1. Aims and Considerations sheet
Existing Products:
How many existing artefacts do you feel you will need to look at?
I think looking at 6 artefacts so I will be able to cover all of the artefacts types possible. By doing 6,
I will be able to find all of the information I need and want and be able to evaluate and compare
them.
What kinds of artefacts are you expecting to look at?
Posters, websites and leaflets.
What elements will you be looking at to help you with your research?
The different fonts, like the size and colour. Different images used and how effective they are. The
layout of where they have been placed to show what sort of poster it is and what message it’s
trying to get across. I will also be looking at the types of information that have been put into them
and what help lines they offer.
Primary Research:
How many people would you hope to question as part of your primary research?
I would like to question at least 3 people, but more if its possible.
What age group would you like to target and why?
I will target 14-18 year olds because that’s the age children fall out with parents and parents kick
them out for a bit. They aren’t old enough to do it on their own and need support.
What methods will you use?
The methods I will use are social networks, as that’s the most popular source for teenagers but I
can also use blogs, interviews and surveys.
How will you know if your research has been successful?
If my research has been successful, I will have all of the information I need and won’t need to ask
any further questions.
2. Considerations:
Why might you need to be sensitive when carrying out research during this project?
You need to be sensitive because people don’t find it easy opening up to people they don’t know.
Different people have different backgrounds such as drug use and abuse and don’t want people
knowing about it.
Could you face any problems when trying to do this research? If so, is there a way to overcome
these?
The main problem I could face is if nobody answers the important questions, I won’t have the
sufficient information I need.
Where would you expect your finished pieces to be displayed and distributed?
I would expect my finished pieces to be displayed in colleges, schools, local shops and bus stops. I
think these places will work, as that’s where teenagers most go.
What funding issues might an organisation like SASH face?
If it doesn’t get enough donations they may struggle to keep the charity going.
