If you have current students at
Tisbury School it would be ap-
preciated if you make the
school aware of any siblings
that will be attending in the
future. This is important for us
to manage our roll numbers.

HOT DATES TO DIARY OVER THE NEXT TWO WEEKS:
CHECK OUT THE LEFT HAND COLUMN OF THE NEWSLETTER FOR MORE UP AND COMING
EVENTS.
3 September: Choir Practice at Waverley Park School 9:00 to 12:00. The big Singing Gleek
Out is not too far away – tickets are on sale through the Invercargill City Council Booking Of-
fice – Tisbury School’s Night is : TUESDAY 17TH SEPTEMBER. – Check out the separate no-
tice.
9 September: School Photos.
12 September: Parent Information Night on ―Helping your Child with their Maths, Reading and
Writing‖ – at Tisbury School – run by the Teachers. 7:00pm – see inserted flyer.
CYBER SAFTEY: We have an opportunity to help our students, families and staff to understand
the need for being safe when using the internet. John Parsons will be working with our 8 to 11
year olds on Monday 23, September 9:00 to 11:30am. There is also an opportunity for par-
ents to attend a parent evening on Wednesday, 18th September 7 – 9pm. Venue: Waverley
Park School. This evening will help you understand some of the ―safety issues‖ that your chil-
dren and your family face when interacting on social media. Feedback is that John is fantas-
tic, and that you will be very surprised at what he has to say. This evening is one you don’t
want to miss out on - pencil it into your diary today. (Check out the flyer that went home with
the last newsletter).
ATTENDANCE: In the newsletter I wrote about attendance and the emphasis on eliminating
habitual lateness. During the past two weeks staff have been specifically monitoring lateness
and letters will be sent home next week outlining the importance of being on time. Lateness
will continue to be monitored and if necessary referrals will be made to the Attendance Ser-
vices. The BIG thing is, if you are having problems at home getting your child to school on
time, talk to the classroom teacher, or myself, and we can work together to solve them.
PARENT INFORMATION EVENING: Check out the enclosed flyer – staff want to help keep you
informed about how to help your child at home – we hope as many of you can join us for this
fun, and hands on, night of learning about maths, reading and writing.
EDUCATION OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM: Term four is looming and the organization has begun
for the school wide EOTC programme. Notices came home today outlining the events. As usu-
al we need parent help – with over 100 children going to Bluff and working around water we
will need all the help we can get.
STUDENTS WRITING – Every classroom is sending some writing home – check it out! – Room
4 , we have some really great writers who want to share their work with you in this newsletter.
AROUND SCHOOL THIS FORTNIGHT:
All classrooms had the opportunity to work with Gemma Robertson and are all working on de-
veloping a dance to share on our sharing day.
Until the next newsletter, take care and

Hockey Fees
Hockey Season is coming to a close,
so if you haven’t paid your $20 fee
please do so now. If you are unsure
contact Mary at the office. We have
already paid Hockey Southland for
the teams entry fee . The Board of
Trustess has subsidized the cost
substantially, otherwise it would be
costing you as a parent $42.00.

Spare Clothes: Because of
the time of year students
are getting dirty wet clothes
when they play outside so it
might be a good idea to pop
an extra set of clothes in
their school bags so they
have something dry to
change into.
HANDY HINTS; KIDS NEED TO EAT TO LEARN
CARPARK CHANGES STARTING TERM 4:
Further to the BOT Link, the school is always looking at how to
make the carpark safer. One solution put forward is to have
―no drop off Zone‖ after school only. This will require all par-
ents to park their cars - PARKING OVER THE ROAD IN THE FIELD
(ONCE THE GATE HAS CHANGED) and come into the school
grounds to collect their children. So please don’t get cross
when your child is not let out of the gate to walk to the car.
There is no wonderful solution to the drop off zone area, and
I’m sure this solution will have its own issues – however, if we
don’t try, we don’t know how improved it will
be.
If outstanding library
books are not returned
by next week then a $5
charge will go on your
school account.
