2. What is Brand Identity?
-Building a brand identity is done by being consistent with
your editing and formatting in all products relating to your film,
such as your colour scheme, fonts or style of writing.
-By having a brand identity it can help ensure your audience
is clear on what genre your film is based on as well as help
create a marketing campaign.
- This includes having a unique selling point as well as all
products being attractive to your particular target audience.
3. Brand Identity was important in our marketing campaign as it made our audience
clear of our genre. We made it clear we were going to use the generic
conventions of other films with our genre in order to keep all products professional
looking and realistic.
4. We used the same colour scheme as the film
“Legend” in our teaser trailer as well as the same
titles which helped build our brand identity as we
ensured the colour scheme was the same in all
three of our products.
Here it is clear we have used the
same dark red colour that is
consistent throughout our trailer.
5. We also used the same colour
red in our poster to add to the
brand identity.
We also use the black, white and red colour scheme in our
magazine cover so that our audience are familiar with what
film the magazine is about by seeing the colours and before
they have even read it.
6. The film ‘Legend’ used the same colour scheme
throughout their teaser trailer as well as in their
poster to ensure they established a brand identity.
7. Font
All three of our
products used the
same font ‘Sui
Generis’ which al.so
helps establish brand
identity.
8. Characters
The characters stay smartly
dressed throughout all three
products which helps relate
our characters to our genre as
this is a common way of
dressing in gangster films.
9.
10. Setting
The bottom of our poster
has a background of a
landscape of London which
is associated with a town
or city.
We have created a scene in
our trailer using a time lapse of
a busy town to emphasise the
location of our film.
11. Narrative Themes
The gun used in our trailer is also shown in our
magazine cover. Guns are often associated with
gangster films so became a part of our brand
identity.
12.
13. Target Audience
All three of our products aim for our target audience of people ages 15-24. This is
a fairly young target audience so making our poster and magazine cover bold and
eye-catching was an important element when editing our products.
However, even though we want our products to be appealing to our younger
viewers, the use of darker colours emphasises the serious side to our storyline
which we thought would help widen our target audience to slightly older viewers.
14. Overall, our three products all played a part in helping our group establish our own
brand identity by being similar in different ways. All three products were inspired
by different films with the same genre as ours, such as ‘Legend’ and ‘Pulp Fiction’
who all used similar techniques of creating a brand identity, for example, same
colour scheme, font and character representation.
Brand identity is important in ensuring your products focus on targeting your
specific audience and making your genre clear through using generic conventions
of that particular genre. However, it is also important for your products to be
unique.
