Project title:
Project: EDM- This stands for Electronic Dance Music and is important as it
instantly conveys what the genre of my music magazine is going to be.
Project Description:
This will be my own issue of Electronic Dance music, magazine which will
be created with inspiration from successful magazines of this genre such as
“Mixmag”. My magazine will contain interviews with famous producers and
DJ’s to help to create a star appeal, as well as adverts for modern and
stylish brands of clothing. For example, Stone Island and Armani etc., which
will help to make my magazine appear appealing to a wider range of
people. The structure of my pages will be based off other magazines such as
“Electronic music” and “Mixmag”. I will use my model (Callum) on my
Double Page Spread, with a close up shot for the interview image and a mid
shot for my front cover image. I will use a medium close up for my front
cover picture, so that the reader will get a clear view of my star on the front
cover.
Photographer:
The artistic appearance of this font will make my front cover look more
aesthetically pleasing for my reader. This is important because this will
make people more likely to want to buy it. The professional appearance of
the font will convey to the reader that the information and stories inside of
my magazine will be equally as professional as the front cover. People, who
see a professional and artistic front cover, will naturally favor it over any
other magazine that they see. An engaging front cover is needed to engage
potential buyers. I feel this font it completely appropriate, as it is artistic,
bold and big.

 I will be the photographer for my magazine.
 I will take a shot of my model with them listening to
 Beat- headphones to represent the mixing ability of producers and DJ’s
 I will take a mid shot for my front cover so that the reader will be able to
see the modern clothes of my model
 I will use good, bright lighting to make the brands of my models clothes
easy to see and also, dark lighting would be the stereotype of a rap/hip-
hop magazine.
 After assessing my shots, I may apply an after-effect to give the picture
different colours or to help improve the lighting of the picture.
Reference images and ideas:
My model will wear Beats
headphones to symbolize The DJ
background of my model and of my
magazine. This will also help to
reflect the wealth of my model and
therefore portray my model as a Dj
star and producer.
The use of big and expensive
brands will inform the reader of
the wealth of a Dj or music
producer. Also, if they wear
similar brands to their fans it
will help create a star appeal
and create a rapport between
the star and the readers.
The use of sunglasses for my star
will help to connote their fame.
This is important because if the
main image contains somebody
who genuinely looks famous, it
will help to attract more people to
buy the magazine.

Casting:
For the main image of my front cover, I will take a medium shot with only
their shoulders upwards, just like a typical main image of a front cover.
Also, for my contents page I will use a long shot to create variation between
the pictures that I take. Lastly, I will take a medium close up for my double
page spread, as this is the shot that is used for typical Double Paged
Spreads in successful magazines.
Model requirements:
For the interview, my model will need to have sunglasses hooked onto his
shirt or sweatshirt, to depict the idea of Paparazzi. Furthermore, the image
used will have to be of the model looking to the left or right of the camera.
This is because it will connote that he had the picture taken, while he was
talking to an interviewer.

Wardrobe and Look:
My model will wear popular and expensive brands of clothing e.g. Armani, as
well as wearing sunglasses to connote fame and also a pair of Beat headphones
to portray the background of a DJ or EDM producer. Furthermore, the
expensive brands will connote my models wealth which will portray that he is
successful in his job.
Hair and Make up:
No make-up will be needed, as my model is going to be a male. However, in
terms of hair, my model will have to have some form of styled hair. This is
because celebrities often come up with new styles for hair and fans usually
copy the styles that they like. Therefore, the use of an effective hairstyle
will be important, as it will depict that individual style that all celebrities
have.
Where:
The for the front cover may be taken outside, to make the cover more engaging
for anyone who reads it. However, in terms of the Interview image, this will be
taken inside to convey the environment of an interview room. The DPS may also
be taken inside so that the image is well lit and of good quality.
When:
I will take the picture during the afternoon when the weather is good, so that the
camera ill not get ruined by rain or bad weather. Also, it will ensure that the
lighting and quality of the picture is good. I will have to make sure there is
nobody around either, so that nobody gets into the background of my picture.
