The media format I have chosen to do is a magazine.
Synopsis of Idea (content,
narrative, genre)
The genre of magazine I have chosen is health & fitness. The
content of my magazine would also include stuff about trends and
fashion as well as fitness tips and interviews. I have chosen to
include trends and fashion stories alongside fitness tips and
interviews because at the moment people in my age group are
looking up to reality stars from shows like; TOWIE and Geordie
Shore. Through looking up too these stars they want their
physiques and to be able to live there lifestyle.
Target Audience?
(demographic NOT age range)
The target audience of my magazine will be male students. I have
chosen to aim my magazine at this target audience because
stereotypically college – university student’s care more about
their body and how they look than other groups of men do.
Another reason I have chosen to aim my magazine at this target
audience is because male grooming and metro sexuality is
becoming more popular within my generation.
How will your project meet the
needs of your target audience?
My project will meet the needs of the target audience because I
am going to try get an interview with Joss Mooney or Rogan
O’Connor who are both known for their lifestyle and body
builders’ physique. Both Joss Mooney and Rogan O’Connor
appeared on MTV reality show Ex On The Beach so they achieved
fans who fit into my target audience.
Another way my project will meet the needs of my target
audience is because I will include a photo of a man with a muscly
physique. This will appeal to my target audience because if you
are looking at a fitness magazine then you want to get muscly so
this will motivate the reader to doing so.
What production techniques
will you use to realise your
project?
The production techniques I will be using for my project is doing
my page layout which I will be doing this on Photoshop. I will also
have to edit the photos I have taken off the model.
