give examples. Try to use used to / would / be (get) used
to if possible.
 example: I used to share a house with ten other students. A
couple of them would never clean up after themselves in the
kitchen, and it used to drive the rest of us crazy! I never got
used to it, and eventually I moved to another house.

  • 4. Practice  Check your answers on p. 133 (3.1)  p. 33 #7 – talk about which habits really annoy you and give examples. Try to use used to / would / be (get) used to if possible.  example: I used to share a house with ten other students. A couple of them would never clean up after themselves in the kitchen, and it used to drive the rest of us crazy! I never got used to it, and eventually I moved to another house. It annoys me [when [people / my roommate / my friends] + V] It drives me crazy [when…] I can’t stand (hate) it [when…]
  • 5. Great Experiences  p. 40 #1 – discuss  #2A – read the program information. Who decided what the top 50 things are?  #2B – match the activities mentioned to the photos A-E  If you could choose one thing to do before you die, what would it be?  Watch the video:  In which order are the activities (A-E) mentioned?  Which one isn’t mentioned?  Which activity was number one?  #3B – Watch again – are they true or false?  #3C – discuss with a partner and explain why
