The Usa Patriot Act And The Homeland Security Act
September 11, 2001 is a date that will live on forever in American history, much like the date of
December 7, 1941. As President Franklin D. Roosevelt stated it is a date, which will live in infamy.
The fear and the need to protect the country and its citizens from future terrorist attacks resulted in the
U.S. Government to enact two different policies. The Uniting and Strengthening America by
Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorist Act (also known as the USA
PATRIOT Act) and the Homeland Security Act. Many individual feel that these two policies have
infringed the rights of the American people, while others believe that these infringements are a
necessity to ensure the safety of the people. This paper will explore if in fact these two policies are
unreasonably and unjustly infringing on the rights of the American People, and how it effect the social
justice system in America The USA PATRIOT Act was signed into law October 26, 2001, a little more
then a month after the horrific attacks of 9/11; the Homeland Security Act was signed into law thirteen
months later on November 25, 2002. The purpose of the USA PATRIOT ACT was to create the
process that the Government and its organizations uses to investigate terrorists that are currently living
within the Unites States borders and abroad. The Homeland Security Act was created to consolidate
over 20 different federal organizations into the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This

Bilingual Observation Report
New fossils of our species were unearthed from Morocco that makes the evidence soar past about
100,000 years.
The bones, about 300,000 years old, were discovered thousands of miles from the previous record
holder, unearthed in fossil rich eastern Africa. The new discovery tells more about our ancient people
with a mix of modern and more primitive qualities.
They are not just like us, said Jean Jacques Hublin, one of the scientists reporting the find. But they
had basically the face you could meet on the train in New York.
The Moroccan fossils unearthed suggest that Homo sapiens may have experienced our own one in any
place in Africa, said Hublin, of the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig,
Germany, and the College ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The discovery could explain the theory of evolution of our spices. Chris Stringer and Julia Galway
Witham of the Natural History Museum in London released in a Nature commentary.
In the last 300,000 years, the main story is the change of the brain, Hublin said.
Some experts who didn t take part in the discovery called that idea attainable despite the fact it was
not explained. John Shea, However, who is an anthropologist at Stony Brook University in New York,
said it s better to think of the different local people as a single one.
These are parts of a network, through which ideas and genes flowed, he said.
Shea said it was possible to unearth such old traces of early Homo sapiens in northwestern Africa.
However, finding them there does not mean that our species first made an appearance there.
When it comes to evidence for human origins in north west Africa versus Eastern Africa versus
southern Africa, it s a tie, he wrote in an email.
Richard Potts of the Smithsonian Institution s National Museum of Natural History said the Morocco
fossils appear to reflect the very early transition to Homo sapiens, very possibly denoting the outset of
the lineage to which all people

Tully Constitutionalism
A powerful and compelling case for cross cultural consensus on fundamental constitutional principles
is outlined by James Tully in lectures delivered at Cambridge in 1994 and in essays based on his
involvement in the work of the Canadian Royal Commission on Aboriginal Peoples (Tully 1995;
2008). Tully argues that the dominant language in which the claims of Indigenous people have been
assessed is both Eurocentric and imperial. It is hostile to cultural diversity in general and to
Indigenous cultures in particular. But there is another language available to us, in which the claims of
Indigenous peoples can be put forward and negotiated in ways that are not prejudicial from the outset
and that provides a basis for differential rights and distinct ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

As such, it is a precondition for rather than a part of democracy: the rules of political association are
not themselves subject to negotiation. For Tully, this language of modern constitutionalism is not so
much universal as imperial: it served to justify European imperialism and continues to justify the
imperial rule of former colonies over Indigenous peoples (Tully 1995, 96). In response to this
diagnosis, he argues in Strange Multiplicity (1995) that the language of contemporary
constitutionalism is more diverse than is often realised. Alongside the language of modern
constitutionalism there is the language of common constitutionalism, derived from older traditions that
allow for the persistence of diverse legal and political traditions within a given association. This
developed through the English common law tradition and through encounters with the different
languages of non European constitutionalism. In the course of the colonisation of North America, it
led to the emergence of the Aboriginal and common law system of constitutional association, founded
on the three principles of recognition, consent and

Snowflake Persuasive Speech
I m Snowflake, one of Santa s elves that work here in the toy factory. I am also the main helper for
Santa, I make sure that all of the toys are finished and perfect. I ve been working here for longer than
you can imagine. Today I have an important job directly from Santa. I have to give all of the elves a
performance check. A performance check is when I have to make sure each individual elf is doing the
job that they were a signed to. If they are doing what they are supposed to do Santa says that I have to
put them in candy cane jail, with all of the elf criminals. I ve seen the elves in candy cane jail once, it
was horrifying! Most of the elf criminals that are in there are for stolen toys! I know what you are

Even the richest countries buy raw materials for their industries from the poorest countries. If every
country produces only for its own needs, then production and consumption of goods would be limited.
Clearly, such situation hampers economic progress. Furthermore, the standard of living of the people
all over the world would have no chance to improve. Because of international trade, people with
money can acquire goods and services which are not available in their own countries. Hence,
satisfaction of consumers can be maximized.(hubpages, 2011)
Economic integration and global markets to UK business organizations
Globalization gives companies access to wider markets and consumers access to a greater variety of
goods and services. But the benefits of globalization are not always shared by all of the parties
involved in trade. Unfortunately, developing countries which need the potential benefits of
globalization the most are often the losers. The downside of global capitalism is the disruption of
whole societies, from financial meltdowns to practices by multinationals that would never be tolerated
in the West, the Business Week article noted. Industrialized countries have enacted all sorts of worker,
consumer, and environmental safeguards since the turn of the century, and civil rights have a strong
tradition. But the global economy is pretty much still in the robber baron age.

Crowd Psychology
The question that I intend to study is: How do shy people react in a crowd? (do they become
aggressive/ assertive as per mob psychology, or shrink as per their personality)? There are various
theories regarding the mode of behavior in a crowd. Some, such as Freud, posit that people behavior
changes in a crowd and they become more restless and less individualistic. Mob theory, in fact, is born
form this which asserts that crowds are the source of volatile conduct where diverse people gang
together for a particular cause. Minds merge and each person s enthusiasm becomes increased as a
result. On the other hand, you have the Convergence theory that posits that the cause is born
beforehand and that people join the crowd in order to put their cause into practice. The crowd, in other
words, enables them to accomplish their objective and it makes them more enthusiastic and
entrenched in their mission. Social psychologists leBon (1895) and Zimbardo (1969) see the crowd as
an instigator of individuation. Stimuli such as mergence into a larger whole, the rush of the
environment, the pressure of the crowd, the sensory overload and so forth blur mental input and
causes a deindivdualistic individual to appear. One thing that is remarkable about all of these theories
is that they tend to generalize assuming categorical behavior to all individuals and providing the
aspect of crowd with anthropomorphic qualities. Indeed, Schweingruber and Wohlstein
(PsyBlog.com) point out that crowd

Ownership And Sense Of Self
What does it mean to you when you own something? Is it the gratification that makes it rewarding? Or
is it the cost and struggle it took to buy it? Or how about what others think about your object?
Ownership and sense of self comes together as a perception of how we see ourself being an owner.
Buying something from a store or from a person makes it yours. When you buy something you re
paying for it in money that you earned which then makes it yours. People might say if they take an
object or find it, the object then belongs to them. They would be wrong since it would still belong to
that person even though they have it in their possession.
Ownership is important in a way that makes it a part of you. Mortimer J. Adler wrote, Full

How Did Honey Affect Aboriginal Culture
Regarded as a very important part of the aboriginal culture, bees have been used by aborigines for
food, tools and trade for thousands of years. Honey held great values and was considered a sign of
respect. This was shown when honey was given to tribal elders by the hunters. Honey was treated as a
highly prized substance, giving as a gift or traded as a valuable product. If this valuable substance was
not traded or gifted, aborigines would simply use it to sweeten foods.
Referred to as Sugarbag by the aborigines, native honey contains a lot of resin from native trees such
as the eucalyptus tree. Due to its value, honey was scavenged for and found in nests located in trees,
stumps, rocky crevices and muddy river banks. In order for the aborigines to find native bee hives,
hunters would catch foraging bees and attach small pieces of light weight materials such as pieces of
feather, spider web or grass to the pollen sacs or resin that was being collected by the bees. ... Show

The bee s flight speed was then decreased and slow enough for the aboriginals to follow it back to its
hive.
Hives that were situated high in a tree were not disturbed by cutting down the tree, instead, the honey
was gathered by carving foot holes into the tree. This allowed for the aboriginals to climb up to the
hive. The contents of the hive would then be obtained and left to recover and rebuild, to be collected at
a later date.
Beeswax and resin were important for making weaponry. These bee by products were used to fasten
pieces of stone to wood. This would be achieved by heating the wax until it became a malleable liquid
and would then be poured over the two materials and left to dry. Once dried, the honey would harden
acting as a strong glue to hold the material together to be used for hunting

Economies of Scale
The largest single driving force behind mergers and acquisitions is probably economies of scale.
Economies of scale means that if you have a large company, you can leverage your suppliers. This is a
very powerful capability, and exercising it can be a strategic move for a company s operations. You
can save a tremendous amount of money on services such as health insurance we all know that health
insurance is extraordinarily expensive and getting more so every day. I know about the strategic
benefits of economies of scale from my personal experience of working as a consultant in a small
merger and acquisition in 2006 in which two failing private schools joined together to become one
successful entity. One of the major contributing factors for the success of this merger was that the
combined organization had more people who were buying health insurance; as a result, the health
insurance company substantially dropped their premiums because the risk was being spread across
more people. Large companies can also buy basic supplies such as paper, pencils, and paperclips less
expensively from suppliers when they buy in larger quantities. They simply get a

The alligator, even more than the alligator gar, represents the ultimate of big game bowfishing within
the confines of the United States. These large, sinister looking reptiles look exactly like what they are
the ancient, unchanged survivors of a world millions of years dead, still gliding through the muddy
waters of the American South after countless other species have perished. Quick moving when
necessary, dangerously aggressive on occasion especially when provoked heavily armored with thick,
knobby scales, and instantly recognizable, alligators are rapidly becoming a favorite target of sport
bowfishermen, who appreciate their unique challenge.
The AMS Bowfishing Gator Kit is designed to help you in handling these robust, vigorous reptiles
with your bowfishing bow and arrows. Since alligators are so strong and aggressive, not to mention
well protected by their squamose hides, special tools are needed to cope effectively with them it might

Increased Patient Responsibility
We like to think of medicine as a vast sea of knowledge, a science of certainty and applied research
intended to heal and cure. Patients visit their doctors expecting to be diagnosed, prescribed, and
treated. For several patients, this optimistic outlook is in fact the order of things. But, for many others,
medicine is an experimental endeavor and very human in nature. Atul Gawande, in his collection of
essays entitled Complications: A Surgeon s Notes on an Imperfect Science, sheds light on this view of
medicine as a field of possibilities and dead ends, improvements and failures. In spite of the many
changes brought forth by medicine, the evolution of the patient and doctor relationship into one that

This once popular perception of medicine is in a sense antiquated. Still, by admitting that there exists a
discrepancy between the past and present views of the patient doctor dynamic, the expanding role of
the patient can be recognized. The riskiness and unpredictability of medical care have made
physicians more anxious in terms of the treatments they recommend to their patients, such that the
patients are now the ultimate authority with respect to their health. Doctors today are taking a more
liberal approach to medicine. This development has indirectly provided patients with the freedom to
explore their own personal medical goals. Gawande describes the case of a twenty one year old
woman who was diagnosed with a malignant tumor in one of her breasts. Her surgeon, who normally
advised his patients with breast cancer to undergo a mastectomy, felt forced to reconsider this
operation, as he was hesitant about removing the breast of a woman so young. He instead discussed
with her other possible treatment options, explaining their benefits and risks (211). The patient,
provided with the proper information and resources, was given the opportunity to define her own well
being. It was a decision that she would have to live with for the rest of her life, and so only she had the
right to make that decision. Such issues have modified the patient experience by

Reflection Of The Catholic Church
The Roman Catholic Church was the largest Christian church, with more than 1.25 billion members
worldwide. One of the oldest religious institutions in the world, it has played a prominent role in the
history of Western civilization. Headed by the Bishop of Rome, known as the Pope, its doctrines are
summarized in the Nicene Creed. One the one hand, the Catholic Church was also distinguished by its
celebration of the seven sacraments. They are the Baptism, the First communion, the sacrament of the
Forgiveness, the declaration of principles, the sacrament of Confirmation, the sacrament of the sick,
the sacrament of the Marriage. Also, the Roman Catholic Church provided many basic religious

Differences Between The Medieval Catholic Church And Pietism
The Medieval Catholic Church and Pietism are both rooted in the common ideology that God desires
relationship and salvation for all. However, the two differ greatly in missiology, theology and daily
practicality. There are major points of divergence between the Medieval Catholic Church and Pietism
from which modern day Protestantism developed. Mission theology links systematic theology with
practical theology. It outlines and interprets mission systematically and practically from the
perspective of God s mission, Christ s mission, the mission of the Holy Spirit and the mission of the
Church. The true test of The Medieval Catholic Church and Pietism regardless of the merging of
missiology or the divergence of missiology is determined by how well each one meets the challenge
of the triune God s mandated definition of mission. Ultimately, one must adhere to the Great
Commission found in Matthew Chapter 28, verses 16 20. in order to accomplish a God centered
missiology.
Tradition
Pietism viewed Scripture as the governing authority of one s life. However, the Medieval Catholic
Church embraced Scripture and traditions as authoritative. In fact, Catholicism placed equal emphasis
on Scripture and tradition. According to Catholic Catechism, this living transmission, accomplished in
the Holy Spirit, is called Tradition, since it is distinct from Sacred Scripture by showing how its riches
are poured out in the practice and life of the Church, in her belief and her prayer. It

But as well as reducing costs, effective knowledge management should also dramatically increase our

Effective knowledge management, using more collective and systematic processes, will also reduce

Questions On Common Types Of Contracts
Contract Types There are multiple factors that influence the type(s) of contract(s) utilized/selected
within a project. Some of these factors include: the level of uncertainty related to the scope of work,
the amount of project risk willing to be assumed, importance of meeting schedule milestone dates, and
the need for projected costs, among others (Darnall Preston, 2013). Whatever the driving factors are in
the selection process, once established, the type of contract selected can have a significant influence
on the decision making process related to the trade off of the triple constraints of cost, time, and
performance (Kerzner, 2013). This paper will briefly explain five common types of contracts focusing
primarily on how each type can affect project constraint trade off.
Common Types of Contracts There are two general types of contracts: fixed price and cost
reimbursable, with each main type having several variations (Darnall Preston, 2013). The two most
common variations of fixed price contracts are, firm fixed price and fixed price incentive fee (Kerzner,
2103). For cost reimbursable contracts, the three most common variations are, the cost plus incentive
fee, the cost plus award fee, and the cost plus fixed fee (Kerzner, 2013). Each type and variation
influences project trade off decisions relative to the triple constraints of cost, time, and performance
differently (Kerzner, 2013).
Firm Fixed Price (FFP) In a FFP contract, all costs are incorporated

Illusion vs Reality in “Good Country People” Essay
One of Flannery O Connor s most successful stories, Good Country People was published in 1955.
Good Country People addresses the of good versus evil, the foolishness of intellectual pretensions,
and most importantly the theme of reality versus illusion. An important character Mrs. Hopewell s
daughter Hulga, born as Joy has a Ph. D but seems to have no common sense. She allows her self to
be tricked by a Bible salesman and gets her self in to a binding situation. Good Country people deals
with illusion vs. reality this is shown when the author discusses Manley Pointer; the bible sales man,
Joy thinking she is ugly, and the fact the Hulga and her mother tend to disagree about Hulga s life
decisions. Manley Pointer arrived one day ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hulga closes her heart just as she rejects her body. This deals with the concept of illusion vs. reality
because, Hulga feels that she is ugly therefore she changes her name to fit the way she feels about
herself. Finally the last example of illusion vs. reality is the constant disagreeance between Hulga and
her mother. Hulga s mother, Mrs. Hopewell, convinced that Hulga would have been better without a
useless PhD. degree in philosophy , has no comprehension of the one true meaning of life to her
daughter. Mrs. Hopewell feels that she can not brag on Hulga because, she sees her daughter as
unsuccessful in life due to the meaninglessness of her degree. She is also upset with the fact that
Hulga, formally known as Joy changes her name to better fit her personality. She feels that joy is a
beautiful name and that Hulga is opposite from her view of herself. In final analysis the glass eye
relates to the overall theme of the story illusion vs. reality because, the characters in the story see their
situations differently than how they truly are. The main character joy has no common sense and
struggles to find her own identity. Another important aspect of illusion vs. reality is the bible salesman
who is truly a con artist and get Hulga into a bind. Hulga s mothers opinion of her is also seen to be an
illusion to what it really is. Good Country people deals with the theme illusion vs. reality when the
author discusses the bible salesman, the fact

Review Of Tracy Kidder s Strength In What Remains
The book Strength In What Remains by Tracy Kidder, tells the journey of Deo, from his escape from
Hutu Tutsi genocide in the mid 1990s to the United States and back to Burundi. In his journey, Deo
struggle s against his memories of the genocide, he was faced with two different ways of dealing with
his memories, to forget or to remember. In the first half of the book, Deo follows the Burundian
concept of forgetting about the past, this is due unwillingness of victims to recall and, thereby, relive
the violence and pain of their recent history. But as he went through his journey, he realizes that
although he wants to forget his past tragedies, he was unable to do so. In the second half of the book,

Kidder observes Deo as he tours places of his past, Kidder felt that Deo have also come to Burundi to
revisit his past, and hopefully find a closure out of it. Kidder narrates on the two sides of dealing with
the past. He concedes that there is merit in following the notion of gusimbura; he had seen people in
Rwanda who cannot let go of their past and living aimlessly because of it. One man named Emmanuel
lost his family in the Hutu Tutsi violence, and he refuses to move on from the tragedy. He decided to
stay close to the memorial, so he can still feel close to his family. You know, what I can tell you is that
he s half alive, said Deo. This is a guy who lost the trunk of his life. (242). Deo felt that Emmanuel
was an example of what happens if you dwelled too long in your memories, you became possessed by
them, and is unable to live in the present. On the other hand, Kidder felt that Deo s journey through his
exodus and memorials are a necessary part of the healing process. Although most people would stay
away from a place filled with horrible memories, Deo visited memorial after memorials. Kidder
thought, After a time, I came to think that visiting memorials was in pat a willed catharsis. And why
wouldn t he have need of that? (247). Through revisiting his past, Deo was convinced that he has to
move on from his past memories. He has dreams and goals that he wants to pursue, and living in the

Malcolm X was a Symbol of the Civil Rights Movement
Misunderstood
Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.
Malcolm X
The 1920 s, or the Roaring Twenties , was a time in American history described as the Wild West .
Prohibition brought controversy and anarchy to the once civilized American society, with mobs and
gangs at the peak of their power with leaders such as Al Capone supplying alcohol and guns to the
public. This was also a time of heightened racial segregation, with boundaries being set such as only
white bathrooms and schools. Malcolm (X) Little was born in this time period, on the 19th of May,
1925, in Northeast Omaha (The Humanities of Malcolm X). Growing up in humble surroundings, with
the constant battle with segregation and hate, defined Malcolm as a person and as a leader. With
racism growing, Malcolm was influenced by civil rights leaders such as Martin Luther King Jr., who
came to be the symbol of the Civil Rights Movement. Racism became infamous in the 50 s because of
the rising popularity of a cult called the KKK, which was known to lynch and torture African
Americans, with no justice being brought upon the group (Malcolm X). All of this bigotry that
surrounded Malcolm is what made him have such a passion to become an educated scholar in the
ideas of racial segregation and hate. Though Malcolm X was a controversial figure in the eyes of the
public, his influence on American society did not go unnoticed, as Times Magazine named Malcolm X

The Threat Of The United States Army
While the United States Army is dedicated to promoting peace, stability and security throughout the
world, there are challenges that are necessary to address. Russia, North Korea, China, Iran, the rising
of non state actors in the Middle East, and future strategic campaigns all present issues that face the
Army. Coupled with budget sequestration, these challenges are amplified.
Russia is the largest threat facing the United States [25]. The threat from Russia specifically comes
from not only their supply of nuclear weapons and their advanced military, but their intent behind the
use of their military power. The state s recent aggression against surrounding countries shows the
attempt to reclaim international influence [25]. Their behavior in Crimea, Georgia, and Ukraine, has
prompted the global community to rethink security in Europe. [25] Russian nationalism, and a desire
to recoup their prestige from the cold war is an invitation for confrontation [25].
In Asia, North Korea continues to test nuclear weapons, and the oppressive regime is threatening to
the security in the continent, and especially to our allies in South Korea. Currently there are more than
a million service members on either side of the demilitarized zone on the Korean Peninsula [25].

I Am A Student Athlete
All growth depends upon activity. There is no development physically or intellectually without effort,
and effort means work Calvin Coolidge. Working for what you want has been drilled into our minds
ever since we were little. It doesn t seem like such a hard concept; however, putting it into action is the
difficult part. Even though putting effort into your schoolwork is a long process, the hard work will
pay off in the long run. If you do not actively work in all of your classes and try to overcome the
obstacles that you run into, you will end up with poor grades.
Because I am a student athlete, I have to juggle going to classes, working on homework, attending
practices, and playing in games. One of the problems I always encounter is trying to find time to study
for quizzes and tests. In high school, I could get away with not studying, winging the exam, and
hoping for the best; however, I never ended up with the results I wanted. I had a major reality check
when I realized that not studying would lead to poor grades. It does not take much effort to spend an
hour to sit down and review material. Studying or not studying was something that I could control

Freedom iin Kate Chopin s The Awakening Essay
Finding Freedom in The Awakening
In her novel, The Awakening, Kate Chopin shows Edna Pontellier¹s confrontations with society, her
imprisonment in marriage and Edna¹s exploration of her own sexuality. Chopin also portrays Edna as
a rebel, who after her experiences at Grand Isle wants to live a full and a free life and not to follow the
rules of society. Edna¹s life ends in her suicide, but her death does not come as a surprise. Chopin
foreshadows Edna¹s death by the use of nature and Edna¹s connection to it; also by the use of symbols,
especially the symbolic meaning of a bird; and by the use of many different characters in the novel,
such as Robert Lebrun, Mademoiselle Reisz and Madame Ratignolle.

When Edna meets Robert Lebrun at Grand Isle, she experiences an awakening from her life long,

Isle and Edna before he ruins his reputation as a good Creole . Robert knows that the Creole husband

social boundaries (475). Robert follows the rules of his society; his departure foreshadows his future
actions towards Edna. She returns to her pigeon house and finds that Robert is not waiting for her and
the house is empty (556). Robert is gone again. Edna remembers the warning of Mademoiselle Reisz
about the cruelty of society. Edna is scared to face the cruelty alone. Edna feels that without Robert by

Analysis Of Shane Koyczan And Many Artists
To this day is a spoken word poem and video illustration by Shane Koyczan and many artists. It was
created in 2013 with the purpose of effectively spreading the convincing message that bullying is a
real and serious thing that is too often dismissed as normal and not acted upon as the serious thing it
is. 2013 was shortly after the new large push against bullying which is likely one large reason as to the
creation and popularity of this work. However even with the anti bullying movement it would not
have become popular if it was not in itself an effective piece at conveying its own point against
bullying and contributing to the cause. Koyczan made his piece so successful by successfully using
ethos and pathos to make hard hitting grounded points to his purpose. He also used small amounts of
logos but it was not a majorly effective part of his piece. Ethos is the way the writer creates a persona
that allows the audience to see them as trustworthy, relatable, knowledgeable, and as someone with
authority. Then uses these to convince an audience of their point. This is use of ethos effectively done
in the creation of koyczan s poem to this day . He shows his reliability and knowledge to the viewer
by showing them that he has personal experience with the main topic. He tells the story of his pain
when he was bullied and how simple name calling left lasting effects on him personally. This not only
lets the viewer see that he has a reliable viewpoint, it shows that he has

Essay on Government Spending, Deficits, and Keynesian...
A growing government is opposite to America s economic interests because the various methods of
financing a government taxes, borrowing, and printing money have harmful effects upon the economy.
There are many reasons why there is a high deficit in the United States such as extensive spending.
This is true because government spending is often economically destructive, regardless of how it is
financed. There are many causes of the steady growth in U.S. trade deficits. There are many people
are against the high deficits especially economists.

Yes, the reason for the high budget deficit matter because many economists feels as though this will
eventually affect our children and/or even our grandchildren. Not only that we must know how to
budget the money. The government needs to know if they need to offer higher interest rates to attract
enough buyers of government debt. Excess amount of borrowing adds to the National debt which
means the Government has to spend more each year. Another reason why it matters we need to cut out
and/or investigate where the wasteful spending is going and if we need to cut back on public sector
spending or by raising the burden. There are few programs I think that we could cut to help in our
financial situation right now such as public assistance. I am all for helping people in need especially
children, senior citizens, and disabled. However, I am not willing to offer or give assistance to a
person who abuses the system. I know several people who receive public assistance and they are

An Argument Against Non Naturalism
she knows their friendship is not good . Another example could be a friend values his friends passion
for a sport but does not think he is good, here we see the lack of interchangeability in the words. In the
second premise If something can be valuable but not good than valuable does not determine good. this
is where the separation of the two words becomes more apparent and solidified in the third premise. In
the conclusion it is established that non naturalism is true. Argument against non naturalism: P1 If non
naturalism is true than being good has no relationship to or values, feelings or desires. P2 Feelings,
value and desires are related to what makes things good. P3 If feelings, value and desires are related to
what makes things good than non naturalism is not true. C Non naturalism is not true. What is Kant s
categorical imperative? Explain in detail how Kant would determine whether a given action is right or
wrong. Next, present, explain and evaluate an argument against Kant s categorical imperative. Kant s
categorical imperative comes from Kant s Deontology, the work of Immanuel Kant. Categorical
imperative is defined as act only according to that maxim whereby you can at the same time will that
it should become a universal law. . This ideaology believes that an act should be judge based upon its
ability to be willed as a universal law an apply to everyone. Under Kant s categorical imperative
something is right or wrong if it can be applied to

The Technological Evolution Of The Media Industry
The technological evolution has played an inevitable and indispensable role in changing the facade of
the world. In particular, recent developments and innovations in the field of science and technology
have transformed the entire paradigm of media industry. It has been established that in the
contemporary or technology driven media environment, the traditional concept of ownership,
intellectual property, as well as copyright has become a controversial point (Sutherland Smith, 2015).
It is due to the fact that the technological advancements have created such practices that have
completely redefined the ways in which media was being consumed by the audiences. Most
importantly, the contemporary media practices have also played a major role ... Show more content on

High tech media tools and platforms have superficially changed the way in which people used to
consume media. It has been established that the recent technological advancements have played a
significant role in building entirely new and unique media environment. In accordance with the views
of Bird (2011), the new current contemporary age of information and technology has substantially
enabled the individuals to actively contribute and consume the media sources. It is significant to bring
into the notice that such practices were impractical to be attained by the consumers, in the past years.
Before the emergence of internet as well as web 2.0 technologies, the communication, distribution,
and creation of ideas was generally aided by the corporate middlemen . It is due to the fact that it was
quite difficult and impossible (to some extent) for the average person to coordinate in a free and
independent manner. However, the evolution and development of contemporary and higher innovative
web applications had changed the entire facade of the media consumption trends. In this account, it
has been assessed that the web based applications and state of the art technologies have completely
democratised this process (Muir, 2013). It is because; by using these technologies, the users can easily
participate in the consumption of media through

Staples Guilt And Regret Analysis
Guilt and regret are two very powerful words in which fits the description about this essay by Staples.
For some it s never really easy to escape your past especially when there s so much regret that you feel
when you think about all the people that was in your life during your childhood. For Staples the
memory of his childhood was brought on by the devastating news of the death of his younger brother
and the irony to me reading this essay was that the sadness didn t come entirely from just his death but
from the stereotypical way a young black man dies. Staples felt that even being from a poor
background you have a way to escape, to break the chain of how you re raised is how you live type of
upbringing . This essay was written by Staples ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You can see he regrets it when he says [He] lacked the language to simply say: Thousands have lived
this for you and died. I fought the urge to lift him bodily and shake him. This place and the way you
are living smells of death to me, [he] said (506). He felt that maybe just maybe if he fought him hard
enough he would have been able to convince his brother to change but hoping and believing only can
take someone so far. His brother was his own person; at the age of 22 though young, you can imagine
that living in a poor neighborhood where there s drugs and violence without the proper structure
during early adolescence it s very hard to leave a lifestyle that consumes your whole being. Living in
tough neighborhoods especially during that time when it was very hard for young black men to
survive the violence that was happening. Murder was showcased as a way of being a tough guy in the
neighborhood; that being a machismo means committing acts that would be their only way of survival.
Staple s brother embraced the life of living in the ghetto because it was all he knew. It was how he
grew up and he fell for the life of easy crime to get by. In many cases the biggest reality of young men
who fall into violence are those who feel as though they want to belong usually because they feel that
living that lifestyle is the only way to get by. His brother never felt like he needed to leave because his
brother felt that it was the way he had to live because that s what was there right in front of him all
time. Staples knew about this arrogance with his brother by saying The young thinks themselves
immortal, and a dangerous light shone in his eyes as he spoke laughingly of making fools of the
policemen who had raided his apartment looking for drugs

Rachel Rosaline Montague
Rachel Rosaline Montague started her first day of high school. What no one knew, was that it was
actually her fiftieth first day of high school. Rachel was immortal. She was a vampire along with three
of her closest friends: Nicolle Rose Margaret, Emily Evergreen Primrose, and Jade Marina Wilson.
Rachel and them have been inseparable since they became friends back in 1966.
They were all turned into vampires in the same month. A vampire, who was passing through the town
where they lived, turned Rachel. As the days passed, Rachel learned more and more about being a
vampire. She had no one around to teach her, but became a master at controlling her thirst for blood
and her new found powers in a matter of days.
Once she thought the time was right,

  • 2. The Usa Patriot Act And The Homeland Security Act September 11, 2001 is a date that will live on forever in American history, much like the date of December 7, 1941. As President Franklin D. Roosevelt stated it is a date, which will live in infamy. The fear and the need to protect the country and its citizens from future terrorist attacks resulted in the U.S. Government to enact two different policies. The Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorist Act (also known as the USA PATRIOT Act) and the Homeland Security Act. Many individual feel that these two policies have infringed the rights of the American people, while others believe that these infringements are a necessity to ensure the safety of the people. This paper will explore if in fact these two policies are unreasonably and unjustly infringing on the rights of the American People, and how it effect the social justice system in America The USA PATRIOT Act was signed into law October 26, 2001, a little more then a month after the horrific attacks of 9/11; the Homeland Security Act was signed into law thirteen months later on November 25, 2002. • 4. Bilingual Observation Report New fossils of our species were unearthed from Morocco that makes the evidence soar past about 100,000 years. The bones, about 300,000 years old, were discovered thousands of miles from the previous record holder, unearthed in fossil rich eastern Africa. The new discovery tells more about our ancient people with a mix of modern and more primitive qualities. They are not just like us, said Jean Jacques Hublin, one of the scientists reporting the find. But they had basically the face you could meet on the train in New York. The Moroccan fossils unearthed suggest that Homo sapiens may have experienced our own one in any place in Africa, said Hublin, of the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig, Germany, and the College ... Chris Stringer and Julia Galway Witham of the Natural History Museum in London released in a Nature commentary. In the last 300,000 years, the main story is the change of the brain, Hublin said. Some experts who didn t take part in the discovery called that idea attainable despite the fact it was not explained. John Shea, However, who is an anthropologist at Stony Brook University in New York, said it s better to think of the different local people as a single one. These are parts of a network, through which ideas and genes flowed, he said. Shea said it was possible to unearth such old traces of early Homo sapiens in northwestern Africa. However, finding them there does not mean that our species first made an appearance there. When it comes to evidence for human origins in north west Africa versus Eastern Africa versus southern Africa, it s a tie, he wrote in an email. Richard Potts of the Smithsonian Institution s National Museum of Natural History said the Morocco fossils appear to reflect the very early transition to Homo sapiens, very possibly denoting the outset of the lineage to which all people ... • 5. Tully Constitutionalism A powerful and compelling case for cross cultural consensus on fundamental constitutional principles is outlined by James Tully in lectures delivered at Cambridge in 1994 and in essays based on his involvement in the work of the Canadian Royal Commission on Aboriginal Peoples (Tully 1995; 2008). Tully argues that the dominant language in which the claims of Indigenous people have been assessed is both Eurocentric and imperial. It is hostile to cultural diversity in general and to Indigenous cultures in particular. But there is another language available to us, in which the claims of Indigenous peoples can be put forward and negotiated in ways that are not prejudicial from the outset and that provides a basis for differential rights and distinct ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As such, it is a precondition for rather than a part of democracy: the rules of political association are not themselves subject to negotiation. For Tully, this language of modern constitutionalism is not so much universal as imperial: it served to justify European imperialism and continues to justify the imperial rule of former colonies over Indigenous peoples (Tully 1995, 96). In response to this diagnosis, he argues in Strange Multiplicity (1995) that the language of contemporary constitutionalism is more diverse than is often realised. Alongside the language of modern constitutionalism there is the language of common constitutionalism, derived from older traditions that allow for the persistence of diverse legal and political traditions within a given association. This developed through the English common law tradition and through encounters with the different languages of non European constitutionalism. In the course of the colonisation of North America, it led to the emergence of the Aboriginal and common law system of constitutional association, founded on the three principles of recognition, consent and ... • 9. Crowd Psychology The question that I intend to study is: How do shy people react in a crowd? (do they become aggressive/ assertive as per mob psychology, or shrink as per their personality)? There are various theories regarding the mode of behavior in a crowd. Some, such as Freud, posit that people behavior changes in a crowd and they become more restless and less individualistic. Mob theory, in fact, is born form this which asserts that crowds are the source of volatile conduct where diverse people gang together for a particular cause. Minds merge and each person s enthusiasm becomes increased as a result. On the other hand, you have the Convergence theory that posits that the cause is born beforehand and that people join the crowd in order to put their cause into practice. The crowd, in other words, enables them to accomplish their objective and it makes them more enthusiastic and entrenched in their mission. Social psychologists leBon (1895) and Zimbardo (1969) see the crowd as an instigator of individuation. Stimuli such as mergence into a larger whole, the rush of the environment, the pressure of the crowd, the sensory overload and so forth blur mental input and causes a deindivdualistic individual to appear. One thing that is remarkable about all of these theories is that they tend to generalize assuming categorical behavior to all individuals and providing the aspect of crowd with anthropomorphic qualities. • 14. How Did Honey Affect Aboriginal Culture Regarded as a very important part of the aboriginal culture, bees have been used by aborigines for food, tools and trade for thousands of years. Honey held great values and was considered a sign of respect. This was shown when honey was given to tribal elders by the hunters. Honey was treated as a highly prized substance, giving as a gift or traded as a valuable product. If this valuable substance was not traded or gifted, aborigines would simply use it to sweeten foods. Referred to as Sugarbag by the aborigines, native honey contains a lot of resin from native trees such as the eucalyptus tree. Due to its value, honey was scavenged for and found in nests located in trees, stumps, rocky crevices and muddy river banks. In order for the aborigines to find native bee hives, hunters would catch foraging bees and attach small pieces of light weight materials such as pieces of feather, spider web or grass to the pollen sacs or resin that was being collected by the bees. ... Hives that were situated high in a tree were not disturbed by cutting down the tree, instead, the honey was gathered by carving foot holes into the tree. This allowed for the aboriginals to climb up to the hive. The contents of the hive would then be obtained and left to recover and rebuild, to be collected at a later date. Beeswax and resin were important for making weaponry. These bee by products were used to fasten pieces of stone to wood. This would be achieved by heating the wax until it became a malleable liquid and would then be poured over the two materials and left to dry. • 29. Differences Between The Medieval Catholic Church And Pietism The Medieval Catholic Church and Pietism are both rooted in the common ideology that God desires relationship and salvation for all. However, the two differ greatly in missiology, theology and daily practicality. There are major points of divergence between the Medieval Catholic Church and Pietism from which modern day Protestantism developed. Mission theology links systematic theology with practical theology. It outlines and interprets mission systematically and practically from the perspective of God s mission, Christ s mission, the mission of the Holy Spirit and the mission of the Church. The true test of The Medieval Catholic Church and Pietism regardless of the merging of missiology or the divergence of missiology is determined by how well each one meets the challenge of the triune God s mandated definition of mission. Ultimately, one must adhere to the Great Commission found in Matthew Chapter 28, verses 16 20. in order to accomplish a God centered missiology. Tradition Pietism viewed Scripture as the governing authority of one s life. However, the Medieval Catholic Church embraced Scripture and traditions as authoritative. In fact, Catholicism placed equal emphasis on Scripture and tradition. According to Catholic Catechism, this living transmission, accomplished in the Holy Spirit, is called Tradition, since it is distinct from Sacred Scripture by showing how its riches are poured out in the practice and life of the Church, in her belief and her prayer. Some of these factors include: the level of uncertainty related to the scope of work, the amount of project risk willing to be assumed, importance of meeting schedule milestone dates, and the need for projected costs, among others (Darnall Preston, 2013). Whatever the driving factors are in the selection process, once established, the type of contract selected can have a significant influence on the decision making process related to the trade off of the triple constraints of cost, time, and performance (Kerzner, 2013). This paper will briefly explain five common types of contracts focusing primarily on how each type can affect project constraint trade off. Common Types of Contracts There are two general types of contracts: fixed price and cost reimbursable, with each main type having several variations (Darnall Preston, 2013). The two most common variations of fixed price contracts are, firm fixed price and fixed price incentive fee (Kerzner, 2103). For cost reimbursable contracts, the three most common variations are, the cost plus incentive fee, the cost plus award fee, and the cost plus fixed fee (Kerzner, 2013). Hulga s mother, Mrs. Hopewell, convinced that Hulga would have been better without a useless PhD. degree in philosophy , has no comprehension of the one true meaning of life to her daughter. Mrs. Hopewell feels that she can not brag on Hulga because, she sees her daughter as unsuccessful in life due to the meaninglessness of her degree. She feels that joy is a beautiful name and that Hulga is opposite from her view of herself. In final analysis the glass eye relates to the overall theme of the story illusion vs. reality because, the characters in the story see their situations differently than how they truly are. The main character joy has no common sense and struggles to find her own identity. Another important aspect of illusion vs. reality is the bible salesman who is truly a con artist and get Hulga into a bind. Malcolm X The 1920 s, or the Roaring Twenties , was a time in American history described as the Wild West . Prohibition brought controversy and anarchy to the once civilized American society, with mobs and gangs at the peak of their power with leaders such as Al Capone supplying alcohol and guns to the public. This was also a time of heightened racial segregation, with boundaries being set such as only white bathrooms and schools. Growing up in humble surroundings, with the constant battle with segregation and hate, defined Malcolm as a person and as a leader. With racism growing, Malcolm was influenced by civil rights leaders such as Martin Luther King Jr., who came to be the symbol of the Civil Rights Movement. Racism became infamous in the 50 s because of the rising popularity of a cult called the KKK, which was known to lynch and torture African Americans, with no justice being brought upon the group (Malcolm X). It was created in 2013 with the purpose of effectively spreading the convincing message that bullying is a real and serious thing that is too often dismissed as normal and not acted upon as the serious thing it is. 2013 was shortly after the new large push against bullying which is likely one large reason as to the creation and popularity of this work. However even with the anti bullying movement it would not have become popular if it was not in itself an effective piece at conveying its own point against bullying and contributing to the cause. Koyczan made his piece so successful by successfully using ethos and pathos to make hard hitting grounded points to his purpose. He also used small amounts of logos but it was not a majorly effective part of his piece. Ethos is the way the writer creates a persona that allows the audience to see them as trustworthy, relatable, knowledgeable, and as someone with authority. Then uses these to convince an audience of their point. This is use of ethos effectively done in the creation of koyczan s poem to this day . He shows his reliability and knowledge to the viewer by showing them that he has personal experience with the main topic. • 46. Staples Guilt And Regret Analysis Guilt and regret are two very powerful words in which fits the description about this essay by Staples. In many cases the biggest reality of young men who fall into violence are those who feel as though they want to belong usually because they feel that living that lifestyle is the only way to get by. His brother never felt like he needed to leave because his brother felt that it was the way he had to live because that s what was there right in front of him all time. Staples knew about this arrogance with his brother by saying The young thinks themselves immortal, and a dangerous light shone in his eyes as he spoke laughingly of making fools of the policemen who had raided his apartment looking for drugs ...
