Children in Year R General Reminders SAFE PLACE

Children in Year R have been enjoying school on a part time basis for the last
fortnight and now it is time to prepare them for full time. Here are some
general points to remember:
• School starts at 8.55 am. Children need to be in class by this time for registration.
• Any child arriving after the classroom doors have been closed must come into school via the main
entrance and inform the staff in the school office that they have arrived. Anytime after 8.55 the class
register and the dinner registers will have been collected from the classes so for reasons of health and
safety it is important for us to know that your child has arrived here in school and they are recorded in the
dinner register if they are having a school dinner.
• It is important that your child is in school on time. Please bear in mind this can distress children to arrive
late, cause disruption to the class and distress to other children. It is important for children to have a
good start to their day. Children arriving after 8.55 am will receive a ‘late’ mark.
• If you choose for your child to stay for school meals this must be for a minimum of a week at a time. The
kitchen staff serve up to 140 school meals per day, this is a popular choice by the children and parents.
Please find the menu attached. As of Monday 22nd we will be Week 4.
• School meals need to be paid for on Monday morning. Please send exactly £7.75 in an envelope,
clearly marked with your child’s name and class. Cheques should be made payable to ‘Sefton
MBC’. If your child is absent for any reason please remember to deduct £1.55 from the following weeks
money. It is most helpful if the correct money is sent as this saves a lot of precious administration time.
• If your child prefers a packed lunch, please send a lunch box clearly marked with your child’s name and
class. Don’t forget a lot of boxes can have the same design, please make it clearly identifiable for your
child to recognise their own box. We would like to avoid any child picking up the wrong box and eating the
      wrong lunch.
• Book bags need to be brought to school each day so we can send reading books, pictures and letters
home. Pump bags should now be in school with a PE kit with all items clearly marked with your child’s
name and class. Children need to have a water bottle to keep in school to enable them to refill with
water to drink throughout the day. All bottles must be marked with your child’s name and class.
• School finishes at 3.15 pm. If you are going to be late for any reason it is vital parents ring the school
office so we can get this message to your child as it saves any unnecessary distress. Please keep us
informed by letter or email about any additional adults who have permission to pick up your child.
‘Early Birds’ Breakfast Club
Breakfast club opens at 7.50 am. Due to health and safety children must be brought directly into the club and
handed over to a member of staff and not dropped off outside. Fees are to be paid on the first day of any
sessions which have been booked. If your child will not be attending due to sickness or appointments etc please
telephone 211959 to let us know. Fees can then be carried forward if we are notified by 8 am. There are still
some places available. If anyone is interested please feel free to pop in, introduce yourselves to us and we can
show you what is available. We look forward to seeing you. Think of all that extra time on those Christmas
shopping days!

As of Monday 22nd we will be Week 4. • School meals need to be paid for on Monday morning. Please send exactly £7.75 in an envelope, clearly marked with your child’s name and class. Cheques should be made payable to ‘Sefton MBC’. If your child is absent for any reason please remember to deduct £1.55 from the following weeks money. It is most helpful if the correct money is sent as this saves a lot of precious administration time. • If your child prefers a packed lunch, please send a lunch box clearly marked with your child’s name and class. Don’t forget a lot of boxes can have the same design, please make it clearly identifiable for your child to recognise their own box. We would like to avoid any child picking up the wrong box and eating the wrong lunch. • Book bags need to be brought to school each day so we can send reading books, pictures and letters home. Pump bags should now be in school with a PE kit with all items clearly marked with your child’s name and class. Children need to have a water bottle to keep in school to enable them to refill with water to drink throughout the day. All bottles must be marked with your child’s name and class. • School finishes at 3.15 pm. If you are going to be late for any reason it is vital parents ring the school office so we can get this message to your child as it saves any unnecessary distress. Please keep us informed by letter or email about any additional adults who have permission to pick up your child. ‘Early Birds’ Breakfast Club Breakfast club opens at 7.50 am. Due to health and safety children must be brought directly into the club and handed over to a member of staff and not dropped off outside. Fees are to be paid on the first day of any sessions which have been booked. If your child will not be attending due to sickness or appointments etc please telephone 211959 to let us know. Fees can then be carried forward if we are notified by 8 am. There are still some places available. If anyone is interested please feel free to pop in, introduce yourselves to us and we can show you what is available. We look forward to seeing you.
