Hello class. I am Mitchel. I am an active duty Airman and part time student. I am an intelligence analyst in the Air Force and I want to work in the Federal side of Criminal Justice when I get out of the Air Force. That is why I am pursuing a Criminal Justice degree. One communication example I have used to solve an issue in a professional setting is through Email. At work, there have been multiple instances where a simple email has solved a scheduling conflict or work-based misunderstanding. Sometimes I am not able to talk in person with the person I need to talk to so email works just fine. Another example, also at work, I had a one on one discussion, with a moderator present, to resolve a conflict. Someone misinterpreted what I said and was offended by my comments. One on one we discussed the misunderstanding and were able to resolve the issue and there has been no further conflicts. I chose to talk to this person one on one rather than in front of everyone because privacy . In each of your two peer responses, identify another communication style, method, or approach that could have been used in one of your peer's examples. Include whether or not you think the outcome of the communication would have been changed with this other approach and why. .

Attached is the part one and two Background: These discussions have been intense and very thoughtful, and I am tremendously proud to be a part of this ongoing discussion and am honored to work with all of you. You have done some unbelievable work and your effort is evident, and I'm going to tell you why. The first half of the book in general sets the stage for Part 3 and ultimately Part 4. In the first part of the book, we identified some common themes resulting from our discussion on avoiding outward criticism/condemnation/complaining, affirming the good in others, and connecting to core desires. In Part 2, we dug a little deeper to explore how these themes connected to our core values based on our observations. After all of this, your thoughtful posts and engaging comments, I was able to take the information you provided as a class and somehow boil it down to one point of significance. The most notable theme that emerged from our Part 2 discussions was simply this: taking the opportunity to connect with others and show interest in other peoples' lives is paramount in the communication process. There are many ways to go about this, and Part 3 presents 10 chapters on techniques that support earning and building the trust of others. As we've boiled down our work from Part 1 and Part 2 and identified that taking the opportunity to connect with others and show interest in other peoples' lives is paramount in the communication process, let's do some work on how best we can support our goals of becoming better communicators and working toward becoming agents of change and pinnacles of leadership (Part 4). If the theme we've identified as a class is correct (in the importance of connecting with others on a truly human, personal level in a way that demonstrates a genuine, believable interest in what they are doing or what they value), then we all have a tremendous opportunity to improve ourselves a little at a time. Ultimately, dare I say it, can we leave everyone we meet a little better than before and every situation we encounter a little better because we could find the value in the others after finding the value in ourselves? In November of 2013 Doug McMillon had just been named the CEO of Walmart Stores, Inc. effective February 1, 2014. McMillon had unique preparation for the job. He had held senior executive positions in Walmartâ€™s domestic operations and had presided over both the company's international operations and Sam's Club, Walmartâ€™s discount club chain. McMillon would likely need to draw upon his diverse experiences to successfully lead the company in the face of mounting challenges. As recently as 1979, Walmart had been a regional retailer little known outside the South with 229 discount stores compared to the industry leader Kmartâ€™s 1,891 stores. In less than 25 years, Walmart had risen to become the largest U.S. corporation in sales. With more than $469 billion in revenues, Walmart had far eclipsed not only Kmart but all retail competitors. Yet another measure of Walmartâ€™s dominance was that it accounted for approximately 45 percent of general merchandise, 30 percent of health and beauty aids, and 29 percent of non-food grocery sales in the United States. Despite its remarkable record of success, though, Walmart was not without challenges. Many observers believed that the company would find it increasingly difficult to sustain its remarkable record of growth. Walmart faced a maturing market in its core business that would not likely see the growth rates it had previously enjoyed. Growth in same-store sales had declined in multiple quarters in the previous year. Many investors believed that Walmart had reached a point of saturation with its stores. Supercenters had provided significant growth for Walmart, but it was not clear how long they could deliver the company's customary growth rates. The company added new stores at a prodigious rate, but the new stores often cannibalized sales from nearby Walmart stores. Walmart faced problems in other business areas as w& The Walmart-owned Sam's Club warehouse stores had not measured up to Costco, their leading competitor International operations were another challenge for Walmart Faced with slowing growth domestically, it had tried to capitalize on international opportunities. These international efforts, however, had met with only success at best. Walmart was also a target for critics who attacked its record on social issues.
