The document proposes the development of a ring road for Pune to reduce traffic congestion in the city. It was decided in a 2007 meeting chaired by the Chief Minister. The ring road would be implemented on a build-operate-transfer basis and span 169.73 km in four parts. Detailed surveys have been completed for most parts. Land acquisition cost is estimated at Rs. 2374 crores and construction cost at Rs. 6065 crores. Satellite townships could generate Rs. 9228 crores in revenue along a 38.38 km stretch.
