1. Unit 15 – Print Based Advertisement
Unit 15 LO2 – Proposal
P2 Learners produce a plan for an advertising campaign that features
print-based advertisements.
Name: Serena Keogh.
Candidate Number:1156
Centre Number: 64315
What is the product being advertised?
A new 2017 festival called …..
Advertising a festival located in London.
I will be producing 2 print based advertisements:
A Poster.
A Flyer.
What are the Aims and Objectives you are trying to achieve?
Aims:
The aim of my poster is to advertise the up-coming festival, as well as promoting it
so that people would want to come, I am going to insure that my poster is bright and
stands out against other festivals and that it is as descripted and as informative as it
can be so more people are likely to come.
Objectives:
The objectives of the poster are to advertise the festival to all readers and promote
the festival as much as they can so people know more about it and then are likely to
come.
Target Audience-
Maslow – Maslow the target audience that would attend SW4, would fit into the
category ‘Explores’ this is where the they are driven to change caused by social
media, and everything which changes within social media would cause them to
change as well, making sure that they keep up with local trends and issues
happening in the media industry is important to them.
Katz – Katz people attending/interested by SW4, as they would be attracted to the
artists performing there as well as the entertainment, and social attraction at the
festival, as this is where people are able to interact with friends and other people,
and not worry about work/school life.
Hartley –
Due to their being a lot of young people there the main target audience is going to
be 18-30s, there is likely to be more males going rather than females as males would
be more interested in the type of music rather than females. They would attend as
they would be driven by self-image by this females would take more pride in their
outfits and insure that they look their best.
2. Unit 15 – Print Based Advertisement
Psychographics –
When it comes to the psychographics they would be fun and outgoing people, as
SW4 is a fun festival therefore they would enjoy being in this environment around
good music and socializing with friends.
Socio-economic needs –
Socio-economic needs means that they would fit into the category C1-E, as the
majority of people would be students in University or people of not in a high up job.
Therefore as the socio-economic needs are lower, compared to other festivals, their
spending power would be slightly lower as they may not be able to afford a weekend
ticket compared to a day ticket.
What is the campaign message?
My festival will allow people to come to the festival to see their favorite bands and
artists, and go to enjoy the event as well go for the social side of things to meet
friends and make new ones.
I have decided to grab their attention with the style of my poster and the magazine
advert. I will do this because the advert in my magazine will be bold and bright
therefore catching the reader’s eye when they are flicking through the magazine.
Slogan:
I am trying to persuade my intend target audience to attend the festival, and
therefore I have decided that my slogan for my festival is going to be “and if the
music is good you dance” I thought that this would be a catchy slogan, as it also
tells the audience what to do, and also give them an insight into the festival is
going to be good and that they are going to want to dance and enjoy the music.
Location:
I am basing my festival in London, Hyde Park as it is an easy place to get to, as well as
many people know of Hyde Park, and that anyone travelling from outside London is
able to get there easily.
Style or approach:
My style of my festival is going to be bold, and stand out against other festivals I will
include a mixture of dark and bright colors for my festival poster, I have also decided
to use an image from the festival itself to grab the reader’s attention and make them
think whether they want to go there or not because they like the look of the festival.
My festival will be in the middle of July, this is because it is in the middle of the
summer, and therefore it will be hot. With it being hot during the time of my festival
people are more likely to attend, as the mood will be good, this also links in with the
fashion side of the festival if it is hot girls and boys are able to dress up in summery
clothes.
Content:
On my advert, I will include the main headliners and other well-known artists,
which people who are interested in the festival will want to see. Also it is
important to let them know where the festival will be held, and when it will be
taking place, therefore doing this in advance and before the date shown on the
poster gives people enough time whether they want to go or not and decide with
their friends if they all want to go together.
