Peran awal bidan dalam mendukung pemberian ASI adalah:
1. Meyakinkan bahwa bayi memperoleh makanan yang
mencukupi dari payudara ibu.
2. Membantu ibu sedemikian rupa sehingga ia mampu
menyusui bayinya sendiri.
I. Membiarkan Bayi
Bersama Ibunya Segera Setelah Lahir
Selama Beberapa Jam Pertama
Bayi mulai menyusu sendiri segera
setelah lahir sering disebut dengan
inisiasi menyusu dini (early initiation)
atau permulaan menyusu dini.
Pemberian ASI seawal mungkin
lebih baik, jika memungkinkan paling
sedikit 30 menit setelah lahir.
Inisiasi Menyusu Dini berdampak
positif untuk perkembangan bayi. Kita
tidak
perlu
mengkhawatirkan
mengenai kemungkinan terjadinya
hipotermi karena secara otomatis
kulit ibu akan membuat stabil tubuh
bayi.
II. Mengajarkan Cara Merawat
Payudara yang Sehat pada Ibu
untuk Mencegah Masalah Umum
yang Timbul
Tujuan dari perawatan payudara untuk
melancarkan sirkulasi darah dan mencegah
tersumbatnya saluran susu, sehingga
pengeluaran ASI lancar.
Sebelum menyentuh puting susu,
pastikan tangan ibu selalu bersih dan cuci
tangan sebelum menyusui.
III. Membantu Ibu Pada Waktu Pertama Kali Memberi ASI
Semakin sering bayi menghisap puting susu ibu, maka pengeluaran ASI
juga semakin lancar.
Pemberian ASI tidak terlepas dengan teknik atau posisi ibu dalam
menyusui.

Posisi menyusui dapat dilakukan dengan :
Posisi berbaring miring

Posisi duduk

Posisi ibu tidur terlentang
IV. Menempatkan Bayi didekat Ibu pada Kamar yang Sama
(Rawat Gabung)

Rawat
gabung
merupakan
perawatan
dimana ibu dan bayi
ditempatkan bersama dalam
ruangan selama 24 jam
penuh.
Manfaat rawat gabung
dalam proses laktasi dapat
dilihat dari aspek fisik ,
psikologis, fisiologis, edukatif,
ekonomi maupun medis.
V. Memberikan ASI pada Bayi Sesering Mungkin
Pemberian ASI sebaiknya sesering
mungkin dan tidak perlu dijadwal.
Bayi

dapat

menentukan

sendiri

kebutuhannya.
Bayi

yang

mengosongkan

sehat
satu

dapat
payudara

sekitar 5 sampai 7 menit dan ASI
dalam lambung akan kosong dalam
2 jam.
VI. Memberikan Kolostrum dan ASI saja
ASI dan kolostrum merupakan
makanan yang terbaik untuk bayi.

Makanan lain (termasuk air) dapat
membuat bayi sakit dan menurunkan
persediaan ASI ibunya.

Bila

minuman

lain

atau

air

diberikan, bayi tidak akan merasa lapar
sehingga ia tidak akan menyusu.
VII. Menghindari Susu Botol dan “dot empeng”
Pemberian susu dengan botol dan kempengan dapat
membuat bayi bingung puting dan menolak menyusu atau
hisapan bayi kurang baik.
Hal ini disebabkan, mekanisme menghisap dari puting
susu ibu dengan botol jauh berbeda.

Cara menghindari susu botol
dan dot empeng :

Memberikan kolostrum
dan ASI saja

Memberikan ASI
sesering mungkin
Bayi harus ditempatkan dekat
ibunya di kamar yang sama
(rawat gabung, rooming in)

  • 3. Peran awal bidan dalam mendukung pemberian ASI adalah: 1. Meyakinkan bahwa bayi memperoleh makanan yang mencukupi dari payudara ibu. 2. Membantu ibu sedemikian rupa sehingga ia mampu menyusui bayinya sendiri.
  • 4. I. Membiarkan Bayi Bersama Ibunya Segera Setelah Lahir Selama Beberapa Jam Pertama Bayi mulai menyusu sendiri segera setelah lahir sering disebut dengan inisiasi menyusu dini (early initiation) atau permulaan menyusu dini. Pemberian ASI seawal mungkin lebih baik, jika memungkinkan paling sedikit 30 menit setelah lahir. Inisiasi Menyusu Dini berdampak positif untuk perkembangan bayi. Kita tidak perlu mengkhawatirkan mengenai kemungkinan terjadinya hipotermi karena secara otomatis kulit ibu akan membuat stabil tubuh bayi.
  • 5. II. Mengajarkan Cara Merawat Payudara yang Sehat pada Ibu untuk Mencegah Masalah Umum yang Timbul Tujuan dari perawatan payudara untuk melancarkan sirkulasi darah dan mencegah tersumbatnya saluran susu, sehingga pengeluaran ASI lancar. Sebelum menyentuh puting susu, pastikan tangan ibu selalu bersih dan cuci tangan sebelum menyusui.
  • 6. III. Membantu Ibu Pada Waktu Pertama Kali Memberi ASI Semakin sering bayi menghisap puting susu ibu, maka pengeluaran ASI juga semakin lancar. Pemberian ASI tidak terlepas dengan teknik atau posisi ibu dalam menyusui. Posisi menyusui dapat dilakukan dengan : Posisi berbaring miring Posisi duduk Posisi ibu tidur terlentang
  • 7. IV. Menempatkan Bayi didekat Ibu pada Kamar yang Sama (Rawat Gabung) Rawat gabung merupakan perawatan dimana ibu dan bayi ditempatkan bersama dalam ruangan selama 24 jam penuh. Manfaat rawat gabung dalam proses laktasi dapat dilihat dari aspek fisik , psikologis, fisiologis, edukatif, ekonomi maupun medis.
  • 8. V. Memberikan ASI pada Bayi Sesering Mungkin Pemberian ASI sebaiknya sesering mungkin dan tidak perlu dijadwal. Bayi dapat menentukan sendiri kebutuhannya. Bayi yang mengosongkan sehat satu dapat payudara sekitar 5 sampai 7 menit dan ASI dalam lambung akan kosong dalam 2 jam.
  • 9. VI. Memberikan Kolostrum dan ASI saja ASI dan kolostrum merupakan makanan yang terbaik untuk bayi. Makanan lain (termasuk air) dapat membuat bayi sakit dan menurunkan persediaan ASI ibunya. Bila minuman lain atau air diberikan, bayi tidak akan merasa lapar sehingga ia tidak akan menyusu.
  • 10. VII. Menghindari Susu Botol dan “dot empeng” Pemberian susu dengan botol dan kempengan dapat membuat bayi bingung puting dan menolak menyusu atau hisapan bayi kurang baik. Hal ini disebabkan, mekanisme menghisap dari puting susu ibu dengan botol jauh berbeda. Cara menghindari susu botol dan dot empeng : Memberikan kolostrum dan ASI saja Memberikan ASI sesering mungkin Bayi harus ditempatkan dekat ibunya di kamar yang sama (rawat gabung, rooming in)
