
as though marriage is an outdated and boorish concept. Directly after Jack confesses his proposal plan
to Algernon, Algy says I thought you had come up for pleasure? ... I call that business (Wilde 3).

rude and condescending that the reader can have trouble finding the humor. This play is so full of

Imagery in Macbeth
Imagery in Macbeth Violence and the bloodshed that results are important symbols in Shakespeare s
Macbeth. While the blood that is shed is a tangible reminder of the outcomes of misused power, it also
serves as an image that provokes Macbeth to reflect upon his deeds, even if he does not change his
behavior. Macbeth becomes obsessed with the blood on his hands. Unfortunately, this reminder of his
guilt does not prevent him from continuing violent acts.

First Council Of Nicea Analysis
Introduction Prior to the recognition and legalization of Christianity, there was no widely agreed upon
guideline that followers of Christ could abide by. The purpose of the ecumenical councils of the fourth
on fifth centuries was to establish a correct and universal doctrine of the Christian faith. The church
desired to define the person of Jesus Christ and abolish heretical ideas. At the time, these attempts to
establish orthodoxy were futile. Ideas about the faith varied immensely, and those who did not agree
with the instituted beliefs were labeled heretics. However, the combination of these ecumenical
councils and the discussions that stemmed from them provided the building blocks needed to
understand Christianity today. Looking back ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The two bishops opposed each other over conflicting views on the person of Jesus Christ. Nestorius
believed that Jesus had two wills and therefore was also two persons. Nestorius spoke of Jesus and
God the Word, while Cyril believed that Jesus was the Word. (Lane, 56) Nestorius also denied that the
Virgin Mary was theotokos, or God bearer. Cyril heard about this and was displeased, requesting
Nestorius to sign twelve anathemas. Nestorius refused and the emperor called for the council. Cyril
already had a tremendous amount of support from Rome and inevitably won over the council.
Nestorius was disposed of and the Virgin Mary was affirmed the theotokos. A document called the
Formula of Reunion was produced as a compromise. Consequently, the outcome of the council only
created confusion and Alexandria split from

Karl Marx Religion
Karl Marx himself was an atheist and Marxism is an atheistic ideology, meaning that they take
distance from the belief that there is a God . He meant that in the country of reason the mere existence
of God can have no meaning . He gave an example that if you brought your God to a foreign country
that worshipped other Gods, they will provide proof of the non existence of your God . However,
Marx did not address religion in a systematic fashion in any of his writing but at the same time he
touches on the subject recurrently in books, speeches and pamphlets. The reason for this is that one
can clearly see that his critique of religion forms one piece of his overall critique of society. In order to
be able to understand his critique of religion,

Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel proved herself, as a woman, through the years of her accomplishments
(Bio.com). Born on August 18th, 1883 in Saumur France into a horrible situation. Coco did not start

a peddler at the time, willingly threw her and her sisters into an orphanage at the age of twelve only to

Positive Risk Taking Essay
Unit 24
1 1.1
For many people risk is an accepted part of everyday life. Every day activities such as catching the
bus, travelling on holiday, playing football, setting up home and starting a family all carry some
element of risk.
Risk plays a part in our health, safety, security, well being, employment, education, daily activities,
using resources and equipment and in community participation. But some adults, for example disabled
people or older people, are often discouraged from taking risks.
Traditionally they are not encouraged to take risks in areas such as budgeting, planning, employment
and daily living skills. This may be either because of their perceived limitations or fear that they or
others might be harmed. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Ch. 7. Pr. 35
Why does the sampling distribution of the mean follow a normal distribution for a large enough
sample size, even though the population may not be normally distributed?
When you have large sample sizes the effects of the extreme values on the sample mean downsize the
larger the sample sizes are. When you have a large sample, even if the population isn t distributed
normally the sampling distributed of the mean will be very close to normally distributed.
Ch.7 Pr. 36
What is the difference between a population and a sampling distribution?
The sampling distribution is a distribution of the results if all possible samples are selected, where as a
population distribution is the distribution of a particular variable of interest.
Ch. 7 Pr. 37
Under what circumstances does the sampling distribution of the proportion approximately follow the

An Analysis Of Louise Erdrich s The Red Convertible
Mailk Sims Often times, an inanimate object can be as important and sometimes more important than
the characters of the story. In Louise Erdrich s The Red Convertible, the car played the same important
role as the characters did, but for different reasons. Two brothers, Lyman and Henry, had very little in
common other than their blood. One day they decided to catch a ride to Winnipeg. The car was
introduced while these two were doing some sightseeing in the city. They spotted the red Oldsmobile
convertible. Lyman, the storyteller, almost made the car a living thing when he said, There it was,
parked, large as life. Really as if it were alive. (461) The brothers used all of the money they had, less
some change for gas to get home, to buy the car. The car s significance was the bond that it created
between the brothers. The purchase of the vehicle brought these two together with a common interest:
the car. Once the bond was formed, the brothers became inseparable, at least for a while. The boys
spent the whole summer in the car. They explored new places; met new people and furthered the bond
that the car had created. When they returned from their trip, Henry was sent to war. He left the car
with Lyman. While Henry was gone, Lyman spent his time pampering and fixing the car. Lyman saw
the car as an extension of Henry. Lyman used the car to maintain an emotional bond with his brother
who was thousands of miles away. During the war, Henry was taken P.O.W. and spent time

Compare And Contrast The Traditional Management Style Of...
Traditional Management Styles of the United States versus China
Abstract
Chinese and Western management styles have varied greatly for many years, but are now beginning to
merge. With more and more Western companies opening offices in China, managers are using hybrid
styles of management. The combining of Chinese and Western styles of management have helped both
companies and managers to become successful. This is due to the positive manager employee
relationships that develop and lead to high job satisfaction. Chinese managers are creating strong
relationships and social networks not only within their company, but with other mangers working at
different companies throughout the world. Companies that open offices in China often use ... Show

American managers have been using several management styles that been effective in their
companies.
Autocratic Management Style The autocratic management style is also known as the authoritative
style where managers tend to be driven by the achievement of results and the desire to make things
happen. The managers who follow this kind of style have strong personalities, which allow them to
perform and demand the best performance from their workers (Bono Heller, 2006). This management
style involves the managers making decisions on their own and this allows the decision making
process to be very fast. The managers are also very tactful as they provide a firm but fair approach
providing direction in the company. The autocratic management style leads companies to achieve the
stated results at the expense of the relationship between the staff and the managers. This management
style usually leads to a high turnover rate among employees. Such managers portray particular
characteristics that enable them to become authoritative and to use this management style. They are
usually very competitive and focused on attaining specific goals and achievements within the market
(Bono Heller, 2006). These managers are known to be overbearing and assertive in everything they do
as they also like to put a lot of emphasis on their accomplishments. The business environment and the
cultures of most American companies are very competitive. For most companies to

Product: Screwdriver
PICTURE
Processes:
Making the steel bar
Making the Handle
Assembly
Quality Control
INTRO
The screwdriver was firstly seen in the 19th century, which came from the flat bladed bit used in a
carpenters brace.
The function of a screwdriver is . A screwdriver has three main parts. A shaft, a tip and a handle.
P1
The materials mostly used to make the parts is plastic for the handle, steel bar and chromium (or
nickel) for the steel tip of the screwdriver.
For the steel bar, large amounts of green wire is sent to a factory. The wire is drawn to the correct size
diameter by a machine and after the wire is made into a rod. Then the rod is made to its correct size by
being put inside a die. To produce the correct strength for the wire goes through heating treating. It is
heated for around 12 hours for the best strength. Once this is done, by using a string forge the wire is
straightened and is put in a cold forming press. This makes the wire have its correct length by cutting
it, it also forms the screwdriver tip and the wings for the handle for it to correctly fit. After this, by the
heated wire. Blades are formed for the tip from the dies. This is done when the screwdriver goes in the
press. After all this the tool has formed wings and it is worn down.
Then the automatic tipping machine makes the point on the bar. After one more

2. If you had the ability to change your group project, how would you alter it and why? (1 paragraph)
I would alter the project by using the formula of VO2max=15x(HRmax/HRrest), and have each
participant perform a VO2Max test, by using the metabolic cart. I would then compare the results
from the metabolic cart and the VO2 equation, and them compare the results for comparison. I would
make this change, because our group had to alter the formula of VO2max=15x(HRmax/HRrest), in
order to perform a submaximal test. What we did was calculated the max heart rate, and multiplied
that value by 85% of VO2 which would be considered a submaximal test.
I would have liked to have seen the comparison to the equation and the metabolic cart, to see if there
was an increase or decrease in the values of each of the measurements of maximal oxygen
consumption. This would be interesting to analyze, because the population will not always have a
metabolic cart around to measure VO2. If the equation showed similar values to the metabolic cart, the
equation would be a good tool to use for estimation if the metabolic cart was not available.
3. For your project, were the test procedures provided in the Metabolic Cart/VO2 Testing lecture
followed? Which steps were followed and which were not? If steps were not followed, why? (2

The Issue Of Tobacco Advertising
The issue of how tobacco companies try to influence teenagers into adulthood to consume tobacco
was further highlighted in a legal case in the US that resulted in a ban on certain adverts that were said
to attract the young into smoking Camel cigarettes.
The supporters made a strong argument on the financial contribution of the tobacco industry to the
Indian economy, in that they showed that not only the profits made in tax were low, but the spending
made on health as a result of smoking, surpassed the tax profits by one third of the tax revenue. In
regards to lost jobs as a result of decreased sales of tobacco products, it was claimed that a study
found that there was a good chance for job creation, as consumers will shift their money to other
industries that require more workers than the tobacco industry.
Supporters of the ban used a research made by the World Bank which highlighted the positive results a
total ban on tobacco advertising had in other countries across the world. The same results were found
by the UK government and these were presented by the supporters to strengthen their case. Another
robust piece of evidence was a research by the International Union against Cancer that clearly showed
a slump in tobacco use of 14 to 37% following a total ban of tobacco advertising. These reliable
scientific pieces of evidence clearly showed that a ban on advertising of tobacco products does work.

I agree with Mark that vouchers divert public money to unaccountable private institutions, such as
charter schools. Most private schools also have the ability to deny admission and still be able to accept
the taxpayer money. Private schools also have the ability to cherry pick students, unlike public
schools. As we discussed in recitations, private schools are more likely to choose students in a dual
parent household because they believe that those parents are more likely to be involved in school
activities. I believe that public taxpayer money should only provide support for public schools that are
accountable and open for all people. Another reason why I dislike the voucher system is that vouchers

Speech On Harmony In Diversity
Based on Oxford Advanced Learner s Dictionary, diversity is the state of being varied or simply we
can say diversity means variety . Diversity is a part of our life. Without diversity, everything will keep
to be same. Everyone will have same hair colour, same type of intrest, same clothes and the
worst, everyone will do the same thing, everytime, everywhere! Can you seriously imagine that?! If this
really happend,I m very sure, without any doubt , the world will be so boring . To me , diversity is like
the variety colours of rainbow. We know well that without the colours, the beautiful rainbow will
never exist. To me, that is one of the reasons why harmony in diversity must be nurtured and cherish.

The Relationship Between Sleep And Social Rhythms Essay
Hypothesis, Methods, Results, and Validity In 2009, researchers, Colleen E. Carney Ph.D., Jack D.
Edinger, Björn Meyer, Linda Lindman, and Tai Istre, published their study called, Daily Activities and
Sleep Quality in College Students . The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between
sleep and social rhythms. The researchers acknowledged that, It has long been recognized that
consistent and qualitatively satisfying sleep is largely dependent on a robust and well entrained
endogenous circadian rhythm (Carney, Edinger, Meyer, Lindman, and Istre, 2009). The researchers
further explained that in their study they were going to attempt to establish a relationship between one
s daily activities and social engagements to his or her sleep quality. The researchers hypothesized that,
self reported good sleepers would report more daily activities, show earlier daily scheduling of their
social rhythms, have social rhythms characterized by greater regularity, and be involved in more
activities with active social engagement than would poor sleepers (Carney et al., 2009). To test their
hypothesis the researchers gather 243 willing participants between the ages of 18 and 39 years. The
sample was mostly female and Caucasian, but other ethnicities and races were present to ensure a

Film Score Music
Film Score Music
To say that music plays a large role in our society would not do justice to one of the most important
and popular art forms of yesterday and today. We underestimate the effectiveness and power that
music, in any form , can have over even the most insensitive of people. In almost everything we do
and see music is involved in some form or another. Be it a piece played at a wedding, a song played on
the radio or even the music played in the background in a television commercial. The music is always
there, reminding us of past experiences, making us smile and feel exhilaration and sometimes even
making us cry. It is this power that music has over us that film score composers take advantage of
when they are writing the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The musicians paid little attention to the film and played arbitrarily. This meant that often a serious or
dramatic scene would be occurring on the screen wile the musician played something comical or
something that belonged to a scene with a car chase. Sound effects men were soon added to the sounds
behind a film. This would be a man that created noises, erg. train whistles and bells, fire engine bells,
gun shots, explosions, cannon fire, etc. in order to add realism to the film. This made movie going
more popular which in turn bettered the standard of movie making. It was at this point that the
musicians hired to accompany the films began to take the music more seriously. Set standards were
created but the musicians job was to make sure that these standards did not become monotonous. They
also began the use of simple motif that would introduce a character or foreshadow an event. The
motifs are the elements of the music that are extremely important in shaping the characters and the
theme of the film. It was the use of these motifs that made the music much more sophisticated and
people began to take the films more seriously. The idea of motifs did not disintegrate but rather
became an important technique in the scoring of films in the years to come. By this time the music
was ceasing to be merely and extra job for Vaudeville musicians and had actually become an art that
needed and was given thought. The house musician, which later became

Opositions to Thomas Malthus Theory on Population Growth
Thomas Malthus was an early 19th century English scholar who specializes in political economy and
demographics. One of his most well known and influential works An Essay on the Principle of
Population argued that the increase in population growth would ultimately create social and economic
problems for a nation. On the contrary, many famous political economists such as Ester Boserup and
Julian Simon suggested different views about population and resource growth; which contradicts the
Malthus theory. Thomas Malthus wrote An Essay on the Principle of Population argued that the
increasing rate of population growth is the impetus of many social and economic issues that affects
our society. His belief was that population increases in geometrical scale whilst basic supply for
humans increase in arithmetical scale, I SAID THAT POPULATION, WHEN UNCHECKED,
increased in a geometrical ratio, and subsistence for man in an arithmetical ratio. (Quoted from An
Essay on the Principle of Population, Chapter 2, page 6) Malthus believed that overpopulation would
lead to mass malnutrition, famine, disease and even war. He proposed two kinds of method that could
keep the population in a sustainable level. First is preventative checks, which suggested using moral
restrains such as the practice of abstinence and criminal punishments for those who had children that
they could not support. The other method is positive checks. Positive checks are factors that could
increase the death

The Flame of Life
A single word inserted or removed can change the feeling of a story in an instant; creating tingles that
trickle along the length of your spine or even a compulsive movement to put down the piece and never
pick it up again. In many cases an author will write and rewrite their tales until they are perfect. Jack
London was very much one of these authors, sending his first version of To Build a Fire to a magazine
before rewriting it into the masterpiece of which many are more familiar with today. However, only
one of the versions strongly exemplifies the hard truth and fight against uncontrollable and
unpredictable nature which is realism and naturalism. In many ways are London s two distinct pieces
of work similar, but also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So, one man was a physical being, set in stone, while the other was simply a figure of our
imaginations per say, molded to our own liking one merely arrogant, the other simply ignorant. The
main character frozen and idiotic, was drastically changed in these two works.
The details in London s works consume us, and wrap us in his vivid, yet simple and repetitive
descriptions of the settings of his works. In To Build a Fire the depiction of the bitter cold and the
biting frost are what make the reader seem almost cold themselves, and understand how intense and
severe it was a perfect example of realism. The harsh ways in which he wrote pounding every sense of
numbness the man was feeling into the reader chilled us to the bone in the 1908 adaption. London
states in the second variation, He did not expose his fingers more than a minute and was astonished at
the swift numbness that smote them...He pulled the mitten on hastily, and beat the hand savagely
across his chest (486). Meanwhile, the 1902 version simply let us know that it was quite cold and that
this man would simply survive even though he may have had to work for it, there is nothing urgent
about the piercing frost. Strong cases of Naturalism and Realism are evident in the 1908 version. In
the latter adaption, London changed key words and elongated

The Role Of Macro Social Work
Macro social work is the process of investigating a large scale of social problems and developing and
implementing social interventions meant to create positive change at community, state, and national
levels. The use of social practices such as research, program development, community based
interventions, advocacy, policy analysis, and administration are used to identify and implement change
needed for addressing and improving large scale social issues. Macro social workers investigate social
issues by conducting research, data methods, and direct practice. Some macro social workers are used
to develop programs for certain communities or specific demographics among these communities.
Another important role of macro social work is advocacy. At a macro level, advocating for
disadvantaged populations could be lobbying for changes at the legislative level, presenting current
community issues to government officials, and even educating community members about identified
issues among their community. The practice of macro social work is very broad but the important
component is understanding the context of the environment and focusing on groups and communities
and not just one individual. An area of practice at the macro level of social work is community
organizing. Community organizing begins with the process of identifying targets of injustice in the
local neighborhood (Brueggemann, 2014, p. 243). Part of community organizing is watching how the

based pass parallel SPIHT is one of the widely used compression much simpler and faster than many
existing compression techniques. The drawback of existing method is a poor quality, compression
block size of the image is large and the compression efficiency is very low. In this paper we discussed
about various compression algorithm to overcome this problem. In improvement of block based pass
parallel algorithm carry select adder is used to enhance the speed, efficiency and to reduce area. Index

INTRODUCTION Digital images are very large in size and occupy large storage space. They take
larger bandwidth and take more time for upload and download through the internet. In order to
overcome this problem various compression algorithms are used. Wavelet based image coding, such
as the JPEG2000 standard, is widely used because of its high compression efficiency. There are three
important wavelet based image coding algorithms are used that have embedded coding property

The Tampa Museum Of Art
For this project, I chose the Tampa Museum of Art. My daughter Annabelle, who is eleven,
accompanied me. She is an aspiring young artist who loves to paint and assemble collages. This paper
will describe our trip, the museum s activities, and what was on exhibit. After which, I will choose two
works of art and preform an analysis on them. I will employ the formal elements and the principles of
design to engage the first piece, The Great Journey . With my second choice A Group of Cubans who
left Manzanillo are Rescued at Sea , I will discuss how applying an alternative contextual analysis
would help in understanding the meaning behind the painting more. The museum was celebrating
Family Day as well as Hispanic Heritage Month, so Annabelle and I were able to enjoy all the special
activities that were being held. She was able to partake in all the art making activities e.g. drawing and
painting different objects with different media. After Annabelle was finished, we watched the Sones de
Mexico, a group of Hispanic children from all around the bay area. The group of dancers performed
traditional dances from all over the different regions of Mexico. The dances were honestly astounding
and beautiful to watch. All the time and effort that those young children put in, just to learn the dances
is remarkable. Furthermore, the fact that they are working so diligently to keep their heritage alive and
thriving here in the US is inspiring. My daughter and I

Internal Analysis:

Want successfully differentiates itself from its competitors through features such as taste, design, and
packaging. Want s relationship with its bottle manufacturer is an intangible benefit. They provide
Want with the opportunity to produce low volume quantities, given their current cash flow situation,
and allow flexible scheduling resulting in shorter lead time. Want has built a socially responsible
image by its charitable donations to action sports in local communities; an activity that no other
energy drink competitors offer. Another strength is the Moffats experience with their target market and

A Discussion Of Archetypes In The Lamb And The Tyger
Innocents over Experience
A discussion of the archetypes in The Lamb/ the Tyger A questioned asked by all of us is used in both
poems, Doust thou know who made thy? (Lamb L2)We all wonder who made us and are some of us
made with innocents like a lamb, or made like a Tyger experienced. Can a Lamb and Tyger be similar
or are they completely different? The Lamb by William Blake represents the animal as godly and
innocents. While The Tyger William wonders who or what could make something so evil or so cruel.

innocents of the lamb. The question in The Tyger is never answered, Blake only questions did god
make you like the lamb or where you created by someone else? Are humans like a lamb or a tiger, can
we be categorized in the two or can we be both? People are born a lamb and can be a lamb their whole

Essay On Japanese Food
Although I m not Japanese, I have lived in Japan for several years. I have to admit, I fell in love with
Japanese cuisine. The taste and the aroma fascinates me and I can not help going back to Japanese
restaurants every now and then. More than anything, I love rice!
When I used to came back home from work, all I wanted to eat was a meals that had rice in it. One
may call me obsessed but what do you expect from a man who ate nothing but rice for many years and
loved it! The problem I faced was that, no matter how much I tried, I never got that restaurant like
flavor with my rice. I switched rice cookers, even tried alternative recipes, but nothing worked for me.
One day I was just skimming the shelves at the mall when something caught my eye. It was the
Zojirushi NS TGC10 rice warmer and cooker. A lot of attractive features were listed and when I
checked the price, I was shocked because it was almost half of what I had paid for all the different rice
makers so far. I decided to give it a try. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

U.s. Securities And Exchange
The U.S. Securities and Exchange (SEC) was created in response to the 1929 stock market crash
which was responsible to monitor and regulate the stock market after the crash which led to the Great
Depression. Since the creation of U.S. Securities and Exchange agency multiple laws and regulations
were added to help maintain the balance and oversight of the exchanges and the stock market.
Additional laws and regulations have been added as a result in condition or incident within the stock
market, corporations, and securities. Several scandals since 2002 have led to an increase of laws and
regulations, these laws have led to controversial topics dealing with the costs associated by enacting
regulations. Are we over or under regulating, or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Costs are not only measured with the effects of the economy in mind, they are measured in how they
will affect people and their future.
The cost of under regulation can be detrimental to the future of securities. As our nation s securities
exchanges mature into global for profit competitors, there is even greater need for sound market
regulation. And the common interest of all Americans in a growing economy that produces jobs,
improves our standard of living, and protects the value of our savings means that all of the SEC s
actions must be taken with an eye toward promoting the capital formation that is necessary to sustain
economic growth. (www.sec.gov, n.d.) This statement, part of the SEC introduction, describes the
monumental task to regulate and manage investments for everyone. Costs associated with under
regulation can be measured in billions of dollars lost over the past decade in businesses such as Enron,
Tyco International, WorldCom, and many others. These corporations misused laws and regulations by
inflating earnings and bad corporate accounting practices. The cost to investors was in the billions of
dollars and led to onset of laws to include Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002, Dodd Frank Wall Street
Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010, and Jumpstart Our Business Startups (JOBS) Act. As
all these laws were enacted to protect investors, some controversies arose outlining second and third
order effects of imposed regulations. With all the

The National Parks Service oversees managing the natural resources of the United States fifty nine national parks (Allgov, 2017). During his presidency, he reserved millions of acres, through executive orders, and turned it into national forests, including what is known as the Midnight Forests (FWS, 2017). The midnight forests are forests created by Theodore Roosevelt. President Roosevelt created the midnight forests as one last executive order before he signed an amendment to the nation s land laws, which removed the power of the president to set aside land for national parks and forest with executive order (NPS, 2017). However, people can distinguished a scene but is not able to tell a descriptive information whether it has been changed or not in a specific scene. Descriptive information can lead to schema consistent or inconsistent information to be processed into the memory. • 5. Political Elements In A Christmas Carol And Rip Van Carolol It s All Political (Ch. 13) 1. Why does nearly all writing contain political elements? Nearly all writing contains political elements, because an author usually includes the world around them when writing. Authors will embrace society in their writing by showing the political injustices, such as civil rights, power structures, different classes in the society, and many more. When authors bring in what s going on around them into their writing, they are most likely bringing in political elements as well. 2. What is the political background that can be seen examples such as A Christmas Carol and Rip Van Winkle ? The political background in A Christmas Carol is focused on the belief by a British social thinker, Thomas Malthus, who believes that giving the poor food and basic essential for life will only lead to the creation of more poor people in the society. Scrooge along with the rest of the population at the time thought this way, and that s why after the Christmas spirits took Scrooge on a journey through his past, present, and future, he became a more giving person that wanted to help the poor instead of looking the other way. Rip Van Winkle had a political statement considering the monarchy and how like America, a democracy is what is best for the people, because instead of one, ultimate ruler, the people were allowed to govern themselves. 3. Are individualism and self determination against the needs of society for conformity and stability? Individualism and self determination are against the needs of society for conformity and stability, because a society needs people that help out for it to function as a constant, strong society. People acting on their own will only bring down a society, because a society runs on its people contributing to it. Yes, She s a Christ Figure Too (Ch. 14) 1. Why are there Christ figures? Christ figures in literature can be used for a number of reasons, such as the author wanting to make a specific point, about the characters sacrifice, their redemption, their hope, and their miracles. The author may also want to use the Christ figure ironically to make the character and their sacrifice look smaller, while making the great sacrifice by Jesus Christ much bigger. ... After binge watching many super hero movies it shocks me how the overwhelming majority rely on a villain being disabled and because of that wanting revenge. It frustrates me the messages these villains send to kids. I hope that DC in the future continues to explore her as a character but in a way that aids the need for strong female leads. • 22. Karl Marx Religion Karl Marx himself was an atheist and Marxism is an atheistic ideology, meaning that they take distance from the belief that there is a God . He meant that in the country of reason the mere existence of God can have no meaning . He gave an example that if you brought your God to a foreign country that worshipped other Gods, they will provide proof of the non existence of your God . However, Marx did not address religion in a systematic fashion in any of his writing but at the same time he touches on the subject recurrently in books, speeches and pamphlets. The reason for this is that one can clearly see that his critique of religion forms one piece of his overall critique of society. In order to be able to understand his critique of religion, ... In Louise Erdrich s The Red Convertible, the car played the same important role as the characters did, but for different reasons. Two brothers, Lyman and Henry, had very little in common other than their blood. One day they decided to catch a ride to Winnipeg. The car was introduced while these two were doing some sightseeing in the city. They spotted the red Oldsmobile convertible. Lyman, the storyteller, almost made the car a living thing when he said, There it was, parked, large as life. Really as if it were alive. (461) The brothers used all of the money they had, less some change for gas to get home, to buy the car. The car s significance was the bond that it created between the brothers. The purchase of the vehicle brought these two together with a common interest: the car. Once the bond was formed, the brothers became inseparable, at least for a while. The boys spent the whole summer in the car. They explored new places; met new people and furthered the bond that the car had created. When they returned from their trip, Henry was sent to war. He left the car with Lyman. While Henry was gone, Lyman spent his time pampering and fixing the car. Lyman saw the car as an extension of Henry. P1 The materials mostly used to make the parts is plastic for the handle, steel bar and chromium (or nickel) for the steel tip of the screwdriver. For the steel bar, large amounts of green wire is sent to a factory. The wire is drawn to the correct size diameter by a machine and after the wire is made into a rod. I would then compare the results from the metabolic cart and the VO2 equation, and them compare the results for comparison. I would make this change, because our group had to alter the formula of VO2max=15x(HRmax/HRrest), in order to perform a submaximal test. What we did was calculated the max heart rate, and multiplied that value by 85% of VO2 which would be considered a submaximal test. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between sleep and social rhythms. The researchers acknowledged that, It has long been recognized that consistent and qualitatively satisfying sleep is largely dependent on a robust and well entrained endogenous circadian rhythm (Carney, Edinger, Meyer, Lindman, and Istre, 2009). The researchers hypothesized that, self reported good sleepers would report more daily activities, show earlier daily scheduling of their social rhythms, have social rhythms characterized by greater regularity, and be involved in more activities with active social engagement than would poor sleepers (Carney et al., 2009). On the contrary, many famous political economists such as Ester Boserup and Julian Simon suggested different views about population and resource growth; which contradicts the Malthus theory. The Flame of Life A single word inserted or removed can change the feeling of a story in an instant; creating tingles that trickle along the length of your spine or even a compulsive movement to put down the piece and never pick it up again. In many cases an author will write and rewrite their tales until they are perfect. Jack London was very much one of these authors, sending his first version of To Build a Fire to a magazine before rewriting it into the masterpiece of which many are more familiar with today. However, only one of the versions strongly exemplifies the hard truth and fight against uncontrollable and unpredictable nature which is realism and naturalism. In many ways are London s two distinct pieces of work similar, but also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So, one man was a physical being, set in stone, while the other was simply a figure of our imaginations per say, molded to our own liking one merely arrogant, the other simply ignorant. The main character frozen and idiotic, was drastically changed in these two works. The details in London s works consume us, and wrap us in his vivid, yet simple and repetitive descriptions of the settings of his works. In To Build a Fire the depiction of the bitter cold and the biting frost are what make the reader seem almost cold themselves, and understand how intense and severe it was a perfect example of realism. The harsh ways in which he wrote pounding every sense of numbness the man was feeling into the reader chilled us to the bone in the 1908 adaption. London states in the second variation, He did not expose his fingers more than a minute and was astonished at the swift numbness that smote them...He pulled the mitten on hastily, and beat the hand savagely across his chest (486). Meanwhile, the 1902 version simply let us know that it was quite cold and that this man would simply survive even though he may have had to work for it, there is nothing urgent about the piercing frost. Strong cases of Naturalism and Realism are evident in the 1908 version. In the latter adaption, London changed key words and elongated ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. The Role Of Macro Social Work Macro social work is the process of investigating a large scale of social problems and developing and implementing social interventions meant to create positive change at community, state, and national levels. The use of social practices such as research, program development, community based interventions, advocacy, policy analysis, and administration are used to identify and implement change needed for addressing and improving large scale social issues. Macro social workers investigate social issues by conducting research, data methods, and direct practice. Some macro social workers are used to develop programs for certain communities or specific demographics among these communities. Another important role of macro social work is advocacy. At a macro level, advocating for disadvantaged populations could be lobbying for changes at the legislative level, presenting current community issues to government officials, and even educating community members about identified issues among their community. The practice of macro social work is very broad but the important component is understanding the context of the environment and focusing on groups and communities and not just one individual. An area of practice at the macro level of social work is community organizing. Community organizing begins with the process of identifying targets of injustice in the local neighborhood (Brueggemann, 2014, p. 243). Part of community organizing is watching how the local government ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

BPS is block based pass parallel SPIHT is one of the widely used compression much simpler and faster than many existing compression techniques. The drawback of existing method is a poor quality, compression block size of the image is large and the compression efficiency is very low. In this paper we discussed about various compression algorithm to overcome this problem. In improvement of block based pass parallel algorithm carry select adder is used to enhance the speed, efficiency and to reduce area. Index term Block Based Pass Parallel algorithm (BPS), Set partitioning in hierarchical trees (SPIHT) I. INTRODUCTION Digital images are very large in size and occupy large storage space. They take larger bandwidth and take more time for upload and download through the internet. In order to overcome this problem various compression algorithms are used. Wavelet based image coding, such as the JPEG2000 standard, is widely used because of its high compression efficiency. There are three important wavelet based image coding algorithms are used that have embedded coding property enabling easy bit rate control with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

She is an aspiring young artist who loves to paint and assemble collages. This paper will describe our trip, the museum s activities, and what was on exhibit. After which, I will choose two works of art and preform an analysis on them. I will employ the formal elements and the principles of design to engage the first piece, The Great Journey . With my second choice A Group of Cubans who left Manzanillo are Rescued at Sea , I will discuss how applying an alternative contextual analysis would help in understanding the meaning behind the painting more. The museum was celebrating Family Day as well as Hispanic Heritage Month, so Annabelle and I were able to enjoy all the special activities that were being held. She was able to partake in all the art making activities e.g. drawing and painting different objects with different media. After Annabelle was finished, we watched the Sones de Mexico, a group of Hispanic children from all around the bay area. The group of dancers performed traditional dances from all over the different regions of Mexico. The dances were honestly astounding and beautiful to watch. All the time and effort that those young children put in, just to learn the dances is remarkable. Furthermore, the fact that they are working so diligently to keep their heritage alive and thriving here in the US is inspiring. My daughter and I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The cost of under regulation can be detrimental to the future of securities. As our nation s securities exchanges mature into global for profit competitors, there is even greater need for sound market regulation. And the common interest of all Americans in a growing economy that produces jobs, improves our standard of living, and protects the value of our savings means that all of the SEC s actions must be taken with an eye toward promoting the capital formation that is necessary to sustain economic growth.
