Target Audience
Questionnaire Analysis
BY: DAMILOLA OGUNNAIKE
Question one
From this result it clear that majority of the
people that participated in our target audience
questionnaire were females. This is as 66.67%
were female, while 33.33% were male. This was
intentional as our main audience that we aim to
appeal to are females. This is in reference to the
fact that our short-film is based round an issue
that many teenage girl face on a day-to-day
basis. However we do still hope to appeal to
male, this is as one aim of our short-film is to
raise awareness of the issue of bullying.
Question two
From the results we can see that 60% of our
target audience are in the 16-18 age bracket, 40%
are in the 19-21 age bracket and 0% are in the 22-
25 age bracket. It is beneficial to us that that most
of the people that answered our questionnaire
are 16-18 years old, this is due to the fact that the
characters that are in our short-film are in the 16-
18 age bracket, therefore our audience will be
able to relate to some of the issues that the
characters in our short-film encounter.
Question three
From this pie chart we gathered that 66.67% of our
target audience that 4-7 films per month, while
13.33% of them either watched 8-11 films or 0-3 films
per month and 6.67% of them watched 12 or more
films per month. This showed us that our target
audience had, had experience with films before.
Therefore they understood the aims of films and it
also meant that they would be willing to watch our
short-film.
Question four
As you can see the majority of our target
audience has had an experience with short-films,
this is as 60% of them said yes. While 40% of
them said no. This is beneficial as it means that
most of our audience no the aims of short-films
an no that they are different to the typical
Hollywood films. As a result, they would be able
to deal with the reality and grittiness of our
short-film.
Question five
From the results of this question it clear that
majority of our target audience use YouTube as a
media platform to find out about the latest films.
This is due to the fact that 66.67% said YouTube.
13.33% either use magazines or none of the
suggestions as a media platform to find out
about the latest films. Whilst 6.67% said that
they use television as a media platform to find
out about films.
Question six
From this it is clear that more people enjoy social
realism, this is as 40% of them said they did.
Meanwhile 33.33% of them said that preferred the
romance genre. While 13.33% of them said they
preferred action movies. lastly., 6.67% said they
either liked sci-fi or comedy
Question seven
From the images of the bar chart it is clear that the
majority of our target audience like films with a twist
at the end, this is due to the fact that 93.33% of them
said yes. While less people said no they do not, this is
because 6.67% of them said no. This was very
beneficial as it lets us know what our audience like
therefore we can in-cooperate this into our short-
film.
Question eight
From this it is clear that a big amount of our target
audience will be willing to pay around £5 - £9 to
watch a film, this is as 73.33% of them said they
would. Then 13.33% of them said they would be
willing to pay £0 - £4 to watch a film. Meanwhile
6.67% said they would either pay £10 - £14 or none
of the suggestion to watch a film.
Question nine
From this it is clear that 26.27% of our target
audience either said that Quentin Tarantino or
Steven Spielberg was their favourite director. While
20% said that their favourite director was Will
Gluck. Lastly, 13.33% of them said that their
favourite director was either Christopher Nolan or
none of the director mentioned. This was beneficial
as it means that we can view these directors work
and use it in our short-film.
Question ten
From this it is clear that a lot more of our target
audience said that did not like films with subtitles in
them. This is in reference to the fact that 66.67% said
no. While the minority of them said that they did like
