• Celedor was created by Jasper Carrott and Paul Smith CBE first working on
TV shows.
• Celador is currently under no ownership after Celedor Productions
management completed a buy out of the company.
• The global light entertainment company was initially taken over by
Complete Communications which brought out shareholders Paul Smith
CBE and Jasper Carrott.
• After this, Celedor then expanded upon the radio, film and international
businesses.
• Complete Communications then announced that they wanted to sell the
company, then after that was when Celedor brought out the company.
• The company is run by managing director Danielle Lux.
3. Operating Model
• Celedor operates on all business models (Film, Radio and International
businesses).
• The film business has co-produced the eight Oscar winning Slum Dog
Millionaire which also won seven BAFTA’s, and four Golden Globes. They are
also best known for producing Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?.
• The radio business currently owns The Breeze Network which has twelve
stations, Sam FM which has three stations and owns two other stations; Fire
Radio and Palm 105.5. Nearly all of the stations operate in Wales.
• Celador has been funded by the likes of BFI for example. This is because they
want to promote the film image to give a great understanding to audiences.
• They have a strategy to make money to produce films: The company uses
initial capitalization which they set up a fund for the production (If not they
use project capitalization where they get finance from sources for a specific
project). Deals will then be done with smaller companies creating a
partnership and co-funding. It may also be sold to distributors before it is
created. Finally, they deal with the licensing in which companies will arrange
with huge production companies.

who on a global scale produce award winning films. These are:

Television
• Sony Pictures Entertainment – a Hollywood conglomerate
As much as they are competitors, Celador hasn’t had as much success as the
others, example is Celador has only released seven films in ten years but Sony
Pictures Entertainment have released maybe released triple the amount.
