Cohesive marketing
One of the ways we intend to use cohesive marketing is through
the use of typography. We intend to us this because it makes to
film trailer identifiable across all forms media and can ultimately
become more well-known as it can become iconic with its link to
the film. So an example of where this has been effective is in
star wars. As shown in the poster and in the filmtrailer by the
use of the same font makes the filmand its link immediately
recognisable.
Another element of cohesive marketing is the use of colours across all forms
of media used for the marketing of a film. Some examples of these are
Indiana jones films for the use of the colours such as earthy colours such as
browns yellows and oranges across all the trailers and posters reflecting the
themes of the films. We intend to apply the use of colour in cohesive
marketing by using colours that reflect the themes of the movies for example
using blacks and reds to represent violence in our
noir film.
Another element used in cohesive marketing is the
use of icons or symbols used in the film. This is clearly highlighted
by the use of the symbol of the puppet strings in the godfather
which is seen with the font of the title of the film which when
paired together makes the film immediately recognisable.
How is cohesive marketing used in noir films? An example of the use of
cohesive marketing is in the film Sin City each
example of marketing for the filmsin city has an
obvious and recognisable theme and likeness
across all of them. This is particularly clear in the
use of the red typography across all platforms and
the use of the dark colour scheme and the use of
the characters on the front.
Examples of successful cohesive marketing campaigns include the majority
of the most successful filmfranchises
as it would be instantly recognisable to
their fans from just the use of a font or
a colour or a characters. Some
examples of these include the fast and
furious films as they all look similar in
the posters and trailers and that the
font and the use of the characters are the same. Other examples are star wars and Indiana
jones as described above. With the use of the colour and typography.
