2. How much would you be willing to pay for a
magazine based on the pop genre?
>£1
£1-£1.99
£2-£2.99
£3-£3.99
£4-£4.99
<£5
This question allowed me to find out
how much people would be willing to
pay for a pop music magazine which
means that I roughly knew how much
I should charge for my magazine. The
reason why this is important is
because if I charged some ridiculous
price for my magazine it would make
it look unprofessional.
3. Would you prefer the magazine to be
formal or informal?
Formal
Informal
This question allowed me to find out if
people wanted to have a magazine
that was formal or informal and in fact
people wanted an informal, chatty
magazine. This is important because
it means that I know how I am going
to layout my pages and what words I
am going to use.
4. Which existing pop magazine do you
prefer?
We love
pop
Billboard
Top of the
POPS
Other
This question allowed me to find out if
there is an interest in already existing
pop magazines. This is important
because it then allowed me to figure
out what people wanted the magazine
to look like, for example the most
popular magazine is ‘Top of the
POPS’ meaning that the audience
probably wants a magazine that is
similar to this.
5. According to the format of the magazine,
how would you like the balance between
text and images?
More
images
than text
More text
than
images
An even
spread of
both
This question allowed me to find out
what they wanted the balance
between text and images. This is
important because if people wanted a
factual magazine they would probably
want more text; but in this case they
want more images meaning that if I
had too much text they will find that it
looks boring.
6. Would you like the magazine front cover to
be cluttered or organised?
Cluttered
Organised
This question allowed me to find out
what sort of layout they wanted the
front cover to be like. They have said
that they want a cluttered format
meaning that the text and images
would overlap. This is good because
it follows the typical pop format.
7. What would you like to see inside a pop
magazine?
Informative
articles
Band/Artist
fact files
Interviews
Freebies
Other
This question allowed me to find out
what people wanted to see in terms
of content which gave me an idea of
what my double page spread would
include. According to the results
people wanted to see an interview
therefore I will include an interview of
a band or artist.
8. Which colour scheme do you
prefer?
Pink and
Yellow
Pink and
Blue
Orange
and Red
Other
This question allowed me to find out
what colour scheme I should use for
my magazine. Colour scheme is
important because it allows people to
know what genre it is representing
instantly. Most people who took my
questionnaire have said other (4
people said black and gold and 7
people said blue and red) this means
I will choose blue and red for my
colour scheme but I will make sure
that I choose light and vibrant shades
for they fit the genre better.
