1. Multi-level control of home appliances through
RF & GSM with status monitoring facility
Abstract
The main function of the system is to control any desired electrical home
appliance through various types of wireless network devices, in this regard and to
provetheconceptpractically,twodifferent wirelesscommunicationsystems areadopted
for the ease of user. Withthe help of a GSM mobile link, any electrical device like Fan,
Light, geezer, etc. canbeenergized or de-energized throughanymobile phone whose
number is stored in to the mainprocessor.The advantage of using mobile net work is
that it doesn’t have any range restriction such that the user can operate any desired
appliance from any where of earth. Brilliant concept adopted inthe system is that the
status of each and every electrical appliance activates through this network will be
monitored through concern mobile phone, means weather the gadget is on or off,
therefore itcanbecalledas feed-back monitoringsystem. Inthis conceptthe processor
can be programmed to have communication link with desired mobile phones through
GSM module. TheGSM moduleinterfaced withembedded system receives command
code from the concern mobile & depending up on the code corresponding appliance
will be energized or de-energized through corresponding relay.
Anotherwireless network adoptedinthe system is RF, whichoperates ata high
frequency of 433 MHz by which same devices can be controlled with the help of a
small remote. If the user is in the house, this technique can be used such that taxable
mobile networkcan be avoided.
The prototype module is constructed with three relays, and three different lamp
loads are used to simulate three different electrical appliances. These relay contacts
are used to make or break the supply to the lamps. The received code in the form of
SMSwill be decoded throughembedded system andaccordingly control actionwill be
implemented.
