1. Reece Mechan – Final Major Project – Pitch Script
Slide One:
Hi my names Reece Mechan and I am pitching the idea of a magazine which is straight Health &
Fitness Lifestyle cross. The fitness magazine will be called MBS which stands for Mind, Body and
Soul. This is the final draft of what would be the magazine’s logo. I have chosen for the font to be in
red because it is seen as a masculine colour and is typically associated with strength and
determination which is important to advertise with a fitness magazine.
Slide Two:
Audiences would expect a health & fitness magazine to feature a muscular man on the front cover
and to contain tips on how to get a muscular body and how to be healthier. Audiences of a lifestyle
magazine would expect to see a fashionable or hot model on the front cover also they would expect
to be told what is fashionable and what the essentials are for next season. My idea is similar to
magazines such as GQ, Men’s Health and Men’s Fitness.
Slide Three:
The target audience for this magazine is male students who are attending college or university. I
have chosen to aim my magazine at college or university students because they are a near my age so
I know what grabs the attention of them. Another reason I have chosen to aim my magazine at them
is because shows like TOWIE, Geordie Shore, and Ex on the Beach has changed social expectations of
then guys in my generation. The people in this age range has been described as the most likely to
focus on their looks and their physique as people in an older age group. With more people caring
about their fitness and appearance means there is a bigger gap in the market for my magazine.
College and university students will be attracted to my product because there isn’t a magazine that
offers the best parts of a health & fitness magazine and also the best parts of lifestyle magazines.
The main selling point will be it is a bargain for the price. With the target audience being students
they are going to want to save money so they’d rather buy an all in one magazine like mine is than
waste more money on buying separate magazines.
