The document discusses brand identity and how it was established for the film "RIVALS" through consistency across the teaser trailer, poster, and magazine cover. Specifically, the same font was used for the title, a dark red color featured prominently, and the characters and their clothing/props like a gun were depicted consistently to represent the crime drama genre. Knowing the target audience is also important for brand identity, and the target for "RIVALS" was identified as male teenagers and young adults based on a similar film.

2. What is Brand Identity?
• Brand identity means creating an image that remains consistent between
products, in my case my teaser trailer, poster and magazine cover. A
brand identity can be created through many different ways such as a
logo, font, layout or even colour.
• For a marketing campaign to be successful there needs to be a sense of
brand identity between the products so the message and what is being
advertised is clear.
• Having a unique selling point can also help to create a brand identity as it
is something that will set your product and brand apart from competitors.
3. RIVALS Brand Identity
The brand identity for my film, RIVALS is
based around the text elements and also
the character representation. The title is
written in the same font throughout all
three media products to keep it consistent
and to create a connection between the
trailer, poster and magazine.
The dark red colour is also featured across
all three products. Colour is one of the
most important features of a strong brand
identity as it stands out and easily
recognizable.
The colour scheme has been kept
fairly similar with the use of the the
colours black, white and red.
4. Character representation is an important part of the
marketing campaign. It has allowed me to give a clear
representation of the genre and to some extent the
narrative themes of the film through the poster and
magazine cover. The characters on the poster and
magazine cover are looking quite serious. The mise
en scene is very important in developing a brand
identity. The characters wearing smart clothes across
all three media products. There is also a gun present
in the trailer, poster and magazine. It is the same
character with the gun which gives the idea that he is
the bad guy in the film. It also gives hints towards the
genre of the film being a crime drama.
Genre and Narrative
5. This is part of a group
presentation which shows the
target audience for our film.
We used information from
the pearl & dean website. We
used the film Legend as the
basis for our research as it
shares a similar genre and
narrative. Knowing your
target audience is important
when establishing a brand
identity. Are target audience
is male teenagers and young
adults. The crime action side
shown by the gun would
attract teenagers and the
serious nature of the
characters will appeal to
adults who are interested in
the two characters
relationship.
