2. Why we used SurveyMonkey
SurveyMonkey enabled us to distribute our questionnaire to a large range
of people within a short amount of time.
It is also very easily accessible by many people as it is online where most
people would prefer to answer questionnaires.
Typically, normal questionnaires nowadays take place online.

What is Your Gender?
These results which are displayed may suggest
that our results may appear to be biased. This
is due to our questionnaire being completed
by over 80% of females and under 10% of
males. These results may be needed to be
taken into consideration when analysing these
results, as they could reflect stereotypical
assumptions of females.
6. Question 2
Age

Our results here show that the majority of the
people who filled out our survey were 15 to
24 years old. This is good as our target
audience are within this age range which
enables us to understand what this age range
enjoy and want to watch. Our survey as also
be completed by people of all ages so we will
be aware of a wider audience and what they
enjoy. This may be reflected from our
previous question as well.
7. Question 3
This question enables us to understand what
level of education the people who are
answering our questions as. Here we can
show what ages people are still at within the
48 people who answered our survey. Similarly,
to our age groups the most popular
qualification is AS/ A Level and BTEC. 0

8. Question 4
This is one of the most crucial questions for our
Primary target audience research. As this enables us
to understand what films people want to see
especially as our survey was completed by a large
amount of the age group we are desiring for our
audience. It is evident that comedy was the most
popular vote with 25% of the vote which is an
element of what we are trying to conceive within
our teaser trailer. Teen/ Romance then also came
second which could be biased as our survey was
completed by a larger amount of females and the
age range of 15-24.

9. Question 5
When asking this question it enabled us to
understand what people like to see when they are
exploring a film which they may want to see. It is
evident that the Teaser Trailer/Trailer is the most
persuasive style of advertisement with just under
80% of the vote. Then word of mouth came
second, this suggests that many people value the
opinions of their peers or of other people. This
style of advertisement would be very useful for
indie films. Which our teaser trailer will be using
this style of film due to its originality.

10. Question 6
This question enabled us to show how the styles of
advertisement may persuade people to want to see
a film. Overall it is evident that magazine covers are
not the best style of advertisement, this means that
we will have to try to make a much more eye-
catching cover to draw the people in. Whereas, the
teaser trailer yet again appears to be the most
popular style of advertisement for films. This
suggests that we will have to try to make the trailer
as intriguing as possible so we can persuade others
to watch the full film if we were to make it.

This question enabled us to understand whether
audiences want to be able to relate to the
protagonist or a character in the story. These results
show that it is “very important” that the audience
relate to the character as 37% of the 48 people who
answered the questionnaire. This is very relevant to
our plot for the teaser trailer as our protagonist has
OCD, this enables our audience to feel connected to
the story as they are an outsider as well.
How important is it that you can relate to a character
psychologically, physically, socially and/or visually?
12. Question 8
This question enabled us to understand
whether the audience will want to see
stereotypes to be transformed. 49% of the
people who answered the question believed
that it is “definitely” appealing when a
stereotype is changed. This enables us to
maybe expand our story further enabling the
teaser trailer to leave on a cliffhanger. From
these results this style of plot appears to be
very important or interesting to potential
audiences.

people want to watch films, this enables us to
see the main reasons for people to watch a film.
Overall, entertainment was seen as the main
reason for people to watch a film. This suggest
that may people want to watch the film for not
not for education as this appeared to be the
least popular for the reasons which is
understandable if people want something easy
to watch.

14. Question 10
Please briefly describe what would make you
want to watch a teen drama film?
These few results show that many people
have a keen interest into their favorite genre
instead of any technical elements of the film.
However, one answer stated that they wanted
“something new, not cringe worthy or cliché”.
This suggests that they want a film that is
original and does not create the usual style of
teen drama or horror film. This style usually
falls into the indie category.
