1. Risk Reason for Risk How Risk Will Be Overcome
Equipment When I am filming I will be
responsible for the equipment I
am using. I therefore have to
ensure I look after it and return it
in the same condition I initially
took it.
I will look after the equipment to
as good of a standard as
possible. This will include
checking the tripod’s legs are
properly fixed so that it does not
collapse; ensuring the camera is
screwed in to the tripod
properly; ensuring all of the
equipment is properly encased
and packed up when moving
around. Also it is likely I will be
filming on uneven ground, this
means that the balance of the
tripod will require significant
attention.
Falling Tree Filming mainly in a woodland
environment. Windy conditions,
as an example, could result in a
tree falling.
Ensure that I only film in
woodland when the weather
conditions are calm and
appropriate.
Shouting During Argument At the beginning of the music
video, there will be a loud and
aggressive argument between
the characters. This could cause
disruption and confusion to
people living nearby, which
could mean we get reported.
Due to the high risk of putting
my neighbours in to a potentially
uncomfortable position, I have
decided to not record this
‘voiceover’ in the house as
initially planned. Instead, this will
be added to the music video at
the post production stage as a
sound effect or an externally
recorded voiceover.
Tripping There are going to be many
obstacles throughout the filming
process that could result in
somebody tripping over/falling.
These obstacles includes
exposed tree roots in the
woodland and pavement curbs.
Falling could risk causing
damage to the body or to the
equipment.
As the director, I will make sure
that I communicate effectively
with everybody on set to warn
them of potential trip hazards.
This will be procedure before we
start filming any shot to allow
everyone to be aware of the
hazards within that relevant
block as such.
Continuity As it would be more or less
impossible to film everything all
in one session, the filming is
going to spread across multiple
days. This means that
everything must be as similar as
possible. If continuity is not
effectively organised, the
professionalism of the music
video is risked.
The actress within the music
video is going to be wearing the
same clothes throughout the
entire filming process to allow
for the music video to achieve
continuity in that aspect. The
weather is an uncontrollable
factor that will likely affect
continuity, however I will plan
filming around the weather
forecast to have the best
possible chance of fully
achieving continuity.
