Project title: My Rock Magazine
Project:
Project Description:
The denotation of the name of the magazine is ‘Chord’ magazine, and the main
competition of this new magazine will be ‘Classic Rock’ magazine. The verbal
code ‘Chord’ connotes that the magazine is a rock magazine that focuses on good
instrumental music. With artists that use guitars, drum and other instruments
that are typically found in bands in their music, instead of more electronic
sounding music. Both of these magazines focus on the classic rock genre and are
targeted to a similar/same target audience. I am planning to have roughly 100
pages in the magazine.
Photographer:
I will be the photographer for this first issue of ‘Chord’ magazine. I am planning
to mainly take picture straight on or slightly below the model. The straight on
image will make the model seem approachable, but at the same time confident.
The Images from of the models that are looking slightly up at them are to make
them look larger and more imposing. The lighting will be bright (High Key) but
slightly to the left, right or top of the model, this is to add some shadow effects to
the pictures. I plan to use Photoshop to add any other make up effects or lighting
effects that will make the image seem more appealing.
On the first page (cover) the image will be at a slightly lower angle to make the
I used font as my masthead as its dark spatter-like effect causes the title to stand
out, catching the eyes of those that pass by which makes it rememberable, as
well as making it appeal to my target audience. On top of that it has an old-time
style, which represents that the magazine is focusing on classic rock as a genre,
making it easier for potential customers to identify what the magazine is about at
a glance.

model seem larger, giving the front-page some impact. On the second page
(contents) I will be having a few close ups on the models faces. And them straight
on with instruments (for example guitars). On the third page there will be
pictures of the models on their own, facing the camera straight on as well as at a
slight angle to the sides. These pictures will show their whole upper body. The
final forth page (DPS) will have pictures from a very low angle, looking up at the
model, showing almost their whole body.

Casting:
I think that Zac would be good a good model for The first issue of my magazine
because he is very tall and has a strong build, which can make him look
intimidating with the right camera angle, also he wears quite dark clothes, which
makes him similar to the majority for these famous rock artists.
Model requirements:

The models would have to be slightly taller that average high and be wearing
dark clothes (such as the ones that are shown in the pictures above, this is
because these are the type of clothing that my target audience might wear and
find appealing. They will also have to have relatively serious expressions on their
faces with firm, but relaxed body language, standing in a relaxed comfortable
pose.
Wardrobe and Look:
Wearing Leather Jackets with dark shirts and trousers. Sun glasses could also be
worn to add to the effect. They may also need to have tattoos (I will be using
tattoo sleeves or temporary tattoos).
Hair and Makeup:
