2. Process
Here I took a close up picture of a plant to create a forest like feel
for the movie as the setting which is a graveyard will have lots of
greenery, plants and trees. As well as that, on the left hand side I
have toned down the brightness and darkened the middle area on
my phone with the contrast tool to make it more dark and haunted
to go with the scene as it is a horror film and should look evil and
eerie.
3. Process
On this slide I took a close up picture of a plant pot as in the graveyard there
will be old, terrifying looking and mysterious plant pots which will be on
either side of the paths when walking down the long path of a graveyard. On
the left I made the pot darker from the bottom as I put the contrast on dark to
get the edgy, horror feel to the pot and also, when I adjusted the brightness I
made sure that the design of the pot was in focus to make it look old and also
to make your attention go to that and not everything else around it in the
image.
4. Process
On This picture I used the shadow tool to give a shadowy edge on the
potatoes for a more edgy, ghostly effect. As well as that, on the right the
potato picture is clear and plain whereas on the left the picture drags you in
to look closely as it has dark shadows and effects as if it is hiding which gives
a haunted look about the picture.
5. Process
On this picture I made it black and white as this helps you to
force your imagination into creating fear. The use of black and
white films allows for the lighting to bring about mood, which
colour films cant do. Also, the camera is fully focused on the
wood and the gap that we are forced perspective into the killers
eyes at what they are staring at and also that we cant look
anywhere else apart from the gap and fence. Also, the person
could be scared or crying whilst looking through as the houses
are blurry and not as clear or focused.
6. Process
The blinds being only partially open gives a haunted vibe as if
someone is staring outside at you and it is very creepy as I used the
tone tool to make it more dark and haunted on the edges. Also, as
the camera is zoomed in it attracts your eyes to focus on the little
part of the blinds being a little bit open and as if you are being
creeped on by someone from outside.
7. Reflection
β’ What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
For my final product which is a horror film I will
use the close up shots for dramatic effect and
mysterious scenes where there is a lot of detail,
which the audience will focus on and want to
understand why it was done. Also, I will use parts
which are in black and white as well as colours
because black and white films allows the lighting to
bring about the mood which colour scenes cant do.
