V.G. Siddhartha founded Cafe Coffee Day in 1996, starting with a single outlet in Bangalore. It has since expanded to over 1500 outlets across India, becoming the largest coffee chain in the country. Siddhartha obtained an economics degree and worked in financial services before starting CCD. Under his leadership, CCD has diversified into coffee production, exports, retail outlets, vending machines, and other subsidiaries. It has received several awards for being India's most popular coffee brand and one of the most trusted. CCD employs over 5000 people and continues to grow its business across India's food and beverage sector.

ABOUT THE LEADER
• V.G was born in Karnataka , He is best own known as the
founder-owner of the chain of Cafe Coffee Day outlets.
• He obtained a master's degree in economics from Mangalore
University.
• After doing his Masters he joined J M Financial Limited in
1983-1984 in Mumbai as a management trainee/intern in
Portfolio Management and securities trading on the Indian
Stock Market.
• Siddhartha bought a stock market card for Rs 30,000, along
with a company called Sivan Securities, which was renamed in
2000 as Way2wealth Securities Ltd with vision to set "new
standards in the retail financial services in India".

• Cafe Coffee Day Global limited Company is a Chikkamagaluru based
business which grows coffee in its own estates of acres.I12, 000 t is the
largest producer of ARABICA beans in Asia exporting to various countries
including USA, Europe and Japan.
• The first CCD outlet was set up on July 11, 1996, at Brigade Road
Bangalore, Karnataka. It rapidly expanded across various cities in India
adding more stores with more than 1000 cafés open across the nation by
2011.
• In 2010, it was announced that a consortium led by Kohlberg Kravis
Roberts would invest ₹10 billion(US$160 million) in Coffee Day Resorts,
owned by the company.
• As of March 2015, there are 1530 outlets across 29 states of India. Cafe
Coffee Day has also expanded outside India with its outlets in Austria
(Vienna), Czech Republic, Malaysia, Egypt and Nepal
